Palestinian jihadists fire mortars into Israel from UN school in Gaza

Complicity. "Mortars fired from UN Gaza school," from the BBC (thanks to Matthew):

The UN secretary general has ordered an investigation into an incident in which Palestinian militants fired mortars at Israel from a UN-run school in Gaza.

Ban Ki-moon condemned the abuse of UN facilities and described it a "serious violation of the UN's privileges and immunities", a spokeswoman said.

Israeli military aircraft filmed the mortars being fired from the school's playground in Beit Hanoun last week.

The UN has already complained about the incident to the authorities in Gaza.

The coastal territory has been controlled by the Islamist movement, Hamas, since it seized control from the rival Fatah group of Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas in June.

Given the UN's position on the poor, oppressed palestinians I'd say this is too funny to comment on.

....close all UN facilities/schools...thereby making all sites of hostile activity legal to hit...

...and Ban Muslim Immigration.

Earth to Moon:
Earth to Ban Ki Moon:

Hamas and other terrorists do not respect anyone not muslim, any law not in the Koran or sharia, or anything not belonging to non-muslims. They do not respect the non-combatant status of Israeli civilians, or the territorial rights of the Israeli state. How can you expect them to respect the privileges and immunities of the United Nations?

"...And next to the sandbox, right of the swingsets, we have the mortar monkeybars. Kids be careful over there in case misfire..."

'a serious viloation of U.N. privileges and immunities'???????......

What about CRIMINAL?

Who is conducting the 'investigation'? Are we to believe 'they' are credible?

What is the intention of the investigation when the perpetrators are caught? Will the U.N. turn the perpetrators over to the IDF?

Come on Moon, you have no intention of doing a thing? And you don't have the power to back it up? Just buy time and let it go away.

There will come a day when the rules of engagement do not include taking pictures of those shooting at you, and then running to the UN to tell on them.

They were using the school's *playground* as a staging area? What a bunch of sick bastards.

We can't be sure that *any* gift from the West to the Muslim world will not be misused. All of that aid to "fight terror" given to Pakistan, and Egypt, and Mahmoud Abbas is as likely to wind up *funding* terror as fighting it. How many of those arms given to Fatah are now in the hands of Hamas? How many are being useed against Israel?

There was a recent article about Israel helping Gazans upgrade their sewer systems, which were so badly maintained that they had overflowed several times leading to numerous deaths. One of the Israeli engineers was boasting that they had pioneered using a heavy-duty plastic PVC pipe for the job. This innovation was necassary because Gazans had been stealing the metal pipes to use as mortars to fire on Israel.

The solution for this problem lies in Islam getting some protection from criticism from the UN human rights council

Checklist for new playground in Gaza:

- Moral slide (with slippery slope into violent jihad)

- Rhetorical swings (from "Islam is Peace" to "obliterate the Jews")

- Political spin-go-round

- Partition wall climbing apparatus
(replaces outdated climbing bars which are for monkeys/pigs)

- tunnel of weapons transport

- Dodge-bomb court

- Rock pitch

-Mortar and rocket launch installation ... right beside the drinking fountain

- Giant painted target for Zionist murderers wishing to retaliate by killing innocent palestinian children without provocation

- Staging area for Pallywood crews to film expected (or manufactured) atrocity

Thanks for posting this Robert.

This is the "Matthew" that sent you the link, a recent (2004) alumnus from Brown University!

I was a bit surprised to even see the Beeb reporting on this.

Just give them more land for peace. It worked last time.

Oh wait, nevermind.

"The UN has already complained about the incident to the authorities in Gaza."

To which the authories in Gaza responded by saying "So? What's your point? Can we have some more money?"

walterc,

Why the sarc tag? Thats probaly very well what happened. :-)

Come on people...
The UN did all they could. They complained. I am sure there was a strongly worded letter sent.

Let's give "the process" a chance.

(sarcasm off)

Did the U.N. staff at the school wear their U.N. insignia as they aimed and fired the mortars? Or did they remove them first? Just curious.

hey, it's Useless Numbnuts, Inc

Exactly one year ago the Pali where also firing mortars from Beit Hanoun which resulted with this

"November 8, 2006: Beit Hanoun incident occurred when the Israel Defense Forces shelled the Gaza Strip town of Beit Hanoun , killing 19 Palestinians and wounding more than 40. It occurred the day after the Israeli withdrawal following Operation Autumn Clouds, a week-long operation by the Israeli military in the northern Gaza Strip aimed at curbing Qassam rocket attacks fired by Palestinian militants from the town"
