I am set to speak tonight at the University of Rhode Island, and a group calling itself Protest College Republicans has sent around this email. Clearly they're planning a lively intellectual exchange, marked by the civility and high standards of evidence and exposition that are the hallmark of the Left, particularly on campuses these days:
Hello,The same URI College Republicans who brought you a White, Heterosexual Male Scholarship are now bringing you an Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week. The racism, sexism and bigotry continues.
The URI College Republicans must be stopped!
Join myself and dozens of other students as we protest the URI College Republicans tomorrow night at 7PM when they host Robert Spencer, a Muslim-Hating, Bush propogandist in the Memorial Union Ballroom.
Let's put an end to this racism, sexism and bigotry!
This man wrote "The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam". What a sicko!
Protest Details:
What: Robert Spencer Speech
Where: Memorial Union Ballroom
When: Wednesday Oct 24 @ 7 PM
Of course, little do these academic titans know that I neither hate Muslims nor am a Bush "propogandist" -- whatever a "propogandist" is.
UPDATE 11PM: Just got in. The College Republicans and I were not stopped. No protests or disruptions materialized, just the usual windy bloviating during the question period, trying to hijack the presentation with an alternative lecture. But the evening as a whole went smoothly.
I bet they didn't even read "The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam"!
Wow - Have fun at this little presentation.
When will these people get it....
Islamism = Danger
" ..we are against sexism..bigotry..and racism, so bring all your muslim friends and lets go hammer Robert Spencer!"
Wow! What a bunch of little Einsteins these people are. Anyone doubt the leftist/islamic alliance?
Hate speech is verbal communication that induces anger due to the listener’s inability to offer an intelligent response.
Because this inability to offer an intelligent response is due to one of two reasons, there are really two different types of hate speech: 1) Speech that is too dumb to merit an intelligent response, and 2) Speech for which the listener is too dumb to offer an intelligent response.
When I was in school years ago I attended a debate ( sort of a debate) between 2 old hippies, Abbey Hoffman and Jerry Rubin. The headline of the event was called "Yippie vs. Yuppie." Abbey Hoffman was the Yippie, and Jerry had turned into a Yuppie. Naturally I took the yippie, or hippie side automatically, out of feeling, not thinking. It's natural for young people to be liberal, but I never gave it a second thought that the left, or actually some of the left, could be lying and spreading propaganda just like the evil right. It's such brain washing going on that it is ridiculous. Even you, Robert, said that if you were their age you would probably be against this Muslime Awareness week also. Alot of young people are naturally liberal; I just hope that they wake up to what Islamo Fascism really means, and it's implications for the future
If you can't reason, you can always scream and shout and run about.
You'd think the facts would hold sway, but apparently shouting down your opponent is acceptable on today's campus.
Robert, you are very courageous for exposing the LIES of Islam & Company -- the Truth makes them spit nails:
"Stand firm therefore, HAVING GIRDED YOUR LOINS WITH TRUTH, and HAVING PUT ON THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS", Ephesians 6:14.
Godspeed!
That is racist, to restrict a scholarship to someone based on their race, sexual orientation, or gender. Only non-whites or gays or females should be allowed to discriminate on those terms.
I'm a lifelong Democrat, but am impressed with the College Republicans. They make good points, and do it in a positive way. I'm glad they're organizing Robert's debate. Keep up the good work, guys. And gals.
"...put an end to this racism, sexism and bigotry!"
Gosh, if only they would. If only they found out who is really promoting racism, sexism and bigotry, and stopped it. Imagine what a world we'd live in then.
Good luck Robert. I would have just one question to the hecklers in the audience: "when's the book burning?"
~ Ronald Reagan
"The trouble with our liberal friends is not that they're ignorant: It's just that they know so much that isn't so."
What a sad state of affairs for the URI.
This institution passes as a seat of learning, does it?
What you are really witnessing is the death of truth and absolute values. The terms "racism, sexism and bigotry" are subjective terms. You can accuse anyone of holding them and there is no yardstick by which you can say "yes that is right" or "no that is wrong".
'The college Republicans must be stopped' and 'Let's put an end to racism, sexism, and bigotry'.
The only thing that these guys want to STOP is freedom on speech.
And racism? sexism? bigotry???? What race is Islam? What sex is Robert Spencer speaking against? And the definition of 'bigot' hasn't come anywhere close to being fulfilled, accept in their own actions.
