Hizballah: We can strike all of Israel

1938 Alert. "Hizbullah: We can strike all of Israel," from the Jerusalem Post (thanks to Rosie):

Hizbullah has the ability to launch rockets against any point in Israel, the organization's leader, Hassan Nasrallah said on Sunday.

He told Al Jazeera that Hizbullah had the capability to strike every part of Israel during last summer's war, and retains that capability.

If they had it then, why didn't they use it then?

"Even in the months of July and August 2006 there was not one place in occupied Palestine that we could not reach, every point and every corner," Nasrallah was quoted as saying. "I stress that we can do this today as well."

Well, pardon me if I'm skeptical. Not about the imminence of another war, but about their ability to strike all of Israel -- what makes it ring hollow is his claim about last year.

What they managed to fire reached Haifa. One or 2 hit as far south as near Afula.

I wouldn't be surprised if they had a few longer range. Even if they don't, those were more than far enough, thank you.

Muslims are quite good at making hollow threats, but they seldom back it up. I wouldn't take Nasrallah too seriously.

Find Nasrallah and put a rocket in his pocket.

Why to sweat for the creature, in the first place?
Just give the individual a proposition he can't refuse to accept, and move on...

Someone needs to remind the good Mr. Nasrallah that Israel can strike anywhere HE is.

If they had it then, why didn't they use it then?

"Even in the months of July and August 2006 there was not one place in occupied Palestine that we could not reach, every point and every corner," Nasrallah was quoted as saying. "I stress that we can do this today as well."

We'll never know the truth, and this point is well taken. It could be however, that last year was a "test" of some sort to assess many different factors; one of them being the ability to "overwhelm" the missile defenses.

If that was one of the assessments, it could be the reason why Assad now believes that he can defeat Israel militarily by implementing the same tactic; at least that is what reports from Syria are suggesting.

It could be that Hal Lindsey has this one right. He says in his video, ( http://hallindsey.org/ )that Syria will attack Isreal with missles with VX nerve gas and destroy a large part of the population.

Israel, he believes, will subsequently respond with a nuclear counter-strike against Damascus destroying the entire city, which Lindsey says fulfills one of the prophecies in Isaiah (sp?).

In fact, it could be a disasterous miscalculation as a result of this assessment from Hizballa, and the current preparations for war over the Golan that actually nudge things in this very direction.

If it happens, it will be easy to see how the whole mess disintegrates and plunges the whole world into war; terror attacks going on at the same time that Iranian nukes are being destroyed, etc., etc.

Just remember what the root of all of these calamities is before it happens, if it happens -- i s l a m !!

Destroy islam, and you end the impetus for war.

Coddle, encourage, nurture islam -- and you have empowered a monster that will never have its fill of your blood, nor the blood of your children.

Too strong? Over the top?

Then, I refer you to sura 9 and mohammad's own teaching on the subject of islamic supremacy, the Jews, and the issue of war against non-islamics -- your disagreement is with him, not me.

Hebozlah forgets that if they try to corner Isreal like a cat that is cornered, they will get scratched.

Why isn't Nasrallah at room temperature ? Is it because he is not within striking distance of the Israelis ?

Another brave jihadi leader.

There is theoretical possibility that the Iranian made Zelzal-2 missile, fielded by Hizbullah could reach most parts of Israel.

http://www.globalsecurity.org/wmd/world/iran/zelzal-2.htm

This could be serious with Syria hyped up about Golan, and Hezbollah and Hamas, hyped up about Israel, And Iran hyped up about most everything.
Israel will be fighting a war on at least two fronts. The Germans tried the blitz method of bombing Britain daily during WW2. Syria probably did not notice that the Nazi's are gone (or mostly), Hitler is dead, and Britain, with a little help from its friends, still exists. History may repeat itself. Damage to Israel can happen, but with a little help from its friends, or without it, it will prevail...

Israel is not an empty-threat maker. I hope they tread quietly and carry a large nuke.

We all know this is where it's headed. Just look at how differently Pakistan must be treated now that they have a nuclear capability.

Nasrallah is ready. He went to a war conference with IAmANut in Iran and got fitted for his summer burka.

Let the hiding begin.

I saw readings of all the war chants coming from the war councils of this asshat, his masters in iran, through their bobetween ass-ad, especially by debka.com.
Obviously, despite his ominous rhetoric, he forgets one of the most critical rules of war known since time immemorial:
"if the enemy is within range, so are you."

