100,000 rally for Sharia, Caliphate in Jakarta

Six years after 9/11, we have arrived at open rallies in support of the imposition of a worldwide Caliphate and Sharia law for everyone. That includes you. Tiny Minority of Extremists Update: 100,000 rally in Indonesia, hoping to impose upon you a future free of pesky things like freedom of conscience, equality of rights of men and women, and equality of rights for religious minorities.

"Stadium crowd pushes for Islamist dream," by Lucy Williamson for the BBC, with thanks to The One Who Must Not Be Named:

The dull roars of a football match, the twanging music of a youth group concert - from a distance it is not always easy to tell an Islamic conference from a holiday crowd.

Inside Jakarta's Gelora Bung Karno stadium the clues get easier. There are about 100,000 people inside, and everyone is in Islamic dress.

The women's section - by far the biggest - is a pitter-patter of ice-cream colours. On their parasols, one word is printed over and over again: Khilafah, caliphate.

This is the reason why people have come here. To show their support for a single, unified, Islamic state.

They have been invited by the international Islamist group, Hizb ut-Tahrir. Not everyone believed they would fill the stadium, but Hizb ut-Tahrir is good at bringing in supporters - and keeping them.

Of course. There is no exit door. Read it all.

"the imposition of a worldwide Caliphate and Sharia law for everyone"

A caliphate focused on dominating the world and imposing sharia law might *cough* be good. A central spot to focus our efforts. A bloated bureaucracy to swindle and lose all the oil revenues. Someone to hold accountable when "marginalized" "radical" "extremist" asian youths get roudy and blow stuff up. Surely they would be open and forthright about their goal to dominate the world, wouldn't they? They wouldn't lie and try to claim they were some sort of council of arab [sic] islamic relations focused on humanitarian and civil rights issues, would they? The Religion of Peace™ for everyone! Pass out the AK-47's and the dynamite belts. A caliphate focused on dominating the world and imposing sharia law might *cough, spit* be good.

Hmmm. Then again, maybe not.

"The women's section..." I'm waiting for Hillary, and her ilk, to express their concern with this segregation of women. After all, she complains about the Republican candidates for President being all white males unlike the Democratic candidates. Barack, your thoughts? Anybody with a "D" after their name - your thoughts?

Meanwhile, while the Jihad is conducted in various ways -- not merely or mainly qitaal, or combat -- all over the world, and while Muslim groups are attempting to subvert in every way they can the legal and politicial institutions, and social arrangements, within the lands of the Infidels, and to use the power of money to spread Islam, to buy up Western hirelings, and to threaten into silence all those who attempt to disseminate something like the truth about Islam, the American government, headed by the Grand Hallucinator, continues to be stuck to Tarbaby Iraq and to those "Iraqis" whom Bush likes to fantasize about, bravely "fighting" (why, just yesterday he told us that more Iraqis are dying than are Americans -- to which one wishes to say, if 26 or 27 million "Iraqis" cannot even now produce enough troops to "fight for freedom" for "ordinary moms and dads" and for the idea of a unified Iraq -- and they won't, and they can't, because Islam does not admit of a political system based on the will expressed by the people, rather than the expressed will of Allah, and Islam does not admit of an outcome based on compromise but enhcourages an attitude of Victor-and-Vanquished, and Winner Take All, which is exactly what the Shi'a are now demonstrating, as the Sunnis did, under the disguised Sunni despotism which ruled modern Iraq ever since the British left in 1932, and until the Americans arrived in 2003.

It is the ignorance of Islam (and, secondarily, of Iraq) that explains the American failure to achieve its goals in Iraq. It is ignorance of Islam (and, secondarily, of iraq) that explains the American failure to realize that the goals the Administration wishes to achieve are exactly the wrong goals, that instead of trying to unite Iraq it should welcome the sectarian and ethnic divisions within Iraq, and within the larger Camp of Islam as well, and should wish the fissures to widen in Iraq so that co-religionists on both sides outside Iraq would squander their money, their men, their war materiel.

