Jihadist in the Netherlands convicted...again

His plans were "clumsy and primitive," so let's let him walk the streets until he learns how to do it right. "Samir A. convicted again for terrorism," from Expatica (thanks to Sr. Soph):

THE HAGUE (AFP) - A Dutch Muslim radical was sentenced to four years in jail by an Amsterdam appeals court on Monday for planning a terrorist attack in 2004.

Samir Azzouz had already been acquitted on the same charges twice by a lower court and an appeals court which said his plans were "so clumsy and primitive" that they were not a threat.

But the case was referred for re-trial by the Dutch supreme court earlier this year, and the Amsterdam appeals court ruled Monday that the Azzouz was indeed planning an attack.

Police found floor plans of government buildings, chemicals and night vision goggles and a silencer for a gun at his home.

Azzouz, 21, was convicted in December last year and sentenced to eight years in prison for planning terrorist attacks against Dutch politicians and the headquarters of the intelligence services in 2005.

Arrested in 2003 because police suspected he was planning to make a bomb, he was released due to lack of evidence.

He was arrested again in 2004 on the charges he is now convicted of, and again in October 2005. He has been in jail since his last arrest.

Azzouz has been linked to a group whose leader was jailed for the murder of Dutch filmmaker Theo van Gogh.

According to prosecutors in other cases against Azzouz he had ties to Mohammed Bouyeri, who was sentenced to life imprisonment two years ago for killing Van Gogh in November 2004.

Azzouz attended religious meetings at Bouyeri's Amsterdam residence before he killed the filmmaker.

....no doubt, they washed their feet, bounced their heads on the floor, and mumbled Alllaaaahhh Akkkabarrrrrr.......

A letter from Winston S. Churchill (grandson of the great man, I think)

Islamist danger

Sir – Britain sends some of the finest and most courageous of their generation to risk their lives and spill their blood chasing the Taliban out of Afghanistan. But who, meanwhile, is guarding our homeland?

A recent police report makes clear that, back here in Britain the Deobandi – the very same Islamist sect responsible for spawning the Taliban in Afghanistan – has succeeded in taking over more than 600 of Britain's 1,350 mosques. In addition, it controls 17 of Britain's 26 Islamic seminaries and produces 80 per cent of Britain's home-trained Islamic clerics.

It's a funny old world, as Margaret Thatcher once famously remarked. Except that this is no laughing matter. Not for 70 years has there been a more clear or present danger to our internal security, to our free society and to our democracy, than that posed by this vipers' nest in our midst. The Deobandi, an ultra- conservative sect, outlaws music, art, television and football, and also demands the entire concealment of women.

According to the Lancashire Council of Mosques, the Deobandi has now taken control of 59 out of 75 mosques in the old Lancashire mill towns of Oldham, Preston, Bury, Blackburn and Burnley. While not all Deobandis are extremist, leading preachers of this sect aim to radicalise the Islamic youth of Britain, and to mobilise them against our society and the freedoms we hold so dear.

When will the Government wake up to this mortal threat which – if not swiftly dealt with – threatens to bring strife and bloodshed to the streets of Britain on a scale far exceeding anything seen in the bombings of recent years?

Why are Gordon Brown and David Cameron, indeed our entire political class, so deafeningly silent on this, the most pressing matter confronting Britain today? Who will help the moderate majority of Muslims maintain control of their mosques? Who will safeguard the homeland?

Winston S. Churchill, London SW1

From the article:

Police found floor plans of government buildings, chemicals and night vision goggles and a silencer for a gun at his home.

This is what the Dutch consider "clumsy and primitive"? What does he have to use, an army of microscopic robots powered by anti-matter that could teleport themselves inside infidels' craniums and start firing high-powered proton beams directly into their brains? Would that be sophisticated enough to consider convicting him? Sheesh. Somebody's got a suicidal death wish, and somebody else is obviously able and willing to assist in fulfilling that wish. Sounds like a match made in Allah's sick and perverted heaven.

Sounds like oj simpson...lol

DP111 quoted Winston S. Churchill:

Who will help the moderate majority of Muslims maintain control of their mosques?

His grandfather would disagree with the framing of that question.

