Dozens killed in two blasts near Bhutto's convoy in Pakistan

All too unsurprising news from CNN:

KARACHI, Pakistan (CNN) -- At least 35 people were killed Thursday night in two explosions that went off near a motorcade carrying former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, who returned to the country earlier in the day after eight years of self-imposed exile, police sources told CNN.
Bhutto and those with her were not hurt.
Her companions said she reached her destination safely.
"I can see body parts strewn all over the road," said CNN's Dan Rivers, at the scene. "There are dead bodies everywhere. ... It is a large-scale attack, by the looks of things."
Rivers said police told CNN they believe they found the body of a suicide bomber.
"We have no way of confirming that, but it has all the hallmarks of some sort of terrorist attack," River's told CNN's Wolf Blitzer.
Rivers said there was remarkably little security near the motorcade considering the sizable security risk Bhutto presents. Bhutto's return angered some sectors in Pakistan because she was a female head of state who is perceived as being aligned with the United States.
"We remarked on how lax security was around her," Rivers told Blitzer after the explosions. "We got within touching distance of her vehicle. There was no security around, nobody stopping vehicles getting close to [the motorcade]."
Video footage from the scene showed the street jammed with emergency vehicles, and injured victims writhing in the middle of the road.
CNN Producer Syed Mohsin Naqvi said the death toll is likely to rise, as he had seen more than 35 bodies in the aftermath of the blasts.

Death toll is already past 75, and the world media is already attempting to blame these explosive acts of Islamic piety on "American Foreign Policy."

"We have no way of confirming that, but it has all the hallmarks of some sort of terrorist attack," River's told CNN's Wolf Blitzer.

Nooo, really?

How much this Rivers fellow get paid for this brilliant observation? Can I have his job please?

correction -- this report has it at over 115 killed -- and the photos are HORRENDOUS.

"She [Bhutto] was unhurt and has been taken to her house in the city but at least 115 people were killed and over 100 others wounded."

http://news.sky.com/skynews/article/0,,70131-1288892,00.html?f=rss

Does this surprise anyone?

I would find it more newsworthy if Bhutto had been welcomed back to Pakistan peacefully.

Exploding muhammadans aren't news. They taught us in journalism class that when a dog bites a man it isn't news.

Now, if a man were to bite a dog or a muhammadan tolerate someone with a different outlook on life, THAT WOULD BE NEWSWORTHY!

Another positive contribution to the world from the RoP.. another 100+ Muslims killed by their own.

They really ought to be allowed to run Pakistan - shouldn't they?

One helluva "internal spiritual struggle" there...
brought to us by the ROP.

PS- sorry, Hermit, you must first learn to salute strongarm to qualify for that job.

Politics in Islam as usual. Just blow everybody up. The innocent civilians are apparently of little consequence.

Just imagine how these rabid dogs would consider innocent civilians and having nukes at the same time.

Un:dhimmi:

The sad reality though is that while most of the victims are probably at least nominal Muslims, many in that crowd would have Bhutto supporters, and therefore not the kind of Muslims that should concern us, at least not in the most immediate sense.

I think the most appropriate response to this horrendous crime for us antijihadists is one of sympathy for the victims. There's nothing for us to gloat about here.

Assalamau Laikum all,

Anwer's Auntiee lives in Karachi and I have been on the phone to hear her views. She was to go & support Benizar to wave flags on the road...but during the day I had persuaded not to....and now she is grateful.

It seems that there were two explosions...one to disable the lorry and a much bigger explosion to take her out.

The explosions seem to have made use of ball bearings to make them more effective...and it seems that more than 100 persons have been made to meet Allaha SWT a little earlier than they had planned.

Young & old have been cut in the prime of thier life...Benazir is going to find it hard to carry her message of electioneering if peoples cannot see her.

Abazi, Jinnah and Liakat National hospitals have been used to look after the injured & the dead, the local scene looks a bit like a war zone ...but it still looks like there is still a lot of peoples on the streets...looking to vent their frustrations....police are trying their best to keep the peace.

It seems that Benazir escaped without problems...but It will be interesting to see if she will show herself openly in the following few day. Benazir should have never come back....the whole country will face hard times in the coming days.

Incidentially, there may well be some charities set up to help the dead and injured ...please donate generously.

I have a case of SPAM to send over.

Woops. I said "... many in that crowd would have Bhutto supporters".

"... would have been..." rather.

please donate generously.

Says Naseem from the comfort of her Western home.

The US taxpayer coughs up enough for the Pakistani simian circus...

No thanks.

Assalamau Laikum Aiken,

A correction...if you please...I am not sitting in the comfort of my Western home...I am sitting in the comfort of my home in Lahore ..Pakistan.

