A bomb hidden under a bench in front of a food shop killed one person and wounded 10 others in Thailand's restive Muslim south.The remote-controlled device exploded Saturday, while Buddhist Thais were waiting to give food to monks in the town of Pattani in one of three southernmost provinces where more than 2,500 people have been killed in violence since 2004 police said.
Two civilians were seriously wounded while the shop owner was killed.
The other wounded included monks and soldiers escorting them.
Nobody claims responsibility for the daily gun or bomb attacks in the far south, annexed by predominately Buddhist Thailand a century ago.
Eighty percent of the local population are Muslim, ethnic Malay and do not speak Thai as a first language.
Any bets on who did this? Congregationalists? Zarathustrians? Overzealous Jehovah Witnesses?

From my understanding in the earlier days of Islamic expansion, they had landed there following sea-trading lanes. And did what Mohammed proscribe in those circumstances, conquer and subjugate. Later after the collapse of the Caliphate, the Thais were able to play the British and French Colonial powers against each other to maintain their relative independence, though they did lose some of their holdings. After the collapse of European colonialism, the Thais reassert themselves over the regions they once controlled. Some of this region included the now Muslim dominated southern region that Islamist sailor/ warriors had conquered. And as we know with Israel (Palestine), Spain (Al Andalus), India (Mughal Empire), and on and on. Once apart of the Ummah, always a part of Dar-Al-Islam and only a Najis Kafur would not understand that and the need to resist the encroachment of sacred Islamic lands and the restoration of these lands claimed by Islam to Sharia Law.
Which also happens to be any land that in which a Mohammedan lives and feels the need for it to join the Ummah.

I'm looking for at least two people in every state of the Union who would be willing to purchase a copy of Robert Spencer's Religion of Peace? Why Christianity Is and Islam Isn't and mail it, on an agreed upon date, to one of the senators in your state. I'm organizing an effort to get the book simultaneously to all 100 senators, in order to send a strong message. If we get more than two people per state, books can also be sent to the House of Representatives.

Once we have at least two people from every state, we can agree on a mailing date and then each of us can mail a copy of the book on that date.
Right before each of us mails the book, we can issue a press release to various media outlets in every state, and in that way announce and explain the mailing. And perhaps we can come up with some other ways of maximizing the effectiveness of this project and gaining as much positive attention as possible.
One of the project's volunteers suggested contacting Rep. Sue Myrick, who started the anti-Jihad caucus in Congress. I'll try to coordinate this project with Rep. Myrick to maximize its effectiveness. I've also been calling various congressional offices to get advice on how best to go about this. And I'll soon contact Regnery, Robert Spencer's publisher, to ask their advice and to see if we can coordinate with them in some way.
Off topic a wee bit-
I have come to the conclusion that Nazi propaganda methods (" a barrage of lies, slander, accusations" to silence critics, the careful crafting of a "victim" image responding to aggression, as well as Nazi style big lies ("Islam is a religion of peace"), and Sudetenland style "Cartoon Rage", etc.) used by many Muslims are much more organized and conscious than I had thought. BTW, It is intriguing that there was a "Mickey Mouse"-Farfur in Nazi Germany. The Nazis tried to co opt "Mickey Mouse" and turn him into a demented, genocidal Muslim Farfur.

Nazis stole Disney tricks: Animation techniques used in anti-Jewish propaganda films

