Treasury Department identifies three Saudi financiers of jihad

Friend and Ally Update. What status do these "three individuals based in Saudi Arabia" enjoy within the Kingdom? Have they been investigated or arrested by the Saudi government? Did the House of Saud cooperate in the Treasury Department's investigation?

"Treasury Designates Three Key Terrorist Financiers," from the Treasury Department (thanks to Sr. Soph):

The U.S. Department of the Treasury today designated as Specially Designated Global Terrorists (SDGTs) three individuals based in Saudi Arabia who have served as significant sources of financial and other support to individuals and entities in Southeast Asia previously named as SDGTs and listed pursuant to United Nations Security Council Resolution (UNSCR) 1267.

"These three terrorist financiers were instrumental in raising money to fund terrorism outside of Saudi Arabia," said Stuart Levey, Under Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence. "In order to deter other would-be donors, it is important to hold these terrorists publicly accountable."

Abdul Rahim Al-Talhi, Muhammad `Abdallah Salih Sughayr, and Fahd Muhammad `Abd Al-`Aziz Al-Khashiban were designated for providing support to the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG), an al Qaida-affiliated terrorist group responsible for multiple bombings, kidnappings and other terrorist attacks in Southeast Asia.

Today's action was taken pursuant to Executive Order 13224. E.O. 13224 is aimed at financially isolating terrorists and their support networks. Designations made under this authority freeze any assets the designees may have under U.S. jurisdiction and prohibit transactions by U.S. persons with the designees. This action under E.O. 13224 also implements yesterday's decision by the UN 1267 Committee to include these three persons on its Consolidated List of persons and entities associated with al Qaida, the Taliban, or Usama bin Laden. This UN decision obligates UN member countries around the world to freeze the assets of the designees.

How soon before we get the predictable "racism!" refutations?
I lay odds...less than 24 hours.

I guess it was easy to determine that the second named one was a "Sughayr-daddy" for the ASG.

Good, and also Bad, can come of this.

Good, if the United States and the entire Western world makes clear that these individuals are being sought, will be seized, will be extradited to the United States, will be tried, and will be punished if convicted. If nothing else, it should make rich Arabs, who have been getting away with murder, tormenting the domestic slaves they bring with them to the West, running down locals, entering into "temporary marriages" for guaranteed sex with those silly non-Muslim girls, or in many cases simply debauching as many as they can, and counting it a kind of civilizational attack ("their women" wouldn't behave thus, so let's do as much as we can to the "women" of the Infidels), not to mention the industries whereby every paper, right up to the doctorate, is written for this or that rich Arab who just can't be bothered, even the subject has an Islamic or Arabic theme.

Good if we start making clear that access to Western education (that is, to the degrees and the presumed prestige that attendance at a Western school, no matter how crappy, can confer at home, and justify the stay at Papa's expense), and to Western medicine (where would the rich Arabs be without the Mass General, and Sloan-Kettering, and The Children's Hospital, and Dana Farber, and all of Harley Street -- how would you feel if you were suddenly cut off from access to Western hospitals and Western-level medical care?) is not a given, and that there will be consequences.

Bad, if the American government focusses only on this or that individual. For god's sake, the Saudis, the Al-Saud and tens of thousands of rich Saudis, and millions of the Saudi Believers, are hellbent on sending money abroad -- one hundred billion dollars is the estimate -- to pay for mosques and madrasas for Muslims in the West, to propaganda on behalf of Islam, and that includes all the horrific anti-Infidel stuff that that Freedom House report a year or two ago, prepared by Nina Shea (who has left Freedom House, by the way, because of the malign influence on its Board of a new, Muslim arrival who is managing to suppress or divert attention from what should be pressing matters), so disturbingly discussed. And then there is all that Saudi money, or hints of Saudi contracts, that are dangled before the Great and Good of Washington, in both parties, and too many former diplomats, intelligence agents, high government officials right up to the Cabinet level and, indeed, the level of that Oval Office we hear so much about, and journalists and professors, have all been happy to accept Arab, and especially that limitless Saudi largesse, and it does work its magic in the corridors of power, and has helped prevent, among many other things, any sensible measures to dampen demand for oil.

