Bahrain: Move to close seven churches 'without permits'

Legal jihad. From AKI (thanks to Sr. Soph):

Manama, 29 Nov. (AKI ) - Seven of the ten Christian churches in the Bahraini capital of Manama may be closed because they have no legal permits.

According to the Arab newspaper, al-Sharg al-Awsat, the authorities are considering the move after protests in recent days by residents in an area of the city where several churches are concentrated.

Residents are objecting to the presence of a dozen churches in the same area, concerned that many of them are found in the same street as little as eight metres from each other.

However the problem with the seven churches is that they were created by Indian immigrants of Christian faith without authorisation by local authorities.

For this reason the Minister for Social Affairs has given the seven churches an ultimatum: obtain the necessary permits or face closure in two weeks.

"This position taken has unleashed the anger of several British Christian organisations that have accused Manama of persecuting Christians," the newspaper said.

The Bahrain authorities have stressed that they want to guarantee religious freedom in their national territory, saying that "the churches enjoy great freedom and our people are open and tolerant towards other cultures and societies".

As long as the churches pay the tax.

...sure...let's see if the church is allowed to hold a tag sale in the parking lot with serveral of the items for sale being rosaries, crosses, St Christophers medals, St Jude Medals, bibles and other religious artifacts....would not be long before the religious police arrived....

...Muslims hate Christians...Ban Muslim Immigration...

My bet is that (a) only non-Muslim houses of worship need permits, and (b) such permits are essentially impossible to obtain.

And do mosques have their permits?

Imam states, "Permits are for sissy's, allah knows best."

The English translation:

"You have absolute, total freedom to convert to Islam at any time, the sooner the better. As far as this Christianity thing, we're going to make it as difficult as humanly possible for you to keep practicing your faith."

The votaries of the Mohammedan cult would at the drop a turban close all the churches. That is how the cultists are. Sultans on the other hand have a lingering idea that they are obliged to provide for all their subjects. It is often the case that the Sultan is tolerant of alien faiths but when the fat turds(mullahs) show up with their mobs, he has to very quickly rage along with them in order to have some peace of mind.

Gotta give Bahrain credit for a few things... There ARE Christmas decorations up - the Gulf Hotel does an absolutely gorgeous job with a tree and poinsettias and garlands! I bought an 8' - eight foot!!! - tree [yes, of course it's fake, but still!!!] at Home Center and a bunch of tree decorations. And, I got my 8' tree through customs to bring in to Saudi with no problem - and it's not like you can hide or "smugg1e" a box that big. Brought in ten pounds of pork that same trip last week. [Life isn't all bad.] Try finding any of the above, here. You won't. [Although there is one store downtown in Khobar, which I will not name, that if you look / act / speak in a Western manner will ask you if you need cards or wreaths and decorations.

...I suspect they had a difficult time saying that with a straight face.....
