A court in the Danish capital, Copenhagen, has found three men guilty of planning bomb attacks.Mohammed Zaher, Abdallah Andersen and Ahmad Khaldhahi were part of a group of four men arrested after a raid in the city of Odense last year.
Chemicals used to make explosives were found at one of the men's homes, the court heard. The men had also been recorded discussing targets to attack.
The fourth man, Riad Anwar Daabas, was acquitted by the court. [...]
The men were charged with acquiring chemicals and equipment used to make triacetone triperoxide (TATP) - an explosive compound used in the 2005 London bombings.
The evidence against them included a bottle containing a small amount of TATP, found at one of the suspects' homes, and surveillance recordings in which the men are apparently heard discussing targets for possible attack.
The men had denied the charges and said they were joking when discussing the targets, the AP news agency says.

Why such light sentences? Why are terrorists given credit for having their murderous plans foiled? They should have been given at least triple these sentences if not executed as traitors in a war on Islamic terrorism. As it is they can look forward to planning to blow up infidels in 10 or 11 years. The liberal governments of the West are such dumb pansies.

It says that Zaher is of Syrian (syrisk in Danish) background and Khaldhahi is Iraqi (iraker). I don't see any reference to Islam or muslim. I try to read the Norwegian, Danish or Swedish articles of stories in those countries.
They were probably some more "naive men".

A good place to start would be to change the emphasis of the Dept of Transportation (and the various state DoT's) from more highways that only encourage more gas consumption to electric mass transit. Virtually all of our cities and metropolitan areas badly need more mass transit -- subways, commuter trains, light rail, etc -- and to do the most good, it must be electric. Diesel is still burning oil. Also let's have electric, high-speed intercity rail. We have a start in the North East Corridor. Let's add New York-Albany-Buffalo, Harrisburg-Pittsburgh, and Washington-Richmond to begin with. And provide the electricity from nuclear plants. Low pollution, and no oil burning. We should have started this 30 or more years ago. But we had dhimmi-dummy-Jimmy in the White House then.

I agree, TIME TO DRILL IN THE gulf, ANWR, and anywhere else there might be oil, while pursuing alternative fuel sources. We are WAY past due in doing this, and our country is in near crisis.