If anthropogenic climate change is indeed irreversible, if it is indeed too late for many of the low-lying cities of this planet -- Lower Manhattan, Shanghai, and so on, and if the rate of change will cause 90% of the world's species to disappear within the next century, and to cause all sorts of other upheavals, climatological, economic, social, and political, as we frantically try to deal with the problem, try to ameliorate things, you should thank, above everyone else, those Western hirelings, those traitors who worked so assiduously to prevent the American government from coming to its senses on energy policy -- and also, of course, in coming to its senses about Islam.

The Saudi lobby: it is the members of that lobby, serving for pay those dagger-and-dishdasha primitives, with their double-decker goatees and their sneers of cold command, of the absurd Al-Saud, who have done so much to keep us from taxing gasoline and oil, as we might have done, beginning in 1973, and headed off the trouble that is to come.

OK, so these 3 will start working through proxies ... that is, if they haven't already.

At the rate of 3 per year, we'll have this matter straigthened out in a few thousand years.

How 'bout some real deterrents like Hugh suggests?

"This action under E.O. 13224 also implements yesterday's decision by the UN 1267 Committee to include these three persons on its Consolidated List of persons and entities associated with al Qaida, the Taliban, or Usama bin Laden."- JW

I can name a whole bunch of entities closely associated with all three mentioned, but we keep on turning a blind to them. No wonder most people don't believe that we are serious about fighting the terrorist.

Good, if the United States and the entire Western world makes clear that these individuals are being sought, will be seized, will be extradited to the United States, will be tried, and will be punished if convicted.

Bad, if the American government focuses only on this or that individual.

How do we do otherwise? Our society is based on the freedom of the individual. I am not held responsible for the actions of my neighbor or even my brother, only for my own. We could start with those three financiers and work our way back through their finances but breaking up such networks is easier said than done, given the laws governing privacy and what would surely be the resistance to disclosure of such transactions, in light of the SWIFT stories.

How do we tell a good Saudi from a bad one?

Global commerce and international banking transfers obscure where the money is going and where it came from. Can we cut off the banking system to all Saudis? We can close this country to all Saudis (hooray!) but they still have their proxies. We have given them the instruments with which to destroy us: not so much the weapons as the internet, the global commerce system and international travel. These financiers can run an entire network without even leaving their homes. If their government sees nothing wrong with that, what can we do short of war?

We all know that there are just a few bad Apples in the Bushel. Just because they have been in their a while doesn't really matter much doe's it?

Tell the Saudi's to leave our Booze and Whores alone and go Home. Let them play under their own Table Cloths and leave our fine China alone.

Take the Money and give it to Israel. See how they take the idea of the Jews spending their Money.

...it is a good thing WE found them....if left up to Saudia Arabia, no one would know of these people....

Here's a Pro-Sharia Housing/Mosque Community
that so far is Legal in Canada and now becomes the 1st Caliphate City in North America .

I predicted this type of self-segregation that would allow an "Islamic" area to use Multiculturalism as the Creeping-Sharia for Building a massive Mosque with Saudi Funding and then spread out slowly by taking more and more land for Allah until it has the Power to wage Jihad to create a Caliphate State inside canada.

Please note the picture at the bottom of the page and read the English print that declares this area a as "City" and praises Allah for the day he Slaughters all the Jews and Christians to make the World all Muslims in a Caliphate .

Check out the floor plans with segregated Washrooms at the back of the house for Women
and segregate areas for women to meet or pray in the home.

...they wouldn't want the women in on the making and discussing of war plans....

Did someone say that we should tax gasoline ?

First we are doing that at present.

Second, it is pure foolishness as it puts a constraint on one's own economy and hurts everybody (even the tax collector).

(begone ye socialist ideas)

Preferred: Sue 'em for their acts as enablers and secure the judgements against the oil ("No Achmed, no more jihad or my wives and mistresses will not be able to go to Switzerland with me this year, and we will be stuck in this air conditioned s-hole - these class action lawyers are killing me.")

