My notorious address at YAF went off as planned yesterday, with nary a CAIR protestor in sight. I suspect, however, that Ibrahim and Co. will receive a full report. Here is an editorial from the Washington Times about this imbroglio:
Another week, another threat of lawsuit by the Council on American-Islamic Relations. This time, the group behind the Minneapolis "flying imams" lawsuit are targeting the Young America's Foundation, the nonprofit that owns President Reagan's Santa Barbara Ranch. YAF's "offense": Inviting author and terrorism analyst Robert Spencer to speak at a conference yesterday afternoon for a lecture titled "The Truth About the Council on American-Islamic Relations." Among other things, the real CAIR story features less-than-flattering facts, such as the "unindicted co-conspirator" label CAIR earned in June in a Hamas terror-funding case, and the several people in the group's orbit who have been indicted on terrorism-related charges. CAIR would rather try to frighten its critics than debate them.As CAIR's lawyer warned YAF Wednesday: "Our clients have instructed us to pursue every available and appropriate legal remedy to redress any false and defamatory statements that are made at the session." This comes from a group which claims to "encourage dialogue."
This is an outrageous bid at intimidation. A more normal advocacy organization would seek to debate its opponents. Sadly, this litigiousness is commonplace for CAIR, whose activities could be scarcely more different from its mission statement. CAIR claims to strive to "be a leading advocate for justice and mutual understanding" and to "enhance understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding." It could scarcely do less of each.
Recall that CAIR is behind one of the most troubling recent lawsuits, the case of the "flying imams," in which unnamed U.S. Airways "John Does" are targeted. The anonymous passengers tipped authorities to what they believed was suspicious activity by six imams on a Minneapolis airplane last November. For their troubles, they got sued. Even House Democrats buckled last week on tipster immunity because they recognize that to be associated with CAIR's contention that good-faith tipsters should be liable in court over false alarms would be politically suicidal. Recall also that CAIR is the group which bullied Boeing Corp. to stop advertising in the conservative magazine National Review over the latter's sale of the books "The Life and Religion of Mohammed" and "The Sword of the Prophet." Some "dialogue" this is.
If CAIR has nothing to hide, it should simply debate. Mr. Spencer is one of the most outspoken critics of radical Islam in the country; it would be a lively debate. Instead, it sues.
I can see the headline now, "Federal Judge Awards Reagan Ranch to CAIR in Landmark Hate Lawsuit Victory."
If calling it like it is, as you do, is considered "notorious" (still laughing about that one, lol), it should be worn as a badge of Honor.
"...with nary a CAIR protester in sight!"
LOL, what a bunch of cowards the Mohammedans at CAIR are, in particular, Doug Hooper, their fear-filled leader. If he doesn't have the skirts of dhimmi American lawyers to hide behind, he's a no-show!
This is a great article in the "WT." Yes, as usual, Mohammedans don't want to debate, they want to SILENCE.
That is the way of the Mohammedan. If they could still do it by the sword, a la Mohammed, they would.
That hapless clod Dougie Hooper has a thing for you Mr. Spencer. He and his foreign paymasters know how effective this site is
CAIR is running wild on lawsuits because they have a $50 million war chest. Money donated by an Arab nation. Dougie and the other CAIR honchos need to be confronted on their foreign funding. I want to hear them conform or deny it. CAIR also bought and moved into very nice new HQ building in Washington DC. Foreign funded too like most US mosques?
How about it Doughy Dougie? Are you are a registered foreign agent as the law requires it?
Hi Doug Hooper, because you're probably reading these comments.
You should change your name to "Abdullah" or whatever else besides "Ibrahim." Know why? Because Islam is not an Abrahamic religion. In fact, it's not a religion at all. It's a Terrorist Organization using it's heresy of Christian doctrine as a front.
Fabulous that Mr. Spencer did have his talk at the YAF, isn't it, Abdullah?! This is America, not an Islamic Orwellian dictatorship - you're not going to SILENCE us. In fact, your strong-arm tactics only make us more determined!
"Doughy Dougie" - LOL. He sure is living off the fat of the land in America, isn't he? At the same time that he seeks to subdue and silence America's Christians and Jews.
Well, go have another Hostess Ding-Dong, Doughy Dougie, 'cause America doesn't like gestapo's, ya dig?
REMEMBER THE INCINERATED VICTIMS OF 9/11.
You can bet dougie the druggie hoopty, his shariatrooper brownshirts, and their faithful islamoJUGEND are fast trying to regroup as we speak...
...they've been knocked clear on their asses, but like terminators typically are, they'll be back!
Hey Hooper - YOU LOSE! (GLOAT).
