Dusseldorf (dpa) - A court in Germany's most populous state of North Rhine-Westphalia upheld a ban Tuesday on Muslim female teachers wearing headscarves in schools.Wearing a headscarf violated a state regulation against religious symbols in public schools, the administrative court in the western city of Dusseldorf ruled.
The case was brought by a 52-year-old secondary school teacher, who said she would appeal Tuesday's ruling.
Authorities in North Rhine-Westphalia imposed a ban on headscarves in June 2006.

Breitbart is reporting that this teacher is a convert to islam, and used the "Grace Kelly" defense, called so for a movie Kelly appeared in wearing a headscarf. The judge didn't buy it. He said that Grace Kelly wore the scarf on and off in the movie (mostly when riding in a convertible), and this teacher wants to don it fulltime for religious reasons.
So a court's time was taken up watching an Alfred Hitchcock film. Amazing. I guess this teacher will have to get a convertible if she wants to appeal.
These headscarves should be permitted.....Once a year, on October 31st, between the hours of 5:30 and 7:30pm.
Work outfits should be functional not propagandal.
