1. Neither Hugh nor I have ever said that all Muslims are terrorists or support terrorism.
2. Neither Hugh nor I have ever advocated killing all Muslims.
3. Neither Hugh nor I have ever advocated using nuclear weapons on Iran and Mecca.
4. Neither Hugh nor I have ever advocated building concentration camps to imprison all American Muslims.
5. Neither Hugh nor I have ever advocated that the solution to the Iraq problem is to simply kill all Iraqis, friend and foe.
6. Neither Hugh nor I wish the conflict between the West and the Islamic world to continue, expand, or be enflamed.
Claims to the contrary on any of these or similar points are false, maliciously defamatory, libelous.
Let that be at least a minimum standard for the commenters here. We fear what we don't understand, and we hate what we fear. Robert is chief amoung those who are bringing understanding to us in the West - so that we need not act out of fear and hate.

Prejudice means the expressing of a negative opinion based on insufficient evidence. Many of the opinions expressed here are negative, but they have solid support from doctrinal and news sources and therefore are not prejudicial.
On the other hand, the negative opinions of this site, of Robert and Hugh, are often baseless and it is those opinions that are libelous.

Those accusations are the most pathetic things I've seen to date...from anyone...they don't know what the hell they're talking about.
All reasonable readers know that the JW staff does not advocated violent, extremists positions. The main problem seems to be with Muslims themselves who read JW or know others who visit the JW site. They are not accustom to nor ready to accept any criticism or negative viewpoint about Islam. Islam is always to be superior, beyond reproach or question. This is how Islam must operate with its own members, given the fact that no one can leave the religion without severe punishment or death. The saying, "An open mind is a dangerous thing," applies especially well to Muslims. Their minds must be closed to so many realities; they must also attempt to close down questions and doubts by others. The attacks on JW will probably increase; Too many people are beginning to have serious questions about the belief system that bills itself as 'the religion of peace.'
Well, when people have nothing to defend their indefensible behaviour, then the only thing left to do is to lie about their opponent. This is exactly what CAIR an Co. are doing to Robert and Hugh.
Let 'em. The truth wins out at the end of the days.

Seeing as how the Council on Arab-Infidel Relations relies on a strategy of intimidation via lawsuit, maybe a big fat libel/defamation case turned their way would be appropriate.

In some of my wilder rants, I (who am neither "Hugh nor I" nor the mysterious "Charles", the "owner" of the site LFG [sic]), fueled by my favorite non-halal hydrocarbon, may have in frustration advocated some of the above options. Jest, sarcasm, frustration (and my favorite hydrocarbon) are the cause.
What I would actually prefer is "Live and let live": If you want to collect fungi in the park, fine. Just don't try to change the age old laws of this land so that non-fungi collectors are compelled to join your fungi collection outings. If you wish to call the blue sky an off-chartruese, fine. My forebears and I havebeen happy calling the sky blue for a few millenia, we are uninterested in changing that designation. If you are a non-Westerner who wishes to enjoy the prosperity of the West, when you get here, chill out (relax, calm down, take it easy).
There is only one religion I have difficulty with, only one that I am really annoyed by. Why? To force me, my people, my culture, my land to give up our way of life for theirs is its primary goal. While many other religions ask, bribe and wheedle people to change, this religion that irks me gives no options other than change or die. To be sure, they are not completely cold-hearted—they offer slavery as a middle of the road option.
The culture, the laws, the people of the West do have some problems. Let us fix them. You, as an outsider, if you come here are expected to cope with them, and not change anything. It's a family affair and you are meddling. If any of us began to say things that sound totalitarian or tyrannical, don't take it to heart. What we are trying to say is "Either sit down and be quiet or leave." We would be happy if you would stay, so long as you wish to either join our family or, realizing you don't want to change, quietly put up with the way things are. If neither of those options appeal to you, there is a third option: Leave.
I have known kindly people of this religion who were indeed happy that they had been allowed into our lands and were content to leave things as they are. To these I ask: Some of your family members are being a bit unruly, would you please try to keep them in control or ask them to leave?

