Good news in an update on this story. " Feds recommend closing Saudi school in Va.," by Matthew Barakat for the Associated Press:
McLEAN, Va. - A private Islamic school supported by the Saudi government should be shut down until the U.S. government can ensure the school is not fostering radical Islam, a federal panel recommends.
In a report released Thursday, the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom broadly criticized what it calls a lack of religious freedom in Saudi society and promotion of religious extremism at Saudi schools.
Particular criticism is leveled at the Islamic Saudi Academy, a private school serving nearly 1,000 students in grades K-12 at two campuses in northern Virginia's Fairfax County.
The commission's report says the academy hews closely to the curriculum used at Saudi schools, which they criticize for promoting hatred of and intolerance against Jews, Christians and Shiite Muslims.
"Significant concerns remain about whether what is being taught at the ISA promotes religious intolerance and may adversely affect the interests of the United States," the report states.
A past valedictorian of the ISA was implicated in a plot to assassinate President Bush in 2005.
The commission, a creation of Congress, has no power to implement policy on its own. Instead, it makes recommendations to other agencies.
The commission does not offer specific criticism of the academy's teachings beyond its concerns that it too closely mimics a typical Saudi education.
The report recommends that the State Department prevail on the Saudi government to shut the school down until the school's textbooks can be reviewed and procedures are put in place to ensure the school's independence form the Saudi Embassy.
Read it all.
...all Muslim schools in the USA should be immediately closed....
Or not even opened to begin with as with that school in NYC! I can't believe that the New Yorkers are ok with supporting that school while not supporting any other private school!! The Catholics have been able to theirs without government support - and gee, what would the New Yorkers do if the government started supporting the Catholic schools. I can hear the donkeys braying now!
Just wondering, why does the headline read "Saudi School" when it really is an Islamic school supported by the Saudi gov't?
Sorta like when we keep hearing about the Ottoman Turks in the news lately, why doens't the MSM refer to them as what they really were, muslims.
Where does the ACLU come down on this?
They do everything they can to wipe out Christian [anything] at schools. Will they support the Saudi "freedom of religion" and prevent the school's closing?
Wouldn't someone have to prevail on Virginia's education department to remove the license from the school, forcing anyone who wanted to obtain a HS diploma to find another school?
Stinkyinfidel,
Like the phrase Sunni, Shi'a and Kurd; as if the Kurds are Baptists.
"The report recommends that the State Department prevail on the Saudi government to shut the school down until the school's textbooks can be reviewed and procedures are put in place to ensure the school's independence form[sic] the Saudi Embassy."
What?
WHAT??????????
WTF?!!?!!!
We have to gain THE SAUDI GOVERNMENT'S acquiesance to shut it down?? We have to "prevail" upon them???
What the crap is this???????
Stinky ...
It's because it is the ISLAMIC SAUDI ACADEMY. At least that's what it's name WAS. It was launched as an Islamic academy for the children of Saudi embassy staff.
This school is NOT just another Islamic school. It's a Wahhabi school renowned for teaching hate screed having to do with Christians and Jews to FIRST GRADERS.
Here's a note from the past of this school. Notice the name of the school as it was when Abu Ali, convicted of plotting to assassinate Bush, was a star pupil.
QUOTING:
Homegrown Jihadi Abu Ali planned to kill Bush and set up Al Qaeda cell in US - father works in Saudi Embassy
October 13, 2005
MIM: The Virginia born Abu Ali, a 'valedictorian' at the Islamic Saudi Academy, which was raided by law enforcement in a terrorism probe, went on to continue his 'studies' in Saudi Arabia, where he was recruited by Al Qaeda to set up a cell America. His father's employment at the Saudi Embassy, which appears to be crucial to the case, received scant attention in the mainstream media. As Dr. Daniel Pipes pointed out when he asked the question
"...Are the Saudis Diddling the Americans?
The Ahmed Omar Abu Ali case has many intricacies, but what stops me short is reading this sentence by Michael Isikoff in Newsweek:
Abu Ali's Virginia-based parents—his father works as a computer analyst for the Saudi Embassy—say their son was tortured [while kept in a Saudi jail] into confessing to lies, and sued the federal government last year [to have him brought back to the United States].
