"Islam is emerging as the cultural and economic Superpower of the 21st Century"

page0_1.jpg

Steven R. Watts is "a global management consultant and a Research Fellow and Intercultural Studies Ph.D. candidate at Fuller Theological Seminary." He is "currently creating risk mitigation strategies for multicultural corporations operating in developing countries. These strategies focus on non-traditional, innovative approaches to sustainable economic development, eradication of poverty and reduction of risk to business continuity in some of the most challenging regions of the world. He is also an invited speaker to universities and business organizations."

His non-traditional, innovative approach at this website, "Welcome to the 21st century" (thanks to Hal), appears to revolve around the emergence of a new dominant world superpower, the "Islamic Union."

Take a look around the website. Look at every page. While those who know how Sharia institutionalizes the oppression of women and non-Muslims may recoil at this prospect, Watts is certainly being a realist given the world situation and the abysmal failure of the West so far to respond to the full reality of the Islamic supremacist challenge in all its dimensions.

I am not saying that the emergence of this superpower is inevitable, or that anyone should ever give up as long as life and breath remain. But while those who are concerned about human rights may not want to see this happen, given the world situation as it stands today can Watts reasonably be faulted for thinking that it will happen, and that the best we can do is try to ride the wave and adapt to the new world order?

All I can say is oh my goodness this is not good...

"can Watts reasonably be faulted for thinking that it will happen, and that the best we can do is try to ride the wave and adapt to the new world order?"

HELL NO!!!

I will not submit.

From the Islam 21st century superpower website:
"GlobalISLAMICization however is fundamentally different from this hybrid cousin of capitalist economics and the global marketplace. The differentiator of the Islamic brand of globalization is the theological concept and teaching of stewardship. As has been discussed before, a resource management model of stewardship first and profits second is the only way to permanently remove the real and cruel barriers to the global marketplace and provide equal opportunity for all people everywhere to participate in the trade of goods and services."

Is this the model that the Taliban were trying to implement in Afghanistan? Is this what Al Sadr is working toward in Iraq?

This is a nicely organized website with pretty colors, but I'm having a hard time connecting any of the theories with current realities.

I don't consider myself educated about Islam or world events or global politics or history, so can anyone point me to anywhere in the world where Islamic governed or heavily influenced economies currently exist which show greater strength than western capitalist systems? Stewardship is not a foreign concept at all in the capitalist system, but most certainly is not everywhere evidenced in practice.

Based on what I see now, I can only conclude that if Islam is to dominate the world it will be through intimidation and force.

There is too much hate in Islam to have the cooperation it takes to build an “Islamic Union”.

Use the website and go to the contact page and tell this worthless dhimmi what you think. I did. Basically I told him he is full of shit because the west may stumble and fall, but it ain't going back to the seventh century, at least not during my lifetime.

War will come long befor this happens.

As good a reason to cut off all ecomonic aid as there ever will be. Let them build their Empire without sub-contracting the work for the Infidel to do

If you think America is alone now with the Conflict with Islam. The Future is considerably worse.

It all reads like a Surrender Document.

"Cultural" superpower?

What culture? What art? What science? What literature? What philosophy? What political thought? What anything?

"Economic" superpower?

Inshallah-fatalism explains the failure of Muslim states to create modern economies, despite having received, since 1973 alone, some ten trillion dollars -- the largest transfer of wealth in human history.

Furthermore, Islam encourages despotism, and despotism only infrequently leads, under modern conditions, to economic development. Despots in the Muslim world have done two things. First, in the oil-and-gas rich lands, they have simply arrogated to themselves large amounts of the national wealth -- see the Al-Saud, Al-Thani, Al-Sabah, Al-Khalifa. Where there is wealth of other kinds, they take a big share of that -- see the Al-Maktoum of Dubai. And when property rights are subject to the whim of a despot, one is less likely to work to acquire such property, or even to make plans far into the future. See how Khaddafy, the Assads, Saddam Hussein treated their political enemies.

If that "cultural" and "economic" superpower is to be created, it will be because Muslims will, through inexorable demographic conquest, much of Western Europe. But will they? They may, if the European elites continue to pretend that nothing is wrong, or if it is wrong, something that does not disrupt the mixture as before, that accepts all the cliches of the age, will be able to fix things. Oh no they won't.

Only those prepared to take perfectly rational and sensible measures -- rational and sensible, that is, to any educated European making policy in 1946, or 1926, or 1826, or 1666 -- to protec their legal and political institutions, their encouragement of free and skeptical inquiry, their means of artistic expression, their solicitude for the rights of the individual -- and prepared not in some distant future but starting now, are likely to preserve enough of what they have, to avoid major catastrophes in four, or three, or two, or one decade hence. The ideology is clear. It is not that of "Al Qaeda" alone. The division of the world between Believer and Infidel, and the duty to conduct or support Jihad, and the many and varied instruments of Jihad -- the Money Weapon, Da'wa, demographic conquest -- that go far beyond those dreamed or schemed of in the limited minds of the bushes and rices and cheneys and cheerleading kagans and kristols, who are preventing, and not aiding as they complacently and myopically appear to believe, the creation of a policy designed never to allow Islam, triumphalist Islam, a victory, but also one that will whenever and wherever possible exploit the pre-existing fissures -- ethnic, sectarian, and economic -- within the Camp of Islam.

Finally, while the richard-reids and john-walker-lindhs and yvonne-ridleys, the slightly or more than slightly-off psychically marginal will continue to embrace Islam, as will some of the economically marginal until a counter-Da'wa campaign is launched in prisons and immigrant communities, while in the meantime, all the most advanced, most intelligent and morally aware people born into Islam -- such as Ayaan Hirsi Ali and Wafa Sultan and Ali Sina and Ibn Warraq -- will continue to desert the Army of Islam, and join the Army of the Infidels.

If enough Infidels come to their senses in time, this is a perfectly manageable problem. And it would involve nothing like the folly and waste of the Iraq venture. Just those two things. Enough. And in time.

This new Islamic Superpower will possess the ability to effectively fight poverty and corruption where the Western powers have failed.

Obviously he has never traveled in the islamic world. The map he shows of all those islamic parts of the world could very well be entitled, "Corruption on Planet Earth" This guy couldn't be more in la-la land. Secondly, islam has no economic base. Only a few islamic countries have wealth, and that wealth is derived only from oil, oil which has peaked. So where is this superwealth to be found in the islamic world in this new century?

Wealth is created by manufacturing and exporting. Islamic nations manufacture nothing. They do not manufacture, they do not design, they have little natural resources, virtually no educational institutions, and no property rights. They have no stable governments and no respect for intellectual property - all things fundamental for the creation of wealth independent of the West. They have not one element required for the production of wealth. They have labor, indeed, but even that is of a sub-standard variety. Muslims are not industrious by nature. They are shopkeepers. They enjoy selling, but have no interest or aptitude to create. On a macro scale we see this. The oil rich nations have not used their oil income to create wealth. They use that money to plate their toilets in gold rather than launch themselves to the moon. They have money, but no wealth.

The leaders of Dubai are capable, not visionary. They are playing a winning poker hand dealt to them by their oil reserves. If you build a tax-free business center, and have it compete with a place like the US where half of a business’ proceeds go to a bloated and stifling government bureaucracy, they will come. My guess is that there is no EEOC or OSHA in Dubai and if a wage-slave gets crushed in a machine, his family isn’t awarded a hundred million dollars.

Dubai is mocking our system economically like Ahmedinejad is mocking our system politically.

But Dubai has to deal with the fact that those with the shiny metal cars will be viewed as Infidels by Islamic fundamentalists. Combine this reality with modern weaponry and the self-purifying nature of Islam, and we may have some twists and turns along the road to the Islamic Union. Abu Dhabi, we have a problem.

Central America is a much smarter move for a business looking to set up overseas. Small government, pro-growth, low taxes, people with a work ethic, and Catholic.

Some people are cruisin' for a bruisin' while others cruise for clients. Steven V. Watts, "management consultant," is undoubtedly in the second category. If Dubai, his "model" of economic development and "stewardship" (a word that sounds good, except it has nothing whatever to do with the practices of the rich Arab states, and certainly not with Dubai, looking like a Las Vegas on stilts -- and making the original seem almost in modest taste by comparison).