Sure, whatever you say Naseem.

which 'hore, pakistan?

What a welcome, nice Al-qaeda homecoming....

But as usual the Ding bats on the Democrats are starting to blame Bush for this, and I'm sure Jews and Christians were also involved, cause Muslims would never do something like this.

AmericanTiger,
sounds like you came even closer than I & my family did...beat me by 48hrs.

Nasseem posted:The explosions seem to have made use of ball bearings to make them more effective...and it seems that more than 100 persons have been made to meet Allaha SWT a little earlier than they had planned.

Who had planned? If it was allah's plan then they couldnt "have been made to meet Allaha.."

Anyway, from the faint irony in your post, I gather that you dont think much of Islam. Hopefully more Muslims will begin to see that Islam is no good in words or deeds.

Assalamau Laikum American Tiger,

Why would you want me there in person....what have I personally done to you! Surely you want me to talk to you again.

Also there is raw suggestion on your part that that somehow the peoples who died on 9/11 were more important than the Pak Karachi peoples who died today.

Surely you cannot mean this....all humans are the same in Allah's SWT eyes...it is just that you were corrupted at an early age....and now you don't believe...that's a failing on your part sure...but I would wish no harm on you surely you should reciprocate. It is now 3.51 am here.....let's hope you come to your senses by dawn.

No Naseem, you were corrupted by that filthy faith called Islam.

The fact that you call a pedophile, and murderer, and rapist and thief, a prophet, shows that your brain has been thoroughly corrupted by Islam!

*sigh*

Does this ever end?

Naseem:

I am not happy about this any more than you are but you really have some nerve asking us to donate our hard earned money and resources, the fruit of our "corrupt", "decadent", "Godless" society, to help these victims.

You people can damned well start accepting responsibility yourselves for the results of the wretched belief system of your obscene religious of death and carnage, since you cling to it so tenaciously. Look after the victims yourself, and tell the millions of Al Qaeda supporters in Pakistan to do the same.

I grieve for the victims as well, but my support will consist of my prayers to the All-Holy Trinity for the forgiveness of their sins and for the conversion of you and your countrymen to Christianity or any other decent faith or belief that doesn't require its followers to murder one another and everyone else. You and your fellow Pakistanis may be the victims, but the entire Ummah, with few exceptions, are, in some measure or degree, and with precious few exceptions, to blame.

Figure it out yourself.

To hell with your demand for Jizya, and to hell with Islam!

Naseem says,

It is now 3.51 am here...

Don't you mean 12.03 am, or there abouts?

Naseem,

The most damned funny thing about all your visits here is that you assume your god to be real despite the FACT that you have only FAITH.

Exactly why should you or sharia pushers like you be taken seriously considering you have absolutely no proof?

Shoo!

Templar

My post was dripping in irony and I'm sorry you may not have seen that. I have no wish to gloat over dead Muslims.

I just wish it were more widely understood that their killers are overwhelmingly also their co-religionists.

Regards
U:d

Oh and Templar... don't feed the 'Naseem' troll - it thrives on the fact that we are decent human beings and not rabid fascists.

It lives to make your blood boil.

Un:dhimmi:

With the benefit of hindsight I can see the irony and regret reacting before thinking it through more carefully.

I certainly agree with your sentiments about the internecene violence among Muslims.

Thanks for your reply. Take care.

"All humans are the same in Allah's eyes."

That's a total lie. Allah hates "Infidels" - Jews and Christians. Throughout the Q "Allah" commands the annihilation of Jews and Christians if they don't convert. As we all know - how academic.

"When ye encounter the Infidels, strike off their heads till ye have made a great slaughter among them, and of the rest make fast the fetters." (67:3).

UH HUH - "ALLAH'S THE SAME IN EVERYONE'S EYES"!!!!

Taqiyya - Taqiyya - Taqiyya - Taqiyya -Taqiyya (etc)

Do you think she really believes her obvious lies?

Also, how is Bhutto supposed to control a country filled with raving madmen? It's impossible.

Oh yeah - the Paks need to help themselves. End of story. No more help from the "corrupt" West.

OTP but apparently there will be a verdict given on the Holy Land Foundation case on Monday morning at 10 am CST.

Frankly, I don't think Bhutto is the one to govern Pakistan. Pakistan needs a Communist regime, the kind that get's down to the grass roots of society and roots out its opponents, that couldn't care less about Allah and would round up and shoot every Imam in the country, would arrest every women wearing a Burka for anti-socialist activities and send them off to a reeducation camp to learn correct socialist behavior, would ban Korans, and close down every Madrassa in the country, requiring children to learn history, math and the sciences.