COLOGNE -- German film historians searching the archives of the former communist East have uncovered more than 100 Nazi cartoons that used techniques copied from the works of Walt Disney to spread anti-semitism across eastern Europe.
''It was Hitler's dream that Mickey Mouse would help him exterminate the Jews,'' said Ulrich Stoll, 39, a documentary maker who showed extracts on German television.
Hitler had loved cartoons since a summer evening in 1937 when he sat with Joseph Goebbels, his propaganda chief, in his private cinema in the Berlin chancellery, roaring with laughter at Mickey Mouse and Pluto in a film called The Mouse Hunt.
That Christmas, Goebbels sent the Fuhrer 12 Mickey Mouse cartoons as a present.
He soon persuaded Hitler that the Nazis should set up a cartoon industry of their own. The task was entrusted to Karl Neumann, a party member who came to Goebbels's attention after devising Drive to England, a board game in which children could play at defeating the British at sea with submarines and battleships.
Neumann's film company, Deutsche Zeichenfilm GmbH, was founded in 1941, three days after Hitler ordered the German army to invade the Soviet Union. More than 100 cartoonists were recruited from Germany and Austria to work in a studio in Alexanderplatz, in Berlin. Goebbels established further production centres across Nazi-occupied Europe.
Armer Hansi (Poor Hansi), the first film, told the story of a carefree canary oppressed by mean and dangerous blackbirds. The bird had three fingers and white gloves, just like Mickey Mouse, but sported the same lick of hair across his forehead as the Fuhrer. The villainous birds, by contrast, were caricatures of Jews.
It was with trepidation that the film-makers presented their work to Goebbels in 1943. ''We were naturally very nervous as to how the doctor would react,'' said Hans Tischmeyer, 87, who was responsible for characterization. They need not have worried. ''Some of the frames are poor and not so well drawn, but it is a good beginning,'' Goebbels wrote. The 17-minute film, which cost 2m Reichmarks -- a huge sum during the war -- was awarded a German culture prize.
Scores of others followed, all without dialogue. Goebbels wanted the cartoons, destined to be shown in the newly conquered territories of Poland, Czechoslovakia and Ukraine, to be understood by anyone.
The artists imitated Disney's revolutionary animation techniques but stopped short of stealing the characters. ''We studied the Disney films for their dynamics -- how they moved and ran,'' said Gerhard Fieber, 87, the chief cartoonist. ''Therefore, thanks to the Americans, we were able to do in a few months what had taken them 20 years to perfect.''
The films were steeped in anti- semitism. In The Jewish Rhinoceros, the anti-hero stalked the woods, clad in a kaftan and Jewish skull-cap, helping itself to everyone's money before being killed by outraged woodlanders.
In the spring of 1944, as the allies intensified air raids on occupied Europe, Goebbels reluctantly brought production to an abrupt end. The cartoonists were ordered instead to turn out mundane instruction films for conscripts to the increasingly hard-pressed army.
The studio in Prague was the last to make a film. Entitled Honeymoon in the Coral Sea, it told the love story of two small fish that were chased and harried by a giant Jewish octopus. ''We freely worked for the Germans,'' said Jiri Sebestik, 78, one of the Czech cartoonists. ''It meant that we stayed in Prague and were not deported to the labour camps.''
Those involved with the films appear to have few regrets today about their work. ''They were just fairy tales,'' said Mr. Tischmeyer.
At least one cartoonist, Hans Fischer Kosen, whose company made three films for Goebbels, was jailed by the allies after the war, however. He was released after two years in detention without being charged with any Nazi crime. Most of the film-makers went into advertising or other commercial work in the fledgling television industry.

I'm putting my money on fundamentalist Quakers. They claim to be peaceable people, but I know all that "Inner Light" stuff is really just code for "detonator."
Final word re this-
I mention this (again) because I think there is definitely a well organized propaganda element to Jihad and it is in the pattern of the Nazi era propaganda of Joseph Goebbels. The similarities are remarkable.
It appears most of Jihad propaganda (from Flying Imams to International) is freelance, done by various factions without coordination. However, some propaganda-jihad appears to have a great deal of sophistication in organization and execution (probably including paid "demonstrators", paid agents in "set-ups", as well as people on the payroll at the wire services) during the "lies, slander, accusation" campaigns. I would not be terribly surprised that the Psychotic-In-Iran has some kind of sub rosa "Ministry of Propaganda". The same is probably true for Saudi Arabia and AL qaeda. My hunch is that there are several sophisticated and well organized Nazi style propaganda machines (with extensive payrolls) in the Muslim world that are peddling everything from Farfur to mass murder. "War is deception" and propaganda is deception.
A lot more attention has to be given to the propaganda side of Jihad. It's there and my hunch is that it's a lot more sophisticated and organized than folks might imagine.
