FAMILIES of Bali bomb victims have expressed disgust that those behind the attacks have been allowed out of jail to party and pray at a senior policeman's home.In Bali for today's anniversary of the 2002 bombings, several Australians who lost relatives in the blasts demanded Canberra protest and Jakarta keep the terrorists in jail.
News that the head of Indonesia's anti-terror unit, Surya Dharma, hosted 20 convicted terrorists and released Muslim radicals late last month emerged yesterday, with an Associated Press report and photographs from a journalist who attended the Muslim fast-breaking party.
Guests included Ali Imron and Mubarok, who received life sentences for their roles in the first Bali bombings, which took the lives of 202 people including 88 Australians.
Brigadier-General Dharma said the gathering was part of a strategy to win over terrorists.
"We approach the terrorists with a pure heart," he said. "We are all Muslims. We make them our brothers, not our enemy."
Craig Salvatore, who lost his wife, Kathy, in the attacks described the news of the gathering between police and terrorists as a "slap in the face".
"Indonesia should have a bloody good look at itself," he said.
Yep. It should.

This is a good example of how the Islamic Golden Rule only applies to Muslims. The fact that the celebrants are fellow Muslims trumps any concern about the Infidel victims.

I've been thinking about what would ensue in the event of the defeat of Islam. Based on what we witness now regarding the defeat of Naziism, fascism and Communism, the world won't care or appreciate it.
In fact, the world will probably find reason to criticize, distort and dissemble what this war is about, what we did about it, and how we won.
After all, we see this deceit over and over again in the media, academia and the Leftist Establishment.
So, I don't expect gratitude from posterity.
Bali is a tragedy.
A wonderful Hindu island, not yet destroyed by their Muhammedan overlords.

If we go there we should support the Hindu's, of course.
But its the Muhammedan generals from Jakarta who own the hotels and resorts, and the Balinese are by and large just employees.
But we all know that Bali will be islamized, by stealth, persistently,

atheling: You make a good point when you assert that in the event that Islam is defeated, the world (or at least much of it) still won't draw the correct conclusions. I've seen this where Ronald Reagan is concerned. He was an enormously important factor in the downfall of the Soviet Union, even Gorbachev himself has said so as did his foreign minister, Alexander Bessmertnykh, and yet much of the Left has disregarded Reagan's role and now speaks of the "inevitability" of the USSR's demise, even though twenty years ago this same Left ridiculed Reagan for claiming that the Soviet Union would soon be on the trash heap of history. Goofy world all around to be sure but really goofy Left.
Terrorists for brothers eh? That's one hell of a family they've got there. And that's where it belongs-in hell.
As for any Islamic Golden Rule it's quite simple. They steal all the gold in order to rule the world-either by buying up politicians or by funding more "fraternal" activities.
No one familiar with Jihad Watch should be surprised at this holiday celebration. That those who are called "justices" or "protectors" should be unjust is clearly an evident fiber in the fabric of the Quran. That killers should be invited over for a religious holiday seems to me to be the logical conclusion of Islam.

Methinks I hear cheering in the galleries from Oriana Fallaci as this Italo-Australian (with a classic blue-collar Scottish-Australian first name, and a magnificent Italian surname) speaks plain truth concerning the 'sons of allah'.
Who knows what stories about the Moors, the Saracens, the Turks he might have heard from his Italian nonna or nonno, while he was growing up? Stories that have now been confirmed for him, by bitter personal experience.

I think it is the total absence of the Golden Rule that I find most repulsive about Islam: that reciprocity, empathy, goodwill really apply only within the Ummah (and hey, those principles don't seem much in evidence even there, many Muslims seem to spend an awful lot of time cheating, hurting and killing each other with concentrated viciousness) while all outsiders appear to be viewed - at bottom - as prey.
How does one deal with a human being who has turned themselves into a killing machine, programmed to 'Kill the Kuffar'? How does one deal with a 'religion', ANY member of which may, at any time, morph into such a killing machine?

We might not recognize the defeat of Islam when it comes. There won't be a formal surrender on some battleship.
Don't prejudge posterity. Our contemporaries may not appreciate what the defeat of Islam portends for them, but we can't worry about that now.
Pass on your values to your children and trust that they will do the right thing and that their descendants will draw the right lessons from this struggle.
It's said by some that George W. Bush will be recognized as a great president, in the manner of Harry Truman, even though he is derided and despised by even those who voted for him (myself included). We may be too close to the situation to recognize it. Leave it to posterity and trust that our values will carry on.

Atheling, I think you are probably right that in the wake of defeating (or at least defanging) Jihad, that the heroes of this fight will suffer a lack of recognition or even criticism. Those who fought against Fascism, and Nazism, and Communism in many cases suffered the same.
Almost immediately following his saving Britain, Winston Churchill was ousted as Prime Minister by the colorless and lack-luster Anthony Eden.
Those who fought back Islam's threat in times past are also either largely forgotten--the heroes of Poitiers, and the Battle of Lepanto, or the defense of Vienna--or disparaged, like the Crusaders.
This is disturbing (and disgusting), but it should in no way disuade us from the fight. The world is better off, by far, without Nazism, and Fascism, and with Communism much reduced and (largely) discredited. The same will be true if the threat of radical Islam can be reduced.
The world will benefit from our fighting against this threat. And some of us--some of us--will remember.