Not only that, but the parents are utterly venomous on the subject of Saudi Arabia: His father, Omar, said, "The Saudi government are slaves of the Americans."His mother, Faten, stated outside a federal courtroom that her son "was tortured on orders of the USA; they are monsters."
Excuse me, but what is going on? Since when does an employee of the Saudi embassy publicly abominate the monarchy and turn to the U.S. government for redress? Is there something more here than meets the eye? (February 27, 2005) http://www.danielpipes.org/blog/411
MIM: Wahhabist funded Islamist groups in the US, such as CAIR and MAS, are rallying to the support of Abu Ali, claiming him 'as one of their own'.
The Abu Ali case is a textbook study of how homegrown Jihadi's with insider's knowledge of America, will be the new generation of Al Qaeda in America. Which begs the question as to why the school in which Abu Ali as a star student, that was termed a 'part of Saudi Arabia'by Dr. Daniel Pipes, has still not been closed down. "...In the tape publicly shown for the first time, Abu Ali said that when an al-Qaida operative suggested bringing violent jihad to America, "I immediately accepted because of my hatred of America."
He said the men discussed either mounting a major martyrdom operation or starting a sleeper cell by blending into American society and marrying an American woman.
When the al-Qaida operative, Sultan al-Qahti, inquired about potential targets where large numbers of Americans gathered, Abu Ali said he suggested stadiums or amusement parks. Abu Ali also described receiving training in weapons, explosives and forging documents..."
MIM: The crucial question still remains to be asked, and answered, as to what role Abu Ali's father played in the Bush assassination plot or the plans to set up an Al Qaeda cell in America.
Ali's father Omar, who is employed as a computer analyst for the Saudi embassy, has publicly expressed his hatred for the the Saudi government, a sentiment shared with Al Qaeda.
Concerned Citizen...
How bad is his? Prince Bandar bin Sultan (who likely shot Vince Foster in the Saudi Embassy and then had his body moved ... no kidding) used to have open access to the Cabinet meetings, walk into the White House unannounced and walk into Cabinet meetings drunk. His behavior got so bad the US demanded he be removed. That's when Mr. Creepy, Turki al-Faisal, took over. He's no better, except he's not an alcoholic.
There is an anti-Saudi rally at the Embassy in Washington on Monday (it's right across the street from the Kennedy Center, as if any other country could afford the spot). If anybody's in the area, please go if you can.
See Schwartz in the NYPost today for details.
Why close it? Keep detailed records of every student and faculty member. Follow their every move for the rest of their lives. Define their association with the school as "probable cause" for seditious activity, and get warrants. Each of these people is like an iodine tablet to be used for gathering information about the rest of the subversives.
Let a thousand flowers bloom! (in the Maoist sense)
When did McLean Virginia, whatever county it is located in, even the State of Virginia fall under the jurisdiction of the US Department of State?!
How about the people of McLean, county and State of Virginia exercise their consitutional rights and boot the wahhabists-bin-ladenites saudis out of their own accord?! Why does any locality have to bow to an illegal situation perpetrated upon it by rogue elements in the Federal Government?! Unless the locale is dominated by "liberals" and apologists for "the religion of peace" and other assorted persons suffering delusions and suicidal tendencies...? Even if such "run the show" there - the majority of the populace and surrounding areas -no doubt- do not want the anti-Western, anti-USA, wahhabists in their neighborhoods. Time for "We the People" to stand up for what is right! Give the school (and all like-minded organizations/individulas)the boot! The "Feds" will never consider what is good for the average citizens - even though it is from these that they enjoy any and all privileges of their temporary authority.
Hyman ...
What does it mean ... Let the flowers bloom (in the Maoist sense)
A good idea.
An even better idea: kick all those Muslim students who joyously jubilated on 9/11 in the public high school in Fairfax, VA, out of the school and out of the country, along with their entire families. Stop letting any more Muslims into this country, from anywhere. This is something I, a Muslim, have been calling for years now.

Well, looks like same old same old PC BS...