It is the ignorance of Islam, finally, that explains why Bush and his loyalists continue to believe that somehow the problem with the Shi'a refusal to collaborate in what the Americans think should be done is not due to the failure of an individual leader, an al-Maliki or al-Jaafari before him. It is the collective will of the Shi'a not to surrender to the Sunnis any of the power the Shi'a now possess, and they will not do it. And it is not this or that obstinate Sunni group that refuses to acquiesce in the new balance of power in Iraq; it is the Sunnis, period. And the failure to make those compromises that the Bush Adminsitration believes possible are due entirely to the texts, tenets, attitudes, and atmospherics of Islam, which make such compromise impossible.

Well, with the Indonesian population being over 200 million, the head-in-the-sanders can write off even 100K as just a tiny minority. As Arafat said, "The womb of the Arab woman is my strongest weapon." In this case, it's not Arabs but non-Arab Muslims, but that just underscores the question: why is that Muslims are so fecund?

Wow...60 years ago, this "dream" would've been better known as "a target-rich environment".
lol

"Minorities" !

If I get it right, if there were more space in that Stadium more "minorities" pf Sharia yearning crowds would have have cramped in there ?

What if it was a 200,000 space stadium ?

Who said that Islam in South East Asia, Malaysia, Bengladesh and Indonesia is softer, more tolerant and open than the Arab lands ?

And... That a growing economy actually promotes democracy and alleviates poverty ?

Seems only India fits that understanding ;-)

When President Bush made his speech about the "Religion of Peace", I can understand how he might have believed he was telling the truth. When he decided to try to create a rule of the demos in Iraq, I can see how he might have really believed it was a possibility. Many people thought Islam was not too bad a religion in 2001. However,

The "War on Terror" has been going on nearly six years now. As busy as he is, he has had time to do his own research and not merely rely on the (mis-)information of advisors and "experts". As the leader and chief of a war, it is disturbing that he seems to be ignorant of some of the most elementary motivations and beliefs of his enemies.

While troop surges and such do seem to be helping the overall effort, while many of the people of Iraq are grateful for the US presence there, democracy in Iraq will only be maintained by a standing US occupation force or an Iraqi force that remains heavily dependent on US aid. They will be a dependancy of the US or they will have civil war in my opinion—I see no other option.

A modern caliphate would probably be no different from that of the Ottoman Turks. Of course they'll need concubines, young male slaves they can castrate, and swords, lots of, oh, weaponry, to protect it.

It is rather amusing how all of these women are typically washing their clothes on a rock somewhere until the opportunity for a photo-op arrives. You have to pity their wretched existences: beatings, submission, mutililating their own daughters. Then they have to publicly rally for an eternity of it.

Well, I'd say they've forgoten about the freedom of assemblies. Forgot they cut your head off later when they have final rule.

There definitely is a trend towards radicalization in the Islamic countries. I can think of Turkey, Gaza, Egypt, Jordan, Iran, Lebanon, Morocco, Afghanistan. Is Indonesia headed there as well? I've read news to that effect.
It's probably petrodollar related, education and propaganda funded by our Saudi friends, Iran or other Islamic troglodytes.
While taxpayers fund the space program, our energy dollars fund a return to Medieval times.

"The method used in Hizb ut-Tahrir is a change in thought patterns. We call it 'thought revolution'. When someone is given Islamic teaching - given the brilliant thinking of Islam - then they'll naturally undergo a thought revolution, and will see what is good and what is bad.

Wasn't this method of expanding religious cults once called brainwashing?

Wow - think I'm going to be sick.

PMK,
It WAS...
Today, they're known as rehab/re-education camps, known as "sensitivity training", where we westerners are sent when we use common sense instead of their dearly beloved political correctness...you're on the right track.

Bingo...especially in indonesia, the most populous mOslem nation in the world, where the obvious silence on the government's part is deafening...and for obvious reasons.

