We are the resistance. We will keep fighting and never give up our weapons until Israel withdraws," said Ayad Frehat, a Brigades leader in the West Bank city of Jenin.
"Whenever the Israeli army acts in the West Bank, we will fight side-by-side with our brothers from the other resistance movements," Frehat told WND.
Frehat is on a list of Brigades members presented to Israel for amnesty consideration.
Last month, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert granted amnesty to 178 members of the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, the declared "military wing" of Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah's organization, in exchange for pledges not to engage in terrorist activity.
The Brigades, along with Islamic Jihad, has taken responsibility for every suicide bombing in Israel the past three years. The amnesty agreement reportedly was made as an Israeli gesture to Abbas' and to bolster Fatah against Hamas in the West Bank.
Israel issued documents for the 178 Fatah fugitives to sign, pledging their resignation from any so-called paramilitary organizations. The wanted militants – who comprise much of the senior Brigades leadership – also were required to turn in their weapons, spend a week in a PA holding area and restrict their movements to the area in which they reside for three months. After that, they would be allowed to move freely throughout the West Bank.
Planet earth to Olmert: this isn't a fishing competition where you catch it, weigh it, and release it so it can get bigger for next time. It isn't even a biological study program where you stick a radio beeper on it and release it into the wild to track its mating, fighting and migration habits by satellite.
This is a WAR against an enemy that wants every Jew in Israel either enslaved or dead, dead, dead.
Anybody else here get a sneaking sort of feeling that those young IDF soldiers fighting their way down dark alleys in, say, Jenin or Qalqiliya are going to be, shall we say, somewhat more inclined to shoot first and ask questions afterward, than they would have been before this piece of folly? At least if they kill the bad guy instead of trying to capture him they only have to risk their lives once.
If they catch the guy alive he'll get let go after a little while and sooner or later they'll be going right back down that dark alley again to try to winkle him out, and more of them will die.

One of the project's volunteers suggested contacting Rep. Sue Myrick, who started the anti-Jihad caucus in Congress. I'll try to coordinate this project with Rep. Myrick to maximize its effectiveness. I've also been calling various congressional offices to get advice on how best to go about this. And I'll soon contact Regnery, Robert Spencer's publisher, to ask their advice and to see if we can coordinate with them in some way.

Absolutely. Prior to 1938 the Nazis carefully crafted a propaganda campaign that pictured the Germans in the Sudetenland as "victims" of Czech "racial hatred" and manufactured incidents in the region to sway world opinion of the necessity of that part of Czechoslovakia being "returned" to the Reich. It was all meant to appeal to PC emotion re ethnic and national "self-determination". The Czechs were made to look like the Nazis really acted in matters of "minority rights". It was all a farce that was meant to undermine Czechoslovakia and make it vulnerable to military action since the Sudetenland had terrain and defenses (and industry) that needed to be neutralized. The whole thing culminated in Munich as Chamberlain (in good PC form) gave in to Hitler re the "victims" in the Sudetenland.
The issue then was the use of methods of intimidation by the Nazis, the use of psychological warfare by the Nazis, to make the Allies feel guilt for Versailles, for causing "racial hatred" against the Germans in the Sudetenland. Seven years later, in 1945, the world was a bit wiser as to the methods used in 1938 and no one was farting PC platitudes re "victims" when the Czechs expelled every German from in Sudetenland. That's what should have been done in 1938.
Much of PC is the result of carefully orchestrated propaganda meant to evoke guilt (via projected hate posing as "indignation" on the part of real aggressors) against the real victims and targets of supremacist hatred. The Sudetenland act is well played again and again in our time.

I once heard an interview (7-8 years ago) in which David Horowitz made the point that "the issue is not the issue" in such matters. The "Palestinian" issue is to Israel as the "Sudetenland Germans" were to Czechoslovakia. The issue in 1938 was the destruction of Czechoslovakia. The PC "weaklings" at that time were blind to the Nazi agenda, and they are blind now to the aggressive-predatory agenda of Islam. Current PC is as blind to the real issue as Chamberlain was to the issue with the Nazis.
In our time, the "oppressed minority" as "victim" is often a theatrical act as it was in the Sudetenland where a carefully crafted Nazi propaganda campaign of name calling, accusations, lies, slander, were meant to paralyze, silence, intimidate and subdue the target to the agenda of the predatory aggressor. BTW, when I read your comment re "the elites" being "out of touch" I could not agree more. Any fairly decent presidential candidate that calls for a Manhattan Energy Project" will win. The people know what the elites don't realize because "the elites" are headquartered in Washington. Unless we get serious about energy independence this "war on terrorism" is a farce. The public is going to demand this at some point in the future unless some savvy politician sees what the people see and calls for a Manhattan Project for energy independence. We cannot continue to do business with the Jihad Family gas stations.

The parallels to today are close indeed. Full "Self-determination" for the palestinian Arabs means no self-determination for Jews. Further, one of the British foreign policy influentials, maybe Lord Halifax or Lord Runciman, put out a "report" [maybe like the Baker-Hamilton report or Walt-Mearsheimer] that charged the Czechs with unfairly setting up Czech "colonies" or "settlements" in the Sudetenland, just as Israel is acccused today of unfairly setting up Jewish "colonies" in "occupied palestinian territories." Living the good life and not wanting anything, or admitting that anything threatens it, is how I would describe most people in this country, and certainly our ruling elites. Thanks for the validation. The two "self-determination" issues are similar in that neither were/are really the issue. The issue was the destruction of Czechoslovakia in 1938, the issue is the destruction of Israel as per Islamic dogma now. The truth is that if every Jewish person in Israel were only those who fled to Israel from the Mideast (Morocco, Gulf States, Iraq, etc.)to escape Muslim tolerance, the Jihad would still be on and most of the excuses for it would be exactly the same as they are now.
Until I came to this site, like most people, I would scratch my head in wonder at why the Arabs did not come to an understanding with Israel. After all, the Jewish State could be a great boon to the region. But it is Islam, its dogmas, that make any use of reason impossible in this matter. I don't foresee a good end (for them) in this matter.
The Jihadists and many other Muslims (CAIR, e.g.) have become very good at playing the Goebbels style "victim" game as they plan and engage in aggressive-predatory behavior everywhere. A lot of their tactics are straight out of the Goebbels play book and Mein Kampf.

Good point, Frank. The "victim" game is not an end, but yet another means to the same end as directed by Qur'an:8:39 "Fight them until all opposition ends and all submit to Allah." Simply put, "victim" game is the 'deciet' part of 'War is deciet'.

VIAHJ...back in the gold rush days in California USA, there were many Chinese miners. One of the things said of them, is that they never moved a rock, and placed it where they would have to remove it again. Why move it twice.