Hezbollah and Hamas LEARN from wars - and even if clobbered they make it a propaganda victory.

For starters, they've moved their rocket launchers into the middle of populous Lebanese villages. Israel gets more flack for killed civilians than Hez ever will for using human shields (thanks to BBC, et al)

Israel seems to have learned NOTHING since Oslo except a variety of fawning and humiliating postures before the so-called 'Palestinians' and the Left.

There are six million Israeli Jews. THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF MUSLIMS SCREAMING FOR THEIR BLOOD. These Jews are on a piece of land the size of Orange County California. Their enemies cover a good portion of the earth's surface.

The paralysis of Sderot with a few crude inaccurate rockets, the terrorizing of the North of Israel by other crude rockets shows the future 'war of attrition' which will start and stop and start again for yet another round till Israel's 'best and brightest' begin leaving and the state unravels to a 'hardcore fighting for their lives' probably a million or two TRUE Israelis and real Jews and even (gasp!) 'settlers'.

It could be that Hal Lindsey has this one right. He says in his video, ( http://hallindsey.org/ )that Syria will attack Isreal with missles with VX nerve gas and destroy a large part of the population.

I love Hal Lindsey. I read his book The Final Battle 3 times and it's my favorite book of all time. He does a yearly group trip to Israel and I plan to take that trip within the next several years.

I do think a war with Israel is being planned from all signs coming out of Damascus, Tehran and Lebanon, but I'm not so sure Damascus will use the nerve gas just yet because Israel has nukes and none of the others have that capability. Although in the last days, Damascus does get hit with a nuke and rendered uninhabitable. I hope Israel is ready and prepared, because this regional war could begin as early as August. I am extremely worried right now because it could spread into the surrounding countries and also pull us into it, as if we haven't got enough problems dealing with Iraq.

Bonniea --

Do you watch Hal's TV show each week? I do. It's always a chilling reminder of where we are on God's prophetic time clock. I met Hal, because my husband and I used to go to his church when it was located in Torrance, but then he resigned in '96 and moved to Palm Desert. Hey, I may see you in Israel some time because we've talked about joining Hal's tour too!

"Hizballah: We can strike all of Israel"....yeah, and little green men live on the moon too.

Yes Champ, I try to watch his show every Friday. You are so lucky to have met him. I would be thrilled just to shake his hand. My mother and I have talked about going to Israel and the only way I want to go is on Hal's yearly tour. I think it's sometime every September. Please keep me posted when you decide to go and maybe I can arrange to go then too. It would be cool to meet someone from Jihad Watch on a trip to our Holy Land, as we are all in this fight together. I also have Israeli friends there I would like to meet.

I do think Hal might be wrong about the anti-Christ though because he thinks it's someone from Europe and I am tending to believe it will be someone from the Middle East as events have begun to unfold lately.

Hey Bonniea! I know what you mean about Hal and the anti-christ. Doesn't scripture indicate that he will come out of the revived Roman Empire, so I believe Hal is right about that; but whoever the anti-christ is, I think he will be a big surprise to all of us, so it's kinda pointless to venture a guess. God knows who he is though, and in due time, Mr. 666 will be revealed.

Love to go to Israel!! My husband and I have never been there, and it's hard to say just when we will actually be able to go, but I'll keep you posted and please do the same!

Take care!

It's very possible that Hezbullah was reluctant or directed not to use their long range goodies last year because their masters said not yet to hit Tel Aviv.

Either way, I would take him for his word now, plan for the worst (long range missles that can cover all of Israel) and hope for the best (that Nasrallah is lying).

Now definately is the time to hit Israel, they have never been weaker, and have never had such incompetent weaklings in power (Olmert, Peres, Livni, Peretz etc). Islamists know this, and smell blood.

What I find remarkable was that after the war the Israelis came to the conclusion that the problem was allowing Hezbullah to arm for 5 years on Israels northern front that created the threat. Olmert ommitted himself from blame since he wasn't responsible for Hezbullah arming for half dozen years. The remarkable part is that Hezbullah has been arming again for now over a year, and Israel (Olmert) has again neglected it's duty and stopped the threat of missles on their northern border that will cause chaos, death and economic shutdowns as soon as Iran says so.

Should be an interesting couple months ahead.

I love history and I am not big into the Bible, but as events happen in the Middle East there are many things that are happening that cause me to remember Bible stories from when I was a kid.

As more stories like this come out I go back and read some of these Bible stories and it is amazing of the acuracy of prediction from a book that is over 2,000 years old.

