"Islamophobia" is a trumped-up term. "Islamophobia" would not exist at all were there not Muslims all over the world committing acts of violence and justifying them by reference to Islamic teaching. That is the cause of "Islamophobia," 100%. If Muslims want to cure "Islamophobia," they should work to end that violence and reform the elements of Islamic teaching that incite it. Instead, as we see here, they prefer to indulge in finger-pointing.
"Muslim awards coming," by Mark Dunn in the Herald Sun (thanks to Knitted Eyebrows):
A VICTORIAN mosque plans to bestow awards on Australians they believe are Islamophobes -- politicians, community leaders or media identities they categorise as hostile to Muslims. The Brunswick-based Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaah Association has unveiled what it calls its annual "Islamophobia Award for the worst Islamophobes in Australia".
Likely to be near the top on the group's list of nominees is Pauline Hanson, who has come under fire from the mosque and other Muslims for her recent call for a "moratorium on any more Muslims coming into Australia".
Mosque leader Sheik Mohammed Omran, who teaches a fundamentalist minority form of Islam, has previously been questioned about his views on international jihad but he has condemned terrorism in Australia.
The Australian award follows a similar initiative in Britain where the Islamic Human Rights Commission imposed its Annual Islamophobia Awards on politicians including Australian Prime Minister John Howard, then British PM Tony Blair and US President George W. Bush.
Pretty much like a fatwa of death, but couched in language originally used by homosexual activism. Muslim groups should be careful about singling people out for anything.
That would be cooler than winning a Grammy!
I'd be honored to receive such an award! But alas, I do not reside down under...*snif*
Keep close to ya phone Sheik.
Where can I apply?
[Wild jumping up and down with flailing of arms above head]
OOOooo!!!ME!!ME!ME!OOOoooo!!!! I want one, PLEEEASEEEEE!!!!!! What, only for the Aussies?!? No fair!!!! Can't the rest of us get them too?
Shalom,
Theosebes
""Islamophobia" is a trumped-up term."
....sure,lets replace it with Muslimwithabombophobia....
"Islamic Human Rights Commission imposed its Annual Islamophobia Awards on politicians including Australian Prime Minister John Howard, then British PM Tony Blair and US President George W. Bush."
Howard I understand, but Bush and Blair??? So many sarcastic comment to make, so little time...
To the future Australian recipients of the distinctive Islamophobia award; MY HEROES!
"Howard I understand, but Bush and Blair??? So many sarcastic comment to make, so little time..."
My thoughts exactly...if Bush wanted to be any friendlier to Islam, he'd have to convert!
Australia has become a country where professor Israeli's speeches are cancelled, Bigitte Gabriel and Wafa Sultan have to be whisked secretely in and out of the country and Ayaan Hirsi Ali protected 24/7 by 4 instead of 2 bodyguards.
There is phobia, yes, but not Islamophobia. There is the irrational fear not to offend, the irrational fear of being called 'racist' when you object to a mysobynistic 7th century cult, a perverted ideology that wants all of us dead or forcibly converted.
No. No can do. Bring it on!
I hope they have an award here in the US too.
The term islamophobia is really not a good one. When one calls another a racist, they usually mean the racist hates others. A phobia on the other hand is a fear of something. Like Ron Weasley's arachnophobia. I can't be an islamophobe. I am not really afraid of them. I dislike them, well, hate them really.
I am sick of their constant demands and them playing the perpetual victim.
I will never submit, but I think the rest of the world is too PC to stand up to these monsters.
Anyone receiving such an award should be honoured. It's a greater honour than winning the Nobel peace prize, for sure.
Islamic Human Rights Commission
Say what?
These awards are a hate crime given that it is well documented that persons opposing Islam are subject to murder by extremists.
They are targeting people for extremists under the cloak of Islamophobia. If any one of these people named is harmed, these mosques should be held accountable.
I guess I'll just have to settle for a bumpersticker.
"Fatwa Worthy Kafur"
sheikyer'mami - you would have plenty of competition for the Islamophobia Awards, in the Land Down Under.
Cardinal George Pell will win hands-down. (Have you written to him to express support for his critique of the violence of the Qur'an? I did.)
The Sydney Writers' Festival will come a close second, since they invited Ayaan Hirsi Ali, and stuck to their guns: she came and she spoke, to packed-out houses, despite howls of outrage from many Muslims. (I wrote the Festival organisers a note praising them for their chutzpah - you should do likewise).
