Material to make bombs is stolen

Terrorism not ruled out. And this is the material jihadists have used more than once in the past.

By Robert Patrick in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch (thanks to Morgaan Sinclair):

Explosives capable of causing "extensive damage" have been stolen from a St. Charles County firing range used by the sheriff's office and the FBI, federal officials said Tuesday.

Officials are still trying to determine how much dynamite, C-4 and other explosives were taken and exactly who was responsible.

Mike Schmitz of the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives said investigators believe more than one person was involved in the theft, but it is too early to know the intent of the thieves, including whether terrorism could be involved.

The theft, discovered by the FBI on Tuesday, happened sometime in the past 10 days.

The explosives, including C-4, dynamite and safety fuse, were being stored at the St. Charles County training center and firearms range at 1835 South Highway 94, Schmitz said. The range is located in a rural area.

They were stored properly in the federally approved storage magazine, which resembles a large construction Dumpster, Schmitz said.

The metal explosives magazine where the materials were stored is used by the FBI and the sheriff's office for training and for rendering other explosives or suspected explosives safe, Schmitz said.

"These items are all extremely dangerous," Schmitz said.

Dynamite is a nitroglycerin-based high explosive. C-4 is a military-grade plastic explosive, more powerful than TNT, that has been used by al-Qaida and other terrorist groups.

C-4 was the explosive used in the destroyer Cole attack in 2000, a suicide bombing that killed 17 sailors and wounded dozens of others while the ship was in a Yemeni port. Terrorists used it in 1996 to blow up an American military housing complex in Saudi Arabia, killing 19 Air Force servicemen. Hundreds were injured.

It was also the substance in the shoe of attempted shoe bomber Richard Reid, convicted of trying to blow up a trans-Atlantic flight a few months after the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

It will be interesting to see how the cops spin this one -- bet it just dies after a few weeks and the whole issue is swept under the rug and forgotten.

Here's another article by the same fellow, Robert Patrick that might be of interest.

8 indicted in weapon conspiracy

And the original article was covered by Foehammer a while back. Mousa M. Abuelawi, 22, Palestinian immigrant... works hard to repay America:

http://foehammer.net/2007/02/muslim-immigrant-was-arming-for-war-in-america.html

“Noble said that the thief or thieves somehow got past the locks."
Doh, inside job? One of the moderates the FBI has reached out to? Memo to law enforcement, if you give islamists the keys to the store do not be mystified when they walk off with your weapons.

Mousa M. Abuelawi lived in St. Charles and no doubt still has family/friends there in that well-to-do neighborhood in middle America. The Gang wars are still on I guess.

Abdikarin Warsame has won the lottery a few times. Lucky guy.

Still no word on how Abuelawi and co. retained the highest paid attorney in St. Louis.

Seem to remember Robert Kennedy was killed by a
'grateful' Palestinian. Since George W's Love Fest
with Albanians-maybe they've decided to put on
a Fireworks Display for Prez.Unfortunately, being
poor need to steal ingredients for a supa dooper

It'll turn out to be vacuum cleaners again; move along folks, false alarm...

Mousa M. Abuelawi, 22, of 20 Franjoe Court, was arrested and charged Dec. 29 with three counts of possessing or distributing machine guns and one count of conspiring to violate federal firearms statutes.

In an affidavit, an FBI investigator outlined several accounts in which the suspect allegedly engaged in buying or delivering machine guns. The transactions allegedly took place at a Gas Mart convenience store off West Florissant Avenue in St. Louis where Abuelawi worked and at a nearby Phillips 66 gas station.

Jan Diltz, director of public affairs for the U.S. District Attorney's office, said Abuelawi has been accused of receiving, possessing and transferring machine guns. Court documents were made public Thursday, she said.

According to documents,
***Abuelawi, who is originally from Jordan, lives with two brothers, two sisters-in-law and three nieces at the residence on Franjoe Court in a subdivision off Kisker Road, near Highway 94 South.***

Use Google maps: 20 franjoe court, st charles, mo

Another home on that street was listed for $200k so it is more of a middle class neighborhood from my estimation.

Sound's like an inside job to me. The article doe's not say how entry was obtained. Key's maybe? Better check out in house before they go out of house...