If these guys want to 'STOP' something why don't they try and stop all of the muslims that are killing people around the globe. Robert Spencers speech will not incite his 'followers' to kill. So, there is no danger in letting Robert Spencer speak. Why be scared of speech?
And no, it is not because we are in Iraq. Muslims were killing before the U.S. went to Iraq.
And Robert.....they condemn you for writing the book, but they don't, nor can't condemn what was written.
Why are the muslims killing in Thailand, Phillipines, Indonesia, Malaysia, India, Sudan, the list goes on.
On a side note, I am glad that this complainer has the freedom of speech to critisize others in this coundtry of ours. If he was in a muslim country he would not be granted that same freedoms that he chooses to condemn others.
Sexism?
Bigotry?
Did someone mention Islam?
They have met the boogie man and it's Robert Spencer!
'racism, sexism and bigotry!'
Ironic; their mantra perfectly encapsulates Islam, a creed of which they're utterly ignorant.
A mind is a terrible thing to waste.
Things have gotten worse since I was in college. However these idiots will have to be tolerated, and eventually the supporters will outnumber the screamers. I have the deepest sympathy for everyone participating in this who is being personally attacked.
The islami-commie unholy alliance desperately need a new playbook...the overused, and overdone, lexicon is proving to be a yawner to the masses...especially when overused by such mentally projectionistic schizopahblum like PCR and their islamofascist allies.
lol
To be educated, one must try to learn the truth. These people's minds are slammed shut.
Re: "Hello,
The same URI College Republicans who brought you a White, Heterosexual Male Scholarship are now bringing you an Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week. The racism,
sexism and bigotry continues".
We are not far from the time that this will openly mocked and booed. This is Goebbels style "victim" propaganda that even Hitler said worked well. Logically, of course, it's called "poisoning the well".
What I really (personally-since my roots are poor Irish working class) find offensive re the left is that so many of them (sort of like the Saudi-A-Gas-Station racist-pigs condemned by Amnesty International-those Saudis who exploit-apartheid-abuse-"guest workers", etc.) is that they are mostly privileged people. The Left in America only survives by pitting people against each other and setting themselves up as "spokespersons" for various manufactured "multicultural" groups. It's all about power.
They will be finished in a system based on class "affirmative action". Thoughts are in the air on this-as re the Saudi-A-Gas-Station racist-imperialist-privileged-pigs who really practice "apartheid". All Left has is Islamofascist style propaganda-smear, poisoning the well, Sudetenland style charges of "racism", propaganda ("Islamophopia", e.g.) etc. They dare not stop shouting down reason. They share much with the Islamofascist pigs.
---------------------
Hitler (from Mein Kampf) on the methods he learned in Vienna on how to silence critics: "I understood the infamous spiritual terror which this movement exerts, particularly on the bourgeoisie, which is neither morally nor mentally equal to such attacks; at a given sign it unleashes a veritable barrage of lies and slanders against whatever adversary seems most dangerous, until the nerves of the attacked persons break down and, just to have peace again, they (the PC in media and govt, e.g.) sacrifice the hated individual(s).
However, the fools obtain no peace.
The game begins again and is repeated over and over until fear of the mad dog results in suggestive (PC, e.g.) paralysis.........Conversely, they praise every (PC) weakling on the opposing side (who appease them), sometimes cautiously, sometimes loudly, depending on the real or supposed quality of his intelligence".
In regard to the "spiritual terror" tactics of Hitler (noted above), William Shirer (page 23, The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich) said: "No more precise analysis of Nazi tactics, as Hitler was eventually to develop them, was ever written".
The motto of the Left: "It is better to curse one candle than to light the darkness."
Robert, if just one ear hears and one mind opens your effort will be worth it.
Nolite nothos conterere vos.
I hope someone is watching Robert's back for him. These loonies sound like they might try anything. Aside from that, they are just laughable. I was particularly amused by the line:
Exactly what qualifies this as "sicko"? The "politically incorrect" part, or the "islam" part? or maybe the "Guide" part...
I started out investigating the islam-terror connection ages ago, and have since laboured intensely to keep politics out of the issue. I really feel that splitting "left" and "right" over this issue would be a failure of sorts for our culture. But there's a big, and vocal, part of the so-called "left" that has abandoned ship, and no longer wishes to participate in any kind of sensible discourse about this.
