"He repeatedly shouted at his arresting officers that he hoped they would be killed."
Syed Hashmi Update. "Jihadi's airport tantrum," by Kati Cornell for the New York Post:
June 2, 2007 -- A Queens man accused of supplying military equipment to terrorists had a direct pipeline to al Qaeda's No. 3 leader and showed he was quick to turn violent at the time he was nabbed, attacking arresting officers in a London airport, prosecutors revealed.
Manhattan federal Judge Loretta Preska was quick to dismiss a bid for bail by Syed "Fahad" Hashmi after the feds detailed how the accused terror supporter showed his true colors as he was arrested while fleeing London for Pakistan last year.
"He was extremely violent," Assistant U.S. Attorney Lisa Baroni said, describing the outburst last June 6 at Heathrow Airport. "He repeatedly shouted at his arresting officers that he hoped they would be killed."
Hashmi, who was brought to New York from London last week after nearly a year fighting extradition, faces up to 50 years behind bars for allegedly providing material support to al Qaeda by holding military gear to be worn by jihad fighters in his apartment.
Hashmi shipped the goods - primarily rain gear - to Sheik Abdul Hadi al-Iraqi in Pakistan, an al Qaeda leader who was running anti-U.S. military operations in Afghanistan at the time, the feds said.
Defense lawyer Sean Maher unsuccessfully argued that Hashmi should await trial at his parents' Flushing home, instead of solitary confinement at the Metropolitan Correctional Center, calling him a "humanitarian" and "an intellectual, not a terrorist."
who would have thought that a muslim jihadists would be violent.............
...especially since he's considered a "humanitarian" & "an intellectual".
Who'da thunk it?
lol
The time will come when there are so many jihadists all around us that arrest, arraignment, etc. in the courts will no longer be possible. When that happens . . . one jihadist, one bullet.
Sorry, sounds horrible . . . now. But in the future, it will be the only way to cope with the problem.
Traipse the high moral road and you die. Become practical, and you survive to fight another day.
The choice will be yours.
If you are sensitive, refined, as I am, you got to change . . . or die. Sorry. The truth is soooo awful.
Interesting - I do not remember anything about the trouble at Heathrow being reported in the UK but I do not watch much television. But British defence lawyers in all terror cases do seem to be good at finding legal reasons for excluding any evidence that might lead to their client being found guilty.
I wonder what his year long fight against extradition cost the taxpayer, top lawyers do not come cheap and I would bet he was not paying.
Islam is a plague upon the earth....
it is interesting to note, The suspects all appear to be older than we have become accustomed to seeing...
..I wonder if Trinidads local militant Muslim group, otherwise known as Jaamat-al Muslimeen is involved.....
Send him to China - offshore the justice process. They will expedite and send a bill to his relatives for the ammunition.
Everybody's happy.
Bury this mutant under the prison
"He repeatedly shouted at his arresting officers that he hoped they would be killed."
Is that appropriate behavior for someone whose supporters call him "humanitarian" and "an intellectual, not a terrorist."
When was the dictionary rewritten?
His intellectualism is in doubt, but there is no doubt about his 'humanitarian terrorism'. Sounds like an oxymoron, but, terrorism, when performed on behalf of Allah, is a humanitarian act, in that it further's the cause of Islam, thus advancing the cause of humanity. Humanity for Islam, include's only muslims. The rest dont count except for tax paying dhimmi's.
Remove appendages and remit to Umma.
An intellectual, because he convinced the att.
Hashmi sounds like a real spoiled NUT! I have heard people make threats like that before, they are disturbed! Like a over spoiled brat! Just because he sounds like a kid doesn't mean he can go to mommies house!...wha whaaaaa
"...Hashmi, who was brought to New York from London last week after nearly a year fighting extradition,...", why we can't find the global jihad as a police action. It took less time to get throught the Wehrmacht from Omaha Beach to Berlin.