First we have to do a study on the study itself, to determine the feasibility of the study's conclusions (the FBI says "you are here"), then it's up to the judicial activi...errrr, judges to determine if a study should be done to study the feraibility study to determine if the "victi..." errr, subjects in question should be considered for consideration for consideration to be arrested, or thrown in jail (after a study upon the study by the ACLU meets quota), brought to trial, or quietly deported (requiring congressional intervention because someone inadvertantly stepped on or knocked over some crap he calls a holy book, requiring law enforcement to go back to square one and start all over, letting said person in question know he's being watched, just to make it fair)...
brought to you by lack of the original Patriot Act (putting leftist schiester lawyers like lynne stewart out of business, which the aclu won't have). John Conyers & your tax dollars hard at *ahem* "work"!
PA, it would've been...
1) suspect looks, quacks, $hltz like a duck,
2) conclusion, it's a duck (all in 15 minutes)
3) subject arrested (timespan-1 hour)
4) hearing (daring to check immigration status!) (D+24)
5) decision- deportation or detention decision (D+24h15m)
Bing, bang,...done.
Your tax dollars at work, defending the indefensible since the aclu was founded (yes, they DO get federal tax dollars...cut 'em off, NOW!)
Otherwise,
we get what we tolerate & deserve what we get because of it.
Close it and stop the ideology. The ideology is doing too much damage.
Will this committee inform the public and authorities as to how many death threats they will/are/have now gotten?
Where is the press release from CAIR condemning this committee for vilating muslims rights and being Islamophobic? When will this committee be required to recieve 'sensativity' training from CAIR?
Close the school now, don't let the damage continue by indoctrination. Those they indoctrinate today, we will fight tomorrow.
There has only been 154 terror related convictions by our goverment since 9/11. Don't think the feds will succeed in prosecutions.

I just noticed that YouTube's most discussed video of all time is the Wafa Sultan MEMRI clip -- 191,822 comments.
More comments for Wafa than Britney and American Idol: I never would have believed it.
FINALLY! The Bush Administration shows signs of intelligent life!
Whoda thunk it?
HOWEVER--don't get excited yet. They still haven't closed it. And there's plenty of other Muslim schools in operation in the US that should also have been closed yesterday for the exact same reasons.
Let a thousand flowers bloom
Meaning
Encourage many ideas from many sources.
Origin
Let a thousand flowers bloom is a common misquotation of Chairman Mao Zedong's "Let a hundred flowers bloom; let a hundred schools of thought contend". This slogan was used during the period of approximately six weeks in the summer of 1957 when the Chinese intelligentsia were invited to criticize the political system then obtaining in Communist China.
It is sometimes suggested that the initiative was a deliberate attempt to flush out dissidents by encouraging them to show themselves as critical of the regime. Whether or not it was a deliberate trap isn't clear but it is the case that many of those who put forward views that were unwelcome to Mao were executed.
alaskan,
you win the cookie...it's about ideology.
It would be nice to get back to practicality...but the PC won't have any of that-lest they cease to exist. Their mortal enemy is common sense.
Whatever we do, do NOT become detached from it-it's what they want us to do (leaving them in complete control)-it's why they pound us with psychobabble like this insanity- they purged common sense because political correectness (ideology) cannot coexist with common sense. Common sense CAN exist without PC.
deesine,
it only goes to show, maybe there IS some hope for humankind after all.
This war is lost on our land.
Within a generation, every major US city will have the mosques' call to prayer as it is in Detroit.
It's over.
deesine:
That Wafa Sultan video is a true beat down!
Proof that there is hope for a Muslim coming to his/her senses.
All members of Congress should be required to see it.
IF it is indeed closed, you can say two things:
1.) At least it's a start.
2.) It may set a legal precedent for closing other dens of treason as well.
Personally, I'll beleive it when I see it.
The "kingdom" owns about 3/4 of the U.S. Congress and the Bush asministration as its own private kennel of bitches.

Atheling, if you want to be a registered depression, well, all right, go ahead.
But why don't you stop being such pessimist and get out there and do something.
If you think it's that lost, then maybe you should join the CIA and gather intel or go undercover in Saudi Arabia.
Something, anything, gutsy instead of whiney.
Our forebearance / patience can be noble and wonderful traits -- except when they are not.
