In medieval times, people created fairy tales and magical creatures to make sense of their world. One of the most endearing is the unicorn, a horse with a single horn that symbolized purity and wholesomeness. In our modern times, people in Europe and the United States consider themselves more sophisticated and rational than people from the Middle Ages, but we still create myths, albeit more subtle ones.

Daily we hear reports of violent acts committed by Islamic terrorists on every inhabited continent. We try to wish it away with the myth of the ‘Moderate Muslim’, telling ourselves the Islamic agenda has been’ hijacked’ by a ‘tiny minority of extremists’ and that soon the huge, silent, moderate majority of Muslims will take charge and change things. However, post 9/11 very few Muslims have condemned terrorist actions. We are still waiting for moderates to stand and deliver, identifying and removing extremist thugs from their mosques and their communities. Waiting for this self-correction is our modern version of unicorn hunting.

Moderate Muslims will not be able to wrest control of the agenda for several reasons. First of all, Mohammed, the Messenger of Allah’s eternal word, was not moderate. No moderate can legitimately tell another Muslim to stop doing the extremist things Mohammed himself did. Also, the Qur’an condones violence and coercion to further the Islamic agenda. People whom we call moderates are labeled hypocrites by Allah Himself in the Qur’an. Moderates will always lose the argument because, as ex-Muslim author Ibn Warraq says, “There may be moderates in Islam but Islam itself is not moderate.”

Islamic expert Daniel Pipes and others estimate ten percent of the Islamic world to be militant. In 1933 when the Nazi party took control of Germany it had 2 million members, comprising only three percent of Germany’s sixty-six million citizens. A tiny minority of extremists can control a vast number of moderates, making them irrelevant.

Placing hope in ‘The Moderate Muslim’ is like searching for unicorns in the forest.

You have to stop that critical analysis, Robert. They fear that, must silence that. It's your thoughts, not your emotions, that frighten them. Hence they resort to appeals to emotion.

That is like Insurance companies trying to educate against the fear of car accidents, instead of educating people on safe driving and proper use of a motor vehicle.

The anti-gun people certainly push fear of guns, and don't believe in educating people in the proper use of a gun. So does that make the left gun-aphobic?

Stop that critical analysis. Such use of logic can be dangerous with people who fear critical analysis, who wish to silence it.

Does Russia realize what they are allowing in their own territories? They are planting the seeds of Tatarstan, Dagestan, Bashkortostan and other Islamic enclaves to become other Chechnyas.

That's right! Hold a conference on how to prevent something that has never existed.

A phobia is an obsessive or irrational anxiety or fear. No one's concern about the danger posed by Islam meets that definition.

These young kids would be better off holding a conference to help Muslims get over their fear of infidels. "Infidelophobia" is serious problem in the Islamic world.

What is rational about the idea that "as a principle, we believe that Jews and Christians will always do everything in order to keep Muslims far from their religion"?

Two thousand Christians in a population of 1.3 million Muslims have Gaza's leaders quaking in their boots. Who has the phobia?

Because the AIPAC has been very effective in silencing and intimidating any critics of Israel, which is by the way is not a Jewish state by definition. Islamaphobia is an absurd coined term. Fear of Islam as it existed historically, and as it is applied today, is anything but irrational, contrary to what that "Zionaphobic" simpleton progressive claims it to be.

But will the OIC teach THIS part of the Kuran to the youth members: "and when the forbidden months have passed, slay the unbelievers everywhere they are found; besiege them, capture them, torture them, prepare every stratagem of warfare against them; levy the poor tax upon their conversion to the ways of al-lah, lo the ways of al-lah are indeed merciful"??

Perhaps behind closed doors? (So that the Americans won't find out about THIS side of the Islamic 'faith').

So we see there is still a good deal of dishonesty in Islam as has always been the case (old Mo' himself said that war is deception and that Islam is war against the 'unbelievers'). Muslims are lying to themselves if they think that non-Muslims can be forced to somehow approve of Islam and the violence contained in its teachings. There is also a good deal of dishonesty in the idea that Islam can somehow be changed to become less violent to non-Muslims. Islamic doctrine can NOT be changed to become less violent as the Kuran's teachings are believed to be the word of Allah and thus are rendered non-negotiable. Muslims can't play it both ways. And that is a tragedy for the entire world which has to live with violence that stems from Islamic teachings.

