TEHRAN, June 12 (Reuters) - Iran will make the United States "regret" its detention of five Iranians in Iraq since early this year, Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said on Tuesday.Iran says the five Iranians detained by U.S. forces in the northern Iraqi city of Arbil in January are diplomats and has demanded their release. U.S. officials say they were involved in supporting militants inside Iraq.
"We will make the Americans regret their ugly and illegal action against the Islamic Republic of Iran's consulate in Arbil, Iraq, and the abduction of the five Iranian diplomats," Mottaki said, according to the state broadcaster's Web site.
Mottaki said the Foreign Ministry had "put on its agenda a series of widespread actions against these unlawful and illegal actions that are in contradiction with all international conventions," the ISNA news agency said, without giving details.
The issue has fuelled tension between the two old foes at a time of a worsening standoff over Iran's disputed nuclear programme, which the West suspects is aimed at making atom bombs. Tehran says its programme is peaceful.
Further souring relations, Iran is holding three Iranian-Americans on security-related charges. Tehran has dismissed any suggestions their cases might be linked to the five Iranians held in Iraq.
From a Fox news story on these captured 'diplomats': The Defense officials also confirmed to FOX News that in recent days there has been significant success in tracking down "known bad guys" based on information from local citizens. While those captured aren't from the list of former regime members or from terror leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi's (search) network, they are "active" bombers and organizers of recent violence.
So, now muslims are calling murdering thugs, 'diplomats'.
It was okay for Iran to hold British sailors hostage on trumped-up charges, though !
I thought that to the Iranians, taking diplomats hostage was totally okay. They did hold our diplomats for 444 days, didn't they?
Every form of pressure and warfare must be applied to the Iranians, including :

and "we take out your leadership" ops
They must be made to feel pressure to the max such that we can hear it in their communiques.
Do these experts on international law think we have forgotten the "original" Iranian Hostage Crisis, during the tenure of His Impotent Self-Righteousness, Jimmy Carter? When they took REAL diplomats hostage, by invading our sovereign territory, a legal embassy? Yeah, most of us probably have... Not many on this list, though.
Their current ferret-in-chief was a player in that unanswered act of war, as I recall. We still owe them some fire and steel payback on that one, with STEEP,compound interest. Here's hoping they collect.
This means they will try the 4 Iranian Americans for espionage and execute them. I am so sick of the Iranian regime, and really can't wait until we put them back in their place, although I doubt it will be this year.

China-Iran: Iran’s Oil Minister said Iran is negotiating with China to store Iran’s strategic oil reserves in China as a safeguard against potential Western economic sanctions. Chinese cooperation on sanctions is probably not likely.

Kuwait: For the record, Defense Minister Sheikh Jaber al-Sabah said today Kuwait would refuse any request from the US to use its territory to launch an attack against Iran. Bahrain already has adopted the same position. These statements are for domestic consumption to reassure their large Shiite populations that their governments are not supporting a US attack. If the US attacks Iran, these statements won’t save them.

I think China WILL go for it, in order to secure Iran's oil from the US. China, and also Russia, are known to suck up to oil-rich enemies of the USA.

Desperately grasping for any excuse to justify their impending attack...and the closer to target date they get without finding one (which they are, since we're denying them one by not biting their bait), the more desperate, louder, and frantic they'll get (since they know we know their playbook, too)...only to screw up the harder it is attempted.