People should be very vigulant about event of this kind. Sociologicaly, this phenomena is not some show-off of again some extremists. If we take in account current social situation in Islamic world we will see that under enough strong pressure this caliphate could very much become leading political idea. I will name few reasons...
First economic situation in most countries of islamic world is extreme poverty. For many people you could, using demagogue methods, offer caliphate as solution for prosperity and sharing of wealth.
Second, general feeling among population propagated by terrorist leaders is that islam is in danger of western world and that unification is the solution. It can also be seen as a security solution against 'crusaders' and other non-believers.
Third, very important fact, and never to be forgoten is that this idea has supporters in all islamic countries!!! That means that under certain circumstances we could see first countries with those guys in power(if it is not the case already, not openly anyway)
Fourth, it is the pride issue. The fact that together they could for the first time feel as some superstate relevant to world politics. Don't forget that most of them still live with idea that they were leading civilisation at one point in history and that their place among nations has been taken away by foreign influence.

Now add to all this education level of avarage muslim and you will get a ticking bomb.
(i have to add that points that i made are from islamic perspective that we have to mind about in making decisions. Our reality is not theirs)

Now that caliphate would streach from Bosnia/Kosovo in Europe all the way to Indonesia. And add one Ahmadinejad in power and there you go...
Sad fact is that famous 'War on Terror' is just an election fraud.Western world strategy is full of double standards, under-the-table trades and personal interests. When we realise what is going on it will be to late.

Some of the critics critics of Robert and Hugh think they are alarmist in this matter. However, I think a few of their critics are perhaps beginning to get the uneasy feeling these guys are not alarmist, but are seeing reality with a cool head in this matter.

I think more people will wake up to this very real threat in the next few years. The primary difference between Robert, Hugh and their "multicultural" critics is that Robert and Hugh take belief-systems-religion seriously as a motive of behavior, but their critics don't, and hence their critics look to material or psychological explanations for Jihad. The critics condescend to all and fart platitudes about "tolerance". However, it is the beliefs, it is Islam that is the motive of Jihad behavior.

CAIR, al-qaeda, etc., want to impose Sharia law, weather its with foot-baths or with a Caliphate. Even the fraud Ibby Hooper and the other CAIR liar-slanderers must be taken seriously because they are motivated by Islam and will lie to impose their beliefs on others. They must not be underestimated. They will do whatever they have to do to impose their belief-system on unbelievers.

You are right. There is too much business as usual. We must get very serious about energy independence or else the "War on Terror" must be a fraud.

Think about it. Here, in jihad watch, is this story about a huge rally of Muslims in Jakarta, in favour of Sharia and a Caliphate.

Meanwhile, over in Dhimmi watch, we have the story about the mayor of Brussels forbidding a demonstration of native Europeans against "the Islamification of Europe" - because it might offend the Muslims.

Every non-Muslim in Indonesia and outside it should take note of the Jakarta rally - and jolly well be offended at its blatant aggression.

And non-Muslims from all over Western and Central Europe should be aiming to converge on Brussels in September. See if you can top 100 000, folks.

Well, frank...we CAN (forget the fact we're trying despite resistance) do just that...and it can start TOMORROW.
Get the aiders and abetters of islamism, aka, the eco-gestapo, out of the way & we can bring the jihadists` & their accomplice nations to their knees by years end...even before the large-scale oil flows in & the would-be new refineries begin producing (futures markets will plunge & will break the banks of the durkanese).

Nothing difficult about it.

Bring forth the Caliphate already. The faster we learn what we already know about our standing as the kuffar, directly by result of audio and video from Islamist "X", who's words actually meaning something in the sane world, the better.

Be thankful folks for websites like JW/DW which gets the word out on the dangers of Islamofacism.

When will leftists realize that these folks are an Islamic equivalent of the KKK. While the KKK represents the worst of Christianity their numbers are no more than 10,000 and mostly in the USA. Sharia Muslims number in the millions, but leftists and the secular media say nothing about this evil political/religious movement.

Original nazis would be a better comparison...

Shuttling a vehicle from Maine to Nevada. First night in Indiana. Second in central Nebraska. Got a rumbling in the passenger rear quarter in Ogalala. By the time the Ford made it to the Nebraska panhandle, the wheel bearing was out and I was stranded.

