Bad dhimmis! Don't you know by now that criticism is a one-way street? "US may alienate Muslims on human trade: Malaysia," from Reuters:
KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia dismissed yesterday possible US sanctions over human trafficking and warned Washington of alienating Muslims after it blacklisted mostly Islamic countries.
The US last month ranked Muslim states — Bahrain, Kuwait, Iran, Malaysia, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syria and Qatar — as among the worst human trade offenders, and said they may face sanctions.
“We are not bothered about...the sanctions,” Foreign Minister Syed Hamid Albar said. “I don’t think we need to respond to that sort of pressure.”
“The US really needs to be friendly to Muslim countries,” he told retired Malaysian diplomats. “This is not a good development as they have just appointed a special envoy to OIC.” Malaysia heads the 57-nation Organisation of Islamic Conference.
US President George W Bush said last week in a speech to mark the 50th anniversary of the Islamic Centre in Washington that the appointment would demonstrate to Muslim communities “our interest in respectful dialogue and continued friendship”.
In its annual report on human trafficking published last month, the US State Department named 16 countries subjected to possible sanctions, including the loss of US aid and US support for World Bank and International Monetary Fund loans. Syed Hamid said Malaysia would introduce a new law soon to prevent human trafficking.
“In Malaysia’s case, we do not need to be apologetic,” he said. “We have moved to the right direction. The law against human trafficking is going to be passed by parliament in this current session.”
Still, Indonesia and other countries that supply most of the workers say Malaysia has not done enough. In May, Kuala Lumpur ruled out laws to enforce better working conditions for foreign maids.
Asked if laws were needed to specify working conditions for the maids, Home Minister Radzi Sheikh Ahmad said: “We cannot have maids having a holiday, weekends off. It’s up to the employers to give time to the maids to rest.”
With Malaysians reluctant to take up menial jobs, the country is one of Asia’s largest importers of foreign labour, which makes up a quarter of a workforce of about 10.5 mn, particularly on plantations, in construction and as maids.
Malaysians got a harrowing glimpse into the treatment of some domestic workers when newspapers reported the death in April of an Indian migrant worker after eight months of being beaten, chained up and starved by his employers in a sauce business. India and Malaysia are hammering out a draft agreement to ensure better protection for Indian workers in Malaysia.
Although the southeast Asian nation does not employ maids from India, many Indian workers who take up jobs in construction and manufacturing in Malaysia say employers change their contract terms after they have begun their jobs.
Human rights group have long urged Malaysia to plug loopholes in labour and immigration laws that expose migrant workers to the risk of abuse and exploitation by employers and recruiters.
Islamophobes!
Indonesian maids in Malaysia often work a gruelling 16 to 18 hours a day, seven days a week, and earn less than 25 U.S. cents an hour, U.S. group Human Rights Watch has said.

Why do we "need to be friendly to Muslim countries"? Muslim countries need to explain themselves, and the contents of Qur'an, Hadith, and Sira, which are now widely available to Infidels for intelligent inspection and study without the apologists -- whether Muslim (those safis, those nasrs, those khalidis) or non-Mulsim (those armstrongs, those espositos, those ernsts). We have available the writings of the great Western authorities on Islam, who studied and wrote in the period 1870-1970, before the Arab money came on the scene to buy up pre-existing, or to even start up, academic "Centers" for the study of Islam or matters related to Islam, before Muslims and non-Muslim apologists for Islam began their steady creep into, and rise within, the academic ranks, until now they hold all but a few places firmly in their grasp, long before the publishers got scared, long before academic standards collapsed, long before all kinds of things. We can read Schacht and Snouck Hurgronje and Jeffery and Lammens and Zwemer -- there is no preventing it. And since what they write makes so much sense, since it has such obvious explanatory value, as compared to the vaporings of John Esposito, or Gilles Kepel, or Noah ("After Jihad") Feldman, or any other entrepreneurs who have made their fortune (Esposito) directly or indirectly through Arab suport, or thrusting young academics (Noah Feldman), having presented themselves as Constitution-writing "experts" and given jobs and even tenure by others who haven't looked into Islam themselves and may be mightily impressed by letters of reference from Roy Mottahedeh and John Esposito and, of course, someone in the American government thanking someone for his "important work in drafting the Iraqi constitution" -- no, we don't have to go for them for our information or understanding.
And that is why we owe the Muslim countries nothing: we understand, now, what explains in a place like Malaysia, for example, the disguised JIzyah of the Bumiputra system, or the malevolence of the O.I.C. speech which Mahathir Mohamad delivered, to great applause, a few years ago. We know now more about Malaysia, and other Muslim countries ("but they're not monolithic" -- no, they're not, in dress and food and a few things like that, but the ideology makes them all into Arab wannabes, and the ideology stamps out, and would stamp out everywhere if it could, anything but Islam).
Neither the U.S. nor any other Infidel country "needs to be friendly" to Muslim countries. Quite the reverse. They had better start understanding that in our understanding, there is no going back, and it is they who have a great deal of explaining to do -- if they can do it.
The best way to show total nonchalance about constant Muslim bleating would be to stop all aid to Muslim countries and to invest it ina 21st century "Manhattan" style project to both find and make practical a cold fusion device. I know that this is not an easy possibility but neither was a nuclear weapon in 1938.
Besides making the west the source of (theoretically) unlimited cheap power it would mean that the oil weapon plus the financial blackmail employed by arab states would become less useful. Oil would still be useful for lubricants and plastics etc but coal is an alternative here especially if we are no longer just burning it.
Is this possible? It is certainly more difficult than even the Manhattan project but it is not impossible and if we wait too long it may become necessary very quickly. Unfortunately this would require political will and some degree of enlightened original thought in the white house. So do not hold your breath.
Maids working 16-18 hours a day, seven days a week with $.25 hourly wages... That sounds like the working conditions for maids brought in by Arab diplomats, businessmen, and students to the USA. If any JW reader notices an young Asian women in the home or outside of a home owned by Arab nationals, please do your own investigations. These women are told that American police will arrest them and beat them if they leave their abusive employers. If you can help with an escape, please do it. We still live in the land of the free, even if wealthy Gulf Arabs who hold slaves in the US don't think so!! Happy Independence Day!