I would be prepared to cave on the political game except that there are some very thoughtful, well informed "lefties" who are still ... erhm ... left. Check out the lady they interviewed Nonie Darwish's talk at Berkely . I have come across a small number of commentators on the left who are very aware of jihadist/islamist threat and trying to wake up fellow lefties. But the very fact that finding one of these folks is noteworthy tells us that the "Left" (whatever that is) is currently suffering a very serious illness.
Hey, I got an idea. Want to kill a left-wing idea or candidate? Get a radioactive rightwinger to publicly endorse them! Just a thought -- these days they seem to be for anything the right is against and against anything the right is for. I wonder if the "left" really has any issues of its own anymore? All they do is militate against whatever the "right" stands for. Their reaction to the islamist threat is a perfect case in point.
The motto of the Left: "It is better to curse one candle than to light the darkness."

It is much like the alliance of the Left with the Nazis prior to WW2. It's really about power with them. Many of them are over-privileged. They must manufacture "visual diversity" (gender, culture etc.) to camoflaudge their parasitic nature. It's about power and many of them are class oppressors.
The political Right in America (a la Barry Goldwater) is really about individual rights, equal opportunity. These visual-diversity-scam-fascists try to conjure up the image of the European Right when they refer to the American Right-but they are frauds. They share much with the Islamofascist (Saudi-A-Gas-Station "we really practice apartheid") types.
Good grief, Robert! Do you actually think these mental midgets can read?! And if they can read, is even a tiny atom of comprehension possible for them? Very doubtful. No, they just scream that they and their friends of "victims" and therefore immune from any criticism. They, in truth, are the "sickos." Blind hate is never an antidote to truth.
Is there a "tech" university in the agenda? I'm wondering what kind of reaction one would get at Georgia Tech, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, or MIT.
Sarcasm Alert - Rhode Island? I used to live in a western county that was bigger than RI. They don't even have a college with a football team that anybody cares about. There are some ranches in Texas bigger than RI. Rhode Island?
Frank, you are right, even in the 60s the campus radical lefties were made up of uppercrusty, spoiled rich kids. Are they still so ashamed of their comfy lives that they are Hell-bent on destroying everyone else's?
No, they (half were those spoiled rich kids, the other half used to be known as "red diaper babies") just became indoctrination specialists masquerading as university professors in wackodemia...currently implementing their last hurrah, since they're getting as old as their dinosaur-aged heros of the would-be "glorious revolution" that wasn't.
lol
"Protest College Republicans" = Dangerous
This is the age of stupid.
Our society, in the last 50 years, has totally dumbed down.
No wonder the Muhammedans think we are degenerated and ready for the takeover.
Its a disaster.
Good grief, Robert! Do you actually think these mental midgets can read?!

Judging by the grammar, spelling, and punctuation errors in this email, I would guess the authors don't spend a lot of time with the written word. I suggest less time protesting and more time studying. How much are these students (or most likely, their parents and the taxpayers of Rhode Island) paying for their URI educations? Really, their parents should demand a refund.
I printed a copy of this email. Tomorrow, I will assign my 12-year-old son the task of correcting the mistakes.
Frank wrote from mein Kamph "Conversely, they praise every (PC) weakling on the opposing side (who appease them), sometimes cautiously, sometimes loudly, depending on the real or supposed quality of his intelligence".
so hitler was coming from a christian back ground huh?, as many muslim keep saying.
This sounds more like what the dhimmi weaklings do as they desperatly search for those so called moderate peaceful muslims to make them feel better about the islam.
"Protest College Republicans"
...aka...
"Appease Islamo-Fascists Group"
"This man wrote "The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam". What a sicko!"
That's what they call being a sicko!
HA! HA! HA!
HA! HA! HA!
[Wipes tears from my eyes.]
HA! HA! HA!
After watching the Q&A at Depaul on youtube it hit me why I disliked extream liberals again. Its been a while since I have seen them in full red mode (the one girl had a red arm band on I think even...jeeeze).
That question about decoupling religion for the debate and instead debating socioeconomics of the middle east....oh brother. My eyes rolled back into my head and I nearly had a stroke.
