Bangkok (AsiaNews/Agencies) – Violence in Southern Thailand once again is targeting schools and teachers. Yesterday 13 schools were set on fire in Yala and Pattani provinces in a series of simultaneous attacks and later a bomb exploded in front of another school Narathiwat wounding a security guard.There have been no claims of responsibility but authorities accuse Islamic rebels, who see the schools as representing the state and a way of integrating Muslim and Buddhist children.
In Narathiwat, on June 11 two Buddhist teachers were killed in front of their pupils; one of them had asked to be transferred, in fear of his life. Another teacher was killed during lunch break. Many schools remained closet for a week in protest while teachers appealed for greater protection. Many now carry guns for protection and a State course is teaching them how to shoot.

The educators in America better take a hard look at what is happening. If they continue to allow these islamists groups on campus this is what they can expect in the future. All you professors, administrators, students, do you have islamopologists in your midst? Don’t just stand there get rid of them before they get rid of you. This is no debate, your lives are on the line.
Why isn't the Thai government pleading for American assistance to fight this jihadist invasion and why would we ever NOT want to provide that assistance?
Fox news with Ollie North is reporting from the Phillipines this week showing how U.S. and Philipine forces are successfully stopping the spread, and in some ways eradicating , jihadist in the southern parts of that country.
This illiusrtates the folly of our war in Iraq.
Jihadist in Thailand make inroads on regular basis and we pay no attention to the problem. All of American energies are focused in Iraq with NO success to show for those efforts. I do not suggest we invade, but here is an opportunity to actually do something constructive in the "war on terror" and help stop the violent spread of Islam but working with the Thai military ( should it request our assistance).

It's a shame that resistance of islam cannot be fostered among the women of these peoples. I know that were american women like me faced with the same oppression I would be armed to the teeth in a heartbeat ready to defend at any cost my family, my freedom and my country. I guess the social mores of their culture indoctrinate these women into believing they are forever powerless. At the base of it all... ignorance and fear.
I am sick and tired of hearing the words "Islamic extremists"... They are not extremists it is part of Islam... if it was extremists the good Muslims??? would have put a stop to it years ago.. the Imams would have stopped it.. etc, but they dont they teach one thing in their friday prays and tell us another thing...