It is also amazing that everyone wants to know what to do, and how to fix the problem, and that there is a book that everyone is ignoring that explains the Middle East. Read it for the history and prediction and it is amazing.

Champ,

Yes, the anti-Christ is supposed to come from the revived Roman Empire, but the Middle East was ruled by the Romans at that time period, which could make this theory probable. I have been fascinated and have studied Bible prophecy since I was a teenager and always believed he would come out of Rome, but now I think he will come out of the Middle East and I think he will be a Muslim. The Muslims are taking over more and more and they are the only ones who would put a stipulation that you must worship their religion or die, similar to the Anti-Christ and 666. He also coincides with the Muslim Mahdi description. I believe we will see this in our lifetime, but none of us will know for certain until he appears. Nostradamus said he will be a man in a black turban. Shiite men wear black turbans.

And yes, I will keep you posted when I book a trip there with Hal Lindsay's group. I believe he has a great gift for prophecy.

Warm regards,
Bonnie

I wish you'd all save your Pop CHain-Link Bible Hal Lindsey (of the Sleazy Paperback covers) Prophecy chatter for some other site. "No man knoweth when it comes" (remembering verbatim the end of Revelations) and are you like duh, an exception? YOU breed the same inshallah fatalism as Islam.

poetcomic1.....

What is happening is prophecy.

If you don't want us to talk about it, then I won't. I was only discussing the history and accuracy of it.

It is kind of like someone 2,000 years ago writing the directions on how to assemble a vehicle. And instead of reading directions most people would rather discuss the parts individually instead of referring to the directions.

As more events happen and we don't see the accuracy, I can see why us as humans are referred to as 'dumb sheep'.

The earth is not flat, and many would have known that too had focused on what they were reading 'He holds the ball of the earth in his hands'.

But, hey, I can ignore the obvious here if it is not politically correct.

Please talk about Chrisprophecy elsewhere. This is certainly not the place and a real turn off to most of us, ESPECIALLY casual visitors. By the way if you research it you'll find that Hal Lindsey has changed his prophecies over the years like fashion designers change styles and hemlines.

Warning: what I say next is only for posters who are fellow Christians, and will be irrelevant or annoying for people who are not. (Jews are welcome to 'eavesdrop').

I think poetcomic1 does have a point. Because YHWH is not Allah - not an immutable, cold-hearted tyrant. He is not like the pagan Fates, either.

My friends: instead of salivating ecstatically at the prospect of hundreds of millions of people - not only in the Middle East, but in the Russian Federation, in China, in India, across parts of Africa, in the jungles of the Americas - all dying ghastly deaths in world nuclear warfare before they have ever had the smallest chance to hear the gospel properly explained in their mother tongues...let those of us who are believers, pray. Pray for life, not death.

My fellow Christians, please feel free to join Isabellathecrusader and myself, each Friday henceforward, to pray for the defeat of the jihad and for the conversion of Muslims.

The phrase 'defeat of the jihad' includes, for me, not only victory in the military sense, the exposure or failure of terror plots, the awakening of our political and spiritual leaders to an awareness of our danger, but also God's grace to enable persecuted Christians - especially Muslim-background-believers - in the Muslim world to stand, to persevere, and to prevail. It includes the preservation and deliverance of the Jews, and of Israel. You may choose to fast as well as praying. List the synagogues in your city: pray for God's protection over them. List the mosques in your city - pray that those who worship there will be freed from the deadly delusions of Islam.

Furthermore: yesterday evening, Tuesday 24 July, Tisha Be'Av began - the Fast of the Ninth of Av. Look it up. All devout Jews will be fasting, mourning the destruction of the Temple and various other terrible things that have happened to the Jews on this day. A good time for us Christians to pray with, and for, the Jews of the diaspora and the Jews of Israel. I will be missing lunch and, instead, reading the Book of Lamentations.

I give you the words of Jacques Ellul, at the very end of his book 'Un Chretien Pour Israel', 'One Christian For Israel':

"One Christian supporting Israel? Yes: which above all means one Christian who trembles because he is engaged in a military and spiritual struggle that is infinitely beyond his strength...

- One Christian for Israel, what is he? Nothing: a reed that quivers in the wind, a murmuring of [a] leaf, of a page, one book among a hundred thousand books; and who knows with bitterness that his book will be used for every propaganda, or not understood by all the other partisans. An attempt which cannot shift by one line the march of political time. And nevertheless he had to do it because a Christian who stands for Israel, HE IS, FIRST OF ALL, A MAN WHO LIVES IN THE HOPE OF THE LORD, AND WHO PRAYS".

