Explosion kills one, wounds three in Christian area north of Beirut

"The Syrian regime has promised to turn Lebanon into hell." From The Associated Press, :

BEIRUT, Lebanon: A bomb went off near a Christian town north of Beirut on Thursday killing at least one man and wounding three others, in the latest string of explosions that have shaken Lebanon since fighting erupted between army troops and Islamic militants in a northern refugee camp three weeks ago.

Security officials, speaking on condition of anonymity as they were not authorized to talk to the media, said the blast occurred in an industrial area in the town of Zouk Mousbeh, about 20 kilometers (12 miles) from Beirut and near the town of Jounieh in the Christian heartland.

The explosion set off large fires in several buildings and black smoke was seen billowing from the area. Ambulances and fire engines raced to the scene, where mangled remains of cars destroyed in the blast lay overturned on the street.

Civil defense personnel pulled out the body of Pierre Dehni, whose nationality was not immediately known, from the wreckage of a gutted building. Two Syrian workers and a Lebanese man were also wounded in the blast, the officials said.

Al-Jazeera satellite television said a car bomb had caused the explosion but Lebanese officials could not immediately confirmed this. Firefighters said they expected to take hours to extinguish the blazes....

The blast late Thursday was the second in four days. On Monday, 10 people were injured when a bomb exploded in an empty passenger bus parked in the Christian neighborhood of Bouchrieh east of Beirut.

An anti-Syrian Cabinet minister blamed Syria for Thursday's blast and said there was a "direct link" to the ongoing battles between the Lebanese army and Fatah Islam militants in the northern Nahr el-Bared refugee camp.

"We are witnessing terrorist attacks on the people, government and army of Lebanon," Telecommunications Minister Marwan Hamadeh told The Associated Press. He added that "these attacks in many parts of Lebanon which are carried out by the Syrian intelligence services."...

Anti-Syrian Christian lawmaker Elias Atallah also blamed Syria for the blast. "A terrorist group is trying to destabilize the Lebanese situation," he told Al-Jazeera late Thursday. "The Syrian regime has promised to turn Lebanon into hell."

Greetings:

What we have here is a failure to Dhimmi-cate

And again, this gets back to what I keep calling for -- massive attack on Iran's military, Islamic regime and nuclear infrastructure, followed by a direct threat of action against Syria. If they continue to meddle in Israel and Lebanon's affairs, unload on them.

This war isn't a political game -- I wish Washington would stop treating it like one. The only message these thugs will understand is a violent one or impending violence following a good example.

Possibly the most alarming thing about Lebanon is that there is very little left of it to destroy. Nearly all of the pleasant, Europeanized land on the eastern Mediterranean has been wiped out and replaced with Islamic rubbish.

Presently, Lebanon is at most 30% Christian, down from more than 70% in the 1970s. The place has been transmogrified by Islamic warfare into yet another Third world outpost of misery where human life means nothing. We have Yasser Arafat, the PLO and the Iranian mullahs to thank for this. The EC (now the EU) can take a bow as well for its part in the financing of the PLO.

Syria is brazenly assisting in the Jihad Against Crusaders and Jews of bin Laden's (which is believed to have been absorbed into al-Qaeda). What has happened to Lebanon is a canary in the mineshaft. We should all beware.

So let's see: we invaded Iraq to remove a viscious fascist like dictator (okay - support that), but we turn the other cheek with respect to Syria's viscious fascist dictator which I believe (Robert and Hugh can correct me) was the inspiration for Saddam Hussein's Baath Party. Hmmmm We'll continue to do nothing to Syria (and Iran) and let Lebanon be destroyed and then it will come out that Syria really has been coopertaing with the US/Coalition forces on securing the Iraq/syria border or some such thing - so that makes everything okay. Right is right and wrong is wrong.

...it is the same is every area the Muslims take over...look at the western cities where Muslims reside..the housing areas are becoming urban ghettos where even the police do not want to go...In Many countries the Muslims have destroyed valuable farm lands, destroyed libraries, eliminated other religions, destroyed the cultures of ages old peoples, eliminated as many income producing jobs as possible, turned valued universities into cesspools of hate, and have educated the children to become cannon fodder for their Islamic slavemasters....

Muslims have nothing to offer which will improve your life....and you certainly must strive to keep them away from your lands...

One day we may see the headline: "Several bombs explode in Damascus, scores killed."

and

"Al-Jazeera satellite television said a car bomb had caused the explosion but Lebanese officials could not immediately confirmed this."

once again, we see Al_jazeera giving out the details of a Muslim attack before anyone else.....almost in a gloating manner....

on the side.....were the Lebanese officials not confirming that a car bomb caused the explosion or were the Lebanese officials not confirming the Al-Jazeera said it...

I suspect Al-Jazeera newscasts contain hidden messages to Islamic terrorists....

Is there a message here ?

Like we should be supporting the Lebanese Christians and not the islamists ?

Like we should be supporting the Serbs and not the Albanian islamists ?

We surely do have a lot of offal for brains politicians in the West.
