Fatah's words are cheap; Olmert's are even cheaper

Israel has not yet even released the Palestinian terrorists it promised to release, and already Fatah's promises are ringing false. Why delay the inevitable?

"Palestinian military wings fire projectile and mortar shells at Israeli targets in Gaza," from Ma’an News Agency:

Gaza - Ma'an - Fatah's military wing, the Al-Aqsa Brigades, and Islamic Jihad's Al-Quds Brigades claimed responsibility on Wednesday evening for launching two homemade projectiles at the southern Israeli city of Ashkelon.

In a separate incident, the Al-Aqsa Brigades claimed responsibility for launching two mortar shells at an Israeli military post near Nahal 'Oz, located east of Gaza City.

The brigades said in their statements that their operations came in retaliation for the Israeli "criminal acts" against the Palestinian people in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.

Israel PM Olmert has just offered amnesty to nearly 200 hundred al-Aqsa terrorists. This is their thank you bouquet.

The amnesty was contingent on the terrorists laying down their weapons. That too, is apparently not happening. "Not all gunmen give up weapons in amnesty deal," by Ali Waked for Ynet:

Some members of al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades refuse to disarm, despite PA deal with Israel for Palestinians not in official security forces to hand over weapons in exchange for being taken off IDF wanted list.

Israel has decided to halt negotiations to expand a list of wanted Fatah operatives eligible for amnesty, after number of members from al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades – Fatah's military wing – refused to sign a document renouncing terror activities, Palestinian sources said Thursday.

No disarming and no renunciation of terror are clear violations of the terms of the agreement. The ramifications of this violation are absurd. The prisoners will still be released and amnesty will still be offered to other terrorists.

Which side is Olmert on?

Olmert is the Manchurian Candidate-nothing else can explain his pro-Islamaniac, anti-Israel bent.

Fatahs words are not only cheap, but they are worthless...

No wonder Olmert's approval ratings are so low

Do they have such a thing as impeachment in Israel? If so, why aren't they doing something about him?!

Olmert must be trying to create his place in history-by being the last head of Israel. So far, so good. Only Hitler has done more to contribute to the destruction of Jews, although the Iranian monkey man has yet to be heard from on that score.

Which side is Olmert on?

On the side of cluelessness and abject dhimmitude, of course.

Why don't Israeli authorities just hand the amnestied terrorists Qassam rocket launchers as they exit the prison? It would sure save time.

I guess Fatah doesn't even feel the need to pretend for a week or two anymore.

Bulldozers.

I can't believe this news hasn't triggered a "no confidence vote" and a new parliamentary election. This is suicidal behavior in the face of an immediate threat (unlike the threat the U.S. faces).

I heard they were having them next month. I dont know how much of this is true since I havent read it in any media outlet. I hope its true. Olmert needs to go for Israel's survival.

I had a great idea the other day. How about Olmert trade his life for the Israeli soldier!

Well, you can only keep feeding them in prison for so long while they school each other in tactics. With Amnesty Watch and some of the other bleeding hearts making it impossible to interogate these criminals (you can't shoot em without a conviction), why not just make a bogus trade by releasing them?. At least now they can be a target for a Hellfire missle! Instant paradise.