CAIR losing just couldn't be more deserved...
Only a fool would voluntarily engage in a debate knowing beforehand that they are arguing for the losing position.
Let's get to work on that warchest of CAIR. Let's get some reverse-jizyah payment from their Saudi masters already.
Please FLOOD the lawyer and firm with email copies of this article! Do your JW duty! : - D
Ah, what a joy, we are soon to lead a CAIRFREE life.
OH how the mighty have fallen. Could not happen to a
nicer bunch of guys...
Moon-Dougie has neither the cojones nor the intellectual ammunitioin to go one on one with Mr.Spencer. It'll be interesting to see what the CAIR house attorneys do. My bet - slither back under their rock on Capital Hill, if they want to maintain thier DNC connections.
I'll hold on celebrations until after word is received that RICO was enforced to confiscate CAIR'S assets.
It sounds suspiciously like CAIR's concept of "dialogue" is cutting the heads off of non-Muslims in the name of al-lah while chanting "allahu akbar" and then later telling the American public in TV ads that "Islam means peace."
One thng I can guarantee: we will NEVER (not in a million years) get an honest debate out of the Council on American-Islamic Relations!
********************************************************************************
(Being labeled something like 'notorious' in the media by CAIR probably means the unsavory folk there are tacitly if not begrudgingly acknowledging that an "infidel" has seen through Islam's propagandistic shenanigans and violence--and CAIR's terrorist-officials are likely more than a little outraged by the prospect of any infidel possessing the audacity to outwit them which at such a point they compensate by stigmatizing the offending 'unbeliever' with a pejorative name in the media like 'notorious' etc).
It will only be a matter of time before more and more people see through CAIR. Someone will come along, someone with power and the neceassary resources, and take care down a notch. Americans do not like to be subject to intimidation or blackmail in blatent attempts to damage our constitutional rights. Time, time, time. All it takes is time.

"author and terrorism analyst Robert Spencer"
It's stupid of me but I'd never thought of Robert Spencer specifically as a terrorism analyst, but that's exactly what he is, in addition to being a scholar of Islam.
The Notorious R.S!
We keep reading that CAIR has _______ number of members.
But are they members or are they all paid employees?
Well there is a way to clean CAIR's clocks: take out a counter lawsuit on CAIR as far as YAF is concerned. CAIR, IMHO is on the ropes, with few members, the fact that more people are getting a little bit wiser in the USA, and it has to depend on Saudi money to survive. Mr. Hooper is going to regret the decision to go after Jihadwatch or YAF bigtime.
CAIR uses our corrupt, sue-happy legal system against us. Non-stop lawsuits are an insidious form of intimidation, which is why they support sueing innocent people that report suspicious behavior.
The Church of Scientology for many years has used the same tactics to go after critics (like the Cult Awareness Network) and in many cases bankrupts them. It doesn't matter how ridiculous the lawsuit, most people can't afford the thousands of dollars in legal fees to protect themselves. Maybe there ought to be spontaneous lawsuits around the country against CAIR and see how they like it.
CAIR has learned well. They are attempting to take Mr Spencer down the old road of,
if we repeat the lie enough (Mr Spencer is a deceiver) it will eventually become a fact in and of itself.
"CAIR claims to strive to [...] and to "enhance understanding of Islam"
CAIR certainly has enhanced MY understanding of Islam. Thanks Dougie, every time you speak, I understand more. I used to think there might just be some redeeming values in Islam.

Well, I can't say CAIR has "enhanced" my understanding of islam, but it sure has reaffirmed it! I've always wondered exactly what their goal of "empowering muslims" means. It is an ambiguous statement, but I think I understand. Empowered muslims are the last thing we need in America; they're dangerous enough powerless.
Imagine America with "empowered" muslims, especially if they are empowered with money from Saudi benefactors, like CAIR and dozens of other terrorist organizations. They could buy political favors, which they're already doing in heavily muslim -infested areas. They could buy many things that islam will never obtain on its own merits, and that is a frightening prospect.
What redeeming merits did you ever see in islam? I've been looking for over twenty years and I have yet to find a single, solitary "merit" in this wretched "religion". Without love, religion is meaningless, and islam is devoid of love.
if there are any readers here that live in Arkansas, i would like to hear from you. thanks.
Oh, you are so right, susanp - just what is "empowering Muslims" supposed to mean?
Right - GOD HELP US IF THEY BECOME ANY MORE "EMPOWERED." THAT MEANS THEY'LL BE ABOUT TO TAKE OVER. That is one very very scary phrase.
Also, I agree with you that I've never found one, not one, "redeeming" value in Islam. The whole Death and Misogynist Cult needs to be banned in Western nations.