Remember truth always wins even if it may look like it is not. The majority does not scream but instead is quiet....why? Because they listen unlike the shouting machine that is the typical college campus neo-hippie.
Once again what can I say but the basic ideas of classical liberalism (freedom of speech, freedom of women and others) have been dumped for this new age crap complete with crystals and witch craft with science, logic, and common sense giving way to illogical rants, silly straw men, and pure stupidity.
In fact Mr. Spencer you should really get their goat by calling yourself a classical liberal and rebuking them for falling into intellectual slavery. No true liberal in the classical sense would be against the right of women to get an education or be free or to defend herself in a court of law or be treated as an equal under the law.
Just tell them they are not real liberals but instead are classical CONSERVATIVES (circa 700 AD)! Hahahaha!
It would be educational to see how they respond.
Attack where you are least expected...
Yah, Leftislamos can't be reasoned with. Therefore the battle against jihad shouldn't be taken to campuses.
The anti-jihad must be taken to the secularist wings of both the Republican and Democratic parties. Leftislamos need to be marginalized. By confronting them, they claim legitimacy of their cause.
It wasn't the Leftislamos who declared that "islam is peace," while the victims of Muslim aggression were being pulled out of the WTC and Pentagon. Who champions an independent, ethnic detergent state in Kosovo? Who attacks Russia's security over liberty politics, while kissing the butts of the Saudi tyrants? Who attacked France for banning the wearing of Islamic slave garb in public institutions? Who wants Turkey's Islamofascist regime to take that neo-Ottoman entity into Europe? Who gets away with a trillion dollar squanderage on a useless war of attrition, that could be won in 3 days? Who has done more than anyone on the face of this earth, to advance crypto fascism, in the guise of "political islam"? Who refuses to repeat the Ayatollah's serial genocidal rants against his own country and Israel? Who favors tyrannical Pakistan over democratic India? Who pays the ISNA for consultation on "Islamic affairs"? Who cultivated a wild eyed mob of knee jerk defenders of his every surrender? (Present company not excepted)
In the alternative to political realism, keep trying to convince college goofs that their beloved koranimals would like nothing better than to separate the heads of Communists and Fascists, from their wretched bodies. Keep cultivating these wastes of flesh and bones. I'm sure your work will yield dividends in about 500 years.
"sexism"?
they're really clutching at straws.
i'm just worried that once these marxists run out of words, then will come their bullets and bombs.
i'm fully investigating the revolutionary commnist party of the USA. very dangerous people.
problem is, they have made it look sexy to belong to an extreme terrorist organisation (commies have butchered over 90 million people between stalin and mao). the communists today have a massive support from "trendy" university types who think it's call to shout out revolution and anti-western slogans without realising the danger that they are putting us all in.
disable socialism/marxism/communism ,(it's one of the same), then islamism will fall.
President Reagan was the King of the one liner put down that would put the Left in its place. He understood the power that one liners made as sound bites. He always has a huge smile on his face when he threw these bombs. Signs of one liking what he's doing knowing the come back just isn't there.
When these children start up, treat them as such.
Considering how much these children are having forked out for them to attend these Universities, they should have better manors.
Rather than confront their Ideology. Scold them for their rudeness and lack of consideration ect. through humor. Clean one liners,Making your audience out-laugh the problem.
Making people feel foolish by making others laugh at them is a powerful put down. Why fuel their anger by trying to outspit fire and acrimination.
Anticipate when the Children will cry with one liners in the Margins
The message I seem to be picking up from the new political leftist ideology sprouting up all over the USA these days (especially at our nation's universities where there's plenty of Muslim students who apparently believe they own the universe and control what everyone should be thinking in addition to pro-Saudi profs awash in billions of Saudi Arabian grant mula) is that hate is just fine if it achieves what you want politically (just be sure to call it something else so that you can accuse your opponent of being guilty of 'hate'). But, if you are a leftist, go ahead and hate (of course without owning up to it) and call every one else guilty of 'hate' if their viewpoint undermines yours somehow.
This man wrote "The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam". What a sicko!
I read that and didn't get 'sicko' out of it. Must be something in the water...
Just returned from lecture, with the exception of one Egyptian student teacher who claimed that only those who understood Arabic could understand the Koran etc., the meeting was mild and civil.
