Here is yet another indication of the deeply ingrained mendacity of the Council on American Islamic Relations.
In "CAIR’s Reputation and Incredibly Fluctuating Membership Roll," the Investigative Project on Terrorism (IPT) notes that in CAIR's amicus brief in the Holy Land Foundation terror charity trial, CAIR complains:
This negative reaction by the American public can be seen in the decline of membership rates and donations resulting from the government’s publicizing of CAIR as an unindicted co-conspirator.
Yet just two months ago, CAIR claimed just the opposite, in the words of cofounder Nihad Awad:
Our membership is increasing steadily, as is our donor base, annual budget, and attendance at CAIR events around the country promoting interfaith understanding and respect for civil liberties.
So which is it, Nihad? Is your membership and donor base increasing steadily, or declining? Will you and your colleagues just say anything if you believe it is to your advantage? Can you explain, in the light of self-contradictions like this, why any government or media organization should accord your group any credibility at all?

...with the many recent Muslim terrorist convictions for terrorist organization affiliations Muslisms are now distancing themselves from being associated with those organizations with know terrorist ties (such as CAIR)....they do not want to be "discovered" too soon...I suspect the CAIR membership is dropping fast, like a lead balloon....and the CAIR donations are becoming past history (or at least more covert)....

CAIR's membership total waxes and wanes according to the needs of the moment. When trying to scare infidels, the membership totals go up to make them look all powerful. When it's time to play the victim game the membership total goes down so they appear to be a tiny group of persecuted peaceniks. This smoke and mirrors trickery is essential for the wellbeing of this group-keeping the enemy in the dark is always a key principle of warfare.
If they keep messing around with their numbers, the IRS is going to get interested in them. They probably already are. If they think the Justice Dept is bad, wait till the IRS gets done with them.
Hooper and the boys will be nearly naked and in the street. The IRS in heat is a sight to behold and no one with any grey matter wants to run into that.
I think CAIR is nearly out of business, but that won't mean that the cast of characters is giving up. They will just reappear in different cloths, with a different name...
I hope there is a way to forward this very damning statement to the prosecutors in the HLF case. They could include it in their response brief, or maybe even in a letter, to the judge who probably has CAIR's motion to remove their name under advisement.
One did not realize, until CAIR made it plain, that the American government and, presumably, American citizens, have a duty to ensure that nothing whatever is done that might damage CAIR's membership rolls and its income. But how can it guarantee that CAIR itself will not behave in ways that will scare some off (including some True Believers who just don't want, for now, dearly as they support CAIR, to be linked to it--it might, for example, be bad for business) supporters.

Muslims appear to have no genuine respect for our man-made laws in the West -- Even those so-called "moderates" among them seem only to follow our laws until such time as Islam can secure their cherished 'sharia' laws of Allah on our soil.
In their triumphal arrogance it's very likely that they will make many mistakes while exploiting our laws to forward their own hideous ones -- and certainly, since lying is central to Islam's jihad against the "infidel" -- they can probably be caught up in our own laws of perjury. It' seems this legal brief may be littered with brazen falsehoods and lies -- one of which would be their claim to have lost membership due to the fact they're unindicted co-conspirators in terror related activities --
Are their any lawyers who might weigh in on this? Is it perjury to falsify a legal brief in this manner? I also think every time the deny their terror connections in a legal document they are also knowingly lying about the facts.
The snare of their own innumerable lies should be something we use against them at every opportunity -- this isn't Lahore, after all, where ANYTHING goes, as long as it comports with Islam!