Yes, this Churchill might have quoted his grandfather directly as part of his letter of alarm, and left out that "moderate majority" business (google "Ten Things To Think When Thinking About Moderate Muslims").

OK, Winston S. Churchill has both confused me and led me to a crystallization, a clarity, on what the question is.

Here's a bit from a speech he gave last year:

At the same time it is vital that, in our pursuit of the men and women of terror — we do all we can, not to alienate these large Muslim communities already established among us. For, without the active support of the Muslim communities, we shall never excise this deadly cancer in our midst.

And here's the question: Is there a cancer within Islam, or is Islam itself the cancer?

If the latter is the case, the 'active support' of Muslim communities is like the fox supporting the henhouse. We'd be idiots to sit still for it. People tell me that the only reason that most Muslims in the West are not troublemakers is that they simply are not the majority yet. This I don't want to believe, but, as somebody told me yesterday, we are about the truth here and not political correctness.

Clearly the implications are staggering. No wonder I don't want to believe it. But why else is there so much foot-dragging on the obviously needed reforms? Why do they spend more time accusing us of 'ignorance' about Islam than they do denouncing jihadis?

Thanks in advance everybody.

I suppose W S Churchill is selecting his words with care, for as a public figure he has to pay lip service to the mythical majority of moderate moslems.

Despite the reservations of JW commentators, a Churchill letter that goes on to say "When will the Government wake up to this mortal threat which – if not swiftly dealt with – threatens to bring strife and bloodshed to the streets of Britain on a scale far exceeding anything seen in the bombings of recent years?", is bound to attract attention.

Robert said, in reference to Ten Things to Think When Thinking of Muslim "Moderates":

Jihad Watch Board Vice President Hugh Fitzgerald's brilliant and absolutely must-be-read exploration of the very concept of moderate Islam and the existence of moderate Muslims

Don't get mad at me, I'm just quoting a trusted source...

I agree.

WS Churchill needs to become leader of a british nationalist coalition government. He'd win a landslide vote.

One idiot with an 85 IQ can drive a truck into a sidewalk cafe and kill a dozen geniuses.

Killing people and harming society doesn't take even normal intelligence. Please don't dismiss efforts to do so, no matter how amateurish or comical. Such efforts may actually kill someone.

Sorry but I must comment on this aspect of Dutch law. He was acquitted, three times, retried and found guilty. Am I understanding this right; there is no double jeopardy clause in Dutch law. In the US if he was acquitted, he could never be retried. The prosecution cannot appeal a not guilty verdict. Speaking of OJ, how many times would it take Marsha Clark to get it right.

I still prefer the 5th Amendment.

Doesn't matter now...he's facing REAL law now...and believe me, he will NOT make a circus in Nevada the way he did in lalaland...it's a whole new ballgame, called REALITY.

At least this one on oj will proceed without the circus clowns called lawyers of the past...the SOB was guilty as hell then and he got away with it because the minorities on the jury refused to convict "no matter what" (in ones words), and his fate doesn't look good on this one either, as his luck has run out now...he played the game of traffic and now he faces the fact his luck has run out:

Karma has run over his dogma

As for this jihadist clown, I have no mercy whatsoever for them...none, as evil has no excuse.

come on, Ruebecca, different needs? What? To uphold his islamic dignity by killing as many of us infidels as he can? The problem is we haven't imposed, by force, enough of our values on guys like this. I think they should be sent back to dar-al-islam, all of them....Maybe you were just kidding.

Perhaps the Dutch should take note of what their kinsmen, the Swiss, are doing. Him and his family will be immediatly deported.

Why does Samir Azzouz's god make important and take so much glee in the murder of infidels by Samir? Moslems like Samir remind me of the Son of Sam guy who murdered people because his dog told him to do so. Anyone who professes allegiance to allah's war against the infidel must be carefully assessed to be incarcerated or institutionalized as mentally unbalanced but in either case under lock and key.

I think you have it. Suggest to him to challenge the Boy David for the leadership of the Conservatives. He will win hands down.

@Pelayo

Yeah, I noticed that, too and I'm with you about the prosecution seeking appeals. That's as scary (almost) as Shariah.
