Goodbye boycott. For the first time since January 2006, the EU will donate money to the Hamas-led Palestinian Authority. The EU plans to transfer 4 million euros.
"EU Breaks Freeze on Funding PA," by Hana Levi Julian for INN:
The European Union has agreed to transfer 4 million euros (approximately $5 million) to the coffers of the Palestinian Authority government, effectively ending a freeze by Western nations on funding the Hamas terrorist-led entity.“The EU is resuming its support of the Palestinian Authority in a direct manner through the finance ministry,” announced PA Finance Minister Dr. Salem Fayyad at a news conference Monday.
The money is to be used for a project “to assist the Minister of Finance in ensuring the proper use of Palestinian taxpayers’ money” and that expenditures are accounted for, said EU representative John Kjaer.
The Quartet, of which the European Union is a member as well as the United States, Russia and the United Nations, declared a freeze on funding to the PA until the Hamas-led government officially recognizes the State of Israel, renounces terrorism and fulfills past agreements.
The Quartet members had also said they would not acknowledge the Fatah-Hamas unity government until it fulfilled the conditions.
The freeze went into effect in January 2006, immediately after the Hamas terrorist organization, whose charter plainly states its intent to destroy the State of Israel, took control of the PA government in a landslide victory.
Needless to say, Hamas has not fulfilled any of those conditions. Yet the EU sees fit to "show them the money" anyway.
The financial move raises the status of the PA without formal acceptance. It is also likely to result in increased pressure on Israel to release $700 million in tax revenue collected for the PA but withheld following the Hamas victory, leading to an accelerated disintegration of Western resolve to boycott the terrorist organization.U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has recently returned to pressuring Israel into releasing the funds, despite America’s ban against transferring money to Hamas.
In explaining her actions, she told The Associated Press, "I understand the Israelis' concerns about what might happen to tax revenue, but we think that there are mechanisms that they could use in the ways that they have in the recent past to support important activities."
Considering that Rice has pandered to Iran and financed Fatah and the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade, financing Hamas is totally understandable.
But is anyone still fighting the "war on terror"?

Can we do anything about this?
Where do I protest?
I am European and I dont want any European money to go to Hamas (or Palestine territories), not even for humanitarian relief.
After all it is not Europe, it is Asia.
Let Arab countries do so if they believe in Zakat, it is their problem.
"Goodbye boycott."
-- from the article above
After the billions already supplied by Infidel taxpayers to the so-called "Palestinians" (the local Arabs who are the shock troops of the Lesser Jihad against Israel), money mostly squandered by corrupt rulers (Arafat, Mahmoud Abbas, and so many others) on their European apartments and houses, in such tony areas as La Croisette in Cannes (where Zuhair Mohsen had his apartment), or the Sixteenth Arrondissement of Paris, or Neuilly, and their children, all safely in the West with their Infidel-taxpayer-paid expensive educations, or if not squandered that way, then spent on weaponry of every sort to outfit an almost limitless number of separate "security" services, after the billions that disappeared at Arafat's death, after all this, to call putting a halt to Western taxpayers' being made forcibly, by their foolish elites, to transfer their own wealth to those "Palestinians," a "boycott" is to repeat, alas, the same phrase that the "Palestinians" themselves use: they call it a "boycott."
It is hardly a "boycott" to stop supplying money to those who do not wish Infidels well, who wish them ill, very ill indeed -- beginning, but certainly not ending, with the Infidels of Israel.
Sounds like the check just cleared:
Hamas launched a full-scale attack Tuesday afternoon against Fatah security bases and positions in Gaza, and succeeded in taking over a number of them, Israel Radio reported.

Instead of letting Turkey into the EU why not have Israel instead.
After all, look at the demographics.
Israel
Birth rate:
17.71 births/1,000 population (2007 est.)
Total fertility rate:
2.38 children born/woman (2007)
France
Birth rate:
12.91 births/1,000 population (2007 est.)
1.98 children born/woman (2007 est.)
United Kingdom
10.67 births/1,000 population (2007 est.)
1.66 children born/woman (2007 est.)
Looks like the Israelis could teach the Europeans a thing or two about fertility!
When I read that the EU will be insisting that Hamas, the terrorist organization, be funded by European tax-payers, I am reminded of Bat Ye'or's comments. She says that Europeans must make a choice -- do they want to become Islamic or do they wish to maintain their European values? I think the elites have chosen the former.
And when the European "elites" also insist that Israel must hand over money to Hamas, that is, to insist that Israelis pay their executioners -- I am reminded of something else. In the history of the Holocaust one reads how Germans were always intent upon making sure others conducted the actual executions -- that way, no German "conscience" would be "sullied." It was a deliberate tactic -- get the victims to do the "dirty work", get collaborators to do the ugly parts, and thus, the Germans would escape censure. How does the EU today differ from their nazi counter-parts?
I also think there's something very, very sick in Europe. It's akin to a suicidal impulse. It's listening to the Islamic siren song. They seem enchanted by it. Do they really believe that by feeding the crocodile they'll escape its jaws? Do they really think that by taking away every right for an Infidel's self defense -- for an Infidel's right to life (right to self-protection) they will, themselves, not face the same fate? -- that is, be stripped of all means of self-defense, then required (as a further demand) that any resources they have in their possession, they must give to their executioners.
Some "boycott."

This really just a transfer from one Muslim entity (Europe) to another (Hamas).
. . . and Israel with its ineffectual leadership will continue to absorb the blows of the Palanimals. Oh, with some half-hearted responses now and then.
Someone at one of these Comments sections asked what can be done to change the government of Israel. Change it to what? You-all think Netanyahu will be the man on a white horse to save the nation? He gave the Palanimals Hebron.
No, unless a Yehuda Maccabi appears, the buffeting and moral destruction of Israel will continue.
The way the government of Israel is set up, there is no representation with responsibility to the voters. The voters (Arabs and all) vote for a party. The winning party hands out ministerial positions. Could we say that Israel at this moment is being led by a bunch of castrated rams? Yes we could, we can, and we do say it.
Shimon Peres has just been elected President of Israel. Netanyahu backed Peres. (Netanyahu, at one time, was a fierce critic of Peres. How times change.)

If you want to contact your MEPs this is a good place to start.

Because of the proportional representation system you have 10 MEPs.
80% of the laws which govern Britain come from the Brussels Parliament, not the Westminster one , a disturbing thought.
J.S - you're quite right, the Nazis used to make their victims dig their own graves before massacring them. However, they were not shy about using their own hands to deal out torture and death (which included the horrific scientific experiments in the camps.)
Partly because of this there was a high level of drinking and drug-taking among the Nazis, not to mention a lot of rape and using Jewish and other prisoner-women in brothels, also in the camps.
I think the "Islamic siren song" you refer to is firstly, the potential population explosion politicians see a s potential votes for them;
but, too, the Islamists are working very very hard, all the time, at pushing their views, rules and behaviour onto Europe. Don't underestimate the legal, governmental, and social (especially in the universities) pressure most Islamic groups are exerting in European socities.
And, of course, the ultimate weapon - their explosive tantrums!
