Fitzgerald: What the presidential candidates should do

Fred Thompson has denounced CAIR. Good. Now Thompson has to inject into the public discourse the word "Jizyah" -- he, or Tancredo, or others. That word, and what it means, has to be introduced into the national consciousness. Merely using it in a speech, or in speech after speech, and explaining its meaning, will do much to rectify the complete failure of the Bush Administration -- from which all Republican candidates, to be successful, should be distancing themselves as noisily and publicly as possible -- to educate, to instruct, the public about Islam.

Instead, Administration officials continue nattering on about how splendid Islam itself is. Only a "handful," they say -- oh, they're a handful all right – of the "radical wing of the Islamist wing of the extremist wing" (fill up the page, printer, with more of the same) have "hijacked a great religion." That is why we are apparently, as long as Bush and Rice and others are in power, condemned to being instructed that we are fighting a "war on terror."

Those candidates for President should begin to demand an end to the "payment of the disguised Jizyah of aid." They should explain that the forcible diversion of non-Muslim taxpayers' money by their own government elites (who are ignorant, confused, not knowing what or how to deal with Islam, either abroad or within the Western world) is wrong. The diversion of money from non-Muslim states to Muslim regimes and peoples is exactly the wrong thing to do. For that aid simply increases the opportunities for corruption, and corruption, in turn, always leads to those who are not in on the corruption to turn to Islam as their solace.

As Islam is the belief-system, the only one possible, that serves as a prism through which to view that corruption, they declare it un-Islamic -- to which the only answer is not merely “more honesty” but rather “more Islam.” And the answer -- of Hamas, of the Ikhwan in Egypt -- of “more Islam” always makes things more dangerous for Infidels, whatever its effect within the states of Dar al-Islam. When that aid from Infidels is not only squandered, but pocketed by the Arafats and Mahmoud Abbases, the Mubaraks (father and son) and others in the ruling group, this wins no “hearts and minds” among the population. That population sees the corruption. For that matter, it wins no hearts and no minds among the corrupt rulers themselves.

There is no gratitude and there cannot be, given the hostility toward Infidels inculcated by the Total Belief-System of Islam, which divides the world uncompromisingly between Believer and Infidel. And the payment of this Jizyah does two other things. It sets up the idea in the minds of Muslims who receive the aid that it is theirs by right, it is owed to them by the Infidels. And they act according to that belief. Just look at the “Palestinian” Arabs using such absurd terms as “embargo” and “boycott” to describe the refusal of Infidel states to give aid to Hamas, or to a Hamas-linked government. What a peculiar definition -- though not too peculiar, apparently, for Western media not to repeat without question such words -- to apply to a halt in foreign aid that the Muslim recipients have done nothing to deserve. They have been on the permanent UNRWA dole for nearly sixty years, with the roles constantly expanding. They now exhibit the bland assumption that they will always be taken care of by others. This assumption comes naturally, as do those long hours of idleness, with hubble-bubble pipes and dominos and endless hours of television relieved only by marching around and constantly planning attacks, and sometimes carrying them out, against the perfidious Israelis. Those Israelis, meanwhile, were without any aid at all before 1967, and took in millions of impoverished Jewish refugees from the Arab lands (more Jews fled Arab lands than the reverse), from Russia, from Ethiopia, and several dozen other countries.

The payment by Infidels, the further transfer of wealth beyond the ten trillion dollars paid to OPEC Muslim nations since 1973, also has a bad affect on the donors. They have come to act as if, and apparently to believe, that they simply must continue such payments if at all possible, for it is their duty. The absurdity of this, when Saudi Arabia alone takes in, quite undeservedly, nearly one billion dollars a day, and when the money piles up in Kuwait and the Emirates and Qatar, and yet the Muslims lift not a finger to help their fellow Muslims except for payments to suicide bombers and for every kind of weaponry and propaganda campaigns directed against Israel or other Infidel states, needs to be recognized.

Everyone is waiting for a Presidential candidate to start speaking about such things truthfully. And if he does so while also distancing himself from Tarbaby Iraq, showing why it makes no sense in the larger scheme of things in the war of self-defense against the Jihad, such a candidate is likely to be unbeatable.

And should be.

As long as the opinion that "everything can be solved with diplomacy" resides in the Department of State, we will have this problem. The disconnect between intelligence and education has the most impact here.

Remember that Dr. Rice still thinks of airey clouds and pink colored rainbows. I would rather have a plumber running the State Department!

I've been watching Fred for a while now, and he looks better every day. He knows where it's at on 2nd Amendment issues, immigration, off-shoring, border security, and it looks like he has Islam's number. If any one will drop the J-bomb, it will be this Distinguished Gentleman from Tennessee.
Run Fred, Run!

I have Emailed potential presidential candidate Fred Thompson in the past week; My comment to him was that I would be voting for a candidate that could better demonstrate an understanding of fundamental Islam. Assuming that he or his assistance may read it, I also incouraged him to seek out several experts on Islam (not people affiliated with CAIR).

No question about it; the Western world has got to develope a greater understanding of how the Islamic world thinks in relation to the Qu'ran, hadiths, and sharia.