...Paging Mr. Derbyshire, paging Mr. Derbyshire...
there is a message for you in the lobby."
Slavery is alive and well in Malaysia, Indonesia , and the wonderful kingdom of Sowdi Arabia. big suprise! Muslims finding nothing wrong with enslaving others.
If Mohammad could have slaves, then every Muslim can have slaves.
Case closed.
(At least in the Sharia Court.)
This is the Achilles Heel of the Islamic world. I've tended to have success with letters to the editors when exposing Muslim human rights abuses and lack of respect for the rights of women. Abuses against Christians or other religious minorities will fall on deaf ears when it comes to liberal newspaper editors (most of them are liberals), however they will lift up the rights of women and foreign workers. This is what people need to write about for two reasons.
1. Women and foreign workers must not be exploited since this is evil. One can only imagine how many maids (female and male) are exploited/raped in Muslim countries!
2. Shariah supporting Muslims will use the support that the liberal media give them unless they must choose between sexist Koranic ways VS the liberal media. They will of course choose the Koranic ways. This is the political wedge which that can be quite successful to alienate the relationship between Shariah supporting Muslims and the liberal media. Often Muslim apologists will talk in the abstract about Mohammad (fleas be upon him) or the Koran supporting women's rights, however one easily responds "Show me the equality now ... it doesn't exist. Islam is as Islam does ... it subjugates and oppresses women."
One only needs to expose the truth about how most Muslims (not all) treat women and foreign workers. This is what we must focus on in order for liberals to understand all the other oppression that comes from the Islamic narrative. Once liberals and even socialists understand what is happening to women and workers, they often begin to hear what is happening to religious minorities.
Excuse me, human trafficking? saudi arabia did'nt make the list? They are some of the most wealthy people in the world who seem to think it's their right to exploit others, then rape them for their own personal satisfaction. We've had cases recently of polio and tb (which the U.S erradicated) and I've read more and more stories of slave labor coming into this country, masters 9/10 being saudies. (Thank-you chucles G.W. the bush) jeb bush will not have a prayer from heaven to be president of the U.S.A.

From Mark Durie's essay, "The Dhimmitude of the West", in Spencer's "The Myth of Islamic Tolerance", the following paragraphs are relevant to this story about Malaysia's outraged response to some well-deserved and accurate criticism of its toleration of human rights abuses.
"Within the Islamic self-consciousness", writes Durie, " there are limited options for the roles that non-Muslim communities can play. The only real alternative to 'enemies of Allah' for such communities is dhimmitude.
"The requirement that dhimmis affirm and serve Islam greatly limits the repertoire of responses that dhimmified Christians [or, for that matter, dhimmified Jews, Hindus, whatever] can have toward it. WHERE THERE ARE GROUNDS FOR CONFRONTATION, THE ONLY WAY OF STRUGGLING PERMITTED TO THE DHIMMI IS BY SAYING SOFT THINGS. Such political correctness is itself an injustice that needs to be exposed and challenged. This dynamic, when combined with the meaning of 'struggle' (jihad) that Islam claims as its divine right without apology of any kind, can intimidate and debilitate Christians [and others!] who are free and do not live under Islam. The cumulative efffect can be that the gross injustices come to seem as somehow excusable or unexceptional. An infamous example is the weak international response today to the persecution of non-Muslims (not just Christians) under Islam...".
Durie goes on to talk about the fact that when we refuse to publicly and clearly challenge the wrongful conduct of Muslim countries, such behaviour "establishes A FRAMEWORK IN WHICH ISLAM TAKES ON THE ROLE OF A DOMINATOR THAT EXPECTS TO BE PRAISED, ADMIRED, AND STROKED. THE REACTION TO DESERVED CRITICISM, WHEN IT MANAGES TO FIND A VOICE, CAN BE SHOCK, DENIAL, AND OUTRAGE."