Robert was battling a cold but was especially feisty in combating the student teacher who tried to take over the event saying "I was invited to speak here! You're not lecturing one of your classes!" A South Kingston cop took the Egyptian by the elbow and told him if he didn't give up the mike he would be escorted out of the room.
It was my impression that Robert had a better understanding of Islam than some of the Muslim students who asked him questions.
Most of the student questions revolved around "What can we do?" or "What solutions do you have?" upon which Robert listed many ways of dealing with Islamic fascism. I was very impressed with the students of my old Alma mater as to their civility. Even one Muslim female student asked Robert what she could do as a Muslim to combat the Fascist ideology.
Some Islamophobe pamphlets were passed out by one female student. An older couple said: "I'm going to put this where it belongs." The husband wrinkled it up and threw it in the trash basket.
All in all, it was a surprisingly uplifting night
flower uk:
"When these children start up, treat them as such.
Considering how much these children are having forked out for them to attend these Universities, they should have better manors."
Exactly. We have to remember that most of these college liberals are just kids. Many of them have been spoiled, sheltered, and now indoctrinated by clever neo-Marxists who prey upon their young minds and their parents' checkbooks so they don't have to actually work for a living.
For them Robert Spencer is a perfect messenger, because he comes across in person as a mild, fatherly type who refuses to be riled by the type of obvious provocations that would derail an immature fellow student or professor.
Glad to hear that URI went well tonight. IFAW is a very important toe-in-the-water event that hopefully will have all of us jumping in headfirst in the years to come.
Briars
Thanks for that little piece.
I especially love it when they say you can only understand the koran if you know arabic.
That would mean only 15% of muslims can understand it. That's why they get all their stupid ideas from the local imams from Iran to Indonesia!
It seems the central questions of Islamofascism awareness week are just these:
Why is it that so much violence is committed by Islamists and what can we do about it?
Why is it that some Muslims immigrants to the West, who again move to the West of their own free will, start attacking people already living in the West, violently and physically or through lawsuits or demands for special accommodation that goes directly against established Western traditions, instead of just living their lives and leaving other people alone?
There is no problem with anything Muslims do on their own as long as it does not affect others, whether it is whom Muslims worship, what they eat or how they dress.
The central problem is why they try to make everyone else change their lives to accommodate them.
If they were into a "live and let live" credo, there would be no problem, just as their is no problem with a person who chooses to live as a Buddhist or become a vegetarian or spend all their money collecting cabbage patch dolls.
There is no problem with any obsession, as long as the obsessed do not seek to impose their obsession on others.
The problem is that Islamists seek to impose their obsession on others. They are not content with saying some personal vow to Allah and submitting personally. They want us all to submit in the same way. The say "live like us or die."
Thus, we need Islamofascism awareness week, and I hope it turns into a movement. We will only conquer the "live like us or die" ideology of Islamists when every week is an Islamofascism awareness week.
Just read the admirable statement from "secular Islamists" and their St. Petersburg declaration, including the brave Ibn Warraq et.al.
http://www.secularislam.org/blog/post/SI_Blog/21/The-St-Petersburg-Declaration
But a point must be made. The mad death agenda of the more radical Islamists (and there are oh so many) is likely more in disdain of "secular Islamists" than they are of us.
Muslims we must FIGHT know exactly who they are, and Muslims we don't need to worry about also know who they are. Those caught in the middle are shit out of luck or need to have their minds made up for them. Simple as that. Fair warning given. Let the global ass-kicking commence.
Briars, you lucky bastard. :)
It is good to hear that the event went off with minimal interruption and Robert was successful in getting his vital message across. I for one know that Robert will never submit, because he said so and continues to back up that statement.
Success at events like these usually correlates to the security and the effort and foresight put forth by the host. URI, in my estimation, should feel proud of their accomplishment as well. Nonie was not afforded the same luxury at Berkeley, and to no one's surprise I am certain.
Regarding that bit of silliness from the Egyptian student-teacher, and that the Qur'an can only be understood in Arabic, it was simply overt taqiyya on his part.
Robert effectively obliterates that "argument" with a simple statement.
"If the Qur'an can only be properly understood in Arabic, then why do Muslims translate it into English??"
Sometimes, the logical simplicity of the truth delivers a mighty hammer blow.
Kudos, Robert.
I plan to attend a lecture tomorrow night on the campus of University of Washington in Seattle for Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week. Conservative radio host Michael Medved is the featured guest speaker. I am excited to suuport this event.
