Islamabad - A hard-line Pakistani parliamentarian and head of a religious political party on Wednesday demanded a "sir" title for Osama bin Laden, the leader of the al-Qaeda terrorist network, in retaliation for Britain knighting author Salman Rushdie."Muslims should confer the 'sir' title and all other awards on bin Laden and Mullah Omar in reply to Britain's shameful decision to knight Rushdie," Sami ul Haq, leader of the pro-Taliban Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, said in a statement, referring also to the leader of the Taliban....
"Europe and Western nations are intentionally pushing Muslims towards extremism by awarding a nefarious person," Haq said.
Of course, Muslims are just so willing to be pushed -- not that it's ever their responsibility, is it, Haq?

Sir Bin Laden? Why not? Nobody in recent history has taken more people to the bank than Bin Laden. Think of the unaccounted for billions worldwide spent on "security." Think of the trillions spent in the US alone on "Homeland Security" while a known, watch listed TB carrier cannot even be stopped at the border.

When I read your post, my mind turned to Douglas Adams' 'Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy'. In the third book there was a planet called Krikkit , on which resided a race so incredibly genocidal that it decided to annihilate all other lifeforms on discovering that life existed on other planets. They were defeated and sentenced to be frozen in an envelope of 'SloTime' until the end of time itself and all other life in the galaxy had expired, at which point they were to be released into the solitary existance that they craved.
Until such a device exists for real, Mars will have to do the same purpose with Muslims for us.

Pakis make lots of noise, but ain't worth much when it comes to fighting (not counting murder of unarmed civilians).
Even if they went to engage talibans half-heartedly--or no-heartedly--when attacked in Waziristan, they performed abominably--like all the mus in open battle do.
Like all the mus, sneaking about, slitting throats--or at their best of bound prisoners--is their forte.
Lots of sword-rattling there with the Paki military, but the Indians cleaned their clock when it came to battle.
