Hamas fighters overran Fatah-allied Preventive Security headquarters in Gaza City on Thursday, a key target in their battle to control the entire Gaza Strip, witnesses and a security agency official said.One witness, Jihad Abu Ayad, said Hamas gunmen were bringing Preventive Security men out of the building and executing them in the street.
Moments after the key security command was taken over, aides said that Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas gave his first order to his elite presidential guard to strike back against Hamas rivals.
However, PA officials told the Jerusalem Post that no decision had yet been made and that a meeting between Abbas and his security officials had not yet reached its conclusion.
Nevertheless, the PA officials said that Abbas was expected to officially pull Fatah out of the PA unity government.
The coup de grace to Fatah sovereignty occurred a day after 35 Palestinians were killed in factional fighting in the Gaza Strip.
Earlier, Fatah operatives called on Abbas to order a move from defense to offense, "even at the price of thousands of dead Palestinians," to avoid losing the Gaza Strip to Hamas.
The call to Abbas Thursday morning came after Fatah officials urged Abbas to resign Wednesday night. Fatah members have grown increasingly angry at what they termed Abbas's failure to order a strong counter-attack to Hamas and a lack of clear-cut orders.
More than 70 people, most of them militants, have been killed in the three days since Gaza slid into civil war. Early Thursday, five more casualties were added to the tally.
"There will be no dialogue with Fatah, only the sword and the rifle," Nezar Rayyan, a top Hamas leader, told Hamas radio on Thursday.
"This is a battle between Muslims and non-believers, and God willing, we will lead the Friday prayer in the president's office, and transform the [Fatah-controlled] security complex into a big mosque."

Ofcourse this is different from existing LAND...which HAS been occupied. Muslims still have keys to non-existant houses, land registry paperwork (which did exist before 1947)...onto which has been built Israeli homes.
So, what's cooking? Well my thinking is that once Hamas will have have got rid of the "brothers" who belong to(pro-Western)Fatah (and this will not be easy)then this paves the way...for support from Syria, Iran whoever ..for Hamas to try and get that land back which their grandfathers used to live on...occupied muslim land.
As to whether they can be successful is anybody's guess....but I don't think it's an Israeli forgone conclusion.
What you can be real about is that this battle will become more intense, waged with ever more potent weapons...with more citizens dying.
If the weapons get more potent and have greater reach into Israel ...it is possible that Israelis start to evacuate/immigrate outta there in some numbers (perhaps even jewdog). This will embolden Hamas even more...and try to get more of the same.
So what is the answer to this? Well I think ..it's total victory for one side or the other....this is unthinkable at the moment...but this will be it's conclusion...
It's possible that perhaps nobody could use this land after all the fighting.....still I guess that would more preferable to muslims rather than the Israelis using it...who can know what future Allah SWT will shape in this most unforgiving region?

Muslims sold it partly because that land was considered worthless, but mostly because they were told that they would be able to immediately retake it after the jews, most of whom had their property stolen by the Muslims and then were expelled from their former homes, moved in to what is now Israel.

What goes around, comes around.
Two of the inherent weaknesses in Islam are a) the lack of a cohesive agreement, centralized organization or a consensual legitmate authority on matters matters of 'heresy' or 'apostacy'. Any Charles Manson can call any other Zombie an infidel (or wife or daughter) and have justification for killing... it should be easy to divide and conquer.
Another weakness to be exploited is b) lack of anything but the appeal to force. Once they have resources and numbers the Islamic jihadis have no alternatives to fighting in the streets, really. But again - they lack the cohesion due to how things are structured around medieval tribal or familial loyalties. Again, if this could be placed squarely into tactics and strategies it would be easy to divide and conquer. Opposing forces need to study tribal/familial dynamics and use them against the jihadis as much as possible
On the one hand, we should rejoice at the infighting. The more they kill each other the fewer there will be for us to deal with later.
On the other hand, if one side prevails will it make the umma stronger in its determination to wipe out the West?
Is it in our interest to maintain a "balance of terror" in order to keep some semblance of order, much as we tried to do with Iran vis a vis Arabs and then Iraq vis a vis Iran? Keep all sides on their toes and worrying about their neighbor, then they can't turn around and attack us?

Israel knew how to govern those areas before it let Arafat back in. There's no going back to a time before the first intifada.
Since then, Israel kept order with a series of checkpoints in the territory to keep terrorists from moving freely. That can't be the permanent state of things. Since Muslims in those territories will never again live peacably under Israeli rule the only options are total separation (no Palestinians can even be allowed to enter Israel) or expelling the entire Muslim population from Gaza and the West Bank, which will never happen.
Jerusalem remains "holy" to Islam and contains their "third holiest site". They will never give it up either barring a Muslim diaspora. Israel doesn't have the might or the international support to ever achieve such an end. That means there's nothing to be gained by retaking either territory.
Interesting that Hamas considers Fatah to be non-believers... non-believers of what?... god help the rest of us... Naseem? so your promoting returning all occupied Muslim lands... get real... they were lost after they were taken and lost a thousand times by a thousand different groups... with that logic the land should belong to the Romans?, Persians?, Chinese?
