Does anyone know what evidence, besides the Koran itself, there is for Islamic claims that Moses and Jesus taught Islam?

I've studied Christian theology and see no evidence for this. Jewish and Christian theology is narrative and covenantal, whereas the Koran is not a story of redemption but a series of convenient revelations to Mohammad.

Polemics aside, someone from the Islamic community needs to show non-Koranic evidence for this if they are to have any respect.

I've run into Muslims who said that Jesus teachings were changed, however given that Paul's earliest letters contain hymns (Phillipians) which clearly show that Christian followers considered Jesus to be God as a human being, it is odd that Muslims would not consider this evidence.

It may fall back on the radical irrationality of Islamic thought. If the Koran says it is so then it must be so, despite the overwhelming evidence to the contrary. This kind of thinking is laughable at its best and genocidal at its worst.

Sorry, I think you're a little bit off on the Moses-Jesus-Islam connection. I don't seem to recall reading anything about Jesus commanding us to kill or mutilate our neighbors, and that seems to be the primary tenent of Islam.
Perhaps you should actually READ through the New Testament and see what Jesus actually teaches (if you're in a pinch for time, start with the Gospel of John).

My question to Muslim's is which Koran??

When Mohammed died in 632, there was only a collection of his revelatons. Uthman took the Median Codex and canonizied it, throwing out over 150 verses in the process. The problem with this codex was it was missing the consontal
text and vowels. It was not until 935, when Ibn Mujahid put together a definite cononization of one system of consonants and a limit placed on the variations of vowels. Up until that time b's could be t's, th's. The letters f, q, j, h, kh, s, d, r and z were indistinguishable.

Why Mohammed himself stated when questioned concerning the different versions being rendered, that the koran had been revealed in 7 versions.

I'd taken a look at this koran book and can't, for the life of me, find any mention of Jesus; so I thought I'd look under his Hebrew name of Yeshua, again; nothing, so I tried to find reference under his Christian Arabic name of Yasu. Can you believe it... not a mention.

There was this Isa fellow, but he was nothing like Jesus. As far as I can tell Jesus never gets a mention anywhere in the koran. ;-)