Spent the weekend in the Nebraska panhandle, in varying states of sobriety. Met a farming couple with thirteen grandchildren who were concerned about the finite amount of water. Nevada water prices have gone from $2,500/acre-foot to $30,000/acre-foot in my experience. In Nebraska, water is being rationed. The oil weapon way be countered by the food weapon some day soon.

Just got back from an evening with a concrete crew specializing in setting up wind farms. I asked the boss if they make money on windmills. He looked at me like I was an idiot.

Got the distinct feeling that we might just win this Clash of Civilizations.

People all over the world, for centuries, have yearned for freedom and justice, to be free of the oppression of their rulers. Muslims are the only people I know of that yearn to be free of freedom, and welcome oppression as the ideal way of living.

They are graphic proof of Islams power to twist the human spirit, to turn normal and abnormal Upside down in peoples minds.

What the people in Jakarta are saying is "give me oppresion or give me death."

The exact opposite of normal.

rational-

When you promise Paradise, eternally, as opposed to this brief vale of tears, you can con the naive and gullible into any temporary (this life only) sort of "self-sacrifice" (slavery to theocratic lunacy).

"Escape From Freedom" by Erich Fromm is worth a read.

And Freud's "Civilization and its Discontents".

Two books on the burn list for the Caliphate.

Having lived in Indonesia throughout the anti/pro Suharto riot times I would be very careful in giving too much credence to assumption of wide support that the head count is intended to give. In Indonesia it is common practise to PAY and give food to Orang Kampung and to bus them to and from demonstrations. As with everything else in Islam it is just slight of hand and deceit. Perception is all so they can trumpet what is being said in the Dhimmi MSM as 100,000 BELIEVERS. Local reports also give the more realistic number of 60,000. The real dangerous ones will be the FOREIGN Jihadists so I hope the local chapter of the CIA and Australian Secret Service were taking notes and photographs. The next time these guys are seen will most probably be in bits and pieces at some Terrorist atrocity.

Realist,

No kidding. Besides (as reported, more women than men), what do you think the conversation was like at the Indo-Muslim breakfast table that morning?

"So, dear wife, what are you and the children going to do today?"

:gulp: "Whatever you think is best, dear husband."

"That's what I like to hear. Why don't you head on over to the caliphate rally? Bring the kids, too. My brother will pick you up and take you. Couldn't have you wandering out there alone. And cheer loudly. The media are watching."

"I'm just going to assert our freedom of expression, dear husband. Thanks be to Allah for the opportunity."

What the people in Jakarta are saying is "give me oppresion or give me death."

The exact opposite of normal.

Muslims don't see it that way; they think that unification under a caliphate would empower the islamic world, make it relevant and strong. Strength, especially military power, is their goal. They believe in the might of the collective as illustrated by the tedious and repetitive reminders that there are "1.5 billion muslims" itching for the glory of jihad. They want to add some muscle to the jihad, some real firepower. The whole idea is ludicrous, since the various islamic sects have never been unified and never will be. Muslims yearn for power; they crave it like a drug addict craves drugs. In some ways, a centralized islamic authority would be beneficial. With one voice issuing fatwas and calling the shots, much of the dissembling and prevarication would end. There wouldn't be hundreds or thousands of imams and mullahs declaring what is and isn't "islamic" and situational islam would cease to exist, at least theoretically. There are too many greedy tyrants in the islamic world that would never relinquish their power to a caliphate.

It is suicidal to sell our enemies (like Saudi Arabia) our sophisticated weaponry, and train their pilots and military officers. We're training the maniacs in Iraq right now, giving away not only our weapons and equipment, but our techniques and strategy as well. We are educating the future leaders of the islamic world, exposing every vulnerable facet of our society and providing the finest educations available. They are incapable of establishing decent universities, yet they consider themselves superior to us. They will not return to their native hellholes with fond memories of a generous and kind America, grateful for their top-notch educations. They will return with the same contempt they had on arrival and put their educations to good use---plotting the destruction of America. So let them come to study computer sciences, engineering, chemistry, medicine, physics; al Qaeda and its affiliates need our technology and we're more than happy to give it to them.

PMK,

I quote you:

I am still laughing... with tears of ... well not joy...

