KABUL, Afghanistan, Oct. 6 — A suicide car bomber detonated his device next to an American military convoy on the main road leading to the Kabul airport early Saturday, killing one American serviceman and at least four civilians, American and Afghan officials said.The attack, which came on the sixth anniversary of the American-led invasion in 2001, destroyed the soldier’s vehicle and wounded many people, officials and witnesses said.
“I heard a very big blast and I threw myself to the ground,” said Jamal, 22, who, like many Afghans, goes by only one name. “I then saw the vehicle in the air and it came down and hit another car.” One of the victims was a civilian riding a bike, he said.
A spokesman for the Taliban, Zabihullah Mujahid, said in a telephone interview that the insurgency was responsible for the bombing.
It was the third suicide attack in Kabul in eight days. The Taliban also claimed responsibility for those earlier attacks, which struck Afghan security forces and killed at least 42.

The media call it "an Iraqi-style suicide-bombing campaign in Afghanistan". It is. There was none during the bloody Soviet war that killed 1.5 million there. During the first year of the US war there, only a couple. This year, already nearly 140, with kamikazes "updating" this stat daily. The Taliban can't help but notice that this tactic works well with the US. In 1983, Hezbollah, on Khomeini's direct orders, blasted 241 US Marines to death in Beirut. Coward Reagan turned around and ran away. Only now some in the US are beginning to realize that that dramatic display of US cowardice was the single most important event in history boosting and empowering the Global Jihad against the US. Hezbollah had instantly earned the biggest "thug reputation" in Terror Internationale, earning glory and admiration among millions of anti-Americans in the world. It made a very strong impression on a certain Saudi Arab fan named Osama bin Laden, ironically, a beneficiary of Reagan's enormous aid at the time in the Afghanistan jihad. Bin Laden began sending his men to Hezbollah for training as early as 1991. According to Ali Mohamed, an Egyptian so-called "American", he organized the 1994 summit in Sudan between bin Laden and Imad Mugniyah, the Hezbollah master terrorist who did the Beirut blow-ups and all other murders of Americans. It led to an even greater coopertation between al-Qaida, Hezbollah and Iran. On May 28, 1998, bin Laden declared his 3rd major fatwa on ABC News to the Muslims worldwide to kill Americans, military and civilian, regardless of age or gender. With his weirdly amiable smile, he gleefully reminded ABC's John Miller that Hezbollah got away with many mass-murders of Americans, with the US running away from the fight. He said that he intends to follow Hezbollah example and commit even greater mass-murders of Americans to make them similarly flee his native Saudi Arabia. Indeed, Reagan, Bush I and Clinton chickened out, and chickened out, and chickened out of ever retalliating against Hezbollah and Iran. Clinton also failed to do his duty and assassinate bin Laden, wasing many opportunities to do so in 1999, even as he was bombing and destroying Serbia, murdering Serb civilians for terrorists. He also refused to retalliate for bin Laden's USS Cole bombing, kicking the can down the street to George W. Bush, who refused to pick it up. Baby Bush is not even nearly as bad as his Dad, but he, too, failed to take any action against Hezbollah and Iran whatsoever. Worse, he did not let Israel to finish the job on Hezbollah last year. Just as soon as the fighting started, Baby Bush panicked, or, as he himself put it, "got disturbed", bleating to Israel "not to hurt civilians". Rice than joined the French sleazebags in the UN and stopped Israel's war effort in its tracks, rescuing Hezbollah, a serial mass-murderer of Americans. A Hezbollah officer had recently candidly admitted that the UN cease-fire was "a life-saving vest" for them. And who threw them this vest? Cowards Bush and Rice.
But Hell, were the US State Department and the British Foreign office aggressive and bullying against ... the Uzbekistan President Karimov who provided great help to us in our Afghanistan campaing giving the US military unlimited use of his Air Base K-2! The constant vilification, the abusive language, the insults! He finally had enough last year and kicked our military out. Now, our military campaign in Afghanistan is deteriorating.
