Iranian cleric: nuke production un-Islamic

Is he a member of the faction opposing Ahmadinejad? Or is he practicing a bit of "war is deception"?

"Cleric: WMD production against Islam," from PressTV (thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist):

Ayatollah Mohammad Emami Kashani says as Islam has forbidden the massacre of other nations, making an atomic bomb is against our beliefs.

“The Leader of the Islamic Revolution, the highest authority in Iran, has explicitly prohibited the production or use of weapons of mass destruction,” said Tehran's interim Friday prayers leader.

“Iranians believe in a world that is safe for everyone and this is rooted in their Islamic beliefs," he said adding, yet, the global arrogance accuses Iran of trying to produce nuclear weaponry.

"The enemies have created tensions on our borders, hatched terror plots against us, launched psywar and threatened us with military action and more sanctions, but our vigilant military forces ensure the country's peace,” the senior cleric concluded.

Yes, the Iranian regime has proven itself again and again since 1979 to be filled with the type of people who stick daisies into rifle barrels.

Then why did Iran feel compelled to maintain secrecy about the program begun in 1988? As a signatory of the NPT, Iran is free to develop nuclear power for peaceful purposes.

Pssst: We don't want to make nuclear warheads, Just nuclear IED's. It's Halal!!

There's some semantic loophole built into this declaration, or Iran would have gladly accepted the foreign offers of enriched nuclear materials (produced and brought in from outside the country and removed to a foreign repository after use) for their reactor program.

Centrifuges mean that this ayatollah is spinning.

Letting these superstitious buffoons play with nukes is about as wise as passing out hand greandes in kindergarten.

“Those who know nothing of Islam pretend that Islam counsels against war. Those [who say this] are witless. Islam says: Kill all the unbelievers just as they would kill you all! . . . Islam says: Whatever good there is exists thanks to the sword and the shadow of the sword.” And again in 1979, from a speech delivered at the Feyziyeh Theological School: “Islam grew with blood . . . . The great prophet of Islam on one hand carried the Koran and in the other a sword . . . . Islam is religion of blood for the infidels but a religion of guidance for other people.”

--Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini

...And I have a bridge in Broklyn to sell to you!

Ok anytime anyone with the descriptor Ayatollah says anything to an non-Muslim it should be regarded as a lie, or half truth. Anytime anyone says Islam forbids weapons of mass destruction or the killing of civilians ... that only applies to persons agreeing with a narrow view of Islam .... any Muslim (not in that catagory) or non-Muslim is fair game.

This has all the signs of a power struggle. Remember, Ahmadinejad's cronies got trounced in local elections recently. Looks like the opposition (such as it is) is growing a bigger pair of brass ones. Maybe.

Strange statement comming from a People willing to blow themselfs up, along with who ever else is around at the time.

Vaporising whole areas at a time must be worse than doing it 20-1000lbs a bang???

Feeding time at Zoo must be much longer. Three Kills a Day is not enough. It must be a Buffet open 24/7.

I feel so much better knowing this. Especially after their recent love America Day.

Iran, a Bi-Polar Nation, in serious need of Medication

So weapons of mass destruction are forbidden. O.K. then what about masses of destructive weapons -- like the thousands of suicide-bombers that Iran claims to have ready to meet any invasion?

BS! After the fake "prophet" concocted the 72 virgin/sensual "heaven" rewards for his highway robbers, he took the fiction of the "night journey to hell and heaven" to the Arab city of Taif. According to Sahaba (companion) Hadith, he was beaten up and booted out of town. After the conquest of Mecca, the "prophet" took revenge against Taif, by using fiery "ballistic" against private homes. Taif - and it exists to this day - was destroyed. However, the "prophet" made sure that date palms were saved for tribute, and camel, sheep and women-booty were saved for the believers (Muhammed received 20% of booty under the "khums" tax).

Taif Sunna (emulation of the wild animal who founded islam) was used in al-Qaeda/Taliban fatwa as dogmatic justification for general annihilation.

Koranimals have a doctrinal obligation to commit genocide. For the carpet humpers, the unholy koran trumps the Genocide Convention.

Islam is terror; muslims are terrorists.

lol @ topic

Hell, for that matter,
being NORMAL is "un-islamic"...
I'll take NORMAL ANY day!

“The Leader of the Islamic Revolution, the highest authority in Iran, has explicitly prohibited the production or use of weapons of mass destruction,” said Tehran's interim Friday prayers leader.

I don't believe what they say to be trustworthy.
Why did he not attack remarks made by Iranian President about obliterating Israel?

They're notorious for not finishing a sentence...
they left off 2 words...it really reads as follows:

“The Leader of the Islamic Revolution, the highest authority in Iran, has explicitly prohibited the production or use of weapons of mass destruction... (against us!)."

NOW it makes more sense.

This isn't actually all that surprising, given that Khomeini himself issued a fatwa in the 1980s, forbidding the use of nuclear devices. It may well be that Kashani is merely a conservative, not a radical, and thus wants to cleave to the orders of Khomeini.