I have totally lost all confidence in the Israeli leadership.

Olmert may as well give up officially because he gave up unofficially during the last war.

It would be great to be able to believe Bible prophecies, but I am a very secular person who is unlikely to ever change.

No offence intended to anyone. To each his own.
Secretly I hope you guys are right.

dumbledoresarmy-
Glad to get back some positive feedback to my gripes. By the way I love Ellul myself.

I was rather enjoying the Hal Lyndsey talk above, Poetcomic1. I have listened to him for about a year or so and find it refreshing that so many Jihad Watchers tune him in also. And I bet you'de be surprised how many Christians attend this sight, and are not turned off by such comments, but are reassured. And boy, do you have Hal Lyndsey wrong. They're not "his" prophecies, but His prophecies. Another very informative read right now is "Armageddon, Oil and Terror, by John F. Walvoord, available at Barnes and Nobles. Poetcomic1, it's not to become fatalistic, but PREPAIRED!

"No man knoweth when it comes" (remembering verbatim the end of Revelations) and are you like duh, an exception? YOU breed the same inshallah fatalism as Islam.

Now learn a lesson from the fig tree. When its branches bud and its leaves begin to sprout, you know that summer is near. In the same way, when you see all these things, you can know his return is very near, right at the door.--
Jesus Christ, Matthew 24:32-33

A quick reminder: Jihad Watch is a non-sectarian site.

That, and, how and when the world will end is beyond human control (and subject to much debate depending on one's religion and denomination). So, biblical prophecy is outside the scope of what we're concerned with here, which is what can and ought to be done to respond to and defeat the jihadist threat.

As a secularist with a strong atheistic tendency myself, you sound as goofy and irrational to me as the islamists.

The whole middle east conflict is about religon and specificially about how people interpret their respective prophecies.

To say it isn't, is just as daffy as the liberals who try to disassociate islam with jihad motivated murders and terrorism.

The whole conflict IS about a prophetic view of one sort or another and how it will play out.

Lindsey portrays a scenario about the current situation that makes sense even from a secular point of view. He wants to say that he basis his scenario on his interpretation of Biblical prophecies.

So, who cares what he bases his scenario on if it makes sense? I don't. The fact that it seems to corrolate with judeo-christian scriptural prophecy is interesting, but that should not be a basis for dismissing automatically the assertion that Damascus could be distroyed as a a result of a fatal miscaluclation.

As far as I am concerned, all the entire middle eastern culturals are nut-balls that will drag the rest of us into a nuclear war sooner or later.

So, biblical prophecy is outside the scope of what we're concerned with here, which is what can and ought to be done to respond to and defeat the jihadist threat.

In that case, you have a self-contradiction because mystic prophecies of all sorts are exactly what is behind islam and the jihadist threat; understanding these realities is the only way that you will know how to respond and defeat the jihadist threat.

Reality sucks -- but hey, that's what we are stuck dealing with whether we like it or not; so all aspects need to be discussed and understood as well as the ramifications.

Denial gets you nowhere fast.

Marisol is right. The fevered rantings of the book of revelations means nothing here. It's means nothing. Like the rantings of Nostradamus, it's just meaningless drivel. How one can extract meaning from such "dreck" is beyond me. I don't mean to offend, but this if how I believe. Fighting jihad is an effort that requires concrete actions and logical solutions, not faith-based suppositions. I despise the word prophecy. It implies a weak-willed inability to confront the reality of jihad. Dependency on a god-like figure to solve your problems is short-sighted at best and will not bring you the results that you seek. You must grab the horn by your own hand.

One more point. Why do you desire the apocalypse? It can't come soon enough for you. Some on this site are right: you're not much different from them.

"It implies a weak-willed inability to confront the reality of jihad."

Let me change that to...It implies a weak-willed inability to confront the reality of an ever changing
random set of events. Permutations that we can not predict or hope to influence, but hopefully, we can counter attack.

And that too.