Unfortunately, Islamo-Facism Awareness Week has already been getting some negative press in the Seattle Times.
Read it here:
http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/2003963479_islam20m.html
Negative press is expected in the liberally-dominated media.
No press should be a cause for concern.
Enjoy the lecture on what you already know and accept, but support it if you can, nonetheless.
Speaking of URI...this just in.
News Flash: Feminist discovers that islamic fundamentalism violates women's rights.
http://media.www.ramcigar.com/media/storage/paper366/news/2007/10/24/News/Womens.Studies.Professor.Says.Islamic.Fundamentalists.Violate.Womens.Rights-3052510.shtml
gee, what a shock.
While I commend her take, albeit late (hey, better late than never-that's most important), why is the feminist lobby, otherwise, so strangely & overwhelmingly silent on this in the US?
(rhetorical-I already know why, just worth triggering thought over)
Had one of her peers at, say, Berzerkely done that. she'd be fired on the spot before the sun went down.
I'm glad at least one of them got it out.
Pelayo,
TX A&M was initially on the tour, as was several others.
I'm not sure what happened, but curious.
Will Peter Griffin show up??
Did Peter Griffin show up?
I am always, as ever, so very curious as to what race and specific gender Islam actually is. Maybe this protest group can tell us.
"This man wrote "The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam". What a sicko!"
So that's their definition of a sicko. Someone who publishes a book under the -oh so sick- title of "The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam"?
My! They're an innocent bunch. Most Puddleduckish.
I have it on internet authority that a "pog" is
POG also is an acronym for the Pittsburgh Organizing Group, which isAn "Andist," I'm told, is someone who believes in "Andism," which in practice means always tacking on to any statement the words, "and furthermore...".So maybe the flyer, in calling Robert a "Bush propogandist" was saying that Robert is a member of the Bush family who likes to drink pogs while standing around in Pittsburgh polemicizing against militarism and capitalism, and who ends every statement with "and furthermore..."
"...we protest the URI College Republicans tomorrow night at 7PM when they host Robert Spencer, a Muslim-Hating, Bush propagandist in the Memorial Union Ballroom.
Let's put an end to this racism, sexism and bigotry!
This man wrote "The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam". What a sicko! "
It just sickens me that the social disease I was born with (In a western country)and brought up to endure and spread, is someone else's desire. This social disease, Islam, that I have struggled against when I was just 16 years old, and quit when I was 18, a teenager who should've focused more on having fun, but instead had to change states of fear of his own father's vengeance, is their desire? Could you imagine how it would feel for a Youngman who recovered from all this at the age of 24 when a lucky guy who never had to go through this and was lucky to enjoy freedom since he was a child, tells him that this has nothing to do with Islam, and that it was just people who do these things???
Now imagine how I could feel when I see someone like Robert, brave enough to speak out the atrocities of that social disease to a whole nation, guiding them on the right way to get rid of it, even trying to help Muslims to be better people, and then that person gets attacked by people who aren't even Muslim. Quite the contrary, they've enjoyed a very healthy childhood, for which I envy them, never had to fight for their freedom, they were just born free!! Yet, they fight for a religion that stands against every value they were brought up to live by!
Anybody could understand how a Muslim, considering the background of continuous brain-washing and micro-acting, could be deadly and fatally defensive about that ideology. But what I can't understand is a western born and raised with freedom and currently enjoying it, standing against it!!.Lol, it just shits me to tears, don't know whether to laugh or.....no, I guess it's rather funny than sad.
I have one question to ask them: Would they actually agree to live outside the US in a country like...say Saudi? no, even better, would they even agree to let their kids go on a student exchange program with Saudi??? Ok, let's make it easier...would they even let a Muslim family baby sit their kids for one week??? I'm pretty sure the answer is Capital N.O.
They define hypocrisy!!! It just does not make any sense!!
Good luck Robert
night_side_eclipse, interesting post. You might consider writing up your story and then publishing it at one of the apostate sites like

Pelayo, why pick on Rhode Island for being small? In terms of size the earth is just an infinitesimal speck of dust, and yet everything, and everything that matters, is somehow intimately related with that mysterious speck. Sometimes the whole cosmos turns on the actions of one or another almost infinitesimal thing, and, to be corny but factual, a single individual can change everything.