Dubai, of course, is where the Iranians have poured in hundreds of billions of dollars. And in any future Sunni-Shi'a clash, or even a clash with Shi'a Iran on the part of Infidels, one way to get at the Shi'a financial power would be to hit Dubai. We'll see how Dubai pans out as an investment, after another decade of hideous "stewardship" and non-stop sky-high growth, that some, including Steven V. Watts, "management consultant," apparently find terrifically impressive.

Meanwhile, I assume those clients are beating down the doors, and Steven V. Watts, "a global management consultant and a Research Fellow and Intercultural Studies Ph.D. candidate at Fuller Theological Seminary." will have no trouble making his tuition payments. But why should Steven V. Watts even stay to pick up his degree? What's the point? There's big money to be made once you take your show on the road, especially to Dubai, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, the Emirates, and of course, Saudi Arabia.

Go to it. There's money to be made.

A lot of money is being invested in Islamic centers , The wet has been abandon financially by the managers.

Superpower? Hardly.

Destructive, murderous, unrelenting, deceitful, ... Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes.

His theory has several problems. One he discounts military might. You can make all the money on earth but that does not mean you can protect it. The way you protect it is through a strong educational system that produces scientist and engineers that can produce the next generation technologies that can be put forth on the battlefield. Only a very few Muslim countries can produce their own weapons and the ones who do get significant help from the west. Most Muslim nations lack the industrial ability or for that matter are even industrialized.

The danger the Islamic world presents to the west is immigration and stealing present technologies to advance their cause. This could undercut and perhaps cause the west to fall but that does not mean that the Islamic world will inherit world from the chaos that follows. Remember the world also has Russia and China in it. They will be more likely to inherit the top mantle before any Islamic nation or union or superpower could. They are not inhibited by multiculturalism. The will simply use military might to crush the madmen to the south.

In the end the greatest danger to Islam is Islam itself. Its religious restrictions will prevent any population from reaching its potential. That does no mean we should not be worried. Like any civilization spinning out of control it can take out many people and yes many civilizations before they themselves are destroyed. Unless the West gets its act together it could be one of those civilizations that falls.

The resulting civilizations will no doubt be a militant Islamic European one and a militant fascist non-Muslim European one. Neither place will be a wonderland of freedom. Thus the goal is to prevent that “What If” before it happens. Stop Muslim immigration and develop a policy of energy and economic independence from the Islamic world. This should bring about a victory. As long as we keep the Islamic genie in it box we are destined to win. If we don’t and allow it to run around the world and gain cash then the West can still lose.

Two types of ideologues in the west are preventing victory. One is the politically correct multiculturalists liberal and the other is the Wall Street free-trade one world types who tend to be conservative. It is ok to have some cultural diversity when the cultures are close enough to co-exist together under the same laws. In other words Mexican immigrants could co-exist under western laws because by definition they are still part of the west. This is not the case for the Islamic world which must control all aspects of life. Thus violence will be the outcome to having large populations of Muslims living next to non-Muslims. The free trade folks think that western glitz, democracy and capitalism will cure all that troubles the Islamic world but I think are very naive. Many thought that slavery would simply die out in the old American South too but they did not realize how institutionalized the system had become. Islam is even worse because unlike slavery in the American south it is religious. It is the word of god to these people. It is going to take more then a few fancy malls and some cash to change that. I also find it sick that many of these one world economic types overlook the suffering of minority groups or women in the Islamic world. Just look at how some of these American businessmen conduct themselves in Islamic nations. It is almost as if they like the idea of having women as slaves or being treated like kings.

Until both of these views are put to bed in relation to the Islamic world we will never have an end to Muslim immigration or to economic and energy independence from the Islamic world.

The graphic above shows the Islamic Union of 2010. Here is the Islamic Union in 2050:

http://www.islam21stcenturysuperpower.com/page2/page2.html

including Australia, Canada, China, the EU, India and Russia.

Creepy as hell. With respect to the EU, even believable. What happens when the tremendous GNP of the EU gets subsumed into the dar al-Islam?

Pray!

This can only happen with the compliance of American politicians.

We are truly looking at several enemies. Only some of them are moslem.

lol @ topic

Not...gonna...happen!
LOL

"With respect to the EU, even believable. What happens when the tremendous GNP of the EU gets subsumed into the dar al-Islam?"

I don't think this can happen. The GNP will not be subsumed, it will be destroyed, along with everything else un-Islamic.

The West will continue to bleed until the money runs out.

Here’s what American adults do during the day:

Manufacturing work: 6%
Service work: 38%
Looking for work: 4%
Not working: over half

Democracies are transient things as the electorate sooner or later learns how to vote itself access to the Treasury. Hillary will probably win with this give away $5000 per kid plan. Who’s going to out-vote her, the 10% of Americans who are pulling the financial wagon? If we have a 2012 election, it will be the give away $10,000 per kid plan.

When the checks stop showing up, and this thing called hunger returns, it will be a new day. See The Grapes of Wrath for a datapoint. That was only seventy years ago.

The strong executive who comes to power, be he civilian or military, will inherit a Country with a big, powerful military and a big, troublesome oil shortage. In days of old, militaries were used to seize resources. There’s been nothing new under the sun since Adam.

Surak

That map is fantasy land. For example how the hell is this Islamic Superpower going swallow China? Last time I looked the Chinese were shipping muslims off to re-education camps in the "restive" muslim regions of China.

I am sure it makes his muslim backers (as Hugh states above) happy however. The porn industry makes money each day with fantasy for men without a chance in hell of landing this or that babe. This is sort of porn for Islamic dreamers. Look we can land China!

Oh brother...

Yeah, again I post "we have seen the enemy and he is us".

I would want to learn much more of Mr. Watts's and Fullers world view before lending too much credence to his view.

Other posters have touched on a number of thoughts I have. My perspective would be, as always, on Biblical prophecy and America's absence therein. It does give an obscure reference to the 'young lions' which some say that means the USA.

If the USA is not mentioned directly in relation to endtime events; the speculation then suggests that some how we have been eliminated as a 'superpower'. Judging the economic hit we took as a result of 9/11, that looks somewhat plausible. A sneak nuke attack on a significant number of our troops and equipment along with our financial centers would do it, I suppose.

HOWEVER, Dont worry, be happy! If we go by Bible prophecy, it all works out in the end.

That is----If you know Him and He resides inside.

On their 21st Century website they have a drawing of a building that they want to erect under the 21st Century Cities category. The building is to suppose to be 160 stories tall -- 50 stories taller than the Twin Towers. Of course they have to build something bigger and taller because it's all about SIZE in Islam -- at any cost.

The website reads more like a fairy-tale that rivals Walt Disney World.

From 21st Century:
This Theology Economy is focused on achieving the objectives of a global Islamic community centered on staying true to the theological teachings of stewardship found in the Qur’an. One of the primary motivators for Mohammed was a desire to fight the poverty and corruption that was affecting the people of his day in Arabia. The result of his search for answers was the Qur’an, which very clearly states the requirement for mankind to be khalifas, or stewards of God's creation.11

So Mohammad was a humanitarian after all, concerned about poverty and corruption...he must have been a liberal...Is there any evidence that 'Theological economy', was anything more than self serving thievery by Mohammad and the following Caliphs, sanctioned by Allah? And Mohammad got answers from the Quran??? He should have, after all, he put them in there. And what does the word 'stewardship' mean to a muslim? Not what the writer thinks I bet. Mohammads concerns and the Qurans answers have been there for 1400 years. How long does it take for Islam to turn into an economic superpower. In spite of all that oil money, most muslims are dirt poor. Without that oil money all of them would be dirt poor. I think this is an attempt to turn a sows ear into a silk purse. And ironically, if the Theological economy worked and Islam became an economic superpower, they have become what they hate. Now they are worshiping money instead of Allah, a fall from grace. Apostates every one of them...

Nice marketing to a target audience-BUT not necessarily reality based. I wouldn't get too worked up about one webpage that is designed to attract a specific clientele.

The extremists of Islam are impatient for power...they're going to push it too far, too soon. The number of Americans who view Islam as a problem has gone up by about another 12 percentage points to approximately 60%. I expect that to continue to increase.

