Hamas jihadists among the prisoners released by Olmert

Despite promises to the contrary, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has released 30 Hamas terrorists from Israeli prisons. How this "goodwill gesture" will strengthen Fatah Chariman and Hamas rival Abbas is beyond me.

"Prisoners released include members of Hamas, Jihad," by Ali Waked for Ynet:

Ziad Abu Ayn, director of prisoner affairs in the Palestinian Authority said Friday that among the 255 prisoners released are 30 members of Hamas and two members of the Islamic Jihad.

The Palestinian Authority, he told Ynet, does not distinguish between prisoners: "they are all our prisoners, all our sons." The PA, he added, is proud of the fact that prisoners affiliated with Hamas and Jihad are among the released.

Who exactly was supposed to be released from prison?

"Palestinian prisoners transferred to PA," by Raanan Ben Zur, also for Ynet:

Warden Eli Gabizon, commander of the IPS' southern district, said that according to the government decision, all the prisoners slated to be released are prisoners with no blood on their hands, residents of the West Bank, Fatah members, and have served 70 percent of their jail term.

The Israeli government is still intent on keeping us in the dark. Spin and lies are the fuel that drives the Olmert government. A government shill explains: "256 freed security prisoners start arriving at Beitunya," by Rebecca Anna Stoil for the Jerusalem Post:

Foreign Ministry spokesman Mark Regev said the prisoner release was part of a package of goodwill gestures that was to give new momentum to stalled peace efforts.

"We're hopeful that the combined steps by the Israeli government and the Palestinian government can bring about a new period of cooperation and dialogue, that we have turned the corner on the negative dynamic," Regev said.

Under the guise of supporting the terrorist gang known as Fatah, Israel has released terrorists that are hell bent on killing Jews and destroying Israel. Ehud Olmert has become a terrorist enabler.

...HEY Olmert.....What about the captured Israeli soldiers?.....What about the Israeli POWS from past conflicts that were known to be alive and about whom nothing has been heard about for many years....What about the kidnapped Israeli citizens and settlers no one has heard from in recent years?.....

.....HEY Olmert...did your check from Hamas arrive yet?....

This is bad, how is this going down in the Israeli press????

The Israeli press is the Israeli public's sleeping pill. Just swallow and rest easy.

Honestly, what difference is there between Hamas and Fatah terrorists as far as we're concerned.

Olmert has blood on his hands.

If Olmert's irrational behavior is the result of some misguided legacy he's trying to create he needn't worry. Olmert already can go down in history as one of the world's worst traitors. Not even Arafatpig has done more to undermine Israel than this cretin.

Ol Merde.

Its okay. Why feed them?

Make sure the snipers are in place and get the hellfire missiles ready. If they want to be 'martyr's' we should not prevent them from reaching their goal....

Olmert has abused public office to aid enemies of the state of Israel. He should be tried for treason.

"Goodwill gesture"?

This is absurd. Israel does not need to make a "goodwill gesture." Those who make terrorist attacks on Israel, the Slow Jihadists, are the ones who should be asked to make a "goodwill gesture." That "gesture" should include open discussion of Islam, of Jihad, of the Treaty of Al-Hudaibiyya as the basis for Muslim agreements with Infidels, including the State of Israel.

None of this, of course, will ever happen. But at the very least a sensible government in Israel would be drawing public attention to such things, the attention of its own citizens, and the citizens of other countries -- so that they all might bethink themselves: what is going on? And what does it mean to say that "we all want the two-state solution" or, with even greater, and even more hollow, pseudo-assurance, that "everyone knows the two-state solution is the answer." A Q.E.D. that is completely illogical, if the premises used are true.

The only brilliant play Olmert could make after this c**kup is to release them ALL & then bomb Gaza.

Abbas, in his "reciprocal" gesture of goodwill, hailed the assorted would-be murderers, who include Hamas and Islamic Jihad members as well as members of Fatah, as "heroes of freedom" and vowed that he would not rest until every single Arab prisoner, including presumably those who have beaten to death, blown to smithereens, stabbed on the way to work, Israeli men, women, and children, was free.

A "reciprocal" "gesture" of "goodwill."

Olmert is pleased. Well done, he says to himself. Thou good and faithful servant.

Why is he still there? What is it that moves him? Why does he cling to that power? He must know he hasn't any idea what he is doing. Or does he not realize that?

Olmert probably feels great about his generosity and open-mindedness. A similar jerk today on Canadian news said "heroes welcome" in a report about the released "palestinian" terrorists. He would have probably said the same if Nuremberg trial convicts were released in 1945 to the cheers of surviving Nazis. Luckily, Olmert was not in charge then.
A handful of idiots want to feel good and look magnanimous. Their actions will exert a tremendous cost in our blood if we ever try to repair the destruction that PC inflicts on Western civilization. God help us!

.it's o.k...I,m sure Colin Powell has signed off on this..

People of Israel it is time to trade Olmert for the release of the Israeli soldier! He is undoing all that Sharon fought for!
Sharon fought on the battlefields. He was a bad ass! Now Olmert is going to release more! Still No soldier!

I've been a long time reader of JWatch/DWatch.
I can completely understand people's frustration with western dhimmi leaders, Ehud Olmert in this specific case. But, i have to respectfully disagree and say that Olmert's dhimmitude pales in comparison to that of Manmohan Singh, the honourable Prime Minister of India. As a proud Indian (Hindu), i have to submit that this distinction of dhimmi in chief should go to this man, the head of the world's largest dhimmocracy.

Here's some commentaries on his dhimmitude:

The Indian prime minister has been losing sleep over the plight of the Indian (MUSLIM) doctors
involved in terrorism in the U.K. He has been making astounding statements requesting that muslim terrorists not be labeled as "muslims", since we're all Indians.

That is an astounding statement to make for the head of a nation that suffered islamic tyranny for over 1000 years. The Indian people have probably suffered more from Islamic terrorism than all western peoples combined. Yet, we are unfortunate enough to be ruled by the under dhimmi.

Therefore, my dear American, Israeli, British, European friends & brothers in counter-jihad, please allow me to say that you're lucky to have men like George W Bush, who despite all his flaws, can atleast speak audibly and legibly.
The predicament of us Hindus is far worse than yours.

>> Yet, we are unfortunate enough to be ruled by >>the under dhimmi.

Sorry, I meant to say "uber dhimmi"

I am really starting to think Olmert is recieving money from the Saudis. This is a act of utter stupidity. No sane person would do what he has done. He's got to be making money off this somehow.
