KUALA LUMPUR, July 18 (Bernama) -- Muslim states should create an Islamic Peace Organisation (IPO) to end the violence that plagues too much of the Muslim world, an Iranian academician said Wednesday.Dr Muhammad Legenhausen, a lecturer of the Imam Khomeini Education and Research Institute, said the IPO could be coordinated through the Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC).
"The programmes undertaken by the IPO should include conflict transformation and resolution efforts, conciliation and arbitration, recovery and post-traumatic aid and long-term peace building," he said.
Dr Muhammad made the suggestion in his paper on "Mechanism and Initiatives to Eliminate Extremism, Terrorism, Criminal Violence and War" in the two-day international conference on "The Role of Islamic States in a Globalised World" which ended here Wednesday.
He said Islamic states in this globalised world needed to cooperate to form a civilian peace service comprising Muslim clerics, diplomats and other Muslim men and women trained in conflict transformation.
"The tasks of IPO will involve cooperation with governmental agencies, national and international non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and local groups focusing on the role that religious leadership, instruction and faith can play to promote Islamic peace development," he said....
"I do not mean to suggest that the IPO should approach peace development solely through an intellectual appeal, which would be unrealistic.
"However, if practical means are integrated with approaches toward peace and ideals, understanding may prove to be a key to the achievement of lasting peace," he said....

The sneering sense of supremacism, the perceptions created by the belief-system, warp any sense of logic, and make critical analysis of Islam a crime. If Freud was right that pleasure stamps in, and pain stamps out (even if a given behavior results in self-destruction) what is the payoff here? It is the feeling of supremacism and the many permissions to oppression and exploitation (and violence) that result from belief that one has totally submitted to the will of "god". Such "true believers" are delusional (Jim Jones style).
For these reasons, it is very unlikely that logic and critical analysis will work with such minds. What is more likely is that it will be necessary to use severe and ruthless force to bring them to reality. My hunch is that The Psychotic in Iran and people such as this "teacher" are on verge of facing reality. It is the only answer with them, as it was with the Nazis. They must be destroyed.

The first time I really comprehended this was when watching a "debate" between Michelle Malkin and some guy named Ibn Something (the guy was a big, fat, ugly slob, that looked like the Ed-209 in the movie Robocop). He was so offensive (and I rarely use that term) in his efforts to bully, his arrogance (who would not be arrogant and need a supremacist state of mind if they looked like that hog?), so immune to reason, that it convinced me that he was "middle of the road kill" Islam. His soul is violent. Michelle Malkin did everything to reason with him, was patient with his bullying, but he sneered at her.
This kind of mind cannot be reasoned with. I'm afraid its more prevalent than I thought(though not the majority state of mind among ordinary Muslims). Such people only understand ruthless force as a response to Jihad. The runt in Iran is cut from similar cloth as the hog that "debated" Michelle Malkin.

Well: that dictum was not 100% true of Rome; but it looks to me like a perfect description of the Empire of Islam.

Can't they see how laughable this is, in the sight of any person who knows anything at all about the political and social history of ANY of the Islamised regions of the world, over, oh, the past thousand years or so? About the assassinations, the poisonings, the harem intrigues, the mass murders, the all-pervasive corruption, the non-stop sectarian and interdynastic wars? The demonic will-to-kill clearly expressed by Muslims against Muslims in so many places, and so many times? Most notably the war between Muslim Pakistan and Muslim Bangladesh (mass killings and mass rapes), the all-out war between Muslim Iran and Muslim Iraq, and the murderous insurgency in Algeria, and the suicidal Pol Pot-style viciousness of the Taliban. Jacques Ellul commented that "since the jihad is not solely an external war, it can break out within the Muslim world itself - AND WARS BETWEEN MUSLIMS HAVE BEEN VERY NUMEROUS, BUT ALWAYS WITH THE SAME FEATURES" (foreword to Bat Ye'or's "The Decline of Eastern Christianity Under Islam").
Islam has never been able to make, or keep, within its own boundaries, a peace that would be recognised as 'peace' by intelligent humans from almost any other high human civilisation (Buddhist, Christian, Jewish, Chinese, Hindu) and even many tribal systems (e.g. Native Australian culture, which in its traditional form was incredibly focused on balance, reciprocity and relationships ).