You knew that already, but your post gave me an excuse to repeat it...
Naturally I took the yippie, or hippie side automatically, out of feeling, not thinking. It's natural for young people to be liberal, but I never gave it a second thought that the left, or actually some of the left, could be lying and spreading propaganda just like the evil right.
The only reason a young person would be liberal is because it's easy. It's easy to be permissive. It's easy to regurgitate a professor's lecture. And of course it's easier to label someone bigot, sexist, etc. than actually stand up and intelligently discuss issues and not be afraid to considered another's informed opinion.
The main question that Muslims seem determined not to answer is that the Koran contradicts itself. I learned this straight from the horse's mouth, Al Qaeda in a book called The Al Qaeda Reader by Raymond Ibrahim. In the letter it is stated that whenever a new verse contradicts an old, the new trumps. Now if God, excuse me, Allah, is so powerful and all knowing, why the contradictions?
The author came across several Al Qaeda publications while interning at the Library of Congress. These pubs had never been translated and so he translated them and the book was published. Interesting read, verbose as seems to be the Muslim style, but interesting to read the mind of an islamo-fascist group.
Time for the "Spencer Factor" on Fox News or some other menue!
Time for the "Spencer Factor" on Fox News or some other menue!
Time for the "Spencer Factor" on Fox News or some other menue!
Sorry for all the bold. Messed up the code.
If the Texas A&M debate was cancelled had to be a scheduling conflict. While A&M is not the conservative campus it once was, it is hardly liberal. So a scheduling conflict has to be the issue.
Jonas Salk,
Trifkovic in his 2002 edition of the book Sword of the Prophet points out that four-fifths of Arab Americans are Christians.
So if we "Islamophobes" are racist, how come we don't object to Arab Christians? They are exactly the same race as Arab Muslims. Furthermore, most of the Muslims in the world are not even Arabs!
I couldn't care less what color a Muslim's skin is. His belief system turns me off, to say the least, whether he's Arab or black or lily white.
The racist charge is a vicious lie brought to us as disinformation fostered in part by the same kinds of people who brought us girls decapitated on the way to school and children shot in the back.
As far as I have seen, the Islam-critical sites all seem to more or less revere the former Muslim Hirsi Ali, who has quite lovely, and black, skin. And plenty of "Islamophobe" white guys would jump at a chance to date her. So then what happened? Did her race change when she left Islam? Is that why many racist Islamophobes now desire her?
"White, Heterosexual Male Scholarship"
LOL. I must admit that such thinking patterns escape my reason.
Maybe it is time to create a special tribe for such hardcore moonbats (membership voluntary, of course) and give them a reservation. Some place in California could be useful.
The chieftain could be Ward Churchill. After all, he has experience with changing his ethnicity on demand. Now he would be The Moonbat Tribe Shaman.
In this reservation, guns would be banned (after all the moonbats do not like them), but any locally-produced drugs allowed. Thorough border controls would ensure that these are not exported back into the U.S.
And tourists would flock there to see the annual mystic dances of the tribe in front of the Che Guevara totem.
I only hope that they would not start with human sacrifice too soon.
No thanks,
even the local tribes can't stand him.
we have enough moonbats out here as it is, only they're kept in san fransicko & lalaland...and out of what's left of NORMAL California (the remaining 85% which ISN'T 'bat country). If it wewren't for those two population centers, this'd be a red state.

"The only reason a young person would be liberal is because it's easy."
A more concise statement is:
"The only reason a person would be liberal is because it's easy."
Glad to see URI taking Robert's presentation seriously. Sounds like it was success.

"Let's put an end to this ... sexism!"
-------------------------------------
Islam is very effective in putting a stop to sexism by eliminating anything remotely feminine. Women have to be covered so that nothing female is seen and in many Muslim countries, Muslim girl's female sexuality is viciously castrated through clitorectomies.
I see the campus slogan now...
"Islam: the Next Phase in Feminist Empowerment!"

"While I commend her take, albeit late (hey, better late than never-that's most important), why is the feminist lobby, otherwise, so strangely & overwhelmingly silent on this in the US?
(rhetorical-I already know why, just worth triggering thought over)"
jcom972,
I've wondered the same thing, since it does continue (and rightfully so) to come up in various threads.
