A jirga (meeting of tribal elders) publicly executed four people, including a woman, on charges of adultery in Khyber Agency, some 25 kilometers west of Peshawar in the North-West Frontier Province (NWFP).The political administration of Khyber Agency confirmed the incident, saying that the woman and one of the men were from Mardan. The other two men, an Afghan and a local tribesman, were still lying in a Tehsil Bara building at Khyber Agency.
The head of the jirga of the Sipah tribe, Haji Khan Gul, said it had unanimously decided on execution. The three men and the woman were accused of committing adultery in the jurisdiction of Sipah village in Tehsil Bara of Khyber Agency.
Gul says the local tribesmen organized a raid Sunday night on a house where a family from Mardan had recently moved to in the tribal area. He said the jirga arrested the three men and the woman having caught them red-handed in an objectionable position.
Gul said the culprits admitted in front of 600 tribesmen, including elders of the jirga of Sipah, that they were committing adultery. He said the jirga handed down the death penalty to the culprits. They were shot dead the next morning in front of the tribal people in the Spera Dam area of Khyber Agency.

This sounds more interesting than it probably was. What is probably meant is that one of the men may have been in an "objectionable position" while the the other two were standing guard, either for pay, or for a chance to take their turn, in turn.
In any case, if this doesn't get the attention of our political class, then nothing will.

....no doubt, the religious police on the prowl, they were looking for anyone for any number of Islamic violations so that they could get brownie points with the local Islamic cleric by turning them in ( I have noticed Muslims can be executed based soley on accusations, no proof necessary).....I can see that being a peeping Tom is one of their tatics....
