Iran: Use of the word women 'banned from state TV'

"In programmes broadcast throughout the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against women last Sunday, Iranian state TV used the world family instead." International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Family?

From AKI (thanks to Morgaan Sinclair):

Tehran, 29 Nov. (AKI) - The word 'women' must now be replaced on Iranian state television by 'family', reformist Norouz news agency reports.

In programmes broadcast throughout the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against women last Sunday, Iranian state TV used the world family instead.

In recent weeks, Iran's Centre for the Participation of Women changed its name to the Centre for Family Matters.

And one may detect a family resemblance to these Muslim clerics in those Western women who used to noisily demand (the demand seems to have recently been muted, even possibly disappeared, in the face of widespread ridicule) the replacement of the word "woman" by the word "womyn."

This comes as no surprise. When I was deployed in Saudi, you would see lines in resteraunts for men and the other "family" as well as "family" sections where the booths had curtains.

So now it will be known as the National Organization of Family?

"Womyn". That spelling just conjured up the memory of the movie PCU. The "womyn" in the group were shown wearing BDU-style pants, work/military boots and flannel shirts.

So, first all women must be completely covered. Now the media can't even mention the word, woman. Obviously the men of islam have the self-control of a serial rapist with a lifetime supply of "Spanish Fly", that just the mere mention of the word elicits a "woody" and rutting behavior. Sad. Extremely sad.

The "womyn" comment reminded me of the movie PCU. The members wore BDU-style pants, work/military boots, and flannel shirts.

First women are made to be completely covered. Now the term "woman" can't even be used in the media. Obviously the men of islam have the self-control of a serial rapist with a lifetime supply of "Spanish Fly". Apparently the men get a "woody" at the mere mention or site of the word "woman." Sad. Very sad.

Sorry for the multiple posts. Have been having issues with the net. Once again, my apologies.

We referred to those particular western women as ‘chycks’, and females wearing the burka as ‘BMOs’ (black moving objects). I personally prefer 'women'.

One other way to erase womankind.

View this to see what American female college students are going to have to deal with.

I'm convinced that somewhere in the ummah those world famous Koranic scientists we've all heard about(whose ancestors gave us such breakthroughs as the discovery of the Americas, the zero and everything else)are working on their next breakthrough-the process of reproduction without women. Considering how poorly they treat women it's only natural for them to attempt this latest victory for Illah, god of insanity.

At least Saddam Hussein liberated women in Iraq to some degree. Do you remember the movies of his regiment of women in the Iraqi army? They took movies of these young ladies murdering dogs with their bare hands to show how tough they were. The whole world was revolted. Am I the only one who remembers this? Am I the only one who read Cruelty and Silence?

When it comes to women in Islam its hide them in a tent or make them into self-exploding mammas.

If there is no name for women, do they cease to exist?

Greetings:

Iran: Use of the word women 'banned from state TV'

They don't have this problem there. Who told you they have this problem.

Just like I'm-a-nut-job's homosexuals.

Without knowing more detail, I'd guess the point is patriarchy, not fear of sexuality. Islamic clergy aim to deny women's individuality. There is only the man and his family, with its various cells. To set up days of recognition or institutions specifically for women implies their interests are not always identical to those of the men, or may be unhappy victims of men. The Islamic/sexist line is to assume a harmony of interests between the male superior and his female subordinates, much like that between master and slave, capitalist and worker. The mullahs know "sisterhood is powerful," and they are afraid of it.

Does this mean that Iranian Korans will be altered to say that men are made to be superior over family or that a family is like a tilth for men to use as they please?

...just another attempt to discredit any sense of identity or sense of value a Muslim woman would like to have to indicate she is something other that slave or chattel to be used by Muslim Men......

....as I ponder, I think there are many words the Muslims do not like to use; the words such as peace (in the real sense), charity (in the real sense), religious plurality (in the real sense), individuality, freedom of expression, freedom of the individuals rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, civil rights, capitalism, a real expection of the individual to actually become a contributing member of the human race, and so many more....

.....Muslim women have always suffered at the hands of Muslim Men...this current incident clearly shows it is so.....

Allah hates Muslims....he gives them poverty, misery, death....and now removes the idenity of the woman....

Ban Muslim Immigration...

How wonderfully diverse of these Iranians! Is this the same mindset that tells us that there are no gays in Iran? Champions of diversity should be proud of their accomplishments in Iran, clearly an "enlightened" country if there ever was one.

Reminds me of the fact that Obama, as a presidential candidate talks a lot about family.
Family values, etc. Whose definition of family values is he talking about?
Does anyone remember him talking about women. Spelled either way?
If he gets elected, will Egypt consider him a muslim?
Two (Muslim)fathers and time spent in a madrassa, where his favorite memory is "the call to prayers in the evening was the most beautiful thing he had ever heard."

Orwellian. And then some.

I agree with Aunt Bea, I have never once heard BHO (Barack Hussien Obama) denounce the evil acts of islamo-fascists, he seems very sympathetic to their "lifestyle".

in defense of BHO, I pray daily he loses, no politician on the left will denounce such "freedom fighters," rather always stating that the "few" have hijacked the religion and that it is all the fault of those nasty Jews and Western nations/Christians. And ANY politician who even acknowledges, in even a small light, the presence of islamo-fascism will quickly throw in that ever tiring disclaimer of Islam being the religion of peace. Unfortunately we live in a time when PC is firmly entrenched in our society. And it isn't going away anytime soon. So it is up to those who see the threat facing the Western world to pressure our leaders into action, and when they are reticent of action, to replace them with those who are willing to, if not directly and on their own free will to face the threat then by public pressure.

Iran's regime is substituting the word family for the word women in order to deny that it persecutes women. Furthermore, the use of the word mockery is a big lie because Iran's government cares neither for women nor families.

It's all a bit reminiscent of the way nineteenth century travellers had to apologise for referring to the unmentionable sex if they absent mindedly touched on the subject of women when conversing with their hosts as guests in some Bedouin tent.

Currently, Obama is an apostate as far as Islam is concerned. This is a fact and not a conspiracy theory. They say all babies are born Muslim but then parents of infidel religions brainwash the baby Muslims into other lesser faiths. That is a fact.

What must be done with an apostate of the Muslim faith? Give him a chance to convert back to Islam.

....better pray he never gets in the White House....

Ban Muslim Immigration.

It would be more accurate if the Iranians substituted the word cattle for the word "women".
That is how women are viewed there and everywhere else in the muslim world.