This OIC meeting is just good old fashioned Islamic brainwashing repackaged in a shiny new bottle. Islam can NOT change or be changed. Non-Muslims must still be encouraged to run for their lives from Islam...

Thus Islamophobia is still a good value for the money--it's free and doesn't cost an arm and a leg (or your head) if you decide to change your mind and get out of it...

Islamophobia is bad for islam because it obstructs da'wa. These asinine "conferences" are for one purpose---to mislead the public about islam. Do muslims "reach out" to non-muslims just to be friendly and neighborly? Never! Muslims won't be your friends unless you convert to islam, but they'll come to your country; send their kids to your schools; go to your hospitals and clinics; accept any help Uncle Sam has to offer; and then complain that they are victims of islamophobia. But you seldom see them returning to their beloved homelands, or trading their oppressed lives in the West for sharia at home.

The word "islamophobia" implies an irrational fear of islam, but anyone smart enough to fear islam is not irrational. I fear islam because it has somehow gained undeserved respect in the West from people who never knew or have forgotten its bloody, tainted history. The only way I will ever respect islam is when it is once again contained in its lands of origin where it cannot harm innocent, ignorant people.

As I've informed countless individuals,a "phobia" is,by defintion, an irrational fear or predjudice. Given the fate of non-muslims throughout the centuries everywhere from India to Spain,amongst other locations,one would be hard pressed not to cringe when this subject is broached. It's the genuine blank expressions one encounters in others, when disseminating historical facts regarding islam,which is of the utmost priority and consequently, of the greatest motivation.

Given all the terrorism and murders that Muslims have committed in the name of Islam recently, as well as not so recently, any fear of Islam is clearly not irrational.

It therefor follows, and clearly so, that the term Islamophobia, as it is currently being used, is essentially a self contained non sequitur.

The only "phobia" with regard to Islam is the fear of Muslims that the truth will be told about it and it's founder, their "Perfect man", AKA the murdering, thieving, torturing, lying pedophile POS.

Some of the posters on this site are very insightful and have excellent minds, either trained or self-trained in the use of logic and critical thinking-analysis. Many Muslims are frightened of that critical analysis of Islam and all they have to counter logic is a bumper-sticker "Four legs good, two legs bad" response. "Islamophobia" is in that vein. It is a fallacy of logic to appeal to emotion but that fallacy is common among people who fear the facts.

The truth is that many Muslims want silence and an end to all such thought. They want no critical thinking, no expression of opinion on Islam other than submission to them. They fear what they know non-Muslims and many Muslims are now thinking about the dictation Muhammad allegedly took from God. They must do something to stop the critical analysis of Islam. They must.

In other words we are not allowed to have a fear about what Mohammad wrote in the Quran about slaughtering all Infidels in all the world, we are to just except it...and if we dont we are "Islamophobia."

I'm so sick of islamists claiming we are islamophobic. It's an excuse for them to make us look weak and frightened of them. In my case that is far from the truth. I'm not afriad of islam, it just disgusts me. It is an inhumane,ignorant, deadly philosophy that controls the masses. It compartmentalizes them into seeing only their belief system abrogating everything else in the world. Like I said before I'm armed and dangerous and I'm a woman. That should send them running for cover.

I'm pretty sure this has nothing to do with Islamophobia but it's more like Muslims are afraid of critical and free thinking. If we all use our heads and THINK then no one is going to accept Islam as a way of life, as a belief system, as a guide to going to the bathroom. We just won't fall for it and that is what is putting their panties into a twist.

I attended a seminar on Pakistan earlier in the year and got into a conversation about women's right in Islam, which this young, good looking, super Americanized Muslim professional guy was trying to sell me on. When I asked him if he was a moderate he gave me a look like he wanted to kill me. It was chilling. But I remember thinking, oh, guess not.