Far from wishing to "kill all Muslims" or put them in camps, or whatever other idiocy is falsely charged above, the main participants in this website share, at this point, the notion that Infidels must learn all they can about the contents of Qur'an, Hadith, and Sira, that they should read what they need to read of the necessary guides (hint: not espositos and armstrongs), in order to comprehend such matters as the interpretive doctrine of "naskh," that they should be especially attentive to the history of Jihad-conquest and of the subsequent treatment, from Spain to East Asia, of the non-Muslims -- Christians, Jews, Zoroastrians, Hindus, Buddhists, and others -- whose lands Muslims conquered and then dominated, a treatment, or mistreatment, unsurprisingly quite similar in time and in space.

Why do they not accuse this website of the main charge? That is something that CAIR, and all the CAIRS of this world, do not dare even to mention, for it is too true a charge, and mere quoting of it will cause some Believers to begin, ever so slightly at first, to have their faith waver. Indeed, it is fitting that JW officially spell out its position, but as to various posters who do say such things -- will they be sold out in the future and left to fight individually against the vast resources of CAIR?
So why do people say such things in the first place?
Resonable people who have always lived their lives in peace are now confronted with islam and have seen mass-murders, beheadings, and horrors that go beyond merely criminal.
These people have been subsequently assulted by changes in their own laws which protect these actions because the governments which are supposed to protect them against such atrocities, have been bought out with the enormous sums of cash from those who wish to impose islam on all the world.
So, resonable people are justifiably threatened and fearful. Is it unreasonable to expect them to respond mass atrocities such as 9/11 with calls for reciprocol action? Was it unresonable for Britian to bomb Dresden during WW2?

I have read every article posted at this site, and a great multitude of the reader comments attached to same, since the fall of 2005. I can attest that what Robert says above is true without reservation.
That some frustrated and angry readers occasionally make extreme comments along these lines is certainly true. But Robert and Hugh never endorse such ideas, and routinely rebuke posters of such comments.
Here are the main messages that have come across to me from this site: 1)that terrorism, as merely one dimension of global jihad warfare (which includes non-violent warfare, such as propaganda, legal intimidation, demographic conquest, deception, and subversion), has its roots firmly in Islamic ideology, which is based directly on the supremacist writings of the Koran and the distinctively violent example of Mohammed, 2) that both Muslims and non-Muslims need to face this fact squarely if any progress is to made toward someday stopping terrorism and jihad and reducing the chance of a violent global "clash of civilizations," 3) that Western civilization is presently under existential threat from a modern resurgence of an Islamic imperial imperative, which has always been at the core of Mohammedan ideology and has always been exhibited in Mohammedan international behavior since the founding of Islam, 4) that this assault on the West will not end until Islam is somehow reformed from within, 5) that, in the meantime, the West must defend itself, especially by protecting its ideals of free speech and freedom of conscience, 6) that, as part of defending itself, the West must never encourage or unwittingly participate in Islamic deception and denial about Mohammedan ideological problems, 7) that, when the Islamic world collectively threatens the West with violence and intimidation, it should be held at arms length and weakened as much as possible--diplomatically, economically, and militarily, and 8) that part of this distancing should include reasonable consideration of Islamic ideology when setting immigration policy.
I might have said a few things that I later thought hmm.. maybe I wrote too quickly, without really thinking. Some stories and comments almost lend themselves to immediate responses, but hey when its the truth, it can't be ignored.
We are fighting an enemy that believes in only 1 religion. We are fighting an enemy that wants to see Isreal blown off the map. We are fighting an enemy that wants to destroy any culture that differs from its own. We are fighting an enemy that sets up paramilitary bases on mountainsides to spread the words of a peaceful "religous" ideology. If any Muslim wishes to join (as in become like) the West I have no problem with that. If any wish to come here and get a job and be quiet and unnoticed, I have no problem with that. If you are coming to change us, conquer us, or whine that we don't do things the way your beloved homeland Impoverishedstan does, go home.
I think our governments should offer free airline tickets and $10,000 US (about 7,300 Euros) if they return to wherever and don't return. Why the money? First it may be the only foriegn aid that has actually helped someone who is not a millionaire politician. Second, $10,000 is probably a lot less than it costs to have them stay. Third, if they are not happy here, at least maybe with our help they will be happy somewhere else. New immigrants should be carefully screened to see if they wish to assimilate. They should pay at least some token fee to partially pay for this screening (hardship cases waived on a case by case basis). If they don't wish to assimilate, to integrate, they should be given only visitor, transit or temporary work visas with fixed termination dates or no visa at all. If in the past they have taken the airline ticket and $10,000 they must repay that amount before any visa or residency options are considered.
We are coming to realize the Islamic religion and politics are parasitical in nature and begin to fall apart unless they are conquering and pillaging someone, unless they are living off the wealth, prosperity and hard work of others. We refuse to be part of this.
To be able to cause real change we need to be both well versed on the teachings of the Quran, Hadiths, and other Islamic works and teachings and encourage others to read them also. While it is easy to rant (see the above paragraphs for examples of rants), we need to be able to educate others on what Islam believes concerning itself and others and not just spout illogical, mindless opinions of dubious nature.
I think my second favorite hydrocarbon, caffeine, is begining to kick in.