Stephen Crittendon might get a look-in, since he wrote a favourable review of Spencer's book about Mohammed, while simultaneously dissing Armstrong's and Esposito's sycophantic screeds. (You and I, sheik, should each contact Stephen and express appreciation for his sound judgement).
There are probably many more others at the 'grassroots'.
My best friend, a magnificent Italo-Australian, can never say the word 'Islam' without sounding like she wants to spit. Her opinion of Sheik Catmeat is unprintable (and she a virtuous Christian lady). Islam's oppression of women gets her blood boiling. And believe me, anyone in her social circle will be getting educated on the subject.
Another good friend and fellow-parishioner in my home church, a lawyer, discovered the Muslim habit of barefaced and continual lying, when he was unfortunate enough to have a Muslim client. His opinion of Muslims and Islam is, like my Italian friend's, unprintable. Another parishioner is, like me, praying every Friday for the conversion of Muslims and the defeat of the Jihad.
A sober and devout parish priest in my city is an avid reader of Mr Spencer's books and even had them on display at the State Synod of the Anglican Church. He is doing his best to instruct and warn the current Leader of the Opposition (who is a churchgoing Christian), in whose electorate he resides.
I would certainly qualify: here is a typical sentence from an article called 'On Islam - A Religion of Peace?' that I wrote and printed in our parish magazine: "Anyone looking at Muslim texts, Mohammed, and the history of the Empire of Islam cannot avoid the obvious: as Robert Spencer puts it in "The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam (and the Crusades)" - 'Mohammed was a prophet of war, the Qur'an is a book of war, and Islam is a religion of war'. Everybody who read that article read a citation in full of Surah 9:5 and 9: 29, along with a paragraph on taqiyya and kitman (thank you so much, Robert Spencer, Hugh Fitzgerald and other jihadwatchers!). And I sent a copy of that same article, plus Ellul on jihad and dhimmitude, to my local member of parliament. I also urged him to go talk to some of the Sudanese Christian refugees from Jihad, who have been settled in his electorate.
Perhaps we should counter-attack with the 'Most Outrageous Example of Contempt for Kafir' Awards. Any ideas about who should get one?

All of them? Trad for sure.
Good post as always, dumblesoresarmy!
I want this award!
Great post, dumbledorsarmy. I have seen the scales fall from the eyes of even lefty friends, myself, when it comes to Islam.
I don't think Islam will, or can, make much inroad on the west because of its two-faced nature. Whereas being caught in a lie seems to be of little concern in Arabic culture, in the west it means the virtual death of ones reputation. The same goes for a system as it does a person.
Please put these expressions on your blogs, use them and distribute them. We are using the same kind of vocabulary that Islamists do back against them. Please the spelling used in capitals so search engines find them.
KUFFARPHOBIA (Kafirphobia)
KUFFAR - a pejorative, or insulting, expression used by Muslims to describe a non-Muslim
KUFFARPHOBIA - the irrational fear and loathing of all things non-Islamic and of all non-Muslims.
KUFFARPHOBE - a Muslim person who seeks to establish a worldwide Kalifate (Caliphate) thereby abolishing all non-Islamic culture and beliefs and imposing Sharia law
KALIFASCIST - a person who wishes to establish a worldwide Kalifate by fascistic means. Generally a Muslim, but increasingly also a Western politician who styles him/herself as a "liberal"
"Islamic Human Rights Commission" ???
What would Islam, with its core teaching of world domination and slaughter or subjucation of non-believers, possibly know about "human rights"?
Human Rights, in the accepted sense of respecting an individual's right to believe or disbelieve in anything or nothing at all, is the total opposite to Islam's doctrine of complete submission to their murderous lunacy. I will NEVER submit, I will NEVER bend a knee to that demonised lunatic who proclaimed himself a "prophet of god", this murdering robber and kiddie-fiddler. Big spit!!
I'm looking forward to the awards, should be interesting. Cardinal Pell is a good candidate, so is Fred Nile (moratorium on Moslem immigration), Danny Scott & Danny Nahlia for teaching the truth about Islam, and the perennial Pauline Hanson. Wish there were more.
I'd like to counter this award ceremony with an Australian Dhimmi of the Year Award. My first candidate would be Steve Bracks for removing the right of free speech in Victoria, which resulted in the persecution of the two Dannys above. He belongs alonside the Australian traitors E.G. Whitlam and Malcolm Fraser who brought the blight of mass Moslem migration to this country.
