He was officially welcomed at Tehran Mehrabad International Airport by his Iranian counterpart Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
In a ceremony held at the mausoleum of the Founder of the Islamic Republic in southern Tehran, the Nicaraguan president laid a wreath on the Imam's grave.
After attending the ceremony, he signed the memorial book of the late Imam Khomeini.

Leftists don't believe that Islam itself is a problem. Perhaps they say, "Surely this crap will disappear over time; and meanwhile, we can unite to undermine the West."
I'd like a resource that tells the story of the leftist-Islamic alliance in Iran. My recollection is that Khomeini smiled broadly in Paris, but when the revolution was won, he exiled or killed those who imagined that they would be the exilers.
A wreath? As in flowers? The old man must be rolling over. Flowers are too bright and colorful and fun for the old Islamic fart. I'm sure he'd appreciate a severed infidel head on his grave instead, or a two year old virgin.

I'll bet the sheep, cows and camels in his village scattered in terror when thay saw little Khomeini comming. The slaughter of livestock couldn't have endeared him to the farmers either.
The communists have aligned with the jihadists because both espouse supremacist, totalitarian, collectivist ideologies. The communists are playing the fools game of thinking they can control the jihadists once they rise to power. Well a couple of years ago I was in Colombia visiting my in-laws with my family.
After swimming near a fishing village I went for a walk with a couple of my brother in-laws through that village. It was as poor a place as I've evr seen in my life. As we rounded a corner a small house that looked well constructed and clean stood out. The home had a sign in front of it that said in Spanish "Islamic Fundamentalist School".
My eyes shot out of head and I told my brother in-laws that this was a very bad sign for this area. They both were completely clueless about Islam, but I fear that the Caribbean and South America with its almost endless supply of impoverished people are easy pickings for this bunch.
I don't believe that communism and Islam are compatible, what I think is that poverty and Islam are very compatible. That is why Islam grew so fast in the poorest countries of Africa, they provide clothing, food and shelter in exchange for your soul. Many cannot resist when they feel they have nothing left.
Communism and Islam are not, at the margins, compatible. Both, however, preach submission of the individual to the group will, that a person's value lies not as an individual but only so far as they contribute to the group, that there need not and cannot be moral constraints on the pursuit of group goals, that the group should and must eliminate all opposition, and that deserters must face terrible punishment. Both espouse corrupting the institutions of unbelievers by infiltration from within, propaganda, and intimidation. Both claim that the abuses they heap upon you are for your own good. If Islam didn't claim to have the imprimatur of a god I'm not sure there would be any real differences. That's not to say Islam isn't more dangerous: saying that God approves of your depraved and rapacious acts is a powerful means of disinhibition, and its nauseating micromanagement of your life is very appealing to a certain sort of weak, easily led personality.

The problem with so many non-Muslims (particularly on the left) is that they do not understand the Bourgeois-Pig-Imperialist nature of Islam. It is essentially the engine of Arab Imperialism. The Muslim-Supremacist-Pigs (no different than the British, Manchu, Aztec, etc.) pretend that Western Imperialism is somehow unique to history. However, Imperialism is history.
Islam is the most effective Imperialist-Pig-Rationalization system (that justifies subduing and destruction of "indigenous cultures" and indigenous peoples") in history. Of course, as with all Imperialist-Pig systems, they rewrite history to create a mythic-ally "good" reason why the imperialism benefited the conquered peoples. But these Muslim Imperialist-Pigs owe an apology to the conquered in India, at Constantinople, in Darfur, and everywhere these running dogs of Muslim-Pig-imperialism have destroyed Indigenous cultures" and "indigenous peoples".
In the not too distant future Muslim Imperialism will have to join all the other Imperialist systems on the ash-heap of history. Islam should be part of an "Imperialist Studies" program (that includes every other group's crap in this matter). It is time for critical analysis of this front for (mainly Arab) Imperialism. It is just another Imperialist-Pig-Front for conquest and destruction of "indigenous cultures" and "indigenous peoples". It is no different than British or other Imperialist systems in its rationalizations for subduing and dominating "the other".

After Fidel dies, Ahmadinejad can spend his summer vacation away from the responsibilites of rule in Tehran, taking a course in Cuba on Spanish For Despots. And after class, before returning to do his audiovisual homework (listening to speeches by Castro, and Chavez, and the Ortegas, and Juan and Evita Peron, and analyzing the appeal of their rhetoric), he can visit, every day, the grave of the Maximum Leader, and put flowers on that grave.

I've read an AP report or something done by Fox News on the jihadist efforts in the Argentian, Paraguay, Uruguay tri-border area. This is all going to get way worse before it's over and we'll be fighting insurgents in South America as well as on US real estate, Australia, Europe, Africa and Asia.