Think that's harsh? take a look at the paradise the Taliban created in Afghanistan. Unless something drastic is done in Pakistan, we'll see the same Paradise in that country, and they'll have nuclear weapons to boot.

I think we could live very nicely with a Communist regime in Pakistan. At least Communist know the consequences of nuclear war, and 72 virgins and pearly young boys aren't anywhere in the equation.

If not the Communist, anyone with a killer instinct greater than the Islamic religious establishments would do.

Do not read into this. I think some Muslims spontaneously combust

I was wondering if by some miracle that the supposedly anti-Black threats on the east coast are really aimed at Mo's crowd. This is regarding the nooses with tarred figurines attached. Just a thought...I would like to think that Americans are through fighting other Americans and will finally put their energies into combating the real enemy.

darcy, templar

The US, Britain and the EU donate tens of billions of our hard earned and worked for money to Pakistan, and to the demented lunatics, generously known as Palistinians.

So whatever Christian charity some might show in this ongoing tragedy of Pakistan, will be a drop in the ocean of Jizya that we have already passed over.

Naseem: I wonder if you have any comprehension to the effect that Pakistan would be infinitely better off (and infinitely less likely to suffer tragedies like this one of today) if only the vast majority of Pakistanis were Presbyterian or Buddhist or Catholic or Zoroastrian or Taoist or Methodist or........... Do you get my drift?

Naseem,

You would be more welcome here if you use the correct spelling: "America".

Are you trying to be insulting? You come off looking smarmy and ignorant.

truculent popinjays always do...lol

Rivers said there was remarkably little security near the motorcade considering the sizable security risk Bhutto presents. Bhutto's return angered some sectors in Pakistan because she was a female head of state who is perceived as being aligned with the United States.

"We remarked on how lax security was around her," Rivers told Blitzer after the explosions. "We got within touching distance of her vehicle. There was no security around, nobody stopping vehicles getting close to [the motorcade]."

We should send in the NYU team to investigate; perhaps they will determine that nothing happened because the bombers are dead?

The security was lax because ... why?

It seems that Benazir escaped without problems...but It will be interesting to see if she will show herself openly in the following few day. Benazir should have never come back....the whole country will face hard times in the coming days.

She didn't do this.

Incidentially, there may well be some charities set up to help the dead and injured ...please donate generously.

Where is the red cresent when you need them? Don't worry, the Christians will help you -- then you can behead them when everything is fixed.

Remember Naseem,

Suicide bombings are justifiable 'in defense of Islam'.

Some of your cohorts decided that killing a hundred or so other Muslims was justified in their attempt to kill Ms. Bhutto; you know, in defense' of your faith. Pretty straighforward.

You didn't get the memo?

Aren't "collateral damage" Muslims killed in jihad attacks supposed to go straight to Muslim paradise, along with the jihadi?

In that case, Naseem, you should be happy for those people, rather than calling them victims or asking for money (for what, they're already dead). As for the injured, as demonstrated above, it's better for their souls if they die of their injuries, so why send money for medical supplies to help them recover? Even if they were "cut down in the prime of their life", what meaning does the prime of life on Earth have compared to being in Muslim paradise?

Or maybe you're just a hypocrite with no faith. That's how it looks to me.

Now are you starting to see just how anti-human the whole Islamic edifice is?

Now are you starting to see just how anti-human the whole Islamic edifice is? Well, except for those humans who benefit from the whole thing, the ayatollahs and the imams and the sheiks. No wonder they love Islam. It beats working for a living.

Welcome home...
Allah swt really knows how to throw a party. Everything go's off with a big bang.

Naseem, I think Venividivici has a point, That you should be happy that those dead muslims get to meet Allah a little sooner than expected.
Blowing these people up is a great kindness on the part of the bomber. Anwers auntie should be upset that you talked her out of going. She had a perfect chance to meet Allah, and you convinced her not to go. You owe her big time, Naseem. The next time she has a chance to meet Allah, you are obligated to help her. It's only being kind...

Incidentially, there may well be some charities set up to help the dead and injured ...please donate generously.

Naseem:

I've already paid my taxes, thank you. My govt has sent more than enough to Pakistan. I see no need to throw good money after bad. And what will it do? Help the Taliban? Why does Pakistan still support killers?

If you want people to donate generously, how about hitting up Saudi Arabia and the rest of OPEC? With the price of oil over $80 per barrel, they're swimming in cash. Call Riyadh or Tehran.

Pakistan at the brink of civil war; Turkey with an Islamic govt and threatening to move on the Kurds; Russia cozying up to the mullahs in Iran; N. Korea outsourcing its nuclear agenda to Syria; half of the privileged West hates itself...