**Pride goeth before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall**.

How can we ever compete with that cultural and economic juggernaut that is the Islamic world? They are like Titans striding across the Earth with their scientific discoveries, music, art, literature, and philosophy. Did I mention they invented the zero? And their olive, oil, and foreign-aid based economy? I say we give up now.

The internal irrationality of Islam is its ultimate doom.

More power means that it will only spin out of control that much faster and that much more violently.

Get ready to watch centrifugal force meeting implacable insanity.

Nothing like this diseased dream of an "Islamic Union" will ever appear.

"The inherent instability of evil" as philosopher A.N. Whitehead called it, will topple the attempt.

And the schism of Sunnis and Shi'ites guarantees it will be that much more off-balance as it wobbles toward oblivion.

They will be a superpower as long as they have oil. They manufacture nothing, and their only export is oil and Islam. When the oil runs out; the revenues go away, and what will they fall back on, Islam? How will they feed the masses of hungry Muslims? Do the Saudis have enough desalination plants to irrigate land to feed themselves? We know what the Pali's did to the greenhouses. Where is the infrastructure to grow food, make autos, electronics, medical supplies, and anything else anybody would want other than oil? What have the Saudis invested in besides madrassas, limos, US real estate, news outlets, and hookers for vacationing sheikhs? Hells bells, the Arab oil producers do not have an armaments manufacturing capability.

I for one do not have much faith in media investments, I prefer companies that actually make something. When people are struggling to make life survivable, they won't be buying too many DVDs. The only reason Saudis are investing in media companies is so that hopefully they can control the information.

Furthermore, the eventual conflagration between us and them will most likely end this budding superpower before it blossoms.

Economically the west is at a disadvantage, sooner or later the oil producers will have leverage to cause severe economic problems whenever they feel like it. That is another aspect that might lead to war.

The prosperity of any country that exports only one commodity is only temporary, no matter how valuable that comodity may be at the moment.

When the oil does start running out, we will all be in deep dodo anyway. Islam will not matter.

It's an ad for Dubai (and for the marketing services that Watts can provide Dubai), and an absurd one.

Hugh reliably made all the points one counts on him to make: in short, Islam may come to dominate by virtue of demographics and immigration. But it will not do so as a light unto the nations. (A purveyor of responsible stewardship?! Good God, man, pick your head up out of that Tony-Montana-sized pile of blow!) It will do so as the Visigoths came to dominate Rome, with savagery, and a progressive unwinding of infrastructure and cultural achievement.

But that said, if Dubai's sheik's can convince the muslim world to embrace their nominal and selective form of Islam, then Allahspeed to them.

75-yr-old hounds child bride in Malda

MALDA: A 14-year-old girl has become a social outcast in her village here for refusing to stay with her 75-year-old husband, who she was forcibly married to. She and her brother, who helped her escape, are being hounded by their parents and the ‘husband’.

Anaras Khatoon had filed a police complaint against parents Syed Ali and Latefun Biwi, saying that on September 26 they “woke her up at night, put a knife to her throat and married her off to a man five times older”. Her parents had to surrender in a Malda court, but got bail the same day. Then, Anaras’ nightmare worsened.

Her parents filed counter cases against her and her brother Majedur Rahman, and drove away Majedur’s wife from home. Anaras’ ‘husband’ Chand Mohammed also moved court, accusing Majedur of kidnapping her.

Now, the brother and sister are living in fear. Majedur, who has started driving a rickshaw to make ends meet, cannot afford a lawyer. And local CPM leaders — from district secretary Jiban Maitra to minister for minority welfare Abdus Sattar — have washed their hands of the matter, saying it’s a “social problem” and can be solved only by “social awakening”.

Speaking to TOI from her temporary shelter, a shabby hut on the outskirts of English Bazar, Anaras said: “I want to study and, of course, return to my home. But no one is helping me. What shall I do?”

Anaras was horrified when she learnt she was being married off to a man whose youngest child was older than her. Anaras’ father is a labourer under Chand and villagers say he took a “hefty sum” from him for the marriage. The nikah was performed by Qaji Hossain as per Muslim rituals.

The very next day, Anaras escaped Chand’s house. She went straight to a police station and lodged a complaint that her parents had kidnapped her and married her off forcibly. After a dilly-dally of a few days, Malda SP D K Mondal initiated a case against Anaras’ father, Chand and a few others, including the qazi. Then, the tide turned against her.

Hounded by her parents, she and Majedur fled their home. A few friends — Rabiul Islam, Sk Mustafa, Sk Duku, Sk Ludu and Sk Sirajul — who supported her have also been accused of abduction by Anaras’ parents.

This can only happen with the compliance of American politicians.

We are truly looking at several enemies. Only some of them are moslem.

Posted by: infidel!

Only some of them are Muslim, but many of them are us. You say this can only happen if our politicians let it. They can let it only if we let them! Get rid of them. Vote them out if they insist that islamization (disguised as globalization) is the only way to prove we are good people.

As I recall, perhaps incorrectly, Dubai is investing in tourism of all things. Resorts in the Muslim sunshine state. Tourism in Islamdom, bah, humbug.

They are building resorts and spas? Casinos? Casinos??? Let them pay us to build resorts that in 20 years no westerner would dare visit, resorts and spas that the Islamic die-hards will blow up a week after the grand openings.

"The most powerful and compelling distinction of this superpower is that for the first time in the history of the world, a global superpower will not be constrained by nationalistic motives or geographic limitations of artificial borders."

Not the first time. Didn't the 1918 flu become a global superpower that took over the world?

"the sheer demographic growth of Islam will overtake every Christian nation by 2050, with the exception of most South American countries and the United States."

Duly warned.

"If an Islamic currency were to replace the CFA … and support an Arab-African-Asian Free Trade Zone (AAAFTZ), then the leaders in countries such as Chad could begin to build sustainable economic solutions with associated models of social justice and equal opportunity for all its citizens, Muslims and non-Muslim alike. "

Why does this require a new currency? Who has stopped leaders in Muslim countries from building equitable societies?

"The differentiator of the Islamic brand of globalization is the theological concept and teaching of stewardship."

How does this differ from Communism - another concept of globalization based on a theology of common ownership?

"This is the beginning of an Islamic Renaissance. A renaissance equal to if not greater than the one the Western/Christian world underwent centuries ago."

How do you have a renaissance when people aren't allowed even freedom of thought? When it's believed their lives are controlled by a god who has chosen their destinies for them, then how do they grow? How does knowledge flower when the religion says that all that is meant to be known has already been revealed?

This man kept focusing on the UAE. Isn't the UAE the exception that proves the rule? Hasn't their growth come despite and not because of Islam?

Watts might not be far off the mark. Most people yearn for something bigger than themselves to believe in, something that gives them a purpose for living, something that explains the reason for their very existence.

All kinds of freakish philosophies and ideologies have provided answers for people in need of answers, including Communism, Nazism, and many others. That many people believed in, and were prepared to die, for these evil belief systems is proof that in the absence of something better, people will believe in just about anything to fill the void in their lives.

Considering that Westerners, especially in Europe, have abandoned their Judeo/Christian beliefs, is it any wonder that young Westerns convert to Islam, and that hundreds of empty churches have been converted to Mosques in Europe?

Without the counter weight of a believing, practicing, Christian population, Europe is doomed.

It's really no mystery as to why European leaders won't act to protect their socities against creeping Islam. They don't believe in anything themselves, or their Beliefs are so weak that that they can't stir themselves to put up a good defense of it. True they believe in Western values like freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of the press, but they hide behind those values as an excuse to do nothing. Only a belief in something a little more substantial than those values can stir people to fight back against the menace of Islam.

No matter how evil Islam is, it is a vigorous, dogmatic religion with a dedicated and determined population of true believers. That's what gives it an edge over its potential victims.