"Did someone say that we should tax gasoline ?"

... yep, the dhimmicrats but they want to tax everything.....nothing new here...

"authority freeze any assets the designees may have under U.S. jurisdiction and prohibit transactions by U.S. persons with the designees."

Rather than just freeze assets in cases like this, why not seize the assets and give them to the holocaust museum in Washington D.C.

And then have the museum send a thank you note for the donation.

As Menachem Begin pointed out, Saudi Arabia is not a country, it's a family, and one that is detrimental to the long term interests of the West. I'm sick of Saudi Arabia, its funding of Wahhabism around the world and guys who would not be so filthy rich but for Western technology and know-how. When I see a Saudi, I see someone who can do America little good and much harm. These three "financiers" are a case in point. Finally, it's sickening that the Saudis can fund the building of mosques here in the West but not a single church or synagogue can be constructed in their domain. Hypocrites. Bastards.

Perhaps these three lovely fellows can attend the Jihadist Reform Spa and then be put on the circuit traveling all around the world (islamic world) telling how terrible it was to be used to mass murder "innocent people."

Treviso, Italy: Prefect Permits Burka Despite Legislation

‘Suicide of civilisation’ warning as Italian town permits burka

Good letter in jpost.com:

Dreamer with open eyes

Sir, - Michael Freund's optimistic call to revitalize the Zionist dream was refreshing in its realism ("Time to recharge our batteries," October 10). Obviously, Freund does not believe that territorial concessions will bring real peace, as it never has. He is also very proud of Israeli democracy.

Contrast those facts with the dreams that fail, the delusions of the fantasists. Think of the violence after Oslo, after Gaza, after the pullout from Lebanon, and the growing menace from Egypt. Think of the sacrifices in Iraq and Afghanistan, and no stable democracy yet.

I like guys like Michael Freund, because they know how to dream with their eyes open.

This is OT, but some of you Barbie fans will get heartburn when you see this:

"Treviso, Italy: Prefect Permits Burka Despite Legislation

‘Suicide of civilisation’ warning as Italian town permits burka"
-- from a posting above

So in Treviso the wearing of the burka will be legal.

Treviso is the world-headquarters of Benetton. Perhpas Benetton can do a line of Burkas of Benetton, not only in black, as are favored today, but in pink and fuchsia and in a whole range of colors.

After all, Benetton has to win back points. Just a few weeks ago, it was being bitterly denounced in the streets of Tehran, and its stores threatened, for selling clothes that were not sufficiently Islamic. What better way to make amends than to start turning out burkas. Better still, why not get with the program, the Islamic program, and stop manufacturing those skimpy clothes and stick just to burkas. There's a growing market for them all over the world. There's a growing market for them especially in Western Europe, and in Italy, and right in downtown Treviso.

Here's that post on the Iranian alarm about, and warning to, Benetton:

So the "United Colors of Benetton" may now be burned at those famous Iranian rallies, alongside the flags of America, the Great Satan, and England, the Behind-the-Scenes Satan, and Israel, the Little Satan.

And in the taxonomy of Satanhood, where will Benetton of Treviso, in the Veneto, be placed? What name shalll we give it? Well, I'd like to suggest (the Iranian Embassy may forward me a fat and much-needed check if my suggestion is adopted -- goodness gracious, I seem to be doing the work for both sides now) that it be kept, fittingly, in Italian, but in an easily-decipherable form. Let's call Benetton, keeping in mind its famous ad, the "Satana Tinto Di Tutti I Colori."

Gasoline is already taxed...only .18 of each 1.00 goes to the company, while the rest is to gov'ts (& the purchase of the crude).

BUT, the Saudis SHOULD HAVE BEEN TAXED (e.g., through import tariffs) since 1973. Especially when one considers that in 1973 they raised crude prices when negotiations with retailers broke down AND they attacked Israel on Yom Kippur in order to boycott Israel supports. (What do you think led to those long lines anyway???)

Tit for Tat...
