Two positive reviews of Islam: What the West Needs to Know

Anyone with only a small bit of intelligence saw in a split second that the last review was politically motivated and biased. Congratulations with the positive reviews!

One thing that I'd like to have seen more attention to is the historical background to Islam. I was familiar with the overall historical context because I'd done some reading up on the origins of Islam, but even so it would have been useful to get a clearer overview before the documentary proceeded with looking at the tenets of the faith. Midway through the program, when the speakers start discussing the territorial expansion of the Islamic empire, past and present, we get useful illustrations with animated maps.

I agree with this observation. While the chapter on the spread of Islam by Yeor & Trifkovic highlighted in green the spread from Arabia into Egypt, Syria, Palestine, North Africa, Spain and Poitiers, as well as the Eastwards conquest of Persia and Turan, it would have been instructive to have touched on the treaty of al Hudaibiyya, and its ramifications. Also, more detail into this section would have been desirable, such as Mohammed's invitation to Heraclius and Khusrao II to embrace Islam, and his reaction when they spurned his invitations. In the History of Jihad, the deceit which the Mohammedans used to capture Damascus and Babylon are recounted, as is their tactics in Sind and Persia. Besides, Trifkovic made only a passing reference to the 'Hindu holocaust': in addition to the two waves of Arab and Turkish conquests in Europe, there was also a Turkish wave of conquests in Asia - starting with Turkestan, and then going on into Afghanistan and then India. The depredations done by the Mohammedans of various tribes over 800 years - Arabs, Afghans, Turks, Timurides, Bahamanis and Moghuls - could have been mentioned, as well as deceptive tactics the Mohammedans in several cases. Also, the way in which Islam surrepticiously became the religion of the Ilkhanate Mongols, as well as the Indonesians and Malays, should have been mentioned as a warning of how Jihad wasn't the sole way of achieving Islamic supremacy, as can be seen today in Indonesia and Malaysia.

The only other thing I would add is that a sprinkle of coverage from Jihad actions around the world - Mindanao, Kashmir, Beslan, Kosovo, Judea/Samaria, Sudan, et al - would have conveyed the seriousness of this threat a lot better than mere pro-Islamic demonstrations in London & New York. It would also have effectively demonstrated the global magnitude of this threat.

I know nothing about licensing, but it would be nice if the producers or publishers could make "What the West Needs to Know", "Obsession" and even this new "Muslims Against Jihad" available on iTunes.

If the arrest warrant angered them the the death sentence is really gonna piss 'em off.

These two reviewers serve their customers very well. They are both accurate. The DVD is simple but enthralling.