Think of the exact inverse of this scenario -- A fascist school is set up in a Muslim dominion -- financed by shady and sinister and hidden players -- the 'academy' is filled with over 1,000 transplanted minions of the West, minions who are inculcated with the most vicious hatred of all Muslims, minions who are brainwashed by their hatred spewing 'teachers' and 'religious high priests' for a zealous murderous determination to annihilate that Muslim nation and subject her people to fascist domination and replace all of their Islamic laws with antithetical laws of external design --
Think of it. Not a single head would remain on a single set of shoulders. Tongues would have long ago been pulled from mouths with pliers. Eyes would have been gouged out. Genitals would have been mutilated and fed back to the 'students' and 'faculty' of this satanic school.
Of course I cannot imagine the West ever funding or installing any such 'academy' in the Muslim world -- it could never happen, and never should happen.
Yet the Muslims have done exactly that -- THEY have installed not one, but virtually thousands of such academies in the West -- at them they regularly inculcate Islamic supremacy among their students -- they instill a hatred and contempt for non-Islamic things right in the midst of our non-Islamic West -- they teach their children to despise us -- and if possible to think of ways to subvert us -- our laws -- to convert us to Islam - or to subjugate us under Islam -- and failing that -- to annihilate us in honor of Islam.
And our Fed 'recommends" closing this Saudi funded academy of hatred in Virginia...
The thing should be bulldozed. The 'students' who attended should be expelled from the country immediately. The 'teachers' of hatred should be hauled up on charges of treason, and if found guilty, they should be shot. The funders should be rounded up, hunted down, incarcerated, expelled, or also hauled in on charges of treason and sedition against the U.S.A.
We should be long past "recommending" by now.
"It's over"
atheling ;
Not even close. Most still don't know what is really going on, although signs point to more waking up faster.
We that know, more than those who are still in dreamland, need everyone to fight and stay active till we speak as one nation, one voice. We need everyone who is awake to the threat to help spread the word, get others involved, keep up the fight for truth.
Don't give up, we need you.

Bhutto returns to Pakistan and welcomed with a blast
KARACHI, Pakistan - Two bombs went off Thursday night near a truck carrying former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto on her triumphant return to Pakistan after eight years in exile, killing at least 51 people and wounding 150, an official said. Party workers and police said Bhutto was unhurt.

Yes, of course it was a deliberate act on the part of Mao to get his opponents to publicly self-identify as such. A reasonable person can't make another conclusion. Mao was nothing if not a complete cynic and reductionist as regards power: it all comes from the barrel of a gun.
To carry the flower metaphor further, once they bloom they are ready for harvest.
In Mao's case, there was only brute force involved. No due process, no rule of law. Just raw power.
In our case, as Americans, Westerners, anti-Jidadis, we need to remember rule of law and due process. Nobody who wishes to implement sharia law in the United States should be here, and our laws need to reflect that.
Let a thousand flowers bloom--then, by law and carried out by legitimate enforcement agents of the state, try them, deport them if peaceful, imprison or kill them if engaged in or abetting violence.
Banning speech outright is a bad idea--from a pragmatic perspective--as it drives the speech underground where it cannot be as easily rebutted, and sympathy is garnered for the speech being banned. Our Founders believed this way.
I think a better role for the government is to remove seditious people from society (under rule of law) rather than try to dictate what private educational institutions teach their students.
The eventual closing of all seditious schools that preach the overthrow of the U.S. Constitution (AKA Islamic schools) begins with a single step.
This will be one.
May a thousand such steps commence.
Until this alien and intolerant ideology of tyranny and misogyny is sent back to fester in Mecca where it can be contained -until it implodes.

Those crazy pakistanis . . .they really know how to throw a welcome home party.
Does anyone have semi complete stats on how many muslims have been killed by other muslims in the last fives years compared to how many killed by infidels? I'm guessing it's way one sided in favor of muslims killing other muslims.

lol 'beard...
that's only half the problem...you'd them have to close most of public wackodemia, too!
lol
I had wondered for years what school that "ISA" school bus represented as it picked up and dropped off children in my neighborhood. I knew it was Islamic in nature, due to where it stopped, but that was the extent.
