Ahmadinejad changes mind about "Great Satan" filmmaker

"All the details have to be agreed with my advisors." In other words, as long as Oliver Stone can serve up some free propaganda, the Thug-in-Chief can overlook the whole "Great Satan" thing.

An update on this story. "Iranian president agrees to Oliver Stone film about his life," from RIA Novosti:

TEHRAN, August 29 (RIA Novosti) - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has agreed to let Oscar-winning U.S. film director Oliver Stone make a documentary film about his life.
Ahmadinejad told journalists: "In principle I have no objections to featuring in such a film, but all the details have to be agreed with my advisors."
Stone first made the offer about one year ago. The president had previously refused to allow filming to go ahead, saying the director was part of the "Great Satan," a term used in Iran to describe the U.S. since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, when the despotic U.S.-backed Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi was overthrown.
Iranian authorities have in the past accused Hollywood of distorting the country's history and international image.

I think the movie industry has gone over to the bad place! Are these guys out of their minds?

There are some 6+ films coming out about Iraq and now this is moving forward; this is insane.

Their minds have walked off the map.

I heard back in WW 2, Hollywood was an ally in the war. Sadly no more.

I agree, it's disgusting to me that this attitude has taken such roots in our nation. While I can appreciate discussion about the war itself, the strategy and such, I cannot appreciate those that seek it's demise and failure as a victory for their oppositional point of view to have success.

Wanting or encouraging the United States to lose in Iraq is one of the most disturbing points of view regarding the lack of humanity revealed by those who wish it.

I'm not ashamed to be an American, but I'm ashamed that these people are calling themselves Americans.

Usually, a story has a beginning, a middle and an end. Surely a director must appreciate that. It pains me to think that Stone wants to make a bio of a man whose life's story has yet to be played out and whose most significant and dramatic part of that story is in the next act. Why can't he wait until his life is completed before he tells the story?

The only answer to that rhetorical question must be that Stone wishes to be apart of his life, to promote him in real time, to influence politics here in the US.

That is not a biographer. That is a propagandist. Does a sportswriter publish a piece about the game - in the 7th inning? Only if he has a vested interest in influencing the fans.

Tokyo Rose.
Lord Haw Haw.
Oliver Stone.

Dealing with the Iranians is a Federal Offense.

What shall be done with those that do blantant prapaganda form them?

I am the ghost of Leni Riefenstahl. I've come with a warning for Oliver Stone...

Outright TREASON, giving aid and comfort to the enemy, but then again, that goes for 99% of the libs in America

Oliver Stone is not just a useful idiot, like many on the left he is a willful idiot.

Disgraceful.

I can't wait to find out who the financial producers of this film are. Stone is no stranger to propaganda and conspiracy theory. See "Platoon" and "JFK" respectively.

It will be most interesting to see who he can witewash the whole "Death to the great Satan of the West" in the US, and "Israel will be wiped off the map" sentiments that Mahmoud puts forth on a regular basis.

Sadly, people like Stone would be powerless except for the fact of support by others. If I recall correctly, Hitler started out as a lone angry lunatic preaching in the beer gardens of Germany, then, with the acquisition of support for him, became the angry lunatic preaching from the perch of the German Chancellory.

ahamidiotjihad can keep oliver stone we don't need him. that will be one less leftists brown noser of all dictators, thugs, crackpots.

I'd pay to see a movie marathon about dung beetles before I'd patronize a paen to a psychopathic terrorist.

Stone's "Alexander" flopperoo lost him mucho money.

He must be hallucinating to imagine that this opus will refloat him.

Worst of luck, Oliver.

Why not a film about Thomas Paine instead of Hitler, Jr.?

Oh boy! I can hardly wait to see how Ollie Stoned is going to make Ahmadinejihad into a hero....a hero all lefties can admire much like Che'.

"Iranian Authorities have in the past accused Hollywood pf distorting the Countrys History and International image."

Like anything has changed? Oliver(re-write History) Stone.

Lets aee here. I bet the Movie starts with Bush having a merry ol' good time while Ineedajob is cooking Breakfast for his Guests in OUR Embasy.

Oliver Stone can be the monkeyman's jailhouse wife.

Hollywood is going to have to find its way to the right path very soon, or it will be boycotted by the public. No attendance, no money.

Ahmad and his Gumby-like convictions. He'll bend them any way he chooses just as long as doing so serves his interests -- or if doing so puts him closer to his victim before inserting the knife.

Brian DePalma is crafting a film about the Iraqi family murdered and their daughter raped by a US soldier.

Another one to miss. I wish I understood more about the incident, but I do get this: his stated message is to get us out of this war.

And for those who want out, fine. But the fact that we leave won't mean it's over. I predict that when we do leave, hoardes of muslims will be allowed to emigrate to the US, just the way we let in the Hezbos and the albanian kosovars and bosnians.

Why are we so stupid?

Iranian Authorities have in the past accused Hollywood pf distorting the Countrys History and International image."
sounds to me more like Hollywood actually told the truth about Iran and Iranians or rather the Iranian government cannot stand the light of day showing just how bad the countries international image and recent history is

How many people will flock to a movie about a sitting Iranian president? That is about as obscure a topic for a Hollywood film as, say, a sitting Bolivian president. Not a big money maker.

Bios usually don't do well, even bios of famous people. Bios only have a chance if there is lots of violence and bloodshed, or really good music. Hitler, the man, the myth, the madness, that might sell. But since the Left paints him in just the opposite light, this movie will appeal only to the coffee house crowd in Greenwich Villiage, who, by definition, are always interested in a nuanced take on current despots and international figures the names of whom are unfamiliar to the average movie goer.

And if Stone titles the movie, Ahmadinejad, no one will go because they can't pronounce it:

"Hi, ah, two adults for ah, ama, din, din, ahma, .... oh, damn, just give us two tickets for Rocky VIII."

Let idiot-boy dig his own grave. Though, his depiction of combat in Vietnam was real and visceral, surely, he can't take this project on. No one is that big of an idiot!

Oh sorry, this is Hollywood. Ignorance does reign.

Ahmahjihad sitting on a toadstool,
unaware that he's a fool,
trips on his own feet
knowing not his own defeat,
isn't really cool.

That sucks.

Anyway, I'll try again for something better.

Too much ale.

Happy Labor Day!!!!!!

Has the word treason gone out of use.

The title could be "Springtime for Imaminijihad".

You know, this could be a secret black opps ploy by the CIA to get close to "Ima" to learn all they can, or, or, it could be Ollie will off the little Hitler with some lethal drink or nose spray, or,or,or, some secret DNA switcheroo shot that will make him a mushy teddy bear, or,or--

Naaaaay!!

Seriously--We probably shouldnt mess with the little monkey-boy nutjob or the Mahdi, the 12th I-Mamie, will come up out of his well and pee in our Cheerios. LOL

oliver stone will glorify that iranian thug.

I bet it'll be in the contract that Dinner Jacket gets to buy a whole new wardrobe of designer clothes on the film company's dime.
