Awhile ago the Muslim Public Affairs Council released a handbook for dealing with Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week, centered around these six tips:
The guide includes information about the need for student groups to:* demonstrate Islamic ethics and restraint
* support free speech
* not respond
* contact campus administrators
* talk to other student groups
* report hate crimes and hate incidents
Last night I was on Radio Islam out of Chicago with Salam Al-Marayati of MPAC, and I think he may want to add a seventh:
* engage in character assassination of your opponents rather than respond to the substantive points they raise.
For when I spoke of the need for peaceful Muslims to counter actively Salafist efforts at recruitment, which proceed by appealing to the Qur'an and Sunnah, he responded by likening me to Osama bin Laden.
Of course, he has done this on many radio shows we've been on together in the past, and perhaps nothing better can be expected from a colleague of Edina Lekovic, who has lied about me on national television and ignored my requests for a retraction.
As long as Al-Marayati and his allies continue to engage in this kind of mudslinging instead of dealing with the issues at hand, more and more people will wake up to his utter intellectual bankruptcy, the hollowness of his calls for dialogue, and the unhelpfulness of his organization in the struggle against Islamic supremacism. Nice going, Salam!
Off topic...but VERY current.
The FBI has a detained suspected Al-Qaeda member who said BEFORE these California wildfires started that the next wave of terrorism could include "setting fires in known areas of previous history of wildfires".
As reported on FOX news cable.
SoteriA
I had heard this also, before Catalina Island burned.
Another off-topic;
Nooses showing up everywhere "hurting blacks"
Leading Al (not so)Sharpton to call for more "hate speech" prosecution and legislature by court decision.
I wish there was a way to check his sources of $$ and see if there are some petro-dollars behind those trees and rocks.
We all know who prosecuting hate speech would benefit and it ain't blacks.

I'm speechless!
I watched FOXNEWS morning (night time here) and saw the fires just a few hours ago I wondered if these fires were acts of terrorism! I also thought if they found any 'culprits' they would play it down.
Sometime ago the word "eco-terrorism had been used and this made me think of it.
The recent fires in Greece were arson. Last summer we had terrible fires in Oz also and most were deliberately lit.
OT,,but BTW most arsonists are sexual deviants according to a policeman I know.
Other than that it is dry here, and also in CA. There are quite a lot of eucalypts in CA as well as here. The Eucalyptus oil in the leaves gets hot and burns easily. Fire is also part of the life cycle of some of these species.
The good news is that unlike conifers they re-generate rather well.
"they're like Glenn Beck said - with heart but no brains"
It is a dangerous misconception. This crowd show every attribute of unprincipled and uncompassionate people. They are preaching absolutely unjust ideology, which originate in envy and desire to gain wealth by the way of depraving others from it without taking justice into account. Basically it is an ideology of robbery (although those who are robbed may themselves have no just grounds for their wealth, like aristocracy). Perfectly consistent with the nature of their cult, it's adherents wherether they operated has commited in 20th century an attrocities that only Nazi germany can match. They always chose the dictate as a mean of governing and violent suppression as a mean of dealing with dissent.
That's why i get astonished any time i hear that these are good but deluded people. Is it because THEY characterize themselves as good, compassionate e.t.c.? Are there any self-serving, uncaring people who DO NOT predicate good words of themselves? Leftists are deluded alright (although it's hard sometimes to distinguish what they really believe from what they lie). However their delusion is a simple consequence of them being a scum.
They support islamists because islamists also are a violent cult, with which they have some common goals and enemies.
UMichigan-Dearborn MSA trots out MPAC's taqiyah;
Every time Robert Spencer and others try to bring a little intelligent thinking to the Destroyers and their fellow travelers I have visions of people trying to bring civilization to savages. I just hope they don't end up in a pot for dinner for all their efforts. I don't think I could handle the constant BS they have to always put up with-the frustration has to be nearly unendurable.
I have been waiting for the announcement that the California wildfires were caused by Global Warming (more of a threat than global terrorism), El Nino, La Nina, The Ozone Hole(TM) and / or spotted owl terrorists.
MPAC's Tips for Tackling Islamo-Fascism Week:
* demonstrate Islamic ethics and restraint
* support free speech
* not respond
* contact campus administrators
* talk to other student groups
* report hate crimes and hate incidents
Honestly Translated as:
* pretend to be restrained and civil
* pretend to support free speech
* pretend to ignore the events
* play victim to campus administrators
* play victim to other student groups
* stage "hate crimes" and blame it on "Islamophobia"

Just remember, you asked for this....