Boy oh boy, where to start?
First, maybe, to repeat what other posters have noted above: what economic superpower? When did you last buy anything produced in a moslem country (except oil or natural gas)? Maybe some cheap shirts from Bangladesh, or some gym shoes from Indonesia. When I go to a K-Mart or Walgreen's, it seems that everything is made in China; I don't see anything with a label saying "made in Iran" or "made in Algeria" or "made in Mali" or "made in Oman". Or go looking for a new car: lots of new models from Japan, Europe, North America, and Korea. Where are the shiny new models from Iran or Pakistan or Turkey or Egypt? Of maybe they just don't export to the U.S? I don't think so; whenever I see a newscast from the moslem countries, they're all driving around in Mercedes's and Lexus's and Toyota pick-ups. Or have these companies built assembly plants in Islamia? Not that I ever heard of. How about electronics? Where are the HDTV's made? Or the digital cameras? Not in Islamia. And where are the aircraft used by the various national airlines of the islamic countries made?
Take a look at the CERN page on their ALICE project (a new high-energy physics project at CERN near Geneva). It lists 30 countries that are collaborating and providing components for the project; they range from Poland to Korea, and Mexico to Slovakia, but not one is an islamic country.
The islamic economy is simply based, as it always has been, on plunder: slave and looting raids, piracy, and forced tribute. Today it is extortionate prices for oil, a resource found and developed by Western companies.
Then there is that map. How strange that is includes virtually all of Africa, including countries that my almanac (admittedly 3 or 4 years old) lists as being less than 2% moslem: Angola, Burundi, Dem Rep of the Congo, Madagascar, and Zambia; and many others that are only 3% or 4% moslem. Have these countries signed up for membership in some islamic union?

greatcometof1577 & Surak

You are right. I'm surprised that no one else noticed it, but a huge chunk of non-Islamic territories have been incorporated into this fantasy dar-ul-Islam. Like Mongolia, for instance, is a country that's not even 10% Muslim, yet in the above map, it's shown as a Muslim country. Similarly, all the countries in sub Saharan Africa - from Central African Republic right down to Mozambique and Angola - don't have Muslim populations < 15%, yet are shown as a part of the 'Islamic Union'.

All this is relective of the fact that even the OIC as a club is bloated, and includes countries that have been bribed to join, even though Islam isn't one of their top 2 religions. Countries like Guyana, Suriname, Mozambique, Cameroon, et al have Muslim populations that are probably in single figure percentages, yet all are members of the OIC. Granted that in the UN, the OIC is the biggest bloc of countries, but don't let that fool you. There aren't 50 Islamic countries worldwide, even if one counts countries whose only qualification to being Islamic is that it's the state religion, despite the fact that Islam may only be practised by a minority.

On one hand, I don't want the infidel world to be complacent. But OTOH, let's not bloat the magnitude of the Islamic world, which if colored on a map green, can really look daunting. Despite all the Muslim immigration to the West, the Islamic empire stretches from Arab countries in North Africa - Gambia onwards - right up to Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan in the East & North-East, then spills into Bangladesh and the East Indies.

The other thing misleading about the above map is the impression that Muslims are spread out all over the place. Do a population analysis, and about half of them fall in the Indian sub-continent and the East Indies. If these countries are ever defanged in a war and heavily depopulated - that magical 1 billion threshold that Islam likes to gloat about can potentially be crossed - downwards. I'm not advocating genocide - I'm just stating don't let the above picture fool ya.

Although USA is not on the map, USA is not far behind either. To USA's bed luck, the president they "elected" in 2000 and supported in 2004 was a wahhabi pupped, raised on arab oil-wealth with wahhabi family members. With the highest civil post in his pocket, there was little Americans could do but to watch while the president/commander-in-chief naked the very terrorists in his list of 'friends against terror' and folloowed up his promise to blood-thirsty wahhabis bu removing their reference from the 9/11 interim commission report. followed bu aid to the wahhabis and increased student's cisas, when almost all of the 9/11 terrorists came from the 'ally against terror', on student's visas. As if this is not enough the president/comamnder-inb-chief worked hard to make sure the backdoor was agar, while demonizing the sentry at the backdoor. So what if drug-dealer has to be given immunity? How dare border patrol agents do their job, when president/commander declared mexicans do jobs Americans don't do?
But coming back to terror, it is nothing more than kids hijacking their religion of peace.

I have a bit of a problem with his globe. Mongolia
is a "50%+ Muslim population"? Nope, sorry. The CIA's
world fact book lists Mongolia as having a whopping
4% of the population being Muslim. Now I know the
CIA has been somewhat discredited recently for
their various prognostications but even if they're
off by a factor of 5 it's still WAAAAYYY less than
50%. Same with Russia. There are "republics" in
the Russian federation that are majority Muslim
but on the whole the country is maybe 10% Muslim.
The state religion of Russia is Christian Orthodoxy.
Communism created a giant mass of unbelievers such
that the percentage claiming Russian Orthodoxy as
their religion is maybe 20% but the vast mass of
the unwashed unbelievers aren't automatically counted
as Muslim just because they say they aren't Orthodox.

Whether Watt's projection is realized depends critically on Europe.

The near-term fall of Europe into dhimmitude is likely unless there is a major turn-around among Europeans in their attitudes towards Christianity, abortion-on-demand, marriage and families, the work ethic, cradle-to-grave social engineering, etc.

Witness the recent debacle on 9/11 in Brussels where the storm-troopers nailed the free speech of Europeans wanting to stop Islamic immigration. A handful of heroes showed up, but the German, British, and other national delegations pulled out when the atheist mayor prohibited the demonstration.

Wimps cannot win revolutions, moral convictions are required.

The Europeans need to cast off the EU bureaucracy and secular elites and reaffirm their Judo-Christian history and values. Then and only then can they reverse the Arabianization of the continent. The elites and the bureaucrats are selling Europe down the river. Eurabia is a certainty if the EU is allowed to remain intact.

The West needs the moral spirit of the Polish Solidaridad movement of the 1980s, a spirit that rested fundamentally on Christian values of democracy, freedom, and truth. Similar was the spirit of the Ukrainian revolution with the entire nation in the streets. Is Eastern Europe possibly more up to the challenge than Western Europe? There seems to be a more acute appreciation of freedom in the East in recent years.

Europe needs another Radio Free Europe, run by Europeans, dedicated to the overthrow of the EU and re-establishment of the Judo-Christian base on which its long history and basic human values stand. The people need to start hearing the truth.

For America, Eurabia in the hands of the Islamists is not pleasant to contemplate. Britain and France have nuclear arsenals, and nuclear power is widespread in Europe. At some point in time, the American leadership will have to understand that it cannot let Europe go Islamic. Regrettably it is not going to happen with the present Administration, which is firmly in the EU camp. The next Administration? That is a big question mark.

And in what cat's mitten do you think it will?

Steven R. Watts “management consultant” is a Stalinist who is now using Islam instead of communism as his solution to the evils of capitalism and the “white man”. In Steven's mind it is not about individual freedom but ensuring “fairness”, in this case by the sword of Sharia. Watch how he reveals himself:

“But the universal law of economics and the theological teachings of the Qur’an in relation to stewardship will be the dominant conversation going forward and the driver of international relations between communities.”

Yesterday it was Marx and “Das Capital”; today it is Muhammad and the Qur’an.

“New conflict resolution models based on evolving cultural understanding education methodologies will greatly decrease the current conflict scenarios around the world.”

Behold the new “cultural education methodologies” are – SHARIA!

“International relations will become more dependent on theological models of economics designed to benefit more people equally.”

International relations as dictated by Imams – I can’t wait

“The greater objective here is to introduce a possible future where Islam can serve as a stabilizing and peaceful force through the systematic spread of justice and economic opportunity for people that currently and for the foreseeable future have none.”

Kind of like Stalin’s “systematic spread of justice and economic opportunity” - expect similar results.

“The commonly held belief in the West that only Washington, London, Paris, Moscow, or even Beijing can solve the socioeconomic issues facing the world today is outdated at best and insulting in the extreme.”

Steven is insulted by and ashamed of his culture –required first steps before abandoning everything you have learned of value and adopting truly moon bat ideas.

“Inviting the opinion or ideas of the Islamic world may be a good idea, but it is also not a serious or viable alternative since it once again does not give equal standing or serious consideration to the weight that Islamic leadership can play in forming alternative, peaceful solutions to the ongoing conflicts in Africa, Asia and the Middle East.”

This man obviously has no clue as to what he is talking about.