Thanks for the extra information, Morgaan Sinclair.
And atheling, it's not over. We must be willing to stand for our values, though. We must educate and enlighten. We must have hope.
...and a case of maple syrup, too.
lol
While what is happening at the school seems pretty mysterious and possible elicit does it really warrant shutting it down?
Maybe, maybe not. Rather than shutting down the school, it could be monitored by a third party. The part about killing Jews is a bit bothersome if it is true, but one of the things that makes America great is the freedom of speech. This is a freedom that is protected unless the speech being made is designed to cause "imminent lawless action."
Is this school causing "imminent lawless action" it is hard call, but it would be better to leave it open at the risk of indoctrinating students than closing a legitimate school, which only fuel more hatred for the USA, as well as start nasy precedent for closing schools.
There was a brouhaha about a Saudi run school in the UK last February, when a dismissed British teacher said that they were using textbooks that taught the children to regard Christians and Jews as apes and pigs.
The case was taken up by a nightly current affairs programme called Newsnight, which seemed to think that the stuff about apes and pigs was some sort of excess by textbook writers. After the broadcast they were informed by the blogging community that in fact the idea occurs in the Koran. The next night they brought in their Arabic expert who said that while this was indeed the case, there was also a lot of silly, blood-curdling stuff in the Bible as well, so that was alright.
Meanwhile the female head of the school stated that the text book was too useful to be discarded. As far as I know it all ended there.

for some reason the link about the London school above only gets you to the London Evening Standard site: if you type APES AND PIGS and NEWSNIGHT into their search engine you will get the link tp the article.
You know, I've had it with Jihad Watch.
With Marisol's bias (and dishonesty), and Hugh's condescension, I'm done with this place.
They allow the arrogance of Morgaan Sinclair to spew her garbage and insults, then when I respond, my comments get deleted.
Half the people here are RUDE; Naseem puts you folks to shame with her civility. I'd rather listen to her tripe all day long than sinclair's or some of the others here.
Adios. I'll not patronize this site, nor the books, nor the videos, nor will I participate here any longer.
And go ahead, Marisol, delete this. I don't care.
Atheling-- I'm a little unclear on where and how I've been dishonest. Or biased (toward or against what?).
As for the deleted posts, all we ask for is a modicum of civility. I thought your comments crossed that line in terms of the language used. That's why they were deleted. Nothing personal; just doing my job.
"The commission's report says the academy hews closely to the curriculum used at Saudi schools, which they criticize for promoting hatred of and intolerance against Jews, Christians and Shiite Muslims."
On principle I don't believe government should be regulating instructions in religious or private schools. If we allow government to punish schools for teaching "intollerance" and "hatred", it will only be a matter of time before religious schools can be charged with a crime for teaching intollerance and hatred for telling children that certain behaviour is sinful and contrary to God's laws. Why wouldn't teaching that Jesus is the only way to salvation be considered intollerant and hateful towards other religions?
If we go down this road in response to Islamic schools in Virginia, we're handing Islam a victory by allowing it to influence the way our society operates. Catholic, Baptist and Lutheran schools are not, and never have been, a danger to this country. They have educated generations of students to be good and loyal American citizens.
The solution to Islamic schools is to declare Islam a political, not a religious, institution, and therefore not entitled operate schools under protection of the first amendment, and then ban further Muslim immigration to this country.
atheling,
The bad day will end. Don't go.
Is this school causing "imminent lawless action" it is hard call, but it would be better to leave it open at the risk of indoctrinating students than closing a legitimate school, which only fuel more hatred for the USA, as well as start nasy precedent for closing schools.
Intelligent-thoughts,
Whether or not it is lawful to close this school under US law was discussed on FOX news by none other then Judge Napolitano. According to the judge, this school, due to it being founded by the Saudi embassy is subject to the same laws as "public" schools in the United States. The judge made the point that no public school can teach hatred of Christians and Jews and this particular school must meet that same standard. If the school is teaching hatred it violates the laws that apply to "public" schools in the US and can be shut down.
BTW-If hatred is already being taught in this school how can closing it lead to more hatred against the USA?
Islam promotes intolerance on a religious, cultural and political level.
This is not a debatable fact.