As a woman, this question used to sting me, a little. I can't call myself a feminist, as that label has been hijacked by a tiny minority of lunatics. But I digress...
Last week, I went to the Great Oracle (National Organization for Women), to see what was up with this topic. I read as much as I could stand, then took a couple of Anacin.
NOW isn't silent on these issues, but they seem to have bigger fish to fry. There's quite a bit of gratuitous Bush-bashing on the site.
I'm an open-minded person, by and large, and I say, bash away, if it eases your spleen. Unfortunately, the plight of Mohammedan women seems to be placed on a back burner.
NOW is certainly opposed to the treatment of women under Sharia, but they aren't investing much vigor into the cause. I find this peculiar, since Bush is on his way out, but Sharia is forever.
You're right. Where are these women? If you want to know how they feel about mistreatment of women, under Sharia, you've got to go to their site, to find out.
It's inexcusable. NOW is passe (it should be called "THEN"). It hasn't moved along with the issues affecting women. Maybe it's time for a new women's movement.

RI may be small but we have alot of history here, dating back to the first days of the american revolution. As one of the first colonies we hade the greatest degree of self rule, and knew what we stood to lose under British Rule.
Boston may have their tea party but we burned a british warship down to the water line and have celebrated it every year since.

"Tom Sgouros, publisher of the Rhode Island Policy Reporter, is one of those who suggested the protest idea was made up.
"Sgouros said he is on the College Republican e-mail list and receives club e-mails at his work and personal e-mail addresses. The e-mail announcing the protest, which offered no name or contact information, also went to both addresses, he said.
"Sgouros also noted the wording of the press release announcing the protest, which urged others to put an end to the “racism, sexism and bigotry” spread by a “sicko” like Spencer.
“That’s’ the kind of things that Republicans imagine that leftists sit around talking about,” he said."
------------------------------------------------
Note the conspiracy theory by the college newspaper reporter, Tom Sgouros.
When that find that the e-mail was sent by the College Dhimmicrats, there will be no Errata in the paper.

What is truly sick is that people have turned a blind eye to the plight of people like you. People like you deserve a movement that would protect and assist them, challenge the belief-system that is victimizing them and many others in secrete, and bring attention to their cause.
I know of a case where a female Muslim married a Christian. Her family then rejected her. One day her father called her feigning acceptance of her, and invited her to his house on the premise of making amends with her. She agreed to his offer. When she went to her father's house (without anyone knowing about it), he was waiting there with a knife and cut her to pieces. After he done his evil deed, he left the country and the West and justice was never served on him. He had sent the rest of his family away beforehand. The woman remained missing for weeks, dead in the house.
In the 1970's, during the second-wave of American Feminism, I recall many left-wing groups trying to infiltrate the NY Womens' Movement. They wore many hats and spoke all different kinds of jargon and rhetoric, anything that would help them gain favor with single-issue
Feminists. They were definitely parasitic and co-optive.
Apparently, things haven't changed and leftist are still exploiting real-live life and death causes. I never saw the Feminist Movement as being part of left-wing and/or liberal reform movements, but they tried their best to overlap the issues even when it seemed absurd. It was clearly self-serving and they are doing it now with our anti-islam movement, as they do with any issue that questions the status-quo.
Thank you, Robert, for staying focused on our one single-issue --- alerting the world to the imminent threat of a Islam-Fascist take-over.

Of course,
Thanks, of course. The truth of the matter is that when people turn a blind eye, that's selfish. But when they ignore a problem spreading through their lands and threatening to get them, that's being too dumb to be selfish.
I think the problem here is that people only understand mass deaths, they don't understand that one wrong incident could mean that there's something really wrong behind it, and that could cause another one. How long have people like Robert been talking for? I'm not sure here. What I know is people only started paying attention after September 11. You could apply the same theory with anything: Southern Sudan, darfour, Hitler,Bin ladden, etc.

I find there is much truth in what you say. For crying out loud, the Shiites are forcing all the Christians out of southern Lebanon; they’re not letting even one family keep its property among them. Yet, no one asks “Why?” or “What does this mean to me?” It’s not even making the news!
Frankly, I believe people are being sheltered from learning the connections between crimes and abuses to the Islamic ideology. The West always seems to make them issues of culture and ethnicity when they clearly are not.
