Good thing the U.S. gave Fatah those weapons, so that they could hold back these Hamas maniacs, eh?
By Ezra HaLevi for Israel National News, with thanks to Sr. Soph:
(IsraelNN.com) The civil war between Hamas and Fatah terrorists raged on in Gaza Wednesday, with Hamas on the verge of victory. Hamas seized thousands of weapons and vehicles granted to Fatah by the Oslo Accords.A Hamas spokesman said that a decision had been taken to kill all of Fatah’s leading officials, who he referred to as “dogs beholden to their Israeli masters.”
Hamas has distributed a list of at least 30 Fatah officials it seeks to have killed for complicity, they say, in a US-backed plan to topple Hamas. The first name is senior Fatah terrorist Mohammed Dahlan, who holds the position of National Security Adviser in the Fatah-Hamas PA unity government. He has been hiding out in Egypt for the past two months. Many of the other Fatah men on the list have fled Gaza.
Hamas took over nearly all Fatah positions in Gaza and confiscated thousands of rifles, tons of ammunition and armored jeeps and APCs supplied by the US, Egypt and Israel over the years.
One might hope that this would lead the U.S. and Israel to stop supplying these weapons, but that would be hoping against hope.
The Middle East/Palestinian mantra for decades:
Peace is at hand.
Oops, somebody cut the hand off.
As it has happened every other time something seemed promising (Sadat, Oslo, etc.) in the past... because the West & somehow Israel all think they are dealing with an "honest broker".
Instead of one more tentacle of radical Islam and the ever-recurrent Mohammedan Jihad.
Constrained by our leaders bad analogies, the West sinks deeper in this fruitless delusion.
(Unless increasing mayhem and terror is now considered a fruit.)
Send Condi!

Am I the only one who could forsee this? Am I the only intelligent person left in the world? (besides the many JW readers, of course.) Is everyone in the US and Israeli governments idiots?
Seymour...One half of the American government is idiotic, the other half are just plain stupid. Together they form the word, 'stuporidiotic', I just made that up, but it doe's fit most of our leading politician's, and some wanna-be's...
Hamas Publishes Fatah Hit-List, Confiscates US-Supplied Weapons
The American taxpayer is proud to have provided these weapons and training to with them.
Say, don't spend that $250 million dollars in US aid in one place.
George has a box of watches he like to sent, but they seemed to have been misplaced in Albania.
@duh_swami
They are not so much stupid, but just corrupt. Somebody will make a buck out of it, preferably Bush's friends.

I got a good laugh out of that one profits, thanks.
Westerners are quite silly and naive aren't they?

Exactly my point:

It also helps free up some of that Iranian money to better fund the Taleban.

What a mess Condi Rice's "mushroom cloud" head is, as is her "foreign policy". First, against everyone's advice, she pushes for democratic Palestinian elections and gets the Hamas government. Then, she decides she does not like the outcome of the election, so she pushes for shipping weapons to Fatah. Hamas now has them all. Ballot or bullet, Condi lost both times.

Well that was money well spent. Hey Bush, lets send them a few hundred billion more dollars-maybe they'll like us, maybe they'll like each other, maybe they'll like the jews-or maybe they will just like the free money...
Thats it, I'm sailing off the deep end now, bye bye...

I am reminded of the climax of Stephen King's book Needful Things. Devil-figure Leland Gaunt, who's spent his time in Castle Rock stoking envy and hatred, reverts from selling his fake antiquities to selling guns, and the market is brisk. As King puts it, on his last days in a town, Gaunt always brought out his concluding merchandise -- guns -- and the townsfolk always bought.
Envious and hate-filled? The Palestinians? Did I really say that? Oops. Can't be, right? They're victims. Cut to commercial.