Perhaps...but as our guys in country execute their secular practicalities, like killing the enemy and destroying their stuff, tend to invoke what I have for decades when doing the same:

"The path of the rightous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who in the name of charity and justice shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness for he is truely his brothers keeper and the finder of lost children and I will strike down upon thee with great vengence and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brother and you will now my name is the Lord when I lay my vengence upon thee."
Ezechiel 25:17

It's a tradition...
After all, "there are no atheists in foxholes."
;-)

"Why do you desire the apocalypse? It can't come soon enough for you. Some on this site are right: you're not much different from them"

If this comment is going to remain posted, then it's now become fair game to respond to:

The above commenter has made some of the most misinformed statements about Christians that I have ever read.

There is not a single true Christian alive that "desires the apocalypse"; and secondly, no Christian wants it to "come soon enough", quite the contrary. Who said they desire the apocalypse? And which poster indicated that it can't come soon enough? These are lies.

And your last comment is truly ignorant, because Christians are nothing like Muslims.

Stick to the Truth, because there are enough lies floating around this website. Please don't start new ones.

rosie o'commie tried comparing the two...and how'd she make out?

Actually.. they Do.. see 1993 and 9.11.2001.

As long as you don't oppose their ambitions they will ONE DAY do what they say they will do..

Very much like Adolf Hitler.. at first he seemed like a joke.. and a few years later it was almost too late..

The ***ONE*** good thing about islamist triumphalism is that they do **TELEGRAPH** their intentions.

We are foolish to underestimate their iron will and determination..

This is NO JOKE!

Arrogance comes before the fall..

The IDF can reach FAR beyond that... problem is they WON'T.. and WE Western Countries are instrumental in holding them back..

They WILL carry out what they aspire to.. be warned..

Remember the Nazis for recent illustration of this fact..

We didn't take nasrallah very seriously last YEAR either...so much for "empty threat"s.
Someone needs a remedial in history...

As Benjamin Netanyahu so accurately said:
"When someone says they're going to exterminate you, believe it."
Voice of experience.

Impressive words. The question is, how long could they do it for befor Isreal creates open space in what was once Gaza?

Fighting jihad is an effort that requires concrete actions and logical solutions, not faith-based suppositions.

Jihad is part of what you call "faith-based suppositions" and that is as concrete as bullet through one's skull.

I despise the word prophecy. It implies a weak-willed inability to confront the reality of jihad.

You are entitled to your opinion, but your opinion is worth no more than anyone elses.

Dependency on a god-like figure to solve your problems is short-sighted at best and will not bring you the results that you seek.

You should preach this sermon in a mosque.

You must grab the horn by your own hand.

Even if it is made of staw I suppose.

One more point. Why do you desire the apocalypse? It can't come soon enough for you.

Wait just a minute, if I recollect things correctly, it is the ape in Iran and the screaming hoards of burka clad muslims that are screaming for the apocalypse.

Some on this site are right: you're not much different from them

As you say.

Let me change that to...It implies a weak-willed inability to confront the reality of an ever changing random set of events. Permutations that we can not predict or hope to influence, but hopefully, we can counter attack.

So then if you take all the random samples that are possible which are combinations really you get a normal distribution of samples which you can accurately predict using the empirical rule!

Even if your population values are not a normal distribution you get the same result. You can even use Chebyshev's Rule to accurately make statistical inferences.

Look, you obviously are VERY WEAK when it comes to doing statics so I suggest that you take a refresher course on the subject.

In any case, I would not credit a suicide-belt murderer as "weak willed"; nor would I credit anyone trying to understand these conflicts in the context of prophecy of one kind or another as a fool.

To the contrary, they may be on to something regardless of your opinion, which under close examination, doesn't have very much weight or credibility.

My, such a sensitive lot.

...Syria does have vx gas rockets....they got them from Sadaam Hussein in 2003.....they also received sarin and mustard gas artillery shells from Sadaam Hussein.....we have satellite photos showing long truck convoys delivering these rockets as they crossed over to Syria from Iraq just prior to the US beginning the "shock and awe" campaign....

to this day, I am shocked and awed by the fact that this transfer of the fabled WMDs was allowed to occur with little or no fanfare.....

to date the US forces in Iraq have recovered about 1000 artillery shells containing mustard gas and sarin gas, we have also recovers hundreds of rockets that were ready to install the nerve gas elements....of course the dhimmicrats do not classify these as WMDs because they were of "old manufacture"....I suspect none of these dhimmicrats who made such a decision would be willing to take a whiff of this "old manufacture" sarin or mustard gas to prove their point....

....i suspect that Syria along with Iran, Egypt, and Jordan will attack Israel using non conventional weapons in an all out blitz to finally destroy Israel....and I expect it to happen soon...
