Muslim protesters have burnt effigies of Pakistan's President Pervez Musharraf and American icon "Uncle Sam" in mass rallies against this week's deadly Red Mosque army raid."The military action on the Red Mosque is causing hatred in the hearts of Muslims in Pakistan," former parliamentarian Hafiz Fazal Mohammad told hundreds marching in the south-western city of Quetta, near the Afghan border.
Protesters in the 700-strong rally then set fire to a likeness of General Musharraf, the US-backed military ruler who ordered the assault on the Islamabad mosque compound that left 86 people dead.
"The Red Mosque has been turned into pool of blood of innocent Muslims," Anwarul Haq Haqqani, a local leader of religious party Tahafuz Khatam-e-Nabowat Pakistan, said.
"This was a barbaric action."
The army says the raid killed 11 soldiers and 75 people inside the mosque, most of them militants, although an army spokesman said 19 of the bodies were so badly burned "they could be anybody, any gender, any age."
Another 20,000 men, women and children offered prayers for the victims at a mosque in Lahore run by a hardline Islamist group that has been black-listed by the United States as a terrorist organisation.
Protesters there set fire to a puppet of "Uncle Sam," the national personification of the United States with a goatee and top hat, and waved banners threatening revenge against General Musharraf and US President George W Bush.
"Killer, killer, Musharraf, killer!" the crowd chanted. "Justice, justice, we seek justice!"
"This was genocide, hundreds of innocent women and children died," cleric Mohammad Saeed, the head of Jamaat-ud-Dawa, the political wing of the banned Kashmiri militant group Laskhar-e-Taiba, said.
"It is state terrorism, it is extreme brutality and those who killed the innocent will have a horrible fate," Saeed said....
Those protesters can shove their hypocrisy you-know-where, until they realize that it was the terrorists who endangered the innocent by hiding behind and among them.

When the "moderate" muslims are told to take action to stop this jihad, they just shrug and say that there are just a few radicals causing the rucus. If that is the case then it should be easy to stamp them with 1.4 (?) billion-to-a-few odds. They should be told to control their populations or the civilized world will do it for them. With a true invasion and some iron-handed post-population control, we could erase islam from the earth. It might take a generation or two but using N.Korea as a model, instead of worshiping mo, they would be worshiping anyone we chose.

And you know what the really interesting part will be? The world will barely utter a peep about his actions, just like when he stormed that mosque the other day and 100+ jihadists were killed. You know damn well if the U.S. military had done that the reaction would not have been -- pleasant.
Musharraf, Hussein, Ataturk ... if you want to run the show in the Middle East, just appear as if you are a Muslim and keep lots of soldiers handy.
Musharraf will still be gone from Pakistan, one way or another, before the end of 2 1/2 more years. I stand by my earlier predictions. But there will be a lot of blood-letting before that.

I do not see what the problem is. According to Islamic doctrine, one of the highest goals is to seek martyrdom. Musharraf simply gave them what they wanted.
The problem must be handled in a way that these people understand.. shoot these murderous "protestors". It's either them or us - no doubt about that.
This is an extremely dangerous situation. If this results in a firestorm that escalates, among the numberless Pakistani True Believers, into national rebellion, and the Musharraf regime is toppled and replaced with a Sunni theocracy, the odds will be increased greatly that Pakistan's nuclear arsenal will be used against India, against targets in Kashmir, or elsewhere. It is also quite possible some of these weapons will be donated to other Muslim territories, including Taliban-controlled areas of Afghanistan. We'd better hope that Musharraf has the requisite degree of nerve to be as ruthless as necessary to suppress these Red Mosque zealots. It will never end, unless Musharraf - and, if he prevails, his successors - rule with an iron hand, forever.
Absent this, we will have a nuclear war, I fear.
Musharraf has a lot of work yet to do.
Giving our bombers the go ahead for cleansing the "tribal region" of jihadis should be next.

Okay...so this Bozo managed to stir up 700 out of a city of an estimated 750,000. That's a pretty piss poor turnout. And yet the rest of the citizenry just does their daily thing whilst these a-holes go around representing them. No counter-protest to show how the majority of them REALLY feel. Sure makes you wonder. Well...some may be wondering. I'm beginning to come to a conclusion. I'm sure others already have. This is going to end so very badly for the Muslim world...just because they can't see, or if they do see, won't stand up to the evil in their midst. (I hate to see the destruction of so many lives as a direct result of brainwashing.) It's a good thing that death is what they seek. I'm quite certain that, if they do not purge themselves of the evil amongst them, they'll not be disappointed. The only solution, when a field is filled with wheat and weeds, is to plow it all under.
