Hayley, 23, said Mrs Green — deputy head of Newlands Primary School in Wakefield, West Yorks — had acknowledged it was a “sensitive issue” because three of the 7/7 suicide bombers came from Leeds, 15 miles away.
Yeah, you might say that.
Such stories are coming more and more often, but so, it seems, are the objections to what's going on. I suppose that's an encouraging sign. British people (and I do count secular Muslims among them, of whom I've met a bunch) aren't all content to commit cultural suicide.

Something of that nature....just to whet the appetite. A withholding from the graberment coffers of tax revenue. Maybe a massive boycott of the BBC. Little things. I fear that the west likes the warming water it's in, and doesn't wish to be roused, otherwise, we'd have to jump out of the pot, dry off, put the big boy pants on and get to work on the problem. Imagine for one second this had been a class of moslem children who had written something from the Bible, we would by now have calls for the teacher to be sacked from the usual suspects.
It would be a fair bet that the teacher would be suspended pending a review, a mass rally would follow similar to that over the Mo cartoons, oh and politicians would be falling over themselves promising that this would never happen again and that normal dhimmi status would be resumed.
Later the teacher would be moved - for their own safety and be made to issue an apology - and odds on would still end up losing their job.
Mind you when its the other way around, well no protests, no howls from the rent a mob. The whole thing can be written off as "enabling understanding of other faiths" or some other pc leftist newspeak.

I'd have no problem with it if it also went the other way around--Muslim children being made to learn about Christianity. As it is, though, it definitely looks as if Britain is preferring Islam over its own faith, and it's sickening (for the record, I am agnostic, but not so hostile to religion as to believe that a country's key principles weren't founded on it. And yes, I am a liberal. Go on, bash away. I'm used to it). By the way, was it Robert who suggested a while ago that Prince Charles may be a secret convert to Islam? I do not know about the UK but in Australia most public school teachers are devout labor party supporters and hence leftists. Their union is one of the strongest in Australia and this is why the level of incompetence allowed is so high. There are good teachers but most migrate to the private schools.

The Koran certainly is not a "normal story book", as one reading will show.
Why not use samples of pre-Koranic poetry -in Arabic -that are apparently literary models for later "original" Koran verses?
That way we would teach the language (if that's the point) and teach about its internal contradictions.

I'd like to thank Ms. Green for her kindly and timely reminder that I still had a couple of books left to order for our upcoming school year. It's always good to get the occasional reminder of why we homeschool.
Second, I'd like to offer Ms. Green some suggestions for future handwriting assignments. The Koran has lots of helpful verses on how to treat infidels, female slaves, disobedient wives, etc. that would make an interesting addition to any penmanship/Islamic indoctrination class. Since she has "forced" her 10-year-old students to publically affirm the superiority of Islam over all other belief systems, she might as well get the kiddies started on learning the finer points of their new faith.
Some parent should take a page from the ACLU's persecution of Christianity and file a lawsuit.
The answer isnt homeschooling, which I fully support. Homeschooling will protect your kid but wont protect every kid. Only way to keep your kids from being brainwashed is banning Islam.

The US-based demonstration is to be held in Washington, DC and involves a coordination of about 20 other groups, including Vets for Freedom and Gathering of Eagles.
...so I wouldn't be surprised at who attends. The Gathering of Eagles 'Protect the Memorials' from the Anti-War protestors on March 17th was double or triple the numbers of ANSWER, et al.
If you can't find information, I recommend keeping an eye on Gathering of Eagles, Vigilant Freedom, or Gates of Vienna.
Baron Bodissey of Gates got me in touch with Vigilant Freedom to help out ahead of time, so I believe any of those site would work for you.

This woman had these children write down 1/2 of the shahada. If she had merely added "and Muhammad is his messenger" - she would have essentially had these innocent schoolchildren convert to Islam, with a death penalty on their heads for apostasy once they realized what they had done.
If I were a parent, I would consider threatening to sue the teacher or the school if such action is repeated in the future, on grounds of something like "reckless endangerment", which in the US at least means:

Homeschooling is only half about "preventing" kids from having to absorb the bad, ugly, and absurd. (See the above article for Exhibit A.) The other half of homeschooling involves replacing all the feel-good, trendy, self esteem-raising propaganda, er, course work, with substance. Like many other homeschooling parents, I have come to the conclusion that the educational system cheated me. My oldest is 12, so I'll be spending the next few years learning the things I *should* have learned in high school. For example, this year he (and I) will be studying formal logic (which I never had), the history of the ancient world (which I never had) and classics of ancient literature (about 1/2 of which I've never read). And this is for a kid whose primary talents are in mathematics and science.
Ah, one of the pleasures of homeschooling is that it offers the parents a second chance at an education!