Anyone see where this is going? When it comes down it ain't gonna be a dress rehearsal. Guns, land, friends will be your starting point.

Here's a decent place to start preparing: http://www.ready.gov/

Anybody with further or better resources, please share. For instance, what is the best thing to do with your invested funds in an emergency?

The carnage is appalling--sounds as if it's comparable to the Madrid bombings. The first victims of "a more Islamic Islam" are invariably Muslim, and I hear from the news that minority Christians and Hindus also came out to welcome Benazir Bhutto, so I assume some of these were also victims.

As for our friend Naseem, I understand that he (she?) belongs to the Ahmadiyyah sect, which are persecuted as heretics; I think they're pacifistic. [Do correct me if I'm misinformed.]

Naseem-

How about you take a break from the Jihad Watch Jihad. Go out and get an extra Job and earn the money for the Victums yourself. We are all getting tired of paying to pick up the peaces of your collectively disturbed life.

From the CNN story above:

"Bhutto's return angered some sectors in Pakistan because she was a female head of state..."

Gee, I wonder what "sectors" might be involved?

More Mohammedans forced onto the booming Paradise Express.

Better have a crack team of Special Ops people ready to snatch those nukes, ASAP.

The West's letting such demented children play with the atom is even crazier than they are.

Welcome back home to Pakistan???

More Muslims forced onto the booming Paradise Express.

(Some needing a shovel to get all of them onboard.)

Islam: its numbers are exploding.

Ya' reckon?

LOL. Naseem my friend, always a joy to have you here, nice to get another opinion to spark the debate.

For everyone else, Naseem loves to come on here and stir things up. And I think you'll find Naseem is a man not a woman, he uses the term :-

"It seems that there were two explosions...one to disable the lorry and a much bigger explosion to take her out."

Take her out? That's a man. But I digress.

Naseem you are always welcome here, what you see as annoying and angering people with your thinly disguised hatred I see as getting the debate underway. The irony is that if you had your way there would be no debate, on anything.

Time to turn away from Jihad and rediscover ijtihad, something that is sadly missing from "modern" islam as you know.

JohnAdams, I breezed through ready.gov and thought it was just another run of the mill site about preparedness, juat like all the rest, and just like all the rest they fail to recognize that weapons will be needed. They especially don't have the guts to recommend a firearm. I recommend a pump action shotgun.

With ammunition, of course.

Pelayo:
Any other resources you'd recommend for basic survival preparedness? People should realize that there are many scenarios that can make at least a temporary disruption of basic supplies (food, water, cash) easily imaginable. A suitcase or dirty bomb in one large city could cause a chain reaction that could quickly lead to panic and disruption in many other places.

The sky isn't falling--yet--but it can't hurt to be prepared in case it does. And yeah, two years ago I would have thought this was crazy talk too...

"In the Name of Allah

Why terrorists do what they do... in their own words.

Since we started keeping track of Islamic terror, there have been Muslims and other detractors who occasionally contact us to insist that the attacks have nothing to do with Islam (at least the folks who don't attempt to justify the killing). To hear them tell it, the violence is all about money or crime, and they claim to have no idea of what the terrorists are thinking.

We strongly suspect that this ignorance (if sincere) is a matter of choice, since the terrorists are not at all shy about explaining their motives. These Jihadis not only credit their Islamic faith with the violence, but are also more prone to quote from the Qur'an than are their counterparts, who tend to rely on a tiny handful of favorites from the earlier days of Muhammad's career when claiming that terrorism is somehow "against Islam."

We have quoted a portion of the violent verses from the Qur'an and Hadith elsewhere. Here we just want to show that, as far as Islamic terrorists are concerned, their acts are done specifically in the name of Allah for the cause of Islam and Islamic rule... across the globe.

I find all those in the media professing shock, surprise, and indignation that the islamo-fascists of Pakistan would try to kill Bhutto rather disingenuous. Did anyone really think they would not try to kill her? She has openly declared her intention to work with America to track down Osama Bin Laden and to regain control of the tribal areas he uses as sanctuary. The fact that they tried to do it immediately upon her return to the country shows just how seriously they take this woman as threat. No islamist male wants to be in the position of being threatened by a secular woman! I wish her well in her endevours and hope that she succeeds. Long live Bhutto!

This Bhutto person is being billed as some kind of anti-Jihadist person pro-West even.
But she is a committed Muslim and islamist, and was instrumental in helping and supporting the Taliban take control of Afghanistan,as you all know Pakistan was one of the few countries which actually recognised the Taliban government.
She has made promises in the past and she never acted upon them.