"You must be able to define your enemy to defeat him"

General Douglas MacArthur

Excellent article with a great topic, another necessary way of fighting the islamists. Look, we have all seen it again and again, these people need to be led by the hand. Do you see what is happening so far? Well this is only the beginning so hold on to your hats Americans. These politicians will do anything say anything to get the peoples vote. In the past the people have listened and responded even though many times the pols never followed through with their promises. The people knew they were being lied to but things were going along ok so we ignored it. No more, the people are listening to what is said how it is said as well as what is not said. We are looking for the hard-hitting truth, we are itching for a politician to challenge us with the truth and what we should do about it. I hear it from people everyday, the guvment, what do they want me to do in this war how should I “make sacrifices”, the world, tell me what I already know, validate my view seal the deal for me. It is going to get rougher before this is over we haven’t seen an all out and wide open ideological election in over 50 years. So keep throwing down bread crumbs for them, who knows where it will lead them/us, no matter where it leads it is bound to be exciting and surprising.

What about Ron Paul?

I was thrilled to read your post as this is what I have been doing to both Fred and Newt for 2 months now. I'm glad I'm not alone. We need to let them know they will have alot of support in taking a position that the others fear to get near (except, in a minor way, Tancredo).

I have not heard Fred's official position on Iraq and the WOT. I am hoping he will oppose it on grounds more akin to what Hugh has been arguing. He is to officially announce over July 4th weekend. If he wants to make some noise when he announces, emphasizing the spread of Islam and using terms like "jizya", "sharia", and dhimmitude, would be a great way. He would get a load of extra media attention, and, as Hugh states, " such a candidate is likely to be unbeatable."

I've heard Newt say recently that we need to continue the war in Iraq. He constantly analogizes Iraq to events in U.S. History to support his arguments. As far as I'm concerned, any candidate who supports the war in Iraq is no different from Bush and shows nothing to me as far as really understanding Islam. I like the idea that Newt is grounded in history, but never a bit of Islamic history. My emails to Newt include pleas to READ SOME FREAKIN' ISLAMIC HISTORY instead.

Of Newt or Fred T., Newt has more bravado , and would be more inclined to take the bold position, but his bravado is the same thing that turns many voters against him. Newt is also a great debater. I think he would outshine any candidate in a group "debate" of the type recently held.

Front-runner candidate Obama should cancel his candidacy. (I know he won't, but he SHOULD).

He's a Muslim (while lying to the American public about it).

Islam should be outlawed in America and all Muslims (including Barack Obama) should be deported for the sake of out peoples' safety.

Obama is dangerous to our country's survival.

If Islam had our firepower, we would all be dead or utterly enslaved by now.

This is what Western "leaders" do not grasp.

We are not bargaining with an honest broker.

We are battling for our existence and freedom against a global theocratic tyranny.

It will use all of our legal and emotional and cultural and religious weakenesses to undermine us until Mohammedans gain equal military power.

Then it can wait us out demographically.

Immigration of these infil-traitors should be stopped, then reversed.

Until Islam reforms the violence out of its "holy" dogmas Muslims should be contained, not entertained.

He does have to get into the race. Incidentally, there was some poll out there where I saw Tancredo @ 5%, but McCain @ 5%. Maybe there is hope after all?

At any rate, for now, I'm still backing Romney, although I'm open to Thomson should he say more, like Romney has, about Islam.

Stop feeding our enemies? Stop the millions and billions of our hard-earned tax money that we beg them to take from us? Stop groveling for their affection in a vein attempt to “win their hearts and minds”? Stop asking Hamas to lie like Arafat so that we can give them money directly instead of through the UN? Stop the excuse-making for giving Jizyah disguised as good-will and wonder why we get ill-will in return? Stop playing the co-dependent that feeds the habit of those that despise us?

Which candidate is ready to do that? Are you running Hugh?

Sad,
Take a good look at the candidates, some of them, lets see on one side a sometimes, sometimes not black supremacist, it depends on who he is talking to and what he wants out of them. And, is he a muslim, I thought you could check out but you can never leave, once a muslim always a muslim, true? An abused wife, angry? I would be. Are there any pictures of her in a hijab from the arafish suck up days? Oh she’s a Senator from NY another strike, how many is out? Then the few who will debate in Spanish but they won’t talk to foxnews, morons. Dennis, oh come on. Durban, dunce, hey sorry but I didn’t teach him what he doesn’t know. If I were a member of that party I would be embarrassed with, how many, ten, many of them clowns. Ok on the other side, Rudy, great post September eleventh mayor, bad gun rights advocate so see ya. John McDracula is busy pounding a stake into his own chest on this amnesty for criminals gig, so again bye bye. Ron Paul! Well aren’t those two words his whole campaign? Mitt, seems like a good and nice guy but do I really want a good nice guy right now? Newt, wont run. Fred! Hasn’t entered the race yet. The Tank and the Hunter well what can I say, great Americans but we need them where they are right now to provide some adult supervision over the house. Did I miss any, probably but no matter if you cant draw 10% you should really not embarrass yourself or waste our time any further.

Any candidate who does as Hugh suggests will risk having hundreds of million of those undeserved petrodollars marshalled against him. He will be demonized by other politicians and by the MSM, both the paid prostitutes and those who just do such things out of malice, and will have every foul resource of our enemies directed toward his defeat. His message will be distorted, garbled, and transformed into some kind of nazi-like call for annihilation of the arabs. It will take someone with Churchillian resolve, great eloquence, and an RFE-like unfiltered channel to reach the American people. The internet alone will not be enough. Godspeed his candidacy.

Hugh's arguments are excellent. I would add that any candidate running for office should have the decency to explain how his or her policies will benefit the electorate. I really got sick of hearing Bush talk about freedom for the Iraqi people. What's in it for us? So far, not much. I also get the impression that neither Bush nor Rice will ever criticize Islam directly for fear of offending the oil sheiks, though they may actually be ignorant enough about Islam to respect it.
