An update on this story, from the Associated Press:
A Swedish Muslim group on Tuesday said it plans to sue a local newspaper for publishing a drawing of the Prophet Muhammad with a dog's body. The Nerikes Allehanda newspaper in Orebro printed the cartoon made by artist Lars Vilks in an August 19 editorial that criticized Swedish art galleries for not displaying Vilks' art.
Mahmoud Aldebe, chairman of the Swedish Muslim Federation, said the group would sue the newspaper for inciting hatred against ethnic groups. "It ridicules our religion. This is discriminating and insulting... they want to see just how far they are able to go by pushing the boundaries of press freedom," he said.
All together now: Which ethnic group is Islam again? And for that matter, the paper has not at all overstepped the boundaries of Western freedom of the press -- boundaries which should not be moved to give Islam any special status.

Sue for this and that rather than suing the jihadists in their midst for whom they are obviously accessory to, rather than rooting our extremism and reporting it. No, they would rather sue or lay a barrage of complaints against infidels all over the world. Apparently, that's much more important.

I would laugh but I see it coming. Bartenders can be sued for serving someone who drives intoxicated. So why not?
I hope they fight back, infiltrate their mosques and madrassas, and get their items that have cartoons of Jews and others that depict people as pigs, etc.
I hope that the Swedes have had enough sense to infiltrate the muslim's military bases, oh er I mean mosques and madrassas, by now.

I love the chameleon-like qualities that Islam has-it can transform itself into a race, a religion, an ethnic group-anything a person needs it to be in a given momemt. So many things to so many people-I myself consider it a cult. No wonder it's so misunderstood.
chameleon is an apt term for Islam. It truly is whatever it wants to be at any given moment. A religion, a race, a culture, a victim, an aggressor, a poliitcal group, etc.
Islamists use the tactic of discrimination lawsuits and "hate speech" accusations to defend their indefensible belief system and legitimize themselves as members of a religion that is being wronged.
Mr. Spencer is to be applauded for trying to engage these people in a discussion of exactly what being a muslim entails, and it's nearly impossible without getting a litany of hateful lies.
It's not about the pope, a palestinian homeland,Israel, or any of the endless red herrings they toss out. It is about a belief system that would collapse under it own weight if the truth could be told without cities burnings and people dying.
These muslims can stand around and make direct threats, we see them posted in the news and on blogs all the time like: "UK your 911 is on the way!", meanwhile the infidels stand back, take it, with no visits to the courts.

This was based on footage of a Serb concentration camp where Bosnians were murdered. As it turns out the maker of the film is being sued by a Serb survivor of what turns out to be footage of Serbs being murdered.

many of hte london cartoon protesters were arrested due to overwhelming public outrage and complaints to scotland yard. i actually wrote a letter to scotland yard and stated that this protest incited terror and racial hatred.
the uk police have to act upon ALL complaints especially when they relate to terrorism.

This whole Kosovo deal was always one huge lie. I know many Serbs who could not get the time of day from our government during that "war." Ethnic cleansing, genocide, yes, but the so-called victims were really the perpetrators.

Mohammed claimed that the Bible was corrupted so that he could say the Qu'ran was the final wordand the final judgement. Never mind that the Bible was put together by Jesus's disciples and the followers of those disciples within a span of 20 to 70 years after Jesus's resurrection. Mohammeds Qu'ran did not evolve for almost 200 years after his death and most of the Hadiths were simply made up over a thousand years.
Muslims, thank to CAIR and the like in other countries, are acting more and more like the KKK: going after every uppity infidel.
We must submit and know our place, after all. These Muslims may have only recently arrived, but they are members of the supreme religion and we are just uppity infidels.

leon I don't know about Washington, others here might. I am in Canada.
However, I do know there is a Muslim march in New York scheduled for September 9th and this includes terrorist supporters and those connected with certain 'shady' organizations. Go figure!

Mahmoud Aldebe is the guy who, last year, wrote to Sweden's parliamentary parties, demanding that a whole raft of special laws be introduced for Muslims in Sweden.

Among a long list of demands, he called for:

and, bizarrely, an end to basements, because, apparently, "many young Muslims are loathe to participate in activities in such underground facilities, often hinting at the problems caused by the local environment such as poor air quality in basements that often lack proper ventilation. Many get sick from underground facilities or bicycle sheds".
That's a new one.
Thankfully the Swedish Govt told him to go to hell and take his camel with him.

I'm glad you can resist hating islam, because I can't! I hate it more every day. Sometimes I cannot speak about it without becoming literally enraged and shaking with fury. I wish I could be as cool, calm, and dignified as Mr. Spencer when he talks about islam, but I get so angry I can't see straight! So I just shut up and silently fume because a strident, emotional approach to any controversial issue does more harm than good.