Our leaders seem to be incapable of coming to grips with this reality. In the USA no member of Congress should be able to claim ignorance of the true nature of Islam, not any longer.
Shorter term limits might be a good start towards fixing a very broken system and putting wiser people into office that actually are part of a broader spectrum of the USA. The current greedy, self-serving politicians seem best suited to seeing the world through rose-tinted glasses and making deals behind closed doors with lobbyists for political favors (among other things) and discounts at 5 star restaurants.
Never trust a well-tanned fat man that smiles too often.
I don't know what Atheling said to get deleted but I have to agree with him that sometimes we have to choose our words carefully here, like a bunch of dhimmis, or risk getting our posts deleted or worse, getting banned completely. My friend Elias comes to mind.
The Commission has no official power, but advises the State Department and the President, essentially saying what the former are unable to say openly.
Their annual report at:
http://www.uscirf.gov/countries/publications/currentreport/2007annualRpt.pdf#page=1
Saudi Arabia, was named as a CPC, country of particular concern, in 2004 and targeted by the State Department for action, but after a waiver of 180 days, the State Department continued the waiver explaining a dialogue on matters of concern was in play. The Commission, in its frustration, has issued a recommendation that the State Department report to Congress every 120 days on the progress of their discussions with the Saudis. Translation: Saudi cooperation is not forthcoming and the discussion is probably an exercise in futility.
The Commission's report is some 292 pages, but contains summaries on all countries of concern and is a good guide for understanding the intricacies of the religious makeup, differences and policies within countries.
Remember the matter of the asylum for Iraqi religious refugees? Yep, this Commission is a two-edged sword on the matter of religious freedom and tolerance. They act on behalf of religious refugees, opposing Homeland Security and advocating for non-discrimination (equal tolerance) of all religions.
Appendices on The International Religious Freedom Act of 1998, selected provisions and International Human Rights Standards, summary on Freedom of Thought, Conscience and Religion or Belief, pages 269 and 273, respectively.
For a quick look at Saudi Arabia, go to the section on Policy Focus.
"The report recommends that the State Department prevail on the Saudi government to shut the school down"
Where is the school located? In the US or in Saudi Arabia?
I thought the US was an independent country ...
Rational, you've hit a lot of nails on the head with your post. Welcome to the nightmare of Islam as a religion, instead of what you so intelligently point out, a polictical ideology that incites violence and advocates treason.
The current mantra of the State Department and the President seems to be pro religious tolerance and anti-religious intolerance. Their stance assumes that all religions are created equal and worship a divine and benevolent deity or source.
I'm sure that from a legal vantage this squares with The Constitution, and global political correctness, but, the evidence for Islam's tolerance is questionable, at best.
It isn't exactly telling the Saudis to keep their hands off our Whores and Booze and go home, But it is a start in the right direction.
Proves there is a God besides Allah.

I am inclined to agree with atheling, and as for waking up, I would say more and more are going to sleep.
The last year I have only seen three women wearing a Burqa, and I live in Indonesia, now that speeks volumes, as to the state of the west.
Shiva,
Unfortunately, I'm seeing them more and more where I live, and honestly, nothing ticks me off more than to see these hypocrites walk into my favorite shoe store with that head covering with the eye slits. Why is it okay for them to wear shoes with toe cleavage but not show their faces? Every time I see one of those chicks I read their message loud and clear...a big F.U. to all the American women who are NOT Muslim. (And who never will be!!!)
Too bad they don't know what I'm thinking. Too bad they don't know I'm helping Brigitte Gabriel start an ACT Chapter in my area.
Wow, and I thought I was doing good in MY area starting up a chapter:
Gungho United N'fidels (G.U.N.)
(/sarc)
j/k Isabelle...lol, best of luck with that.
My neck of the woods, it's kinda like the movie Gator.
"The problem with people is they can be easy, or they can be hard. This here (brandishing his shotgun pistol) makes'em...EeeeeZy"
...we don't need chapters of anything...for some odd reason, they get overwhelmed with dirty glaring looks, total silence,...and a pickup truck with a loaded gun rack in the cab seems a major "reinforcement" to them...and they know better, really fast.