I think that is giving too much credit. One of the "-lithic" ages would be closer to truth. For all their barbarism, the Middle Ages did have a certain panache.

Good comments on a sad story. Anytime you take a message outside your group, you become a target.
Everyone in any public forum falls into that catagory. Everyone has their supporters and detractors. The reality of right and wrong dont always enter into the equasion. The strong supporters view the supported as almost angelic or saintly even. They dont feel a need to do anything about the supported. The strong detractors view him as a danger, toward whom some form of action needs to be taken. So on one end of this stick, are things like the attack on 'talk radio', 'hate speech', the attack on RS Hugh and JW, as well as others, and on the other end, psychological warfare, word magick comming from everywhere, threats, intimidations, jihad, CAIR, and Jim Sutton on the other. All designed by the insecure to 'shut you up'.
The whole stick belongs to the detractors and they wield it more like a club than a sword. They are trying to beat the opposition down with a big stick.

Libel, slander, lies, deception: all just everyday tools of the soft Jihadis.
1. I am terrorized by all muslims.
2. As long as all muslims believe I must be murdered for not submitting to them, I believe that they have passed judgement on themselves. They cannot deny what is written in their book's rants against infidels; denial is taqquiah, just another tactic of jihad against me. They want me dead.

As a citizen of the only nation that has used nuclear weapons against a brutal enemy that respected no international conventions of warfare and that engaged in inhuman acts against non-combatants, I believe the nuclear option must remain on the table. Mecca, or any other target that will do the same for muslims that Hiroshima and Nagasaki did for the Japanese, is in my cross-hairs. Cease and desist orders from the UN and Nancy Pelosi just don't seem to be getting the job done, preserving our liberties and freedom from fear.
4. We already have "concentration camps" for muslims. They are named Saudi Arabia, Iran, Syria.... "Infidels" speak or practise contrary beliefs in those "camps" at risk of life and limb. There is no assimilation of muslims in the West; it is an invasion against which non-muslims have retreated in their homelands and in their minds. We are living in fear of islam.

I know you are a professional and seemingly good person, but I really feel that you should not have to waste your time apologizing or excusing yourself and, Hugh Fitzgerald or Jihad Watch for unsubstantiated claims by individuals or groups against your character.
It is obvioous that this is having a negative effect on your time as I am seeing it more and more on the site.

NO-ONE had anything to say to this person. We all ignored the post. They tried again to get someone to agree that that was the thing to do...then they were gone. Too weird.
I'm sure that the VAST majority of the JW crowd does not advocate anything of the kind. We are not like the Jihadists, in that we will not call all the members of a certain group "worthy of death", or attempt to exterminate them based on their religion.

The speaker Joshua ben Maryam (Jesus) is Jewish. The author of the book Johan ben Zebadiah (John) is Jewish. The prophets exhorted and sometimes condemned their listeners hoping to make them repent and turn from wickedness, yet they did not condemn their whole race. Neither does this man of Judah. He is speaking to a specific audience, not condemning his own family and race.

If I speak negative about Islam..it is because it is the truth. (It is the most evil religon I have ever known). The terrorist are out to kill us and the so called "peaceful" Muslims...are the silent ones supporting the terrorists. So in my opinion...Muslims do this country NO good. We all know from the past on up to now Islam is pure evil.