Global warming to blame for fires, says Harry Reid
To astonishment of reporters, Senate majority leader makes link

Is there a political angle to the wildfires raging through Southern California?
You betcha – at least according to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, who said global warming is at least partly responsible for the blazes.
"One reason why we have the fires in California is global warming," the Nevada Democrat told reporters, emphasizing the need to pass the Democrats' comprehensive energy package.
Pressed by astonished reporters on whether he really believed global warming caused the fires, he appeared to back away from his comments, saying there are many factors that contributed to the disaster.
I agree with the writer on this, what the hell happened to the muslims 'sensitivity training' that they are putting all westerners through?
How come we see lectures and seminars across the country on 'Islam: revealing the phobias and misunderstandings of Islam'? These lectures deal with phobias by lying, and misunderstandings by pointing out we are the ones 'misunderstanding'.
If the muslims want to attack the speaker instead of the subject, why don't they deal with their own people? It is the muslims killing and asualting people. Muslims are the ones that need to sit through the 'sensitivity training' and the 'phobias and misunderstandings of Islam'.
I can listen to a muslim or I can whatch a muslim, that will give me my opinion.
The old saying...'Your actions speak louder then your words' fits well.
"CALIFORNIA FIRES ... BUSH'S FAULT. OF COURSE!
Well, you knew this just had to happen. Fires are devastating California from North of Los Angeles down to San Diego. Hundreds of thousands of people have had to flee their homes. Disaster is an understatement. So along comes MoveOn Moonbat Senator Barbara Boxer to announce who is to blame. And who would that be? Why none other than George Bush. It would seem that President Bush has taken the time off from killing children and becoming amused as our servicemen are killed in Iraq to plot these fire strategies for California. And just how is this all Bush's fault? Why, he sent all of those California National Guardsmen to Iraq .... For his amusement, of course.
It must be really strange to have such a bizarre woman representing you in the U.S. Senate.
This will just be the beginning. Look for more and more Democrats to lay the blame for the California fires .. and the failure to contain them .. on Bush. Hey .. it's what Democrats do.
But the Harry Reid isn't much better. You knew that this had to happen sooner or later also. Reid is blaming the fires on global warming. There is, of course, no scientific proof whatsoever of this ... nor is there any evidence ... but as long as you have a natural disaster on your hands, you might as well find a way to use it to push your agenda. So ... global warming it is!
The truth is that these fires .. well, not the fires themselves, but the severity of the fires .. can be blamed on whacko environmentalists. Every time someone in California suggests thinning out the brush that fuels these fires you have some environmentalist screaming about kangaroo rats or field mice or some such nonsense. I can remember many years ago there was a community outside of Los Angeles that wanted to clear the brush that abutted their homes. The environmental moonbats said no .. they went to court and managed to prevent the creation of a fire break. One homeowner told the eco-radicals to take a hike, and created his firebreak anyway. While the tree huggers were fuming, along came the fire. Can you guess which was the only home in the neighborhood that didn't burn down?
Now ... I know I'm not the first person to have thought of this. Do you remember about four years ago ... there was a report that some Al Qaeda detainees had said something about starting fires in a Western state? Here's the story from USA Today, dated July 11, 2003. Well ... doesn't it seam just the least bit curious that all of these fires from north of Los Angeles to San Diego erupted at pretty much the same time? No, I'm not saying they were started by terrorists. I am saying that if terrorists had decided to set the fires it would have been a pretty easy task ... and there is some history here."
...this came from Neal Boortz...
I love the way the hypocrites put out a "handbook" which is obviously for show...and they never finish the sentences...
* demonstrate Islamic ethics and restraint (as long as you're on camera-it's incriminating to be seen)
* support free speech (for us)
* not respond (to anything not on our terms)
* contact campus administrators (and harass them into submission as per usual M.O.)
* talk to other student groups (because we can't stand on our own laurels-and we need the mob numbers)
* report hate crimes and hate incidents (no matter how trivial they may be, as it shows to be great anti-western publicity on TV-CAIR & MPAC handles the rest in the media)
Only reason they appeared to "behave" in front of a camera was because of cameras they couldn't control, and manipulate. Even islamofascist media...ooops, I mean al-jazeera, is surprised at such evasiveness (gee, wonder why, along with wondering why they avoid US like the plague-maybe it's because we're told we look like "mob hit-men" when we dress up, whatever the hell that means, lol...go figure).
Their orchstration efforts are crumbling even at Berzerkely...and believe me, THAT lynchmob...ooops, I meant crowd turnout, compared to historical perspectives, was VERY light.

(yes, the malibu fire is verified started by the downed power line...the rest are in question at best).
One thing for sure...these fires seem way too picky to be mere coincidence (see my 10/22 post in the Hysteria thread)
...and only getting more interesting.