I agree Jerry, islam should be ridiculed at every opportunity because it is asinine. Every ridiculous ritual and rite should be held up and ridiculed for the superstitious, archaic hogwash it is and the last thing we should do is install footbaths, prayer rooms, or any other accomodation that makes it easier for muslims to adhere to islamic minutia. If they found it more difficult to drop everything to perform wudu, prayers, ablution, etc., maybe they would cease being mindless zombies and morph into human beings. Hell, maybe they would even discover the concepts of free will and independent thought. Wouldn't that be miraculous? Islam's influence today, yesterday, and tomorrow is ENTIRELY negative.

Careful what you say, dislike or contempt would be a better word, do not forget that the Religious Hatred Bill 2006 becomes law on October 1st this year. Punishment will then be at the discretion of the Attorney General, and we know how political that position is. He has just refused to bring some muslims who staged a riot in Belmarsh prison injuring a couple of warders before the courts on grevious bodily harm charges which would have got them 6 years extra sentences. There is cctv evidence and witnesses, it would have been an easy conviction, instead he has voted for internal prison discipline which will get them an extra 54 days on their sentence. You yourself were threatened if I remember correctly, about a month ago, a heavy handed Mr. Plod coming and taking away your computers for just complaining. In fact I wrote about that action on my Blogg HOLGER DANSKER, check it out if you have the time. I even sent an E-mail to you to give you moral support. Things are going to get very nasty in the next few years in Britain, and they are going to get a hell of a lot worse before they get better. If you want to do something useful join myself and many thousands more in Brussels on the 11th of this month to demonstrate against the Islamisation of Europe. If you do you will certainly find out that you are not alone. Channel your contempt, use it, in a months time hate is going to be a taboo word in Britain , and the mere mentioning of it his going to get you a long prison sentence. Hopefully I will see you in Brussels.

I'm with you. Sometimes I'll be reading JW, DW or other sites and I get so angry and frustrated I feel I am going to choke on the rage and hatred I feel. Then I feel horrible for allowing islam to get me so worked up!
Some days I feel like a nazi myself, then I get even crazier because I hate the way my anger makes me feel. I was raised with Christian values, I try to live my life treating others as I would like to be treated. I never wanted to hate anyone.
My husband told me I "go on about it" so I seldom talk to him about the threat of islam any more. He feels that it's all happening on the other side of the world, who cares what happens in Iran or Iraq or Afghanistan? What he fails to perceive, like so many others, is the threat islam poses to us here in North America. Maybe the end of our civiliation won't come in our lifetimes, or even our children's lifetimes but it will come if we don't do something to stop the creeping cancer of islam.
And yes, we should ridicule islam at every opportunity. It makes muslims crazy and they prove over and over how backward and contemptible they are.
The march on September 11 in Brussels is a first step toward taking back freedom of speech and freedom of assembly for Belgians and Europeans. But, since most people will not be attending this march, the brilliant minds on this site (of which I do not presume membership) should devise a way in which we can show solidarity with the Brussels' demonstration.
We should devise a passive show of support; something which doesn't require people to find large groups of others where such groups have not already organized. Something like wearing T-shirts with the word "Mo" with a circle and slash across it would be simple and inexpensive. I am sure the geniuses on this site can come up with something much better, and I hope my post spurs some action and thought in this vein.
In the alternative, a flier with a list of the offenses of the Islamists around the globe against human dignity, human freedom, equal rights, free speech, etc. should be drawn up and posted on this site (or other site accessible to the entire planet). Post this document where people can print it out and run it off their home printers or take it to a copy shop and make a hundred copies. Then, hand them out on a street corner, in a parking lot, gas station or other place with lots of foot traffic. You're adding steam to the cause and being anonymous at the same time.
It is important that all people committed to human rights and human dignity show support for the Brussels group on Sept. 11. We should all be reminded that the victims of 9/11 were average Americans whose lives were taken by people who have no conscience and no respect for human life.

Perhaps a well written letter posted on this site with the email address of every person in Europe AND the US who it should be sent to. lets FLOOD them, Every elected official in euorope ant the US, as well as Canada. Make it a worldwide rather than national thing.
If one of you wordsmiths on this site who are more eloquent than me could produce such a letter, and every one who desires could send it.
Just a thought, but if you produce said letter I promise to send it to EVERY MEMBER of congress and the senate, as well as the elected reps of the EU.
I would however like a list or website listing the appropiate EU members.
Sorry bout the double post, just wanted to add that if afore mentioned idea bears fruit, please post on other tracks here, or perhaps Mr.Spencer or Hugh will set aside a space for this.

They tried suing in Denmark and it didn't work. I doubt it'll work in Sweden.
If the aforementioned idea bears no fruit, I will be reading Mr. Spencer's Koran Blog and Islam 101 and culling quotations for my flier (pamphlet or circular as the fathers of liberty deigned them)for my own paper flood of anti-jihad on September 11th. I'd hate to have to go buy a Quarrel-On just to quote the hate it spews.