I just hope that the next president will be an authentic american and assume his or her spine and use his or her brain and reason ! We need a force that will demonstrate coherence and right now, this Islam inspired rising tide combines educated and poverty stricken people of all etchnic background and nations...

After Hilaly the grand Mufti of Australia insulted uncovered Australian women by comparing raw meat left on the ground for grabs by dogs and cats...

The outrage of the Muslim communities was... well silent like with some echoes of whispering tenderness. "Thousands" of Australian Muslim did not feel pertinent to see the Grand Mufti resign ;-)

I always said the preachers don't bother me, expose them, let us hear their hate and bigot speach... Yet what demonstrate there is an issue is when even here in North American, these preacher fill stadium and spit on America, the west and the rest.

And the more dangerous and fanatical the islamic world gets, the more western leaders call for dialogue and appeasement.

‘STOP THE ISLAMIFICATION OF EUROPE’ DEMONSTRATION (11th SEPT)

Freddy Thielmans, Mayor of Brussels, has banned a demonstration which was scheduled to take place on Tuesday 11th September at 1pm outside the building of the European Parliament to protest against the relentless ‘Islamification of Europe’. The organisers are now mounting a formal legal challenge to the Mayor’s right to take this action.

Until this matter is properly resolved they cannot endorse or accept any responsibility for any protest made by any individual or group of individuals.

However the Mayor of Brussels has no power to prevent tourists from visiting his city. Visitors to this website might like to consult ‘sioe.wordpress.com’ to gain helpful information about visitor amenities and tourist attractions in Brussels

I have just finished Lee Harris' new book "The Suicide of Reason, Radical Islam's Threat to the West. He brings a very clinical analysis of the problem much different than any I have seen; he is in basic agreement with Hugh on Iraq, but that is only a few lines in his overarching theme. The West is faced with a tribal culture that it believes can be reasoned with. But reason is not part of their culture, or vocabulary. Recommended reading.

How many Muslims support the goal of a global Caliphate and the mandatory imposition of shari'a? Some might half-heartedly disagree with the methods of the jihadists but share their goals. Are they any more "moderate" if they want to achieve the same goals through demographics or bribery? Others might agree with the goals, but would not admit it the infidels when living in Dar al Harb. Others might disagree with the goal of a global Caliphate, for being the unrealistic dreams of jihadists living in the "glory" of Islam's past; but if the goal were to become realistic, by any of the means Hugh listed, would they suddenly become supporters?

We are not in a "war on terror", any more than WWII was a "war on hand-grenades". We are in a war to defend ourselves from a "religion" that devalues all non-believers and insists that it must be the only religion. And we mustn't forget that the ones strapping on the bomb-vests are not the only ones we need to keep track of.

"Wow...60 years ago, this "dream" would've been better known as "a target-rich environment"."

If history repeats itself then we will need another 20 years to wake up. The Nuremberg Rallies first started in 1923. You can be assured though that things will a lot faster though this time around.

I've posted on my site copies of the English language propaganda films - you might want to take a look at them.

There is no talking our way out of this - there is no winning of hearts and minds here - it will take blood and steel to defend liberty.

Lao
An American Expat in Southeast Asia

Assalamau Laikum all,

Someone said "we have arrived at open rallies in support of the imposition of a worldwide Caliphate and Sharia law for everyone. That includes you".

Well ofcourse it does, it would ignorant of some Amerike to think that while driving their fast cars, chewing tabacco and having a nuke in his backpocket somehow makes him immune from the all seeing and all knowing Allah SWT.

As more muslims make their home in the West ...they want it to be home like "back home" if you know what I mean.....and that means sharia and moves towards a caliphate. The mistake that you are making is not getting involved.

Never forget ....this is your childrens future too....you may live your life with dogs and cats and the odd child....but what about that child? You are ignoring your responsibility by not thinking about it!

If you get involved ...you can help shape sharia to a mutual standard....sharia is inevitable globally ...this may take decades...but it only remains to see what form it takes...so you better get involved...dialogue...understand, and practice.

