Christian representatives in Pakistan are calling for urgent prayer to prevent a feared backlash against Christians following clashes between security forces and Islamist militants in the capital.At least seven people have died after a tense standoff erupted into violence at the Lal Masjid mosque in the capital Islamabad. The mosque is linked with two Madrassas (Islamic schools).
Militant students have been calling for strict Islamic law and have been accused of carrying out kidnappings in the area. They are armed with assault rifles, sticks and petrol bombs.
Persecution watchdog Release International has been told by its contacts that thousands of extremists have been drawn to the mosque, including women and children who are calling for a jihad. They warn that if the authorities continue shooting they will start suicide bombing across Pakistan.
Partners of Release International, which serves the persecuted church worldwide, fear that the anger of militants will spill over into attacks against the Christian community. They are calling for prayer.
“Whenever there is any incident against Muslims, Christians are always held liable,” says a spokesman for CLAAS, the Centre for Legal Aid Assistance and Settlement. “The Christians of Pakistan are in serious need of prayer.”

Women..... Children...... and Students. That seems to be all that inhabit the world of Islam. With the exception of a Cleric or two.
exsgtbrown, exactly! No wonder they lose! I had to read that sentence about 5 times before I could continue with the article. I thought it was a joke at first. They have lived with these knotheads and they should know by now what it takes to survive - and I am not discounting prayer, but geesh, the muslims know an easy target when they see one.

They are doing in our country, and in Europe, the same things they have done in other countries such as Lebanon - slowly inhabit, numbers start increasing, infiltrate the government, schools, etc and.... boom.
I think that too many peoples have done too much running and giving in to the muslims, and one pet peeve of mine - hoping - for someone else to save them after they let it go too far. Pakistan was once a part of India, India got had waves of muslim hordes attack it, they didn't learn from the first wave or two, and now they gave up by handing over Pakistan, now the muslims are fighting in not only India, but Kashmir will probably be islamicized next. Do you really believe that the muslims will stop there? Especially when their stated goal is world domination?
I just found out that relatives on my Mom's side lived in Pakistan during British reign, and had to flee during Partition. Some of them even lost loved ones who were either killed or left behind. Wouldn't be surprised if those left behind converted from Christianity to Islam by force. I wonder if India would allow them in as refugees if things get nasty in Pakistan. They took in Bengalis from East Pakistan when West Pakistan was trying to put down the resistance movement there.
This reminds me of a dog being teased, turns and bites the nearest person. Just ridiculous.
The Pope has said that we are entering a new period of Christian martyrdom whereby Muslims will kill many of us. This actually is just an extension of what happened in Mohammad's time. Anyone who believes that Mo's theology would not have been recognized as not only contrary but inferior to Christian theology is deluded. There must have been many priests and elders murdered by Muslims and their deaths only known to the Holy Trinity.
It is sad that the Western media does not lift up the issue of persecuted Christians. This hypocrisy is what led me to conclude that the liberal/socialist position was morally bankrupt and from a theological perspective ... not on the side of the angels. Every other minority is lifted up in the Western media, but not Christians. It is so pervasive that I've concluded that there is something deeply toxic within the liberal Western media.

I agree. I believe that the deeply toxic something is called "money." Lots of it. Given the enormous financial resources available to the Saudis, as evidenced by the half-trillion dollars' worth of investments in the US economy alone, I think that the Saudis are quite capable of influencing the editorial boards of the media outlets in which they have interests. Likewise, it may just be possible that they have bought influence on both sides of the aisle in Congress, which may lead to further inroads into the formulation of US policy.
It sometimes happened in the old days of siege warfare that the gatekeepers were bribed to allow the enemy access into the city under siege. The only solution is for citizens to watch the gatekeepers and hold them to account.
One of the doctors arrested in England, a certain Dr. Abdullah from Iraq, apparently cheered whenever he heard on the news about American or British soldiers being killed. He was mad, a friend reported, because a close friend of his "had been killed by Shiites."
And thus it seemed only natural, if his close friend was "killed by Shiites" in Iraq, to want to get revenge by blowiing up civilians in Great Britain. No matter what happens, no matter what the proximate cause, in the end it is the Infidels who will be blamed. For they are to blame: that is what Muslims see when they vdiew the universe through the prism of Islam.

Sadly, Christians doesn't seem to understand the meaning of "turn the other cheek". It's basically a survival technique that Jesus was teaching his people wile under Roman occupation. The Romans would have killed the Jews if they fought back while being slapped. So rather than be killed, just take some beatings and continue to live to fight another day.
Think about it. If you applied "turning the other cheek" to mean no resistance at all, then you are giving anybody free reign to attack your family, you, steal your property, kidnap or kill your wife and children, etc.
When somebody like these Muslims come to kill you, you need to fight back if possible. The US should be arming Pakistani Christians for self defense, not Fatah, Hamas, Iraq, and the Pakistani government.

My suggestion was for the sake of saving the Christians (and other infidels) in Pakistan from sure death: if they could flee to any country, be it India or the West, they should. Granted, they'll run into Muslims wherever they go, but the Muslims in all these countries - pampered as they are - will still not have a life & death grip on them. I follow the argument of some who say that by retreating from Islamic territory, many infidels make it a victory for the local Muslims (and Islam), and worse for any who stay. However, I do not believe that the remnant infidels anywhere - be it Christians in Karachi or Assyrians in Mosul - should lay down their lives at the alter of such theories.
Instead, they should flee to a place where they are (relatively) safe, avoid contacts with Muslims, and build from there. For instance, Assyrians or Maronites who come to US should move to various places and assimilate, not pile up in Dearbornistan right next to the Hizbullah crowds.
"Backlash" is not the proper term. A backlash is when one agent does something against a second agent which causes the 2nd agent to retaliate back against the first agent.
Since the Christians in question have done nothing at all against the Muslims in question, then any violent actions taken by said angry Muslims against innocent Christians in Pakistan is undiluted RELIGIOUS HATRED by those belonging to the so-called "religion of peace." It shows them for what they really are: HATEMONGERS for Allah.
Why the HELL are we allowing Muslims to immigrate to this country from Pakistan when the Pakistani Christians are being persecuted, kidnapped, raped and murdered by the Muslims?
STOP MUSLIM IMMIGRATION TO AMERICA NOW!
Allow the Pakistani Christians to come to the USA.
Pray for Pakistan and all the Muslim countries that Christians are trapped in.