”The sudden success of so-called anti-capitalist, anti-globalization movements of Hugo Chavez in Venezuela, Evo Morales in Bolivia and Alfredo Palacio in Ecuador is another example of the willingness of select countries and communities to try something other than the purely capitalistic model promoted by the West.”

Here we get to the meat of the matter, capitalism is STILL the problem so Steven races to embrace Islam. He has no idea what it is - but he knows he likes it!

“Instead of resource wars between countries there will be resource stewardship and sharing.”

Of course, the Imams would insist on it.

“…are actually establishing a new corporate business model based on the Qur’anic teachings of stewardship and responsibility to all people.”

Should be just as big a hit as “from each according to his ability, to each according to his need”.

“The Islamic Union and its impending superpower status will both enable and challenge it to succeed in a time of great change where there is a desperate need for a truly global cultural and economic transformation that will see peace and prosperity for all people in our time.”

And “We will bury you” as Khrushchev said and “The Reich will last a thousand years” as Hitler said and Islam will swallow you, as Steven R. Watts “management consultant” seemes to say…

But Hugh said it best:
“If enough Infidels come to their senses in time, this is a perfectly manageable problem. And it would involve nothing like the folly and waste of the Iraq venture. Just those two things. Enough. And in time.”

Except for the Iraq part, but that is a separate argument.

This should be on dhimmiwatch. Yes, Islam is becoming a superpower but not because of a building and social services boom in UAE and Dubai ... it is more because of ... a different kind of boom ...

I read bits of this guy's essays. He's either an idiot or an Islamic apologist. While much of his economics are probably correct in coarse view (though not in detail, and I'd like to know how well this economist has analysed the long-term prospects of an oil-based economy in a world transitioning away from dependence on oil...) his description of the nature of an islamic superpower, and of Islam, and of the Qur'an, comes right out of an islamist propaganda tract, and is designed for consumption in a west that has no understanding of Islam. Just take the fact that, in his lengthy web essay about the glories of "islamic culture" that is to be spread over much of the world, the word "sharia" does not occur once -- not anywhere on his site. Exactly WHAT does Watt think "islamic culture" consists of, if not sharia?

Has Fuller Theological Seminary come to this? Does this have something to do with the fact that he's not hosting this site on the FTS webservers?

Under Watt's "Conclusion" section:

"Instead of resource wars between countries there will be resource stewardship and sharing. Companies will still exist and make a profit for shareholders, but they will not be allowed to promote and protect corrupt organizations or corrupt models of business. The marketplace will grow globally due to the elimination of poverty and there will be more opportunities for new ideas based upon the increase in and incorporation of intellectual capital from people and communities that have been denied access to the global economic community due to the artificial but very real barriers of fear and ignorance. Instead of free trade or even fair trade there will be just trade. Based on a Theology Economy of Islamic Economics the world engine of creativity and shared services for the good of all mankind will finally be realized. The supply chain of terrorism will be replaced with the supply chain of ideas and peaceful collaboration between cultures and communities."

Watt's must have read the work of Karl Marx and Timothy Leary. His above Conclusion sounds too much like communism through the eyes of someone on an acid trip.

This should be on dhimmiwatch. Yes, Islam is becoming a superpower but not because of a building and social services boom in UAE and Dubai ... it is more because of ... a different kind of boom ...

A thought occurred to me -- you know the CAIR "desensitization" workshops? Maybe JihadWatch or some other organization should run "resensitization" workshops. Parachute in and people after the brainwashing what it is about this prospect that really is scary.

Of course he is right. Demography is destiny. Look at highest fertility countries (CIA factbook). I believe most of these above 3 are either majority Muslim or have a significant Muslim minority. Of course, most of Europe (including Russia) will be Muslim by century's end, as will Canada and probably Australia. Don't forget India, where Muslim fertility outstrips Hindu such that India will become more Muslim over time.

I haven´t read everything on the page (far from it), but I then thought about one program on Al-Jazeera, where a muslim complained about the fact that islam is no longer the dominant religion in Africa, christianity is. He talked about that more than 6 mil. muslims converted each year to christianity. The figures was, if memory serves, roughly 360 mil. christians against 330 mil. muslims, and the gap is groving in favour to the christians.

That particular muslim had some larger responsibillities for muslim Daw'a in Africa (or parts in Africa) and he claimed that they were loosing, since they couldn´t compete with christians in any field of mission. How correct was his assesment of the african situation? Hard for me to say, but fact remains: A prominent muslim say´s islam is loosing africa!

To me that seems to fly in the face of the web-page here discussed.

My best to all who work to contermand islamic supremacism!

Man I would be worried if I was in South Africa.

I agree with the above poster who says there is too much in fighting and hatred though to make it happen.

OK now I have read this guy website. Forget South Africa he made AUSTRALIA "green".

All I can say is.. Would someone please pass this guy some lube...

He has got to be pulling..our legs...

Yes, Islam is advancing, though it is the world's most criticizable religion.

Only real scientific education and encouragement to rational scientific thinking can stem the growth if islam.

Particularly Muslims must be shown the economic disaster that is islam.

The followers must be talked out of their religion of ignorance.

But then, it is also being realised that Islam is a factor of failure, and every major terrorist act is converting many a muslim out of islam.

So, the apostates must be protected and encouraged to speak out.

Women's rights movements is a plus point in stemming the tide of islam.

Lets be optimistic. Islam began with a bang, and will probably end the same way..with a bang. Only, lets be prepared that the big bang does not take us down the ditch..

Surak, believe me, it's not going to happen down here.

Slightly OT, I expect that the jihad will become an increasing problem in SE Asia for the next decade. Only Burma, Thailand, and Northern India prevent the completion of an Islamic cresent linking West Africa to the Southern Philipines, a complete Islamic land bridge from the Atlantic to the Pacific.

India will feel increased pressure in Kashmir, possibly also in the North-East adjoining Bangaladesh. Those "restive" Moslems in Thailand will become much more "restive". Moslem encampments are now starting to appear in costal areas of Burma populated by Moslem "refugees" from Bangaldesh (supported, of course, by the wonderful UN).

A simple check into his "resources" is a really big clue as to his *ahem* "expertise"...which I laugh at even MORE so now than before...

...NOT...GONNA...HAPPEN...

lol

A few days ago you quoted your good friend Jeff: "Greco-Roman civilization and Christian civilization were open-ended and forward looking. ... Islamic civilization is a "whole system," as a Muslim friend told me recently. It tends toward totalitarianism, and toward constant renewals and self-purifications that push Western-type influences out. It's much more like (but not completely like) communism. When communism learns to incorporate economic dynamism and individual rights, it ceases to function."
And because of that this "ISLAM 21st CENTURY SUPERPOWER" "vision" is just wishfull thinking. The oeconomic success of Dubai is because their oil resources make it possible to buy western know how. Most of the rest of the muslim world is an oeconomic deseaster. But to "incorporate economic dynamism" in their system would destroy it. That´s their dilemma and our (hidden) strength.

Hugh, Everyone Else,

Would it suprise all of yous and after first hearing about it, that the world tallest building or skyscraper is going up in Dubai? With that building and a few others that is going to be a city within a city.

Here folks is the website for the new Dubai tower:

http://www.burjdubai.com/

Be aware folks that it will open up via Flash, just in case anyone has a slower internet conection. But the presentation is amazing.

champ,

Take a look at the website for the new building. Posting above.

What is Mongolia doing in the mix? How informed is this guy?

This article on a potential "Islamic Superpower" just reinforces my long held belief that we should get out of the middle east and let these dark aged barbarians kill each other with abandon. Then after the Religion of Peace have killed each other off and a winner finally emerges, that's when we go in and bludgeon the winner into the ground. This will never happen I'm afraid. We are too educated & civilized to actually do something as drastic as actually defend western civilization. All Hail the twin Gods of Diversity & Multiculturalism!

Meanwhile, for more than four-and-a-half years, those now running the American government, having done so little to educate themselves about Islam, and done so little to require that those in the government, or in the security services, or in the military, educate themselves, about Islam, and therefore have been unable to instruct those to whom they have a duty to so instruct when new and unprecedented threats arise, continue to insist that "bringing freedom" to "ordinary moms and dads" in Iraq, even were it achievable, would somehow, in a way never quite explained, lead to a lessening of the world-wide Jihad, and especially, to a lessening of the demographic pressures and Da'wa successes of Islam in Western Europe.