When they know their every move is being watched, they seem to get the message:
"Don't even think about it!"
I love positive reinforcement lol
I wonder if Bush is even aware of this report?
I'm counting down the days until W is out of office.
atheling,
here's something that may brighten the day...

Yes, that's "berzerkely" they're talking about.
The real key here?
The masses that outnumbered the pseudo-"peace activists" aren't really as much "pro-war" (a commonly labelled term out here by the anti-American MSM, implying bloodthirsty savages who "enjoy watching soldiers get their heads blown off" as one militant moron put it), though many are, the locals just got sick & tired of so-called "peace activists" (who are, ironically, some of the most violent protestors in the country) who are known aiders & abettors of the enemy spewing their pahblum-knowing what they really are about, and what they really represent, which is anything BUT "peace"...IN BERZERKELY no less.
There is hope after all.
If it happened here, it can happen anywhere.

Ahh, Jcom972, my brother, I knew you'd start a chapter.
I understand your subtlety in motivating Muslims to knock their crap off but I think we need the chapters mainly to get the American masses involved. If there was some place to go or an event to attend it would be easier to strong arm my lazy relatives into participating, the ones who would rather quote the fictional plot lines of every night time TV show and then whine about the government and what's happening to our country and our kids' futures rather than getting off their butts and facing the reality that we have a big problem and we need to do something about it NOW. I admire Brigitte Gabriel so much; she is such a tough little spitfire but also a real girly-girl lady. If she can start a group that tells it like it is and the rest of us can follow suit I think we can make a true difference.
But I'm deadly serious about the shoe store thing. I stopped in my favorite store when I was in between appointments in July and here is this woman strutting around in her stupid get up which honestly, I think is extremely rude. Even though it was over 90 degrees outside, she was covered in a long, ugly, vertical striped robe with the full head covering and only her eyes showing. How are you supposed to make eye contact with something like that? (No worries on that subject because that Muslims woman had no intention of interacting with any of us infidels.) The point of the hypocrisy was that she had three young daughters; the eldest was probably about thirteen. These three girls were in jeans and t-shirts, running around the store. The eldest obviously had some breasts and I thought it was interesting that the mom was appearing to be "religious" while her kids looked like a bunch of westerners. If the mother was so committed to her religion, wouldn't those girls be modestly dressed, not in decadent, western clothing? I think she was making a political statement and I think her goal was to make every one else in this very large shoe warehouse uncomfortable.
In contrast, another Muslim woman came into the store about a quarter of an hour later, with her preteen daughter. The woman was impeccably dressed but wore the head scarf. Her daughter also wore the head scarf. Hmm, I guess there are salad bar Muslims just like there are some salad bar Christians. I wonder which one of those two women was following Islam correctly?
A last word to the former contributor to Jihad Watch known as Atheling:
I tried to debate you via e-mail about Thomas Aquinas. I found an exact translation of his "proofs." You provided your paraphrased version of the translation - I think Muslims would call it an interpretation. I'll miss ya, just like I miss not having acne.
lol Isabella,
Right on...only mine isn't just a chapter-more like an entire book (of sorts), but that's another forum.
lol
PS- your instincts are right, the ones in full length black are the ones you really need to watch more carefully-the history behind their full-length black garb, which is far more recent than their originators wish to admit (it means= "I'm a non-combatant ally-don't shoot me" in case a hit happens at any given time), is a really big clue, but that's another threasd entirely as well...
...all the best.
Jcom972,
Any chick who walks around my country in one of those get ups is making a statement alright, but she is also asking for it. I have not been rude or confrontational so far, but that time is coming.
Perhaps the best thing to do would be to ask this woman, when we are standing in line, how she is doing. Then I can move on to whether she is hot or not. Then I could ask her if she is promoting the Ummah. If this makes her uncomfortable, good. It's either we as Americans are uncomfortable while she wears her fugly in your face outfit or she can be uncomfortable as we draw attention to her ruse and make her tell us why she's doing it. Throwing in a well placed, "show me in the Koran where it says you have to wear that," and really make her squirm.
Hmmmm, she squirms or I squirm...let me think? Yeah, I'm liking this idea a lot. She may be able to dish it out but let's see if she can take it.
