BERLIN: An Islamic militant group has claimed responsibility for a foiled bomb plot that targeted the American military facility at Ramstein and sought to force the closure of an air base that supports Germany's mission in Afghanistan, the German government said Tuesday.The Interior Ministry, which is responsible for police and internal security, said the Internet announcement by the Islamic Jihad Union was being treated as genuine by government security experts. Three men were arrested Sept. 4 on suspicion of planning massive bombings against U.S. and other facilities in Germany.
The ministry said the attacks were aimed at pressing Germany to close its air base in Termez, Uzbekistan. The base near the Uzbek-Afghan border provides logistical support for the roughly 3,000 German troops serving as part of NATO'S international security force in Afghanistan.
"In an Internet appearance, the Islamic Jihad Union has taken responsibility for the foiled attacks in Germany and addresses the arrests of Sept. 4, 2007," the ministry statement said. "The attacks planned according to this for the end of 2007 were directed against the U.S. air base at Ramstein as well as U.S. and Uzbek consular facilities in Germany."
German officials had previously said the bombings targeted bars and discotheques frequented by Americans as well as airports, but that they were not sure of the exact targets.

Did these people train in Iraq, the "central front" on the "war on terror"? No, they did not.
Where then did they train? They trained in Pakistan, a "close ally" in the "war on terror," and the recipient, since 2001 alone and from the United States alone, of some $27.5 billion dollars in direct aid and cancelled debt. But if would-be terrorists can train on the territory of such "close allies" as Pakistan who are receiving all that money, and if they can also receive financial support from another "close ally" or "staunch ally" of the United States, Saudi Arabia, or for that matter from people or institutions or groups in the Emirates or in Kuwait or in Qatar (another "staunch ally" that nonetheless harbors both the Advice-to-Muslims Al-Qaradawi, and the satellite television station Al Jazeera -- two versions of dangerous anti-Western propagandists) or, indeed, anywhere that there are communities of Muslims able to find a property on which to train, to scheme and dream, of inflicting destruction on, and instilling terror in, Infidels.
There is no "central front" in the "war on terror." That "front" is everywhere, and nowhere. It is wherever there are Muslims who have decided rather impatiently to employ the instrument of qitaal, or combat (i.e., violence), or rather the form of it we Infidels correctly describe as "terrorism," rather than limit themselves to the other, highly effective instruments of Jihad -- the money weapon, Daw'a, demographic conquest from within the lands of the Infidels -- that are directed at attaining the same goals that the terrorists wish to achieve.
The attacks were against the West, not necessarily against Germany, which in many respects has given aid and comfort to the enemy islam.
They were former overt partners in jew-killing in WWII, and many Germans have profited from and idealogically still support that agenda.
No doubt Mein Kamph and The Protocols are companion volumes for the left and for the arab world.

Its funny, I did that just yesterday, the strange thing was I was checking out some pix taken from a flyover of one of the al-fuuqra
compounds, and I saw something that made chills. In one of the photos they show a newer building, well the freaky thing about it is there is a dirt road not too far from where I grew up, and there is a structure(newly constructed) that looks exactly identical to the building in this photo. Crescent moon on top and all, tucked away in the middle of the woods hmmmmm.......are there more compounds set up that are not being reported?