But there is no reason to think that what the Adminstration would define as a successful outcome in Iraq -- the country remaining as one, the "Iraqi people" permitting the American people to transfer more and more tens of billions in "reconstruction" -- not to mention the nearly trillion dollars spent to create the security conditions that allow those "reconstruction" proejcts to contine and expand -- in the hope that this will somehow (it will not) calm the Arabs and Muslims, and make them less hostile. But everytime a Qur'an is read, every time an imam reads his khutba (sermon) at Friday Prayers, every time an Islamic video appears on the Internet, every time Al Jazeera rewinds the tape on some supposed Infidel atrocity or reports on some Infidels behaving badly, by banning the hijab here, or publishiing some cartoons over there, and refusing to kowtow to Muslim demands for changes in Western legal and political institutions and social understandings, demands that are not about trivia, but go to the essence -- free speech, freedom of conscience -- separation of religion and public life -- that make the West what it is, and what so distinguishes it from its historic antagonist, the Camp of Islam.

Those who presume to protect us have not bothered to find out about Islam. Or when they do, they always run to the same apologists. There were those in the Clinton Administration who went to John Esposito. After all, he ran the "Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding." He had written many books, including some published by Oxford University Press. Did that not make him an "expert" on Islam, someone one could trust? And besides, he was right down the street, for that Arab-funded "Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding" had been deliberately placed, along with its twin, the "Center for Contemporary Arab Studies," most conveniently on the campus of Georgetown University, just so members of the American government and the press could easily consult with its "experts" - from Esposito, Voll and Haddad, to Michael Hudson and assorted Khalidis at the "Arab Studies" wing of the effort.

What is the one thing that soldiers in Iraq learn next to nothing about? It's Islam. What is the one subject that is not to be discussed> It's Islam. Oh, they get training in "cultural sensitivity." Watch it with the women, those Arabs "are very sensitive." Don't eat with your left hand when with Arabs. Watch it about crossing your legs and exposing the bottom of your boot in the presence of Arabs -- it's disrespectful. Oh, and by the way, this just in --there are Sunnis and Shi'a, and they don't much care for each other, but let's leave it at that.

And that's it. Nothing about how Christians and Jews and other non-Muslims are viewed in Islam. Not a single Qur'anic passage can be heard in the training rooms and on the fields of Fort Jackson, Fort Dix, Fort Bragg, Fort Benning, Fort Anything-at-all. How many soldiers in the American army -- who might have received some knowledge of the enemy, the enemy now, and the enemy that is with us forever -- know how to properly define the word "Jihad"? How many know the word "dhimmi" and can list a few of the many onerous disabilities under which the "dhimmi" labored? How many can define the word "Jizyah"? How many know what "taqiyya" is, or "kitman"? How many can describe the deeply-held beliefs of most Muslims, and go beyond the mere rituals of the Five Pillars (Shahada, zakat, salat, Ramadan, hajj)? How many can relate the aggression and violence of Muslim societies to the world presented by the Qur'an and the Sunnah (derived from the Hadith and the Sira), where war against one's enemies is constant, where there is no permanent peace but only, at best, a "hudna" until such time as the Muslim side is strong enough to attack, and where there is no such thing as permanent compromise but only, in the end, the Victor (the Believers) and the Vanquished (the Unbelievers, or Infidels), and the ways in which this aggression, this violence, this primitive there-is-Islam-and-only-Islam worldview explains the behavior of the Iraqis, that is otherwise, to those unfortunate much-put-upon soldiers, simply inexplicable?

A failure of American education, and a failure that has cost, or will cost, more than a trillion dollars. Something to think about, the next time you are at a store, and hesitate about buying something, for five or ten dollars, because you aren't quite sure that, given expenses these days for everything (and think what that trillion could have done to pay for health care, or tuitions), you want right now to spend that five, or that ten.

Meanwhile, the Administration is unable to admit to others, much less to itself, that the Iraq War is folly, folly not because Islam is not a threat (as some of its critics apparently believe), but because it is. It is the size of the mistake, the hugeness of it, that prevents the Bush Administration, and its loyalists (some of whom appear to have begun to realize that they were terribly wrong about Iraq, as they learn or are forced to learn, more about Islam, but they find it too painful to admit this, too awkward at this poiint to quite concede, especially since it might disappoint their claque) from standing back, and seeing the monumental folly of what they think they should achieve --it makes no sense from the viewpoint of a counter-Jihad -- in Iraq, and what is in any case, because of the tenets and attitudes of Islam which they keep ignoring, keep refusing to recognize, and are wilfully refusing or perhaps simply unable to comprehend (but Islam is not a hermetic system, it is not elementary particle physics, it is easy to find out what is contained in the Qur'an, Hadith, and Sira, easy to find out what leading clerics preach, easy to now read, in translation, what Muslims say to fellow Muslims and how they say it - so why don't we?).

Folly. Waste. Fear of having that folly and that waste fully recognized, so a failure to begin to try to understand What Went Wrong. And What Went Wrong is that they never got Islam, or Iraq, right. They assumed. They guessed. They hoped. They dreamed.

They have no culture- except that of oppression and death.
Economy: If the western 'infidels and crusaders' would withdraw their technical support, even the wealthy, oil-rich, nations would find themselves in dire economic straights in short order. To maintain their position in the oil market they must have ongoing exploration and development of new reserves. Without our help (technical assistance; machinery and materials) progress will be very slow at best and maintenance of existing production will be difficult.

Sad to say, none of this will happen because we aren't fighting this war in the "total warfare" frame of mind.

This is mad.

Mad, not in that he foresees some kind of resurrected Caliphate (perish the thought!!!), but that he seems to think such a damnable entity would be...desirable. Does he LIKE the idea of being a despised and persecuted and exploited dhimmi slave?

In any case - such an entity would rapidly self-cannibalise, as all such Muslim entities have, in the past; and it would stifle independent thinking and creativity, and wreck its resource base, as all such Muslim entities have done, in the past. Nothing to look forward to, there, but the abyss.

JOE SCHMOE posted an incredible fact that no one has commented on. He says: "there is too much hate in Islam to succeed...."

Did you all know that Islam has 99 attributes, synonyms, names for their god? And guess what, LOVE is not one of the 99 attributes!!!!!!! (I purposely used lower case god, since their allah is a phony, not the good, loving GOD that I love and worship!! (the GOD that loves all mankind, not just Christians!!)

In the New Testament BIBLE,(I John 4:8) GOD IS LOVE!!! Love always triumphs over hate!! ALWAYS! The God who is LOVE can never be destroyed! So, tata, goodbye, adios allah!

For those who don't think Canada and Australia will be Islamic, think again. Native fertility rates in both countries is abysmal. Muslim immigration continues apace, and Muslim fertility remains high. I think there is little doubt that Canada will be Muslim, and the US should plan for this eventuality.

As to Australia, they recently conducted a census (2006) which shows that the Muslim share of the population under 14 years of age has doubled since 1996. It's sill relatively low (less than 4%), but I have little doubt that it will reach the 10% mark by 2020.

It'll be a leap for them to become a 17th century superpower. If Watts is right there will be a new "Dark Ages", but with cell phones and computers. Let's fight to make sure the MF'er is dead wrong, and that these effwits end up in the dustbin of history.

Do take the time to check out this guy's site, particularyly his concluding rhapsody about the mosque and the marketplace. He needs to spend some time in someplice like Algeria.

Their map is stupid. It includes Mongolia which is 82% Buddhist and 16% Christian. There are no Muslims in Mongolia. The probably meant to include the mostly Muslim Sinjiang area of China instead.

Well, the guy is a bit wishful in his figures. Zambia, to mention one country, is shown as having “50+% muslim population”. The CIA World Factbook 2007, however, says about Zambia: “Christian 50%-75%, Muslim and Hindu 24%-49%, indigenous beliefs 1%”…

I lived in Zambia for a couple of years, and I can assure you that muslims are uncommon. Zambia has an eager and growing christian population. There are churches everywhere, and you can find people reading their bibles everywhere. I can't remember having met even one muslim while I was there. I estimate that the majority of the “Muslim and Hindu 24%-49%” mentioned in the world factbook are hindus (there are a lot of indians in the cities).