I live in St. Louis. July 4 is HUGH here, what with being the "Gateway to the West". Hundreds of thousands on the Mississippi next to the Gateway Arch..1st thing that crossed my mind and not being the sharpest pencil in the box no doubt it's occurred to "others" in Dar al Harb. So many shopping centers as well...personally I'm very disappointed about security around these explosives...specifically why weren't there actual human beings, surveillance camerss, the whole package around them rather than locks in a big metal dumpster as best I could gather reading the paper this AM...Buena Suerte ("good luck") for us locals..pray it isn't used here or anywhere else and they get to those responsible PRIOR

Is it my imagination, or does there seem to be a speeding up and rapid increase of threats and actions almost as if their underground is saying go for it now?

Here is something else to keep in mind, especially in light of Ft. Dix. St. Louis is home to the largest number and concentration of Bosnians outside of the former Soviet state.

The building probably was locked only by a padloce and was probably unguarded....Keystone Kops in action...

terrorism not ruled out in 0.000003 seconds this time?
Buzz word for "white guys did it".

I know this area, & know the BATF gestapo mentality there (they operate out of the St Louis office 30 miles east of there)...my son's mom is from there.
If mOslems did it, there would be "no evidence to suggest terrorism", and everyone knows it.

Though the act isn't funny at all, the surprising innuendo that they have not ruled out terrorism is a really big clue jihadists didn't do it...it's prohibited for them to "racially profile", and they're not kidding anyone.

What a goatf**k...

In any case, it would be a good idea to microchip these substances and explosives (like we do with cats and cars) to keep track of them when they are stolen? I think that should be mandated for such things.

Good idea, Frank, but impractical...
C4 can be broke up and thus evade such IDs.
The caps/dets are already serial numbered, but that's it.
Still, ya got the right idea, Frank...keep 'em coming.

Nodak-

Yes, St. Louis has a colorful history when it comes to Islamic Jihad:
(in no particular order)

• Mujahid Abdulqaadir Menepta (friend and co-conspirator of Moussaoui)
• Randall Todd “Ismail” Royer (CAIR, Virginia jihad network)
• Asim Haroon (marriage fraud, muslim wife beater)
• Ziyad Khalil (sent sat. phone to OBL to use for 1998 US Embassy Bombings in Africa)
• Muneer Arafat (closely associated with al-Qaeda agents since at least 1998)
• CAIR-St. Louis executive director is member of U.S. Attorney's Hate Crimes Task Force
• CAIR-St. Louis Conducted training at FBI headquarters in St. Louis
• Muhammad Nur Abdullah (Last President of ISNA, Darfur apologist)
• 70 - 100k Muslims from Bangladesh, Pakistan, India, Afghanistan and Bosnia
• Zein Isa (Supporter of Abu Nidal, and butchered daughter Palistina caught on FBI tape)
• Mousa M. Abuelawi, Thaer Abde Sumad, Abdikarin Warsame, Charley M. HuntT Jr., Darnell T. Thornton, Hussein Ali Nure, Mohamed Judeh, and Otha L. Baker (8 Muslims charged w/buying automatic weapons and explosives)
• Over 70,000 Bosnian Americans (Thanks Bill!)
• Cell Phone Jihad activity that went unreported

There are more but these stand out to me as remarkable in various ways.

Not on par with Dearbornistan or Norman, OK but well on its way.

The hope for St. Louis may be tied to the fact that the NRA just had its greatest outing ever right downtown.

The theft, discovered by the FBI on Tuesday, happened sometime in the past 10 days.

Do they mean that this storage connex was left unguarded for ten days?! Ten goddam days!!! Who is in charge? Find him and fire him.

A WalMart's guns and ammunition are secured better. Our local store is open 24-7.

Another reason to outlaw Islam ASAP and start deporting Muslims from US soil.

How many more incidents like this do we need???

Explosives capable of causing "extensive damage" have been stolen from a St. Charles County firing range used by the sheriff's office and the FBI, federal officials said Tuesday.

Lack of responsibility in this county is unexcusable. It's matter of time ...they hear a "boom, boom, boom" and innocent people harmed or lose their lives.

Dang...they do need to be fired and bring in authorities who are serious about protecting people. They should have had that place guarded and camera's up.

I may mispell words sometimes...lol. But you know what it means (unexcusable). It suppose to be inexcusable :)

I can only hope that those who personally allowed this ongoing infiltration will be the ones who receive its explosive attention.

Since nothing seems to wake them, let them go to glory.

And make room for some who might fight.

I'm hoping these 'protectors' of our security do not come begging for shelter or protection if we get hit nationwide. Supplies will be limited. Prayers and the 2nd Amendment will be better than some of our political 'professionals'.......