As to practice...a minor secodary point arises ....some peoples here are worried about "segregation of women". I mean for Allah's SWT sake....segregation has been there for 100s of years in all cultures....it is only you in West who want's disrupt the successful roles and rules that have existed millenia for womens.

As a result of this ....there are more broken homes, more belligerent womens, wild slutty womens, drugs, and less childrens.

Womens may indeed want to burn their bras for equality....but then they will be crying for "support"....no keep them on and know your place in society ....as I do.

A third point is to government policy.....Allah T'allah SWT has to be central to government policy....he gives us the air we breathe, the food that we eat, he tills the land and creates earthquakes to renew land and peoples ...all which we need to be grateful for....even though we may not understand his logic.....but then that is why we are his slaves and not the other way round.

Like I said peoples....get with the program....

"Naseem, what the hell are you blabbering about?
Posted by: EliasAlucard"

What does it matter? It riles you up, and I get a good laugh about it.
Now if you ignored me, I've had less fun.

Naseem.

Hmmm, a global Islamic Caliphate eh?

Sounds like mob rule to me, where everyone is free to be the beast within and, lo and behold, Allah approves.

Feel like some blood sports?
No problem; amputations, beheadings and stonings will abound, in every football stadium; fun for all the family.

Pedophilia perhaps?
If the Caliphate runs out of infidel girls, we can always marry each other's daughters, and od course the little boys don't count ;)

Some bloody jihad, with all the fun of killing infidels?
Well natch, if there are any left ;)

How about some female genital mutilation?
Work out those misogynistic feelings on your own daughter.

Sorry, everything that is wholesome and good, *ptooey*, is haram :(

"De facto" (i.e. in fact) sharia is the law of islamia. De facto the caliphate already exists. The national governments from Indonesia to Morocco are more or less insignificant to the law that most moslems live under today which is governed by their neighborhood mosques. Effectively, the caliphate and sharia are already in fact the law for all moslems in all countries from Indonesia to Morocco.

The moslems in this article are looking to formalize islam and the caliphate "de jure." These folk are looking to legally formalize islam (de jure) what is already islam de facto "in fact."

Islam is at war with the west. The west is losing in the war of islam against the west. Sharia law already predominates adjacent to wherever a mosque is located. islam has not only effectively replaced the modern nation state as law of the local community and has obsoleted vestige governments from Indonesia to Morocco left over from 19th century interactions with the west. Moreover, where moslem populations predominate sharia is the local law. Even within the west there is overwhelming accumulated evidence that the law of sharia is in fact today the law adjacent to the little mosque on the prairie: Bayonne; Malmo; Bidonville Paris; Milano; Brussels, Londonstan, etc.

Islam is at war with the west. The west is losing.

it goes to show...Indonesia has at least 100,000 fools...

On the other hand a Global Caliphate might be a GOOD thing after all it would need a Headquarters and a Country in which to put it. We would then have a fully defined enemy to retaliate on when ANY Muslim outrage takes place. One innocent Western civilian killed one Cruise Missile on its way. Come on you know it makes sense. My selection for caliphate HQ would be Mecca and the host country of course Saudi with branch offices in Pakistan,Iran,Syria,West Bank,Gaza,Yemen etec etc. What a target rich environment that would be.

Realist,

Mecca is the spiritual center of the caliphate today, regardless of what happens in Baghdad, Yemen or Cairo. Why wait for them to officially name a center? Saudi Arabia should be ground zero and every Muslim-dominated country is a target.

But what do we do with countries like India and the Philippines, with their own history of combatting jihad? Surely there are Muslim sites "of interest" there as well, to say nothing of our "ally" in Pakistan.

he tills the land and creates earthquakes to renew land and peoples

So you believe Allah created the 2005 Pakistani earthquake that killed 80,000+ of your ummah/countrypeople as part of his great, grand, holy policy of sharia?

...and who could forget December 2004, when he "renewed" things there, too.

Yep...the Lord works in mysterious ways.
(/sarc)

Naseem is a troll. I've told it multiple times that the plural of 'women' is not 'womens', and she pretends to ignore it. Obviously just a troll setting out to annoy.

Ignore it.