The guy also shows Zimbabwe in green (“50+% muslim population”). CIA world factbook says “syncretic (part Christian, part indigenous beliefs) 50%, Christian 25%, indigenous beliefs 24%, Muslim and other 1%”.

I'd call his website “wishful thinking” (i.e. wishful for muslims), although it certainly makes you think.

sent this to the person in question_

forecasting the future - it reminds me a bit like that old science program on TV - tommorows world - were every year they try and predict, from a technological viewpoint , just how the future will look.
You, my friend, would do good to look at it. They have never even been close - everything they predicted either did not occure or occurred differently - just as your forecast of a rosy islamic future is just as unlikely.
I sense an agenda here - but even if you dont have one, here, from me, is another stab at future forcasting.
"
The jihad continues unabated - western populations become agitated and demand their governments do something and stop appeasing Islam - the far right makes huge advances in western Europe - they gain control of western governments - watch the uk and france - they are especially vulnerable - the gloves come off - instead of being an advance party in the Islamification of Europe the Muslims living there find themselves trapped !!-------"
I will let you fill in the rest for yourselves - either way its the end game for Islam - a wicked socio-politic system devised by a wicked man to with only one purpose in mind - world domination!! - remember what happened to the last man who tried that - never underestimate peoples power of self-preservation

bigcatgirl13106 --

Sheesh! I didn't realize that this new tower was already under construction. It reminds me of the Tower of Babel. They too were hoping to "unite humanity" by building a tower, but look at what eventually happened to the Tower of Babel. Thanks for posting this photo!

tgusa --

Yeah, why would Watt's expect to turn this world into a eutopia under the worlds current economic condition? And then he takes it one step further into Fantasy-Land by expecting Islam -- OF ALL THINGS -- to hold the key to happiness for humanity. What a kook.

Sorry to break this to you, Watt's, but the case for Islam has L O N G been lost in the court of public appeal as a SuperPower. Consumer's are way too smart to fall for this Islamic-Bunk of yours. Not unless they're smoking whatever Watt's is smoking.

Fertility rankings:

Russia - 1.39
EU - 1.50
Canada - 1.61
Australia - 1.76

Replacement - roughly 2.1

China and India in the Islamic Union - wishful thinking. Russia and the EU - quite possible in our lifetimes; Canada by the end of the century.

The fallacy is that this union will be peaceable. A cursory examination of daily life in Iraq shows that Muslims love each other to death...

Also, as someone observed, the absorption of the EU into the umah will constitute killing the goose that lays the golden egg. This will be the second sacking of Rome by the barbarians.

Islam will be defeated by the truth.

We have yet to speak the truth about Islam and about Western democracy with enough volume and force to be effective. The reason for this failure to communicate is that enough of us are not yet educated about Islam. Some of us are fuzzy about the POWER of our own core values as well.

The first step to victory is to know your enemy – we have yet to attain the first step.

Hugh has it absolutely right when he states:

“Those who presume to protect us have not bothered to find out about Islam. Or when they do, they always run to the same apologists.”

Every effort must be made to educate our leaders.

“What is the one thing that soldiers in Iraq learn next to nothing about? It's Islam. What is the one subject that is not to be discussed> It's Islam.”

Every effort must be made to educate our soldiers and our population.

Hugh is absolutely wrong however, when he suggests that we abandon Iraq to our enemies. In an earlier thread I characterized Hugh’s position as “they fight each other forever and leave us alone”. This was incorrect. I now see his true position as “they fight each other AND US forever” The West will be locked in “endless war” as Hugh has stated several times. This will probably be the case if we retreat as Hugh advises – I see another possibility.

As one post stated:
“Human beings cannot fully develop their talents in any system that mandates deception. Once they are given an alternative to such a system they will run to the alternative (which is why Islam dare not permit equality of religion or freedom of conscience). Islam's internal contradiction is its mandate-permission to deception. One day in the future everyone will see that very clearly.”

We must hold the ground we have won and clearly and loudly proclaim the truth about Islam and about the free alternative. WE WILL NOT WIN THIS WAR BY HIDING WHO WE ARE. We cannot kill 1.2 billion Muslims – fortunately this will not be necessary.

The ideology of Islam must be met head on with the ideology of democratic freedom.
The alternative is “endless war”

Looks like a good first draft of targeting map.

From Davegreybeard:
"We cannot kill 1.2 billion Muslims – fortunately this will not be necessary."

Probably not, as a practical matter we would quickly reach the point of diminishing returns on weapon deployment. But we do have the "physics" capacity to destroy a majority of the world wide Muslim population, and ensure that the umma could not pose a civilizational threat again for decades, if not centuries. It is not a great plan, but we owe it to ourselves and the Muslim population to let them know the likely end of the road their theocrats are leading them down. If they think the reaction of 9/11 was heavy handed, think about what we are militarily capable of if they succeed in fulfilling Bin Laden's fatwa for killing millions of Americans.

"The ideology of Islam must be met head on with the ideology of democratic freedom."

I agree, but our leaders are not doing this, and so they are making large scale conflict in the future more likely, if not inevitable. The more time we give them to infiltrate our society the more likely this fight will be in our own streets.

Where is our Truman, our JFK?

"Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, in order to assure the survival and the success of liberty. This much we pledge—and more.
…..
In the long history of the world, only a few generations have been granted the role of defending freedom in its hour of maximum danger. I do not shrink from this responsibility—I welcome it. I do not believe that any of us would exchange places with any other people or any other generation. The energy, the faith, the devotion which we bring to this endeavor will light our country and all who serve it—and the glow from that fire can truly light the world."

John F. Kennedy
Inaugural Address
Friday, January 20, 1961

"I urge Japanese civilians to leave industrial cities immediately, and save themselves from destruction.
....
I realize the tragic significance of the atomic bomb. Its production and its use were not lightly undertaken by this Government. But we knew that our enemies were on the search for it. We know now how close they were to finding it. And we knew the disaster, which would come to this Nation, and to all peace-loving nations, to all civilization, if they had found it first.
.....
Having found the bomb we have used it. We have used it against those who attacked us without warning at Pearl Harbor, against those who have starved and beaten and executed American prisoners of war, against those who have abandoned all pretense of obeying international laws of warfare. We have used it in order to shorten the agony of war, in order to save the lives of thousands and thousands of young Americans. We shall continue to use it until we completely destroy Japan's power to make war. Only a Japanese surrender will stop us."

President Harry Truman's radio address to the American public, August 9, 1945.

"Only a Japanese surrender will stop us."

Winning or losing.... that's what it comes down to. And all the hand wringing in the world won't change that.

You know what I was reminded of, when I read that excerpt from Watts' website which you quoted, and also Robert's assessment of Watts' mindset - that Watts is setting out to 'try to ride the wave and adapt to the new world order?'

I was eerily reminded of Saruman's spiel to Gandalf in The Fellowship of the Ring [NOT the movie: the book], in the chapter entitled, 'the Council of Elrond'. I quote:

"He [Saruman] drew himself up then and began to declaim, as if he were making a speech long rehearsed. 'The Elder Days are gone. The Middle Days are passing. The Younger Days are beginning. The time of the Elves is over, but our time is at hand: the world of Men, which we must rule. But we must have power, power to order all things as we will, for that good which only the Wise can see.'

'And listen, Gandalf...' he said, coming near and speaking now in a softer voice. "I said we, for we it may be, if you will join with me. A NEW POWER IS RISING. AGAINST IT THE OLD ALLIES AND POLICIES WILL NOT AVAIL US AT ALL. There is no hope left in Elves, or dying Numenor. This then is one choice before you, before us. We may join with this Power. It would be wise, Gandalf. There is hope that way. ITs victory is at hand; AND THERE WILL BE RICH REWARD FOR THOSE THAT AIDED IT. As the Power grows, its proved friends will also grow; and the Wise, such as you and I, may with patience come at last to direct its courses, to control it.'

