Pakistan has added its voice to that of Iran in condemning the publication of cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad in newspaper Nerikes Allehanda.The Swedish Chargé d'Affaires in Islamabad was called to the Pakistani Foreign Office on Thursday for a dressing down by a government official. The move comes several days after a Swedish diplomat in Teheran was summoned by the government there to face a similar protest.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Pakistan condemned the publication "in the strongest terms."
"Regrettably, the tendency among some Europeans to mix the freedom of expression with an outright and deliberate insult to 1.3 billion Muslims in the world is on the rise," the statement said.
Insults are part of free expression, pal. If anything that anyone takes as an insult is ruled out of public discourse, hardly anything will be left. (For I myself find your remarks insulting.) And if the freedom to ridicule Islam goes out the window, so does free inquiry into the elements of Islam that jihadists are using to encourage people to wage war against non-Muslims, for doubtless you will find that equally offensive and insulting. Muslims will then become a privileged, protected class, immune from all questioning. And that's what you want, isn't it?
So far, searching on blogs or the internet, I haven't found the photo of Muhammad's head on a dog's body. The following search brings up Swedish results:

The incessant harping by prominent islamic spokesmen on "insulting 1.5 billion muslims" is sounding more and more like the hackneyed lamentations of the beleaguered Palestinians, who have been brutally beseiged by the Israelis for decades. Their "land" has been seized, their livlihoods destroyed, their lives ruined. The poor, pitiful, innocent muslims are perpetual victims of Western aggression. If they only knew how easy it would be to extinguish their malevolent flame forever. If only the West had the guts to do it.
Instead of demanding that non-muslims desist all ridicule, criticism, and expressions of contempt for muslims and islam, perhaps a little introspect is in order to understand why muslims are so despised. Could it possibly be that the non-muslim people of the world, who do happen to overwhelmingly outnumber muslims, are fed up with islamic terrorism, muslim threats, and the putrid islamic culture that has been imported to their countries along with muslims? Is it conceivable that muslims are not the superior, perfect human beings that they perceive themselves to be, and their arrogance, intolerance, and demands for special privileges are contemptible to non-muslims?
Muslims are boorish bullies and meretricious blowhards, inflated with self-importance and chimeric power. As they proceed with their fanciful schemes to outbreed and ultimately conquer the West; their brutal terror attacks to intimidate and subdue infidels; their campaigns of da'wa and jihad in the West, they will find themselves more and more despised, ridiculed, and condemned. If muslim behavior does not change, criticim and ridicule will evolve into something much worse. People will stop picking on islam and muslims when muslims start behaving like civilized, modern citizens instead of medieval barbarians.
Lousy cartoon. One can't even tell it's a dog. Still, I condemn the cartoonist for insulting dogs everywhere.

The iranian mullahs and the paki kleptocracy are so very sensitive when anyone in the West politely suggest they stop killing their Christians, and political opponents. After all, they say, these are internal matters that are none of our business. But now they summon the Chargé d'Affaires over those silly Lars Vilks "rondellhunds". The response should be simple. "This is a Swedish citizen lawfully expressing his views in a free country. So blow your mahometan indignation out your nethers. It is none of your business"
if Muslims in Pakistan and the Middle East have no sense of humor and our cartoons offend them and they demand apologies we should be demanding apologies for their racist anti-Christian anti-Jewish cartoons and TV shows throughout the Middle East otherwise we should tell them to go to hell