'We can bide our time, we can keep our thoughts in our hearts, deploring maybe evils done by the way, but approving the high and ultimate purpose: Knowledge, Rule, Order, all the things that we have so far striven in vain to accomplish, hindered rather than helped by our weak or idle friends. There need not be there would not be, any real change in our designs, only in our means.'
"Saruman,' I [Gandalf] said, 'I have heard speeches of this kind before, but only in the mouths of emissaries sent from Mordor to deceive the ignorant...'"

Mr Watts makes a pretty good 'Saruman', methinks. Remember that Tolkien represents Saruman as a master of propaganda - read, and reflect upon, the chapter in the second book, 'The Two Towers', entitled 'the voice of saruman'.

Readers unfamiliar with Tolkien might also find it interesting to read the chapter 'the scouring of the shire', in 'the return of the king', the final book of Tolkien's Lord of the Rings trilogy. His account of the corruption, infiltration and ultimately occupation of the Shire - by Saruman, acting under orders from Mordor, and note that the initial moves are all economic, involving trade, bribery and corruption - and how that process is reversed, offers much food for thought.

Instead of heeding the siren voice of Watts/ Saruman, we just have to keep on blowing the horn-call of Buckland, as Peregrine Took does in 'the scouring of the shire': 'Fear! Fire! Foes! Awake!'.

I am constantly reminded of LOTR when I see or hear about the war against Islam.

People who don't want to wake up and see what's going on... remember how Gandalf had to muster the Rohan and tell King Theoden that war was upon them?

It seems so apocalyptic.

"'We can bide our time, we can keep our thoughts in our hearts, deploring maybe evils done by the way, but approving the high and ultimate purpose: Knowledge, Rule, Order, all the things that we have so far striven in vain to accomplish, hindered rather than helped by our weak or idle friends."

What an analogy! I love it!

On the net there are hundreds of articles and verses on how wonderful Islam .. But there is no mention of the hundreds of verses of terrorise and slaughter all who will not submit in the whole world. Yes there are some good verses in the first part of the quran particularly or as it suited Allah/Mohammad to manipulate the people..
I even saw a video of a cleric telling the crowd, which I think was mainly a non Muslim crowd, that where the Quran says that a husband can beat the disobedient wife, that it didn't mean to beat her badly but to beat her with a piece of material or hanky... One can only laugh at that, and see it is yet another lie, as the centuries go by how can the Muslim men read this into these verses as it says to beat the wife.. and beat means to beat, which stinken hurts, it can cause broken bones and bruising etc..It doesn't say to beat lightly, it says to beat!!! and beating can range from a couple of full strength blows with a stick to beating to within an inch of ones life.

As long as we stop wasting our substance trying to heal the rifts in the fabric of Islam, a "union" is a wish on behalf of the Islamics, not a probability.

Study the early caliphs--what happened after Mahomet went to . . . wherever he went to after he left this world . . . and you will see what happened, time and time again.

That does not mean that we are off the Islamic hook--or point of the scimitar.

They--the Islamics--will always view us as enemy of Islam No. 1: the "infidel," "kufar."

But instead of healing, we must encourage even the smallest rift in the Islamic "union." Especially, we can work on the conquered people, those whose ancestors were forcibly converted--or who accepted Islam as the easy way out--easier than being dead or dhimmified.

There are national, ethnic "feelings" arising amongst some of these that have been forced to accept the Arab and his Mecca as the supreme race and place.

Unfortunately, the Hindus forcibly or voluntarily converted to islam--those of Pakistan--have forgotten their ancestry, and feel as if they are being accepted as equal with the Arab. They are not.

The Amazigh of North Africa are similar to the Paki--in many cases, but there is dissatisfaction with the forced Arabization. To be ashamed of what you are--ethnically--of the language that is your ancestral one--is not desirable.

Chip, chip, we can chip away. Those who try heal the sunni-shi'a rift are doing our side a disservice. (If the shoe fits . . wear it, and I hope it pinches your feet.)

Also, if it comes to deciding whether to submit to Islam (or dying while resisting it) or using fearful wepons to destroy millions upon millions of Moslems, what would your choice be?

We will get the leaders we need when the time to act decisively comes.

This site is an advertisement. Watts is just using the scare method, basically saying: this is what is going to happen, like it or not, want to know how to deal with it? HIRE ME! (Remember "Vote for me or the terrorist will kill you all.")

His job is basically to answer these types of questions for big business, primarily Exxon Mobile(yes, he's a big oil man):

how do we remove the resources of Middle Eastern and African nations without causing a jihad?

if our countries have an open immigration policy regarding Muslims, as well as a tolerant society, will that help to persuade their leaders to give us drilling rights?

Where should we put our election dollars?

He defines what it means to be an evil capitalist and one more reason to lose our oil dependency.

Islamofascist wet dream...

Unrealistic, but at least the future of Europe could be islamic... But not because of strenght of islam, but weakness of the West.

Love this guy! Making money off of Muslims' gullibility and self delusion. We should all be doing this. No one capable of rubbing two brain cells together will lend any credence to this clever marketing plot. This is for muslim consumption only.

Islam from an economic standpoint operates by piracy ("Enjoy the good things gotten from war" this could have been penned by Blackbeard).

So if Islam attacks, conquers and loots enough 'infidel' nations it could possibly emerge as a world power even though as we all know by now it produces nothing but religion. Islam has emerged as a world power in the past and as we all know history has an unfortunate habit of repeating itself. So, alas, we cannot write this possibility off. And--

If Islam DID emerge as a world power it would attempt to wipe out everyone else to an even greater degree than it is doing now.

How to stop Islam's rise? One idea would be to cut off food imports to the Muslim nations. None of these societies produces anywhere enough food to feed their fast-rising populations (Egypt, Sudan, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Indonesia are all good illustrations of how serious Islamic food shortages can get).

Without enough food and fresh water Islam's ambitions to global power can be thwarted fairly easily--if the western democracies act to curtail it in time (the question, of course, is --WILL THEY DO IT?).

Read this article by an eminent physicist from Pakistan: "Science and the Islamic world—The quest for rapprochement". It makes clear why it is impossible that Islam becomes the "cultural and economic Superpower of the 21st Century". Demographics and money are not everything. If knowledge is lacking so much that “one almost despairs”, they simply do not have the means to take over.

Some time ago, Mr Fitzgerald drew our attention to a book for 11-13 year olds, "The Barbary Pirates" [1953] by C S Forester (best known for the 'Hornblower' series). I got hold of a copy, and read it.

If our Mr Watts, who is so enthusiastic about a coming Islamic world order, had ever read Forester's little book, he might - if he had any wit at all - have tempered his enthusiasm.

Forester, before setting out to express in plain language, suitable for intelligent children, the story of how the USA ultimately squashed the Barbary pirates, provides a historical introduction. Here is some of it:

"the homelands of these people - the four North African countries of Morocco, Algiers [Algeria] Tunis [Tunisia] and Tripoli [Libya] - were known as the Barbary States. THEY WERE PARTS OF THE VAST MOHAMMEDAN EMPIRE WHICH AT ONE TIME HAD THREATENED TO CONQUER THE WHOLE WORLD. Later, this empire FELL TO PIECES OF ITS OWN WEIGHT, LARGELY BECAUSE IT HAD NEVER BEEN ABLE TO BUILD ANY SYSTEM OF GOVERNMENT EXCEPT A SIMPLE TYRANNY" (page 5). All those other weighty volumes, by all the far more sophisticated and subtle scholars that Mr Fitzgerald recommends to us, probably boil down, in the end, to the same devastating conclusion here voiced by Forester in two simple sentences.

Forester expands on this by observing that in these North African Mohammedan states
"the Dey or Bey, Pasha or Emperor, whatever the local ruler called himself, lived only as long as he could remain more powerful than his rivals and enemies. The moment his grasp weakened he could expect to be strangled and to be succeeded by someone else eager to take his place.'

'The truth was that a large part of the people were no more loyal to their rulers than their rulers were to Constantinople [and one might generalise, substituting, Baghdad, etc.]. They paid taxes only when the ruler was strong enough to compel them; and they were often hostile and independent under their own chiefs."

He might be talking about the Balkans - or Islamised 'palestine' and Islamised Spain - or Afghanistan, or Yemen, or Somalia, or Gaza and Lebanon nowadays...take your pick, anywhere in the Ummah, anywhen.

Not the sort of thing any sane human would want to see reproduced all over the planet.
