An update on this story, from CNN:
(CNN) -- An audio recording attributed to Osama bin Laden called on Europeans to abandon Afghanistan and accused NATO troops of killing women and children there.
Projection. After all, jihadists -- al-Qaeda and otherwise -- never, ever, ever targeted women and children.
The message surfaced on Al Jazeera television three days after al Qaeda's TV production unit promised fresh communication from the world's most-wanted terrorist leader.
It's the first message purported to be from bin Laden since the Arabic-language TV network aired an audiotape last month.
In Thursday's message, the speaker claims sole responsibility for the September 11, 2001, attacks and accuses America's NATO allies of killing civilians in Afghanistan, where the country's Taliban rulers allowed al Qaeda to operate prior to 9/11.
"You didn't respect the rules of war and attacked and killed women and children on purpose," the speaker says.
The authenticity of the tape could not be immediately verified. It is believed to be new, but there was no indication when it was recorded.

About 41,000 troops from the United States, NATO and other countries are taking part in the fighting, the largest ground operation in NATO's nearly 60-year history.
The previous message from bin Laden included no dated references, making it impossible to determine when it was taped based on its contents. In the message, bin Laden called on his followers to be loyal to the Islamic nation, not to individual leaders, groups, tribes or countries.
The tape marked the first time bin Laden spoke directly to the militants.
"Beware of your enemies, especially those who infiltrate your ranks," he said in Arabic.
"I advise myself and the Islamic nation not to follow individuals and countries," he said. "Everything should be seen in the light of Islam."
Addressing the mujahedeen in Iraq as "my brothers," he said, "You have done well to perform your duty."

OT, but not really, yesterday on the local morning talk show there was a very interesting exchange between the host and a couple of Muslim callers. One of the men was doing his kinder, gentler act regarding what Muslims believe and what Islam is all about. When the host asked him why Islam is the fastest growing religion he said because it is the right religion. So far so good. The main question was about whether the British teacher in the Sudan who let the kids name the bear Mohammad should be punished. This guy kept saying he was a Muslim and it was wrong for the teacher to be lashed, but then when the subject of the Mohammad cartoons came up, this guy said that the people who promoted the cartoons did it deliberately and that they should be punished. When the host asked the guy how they should be punished he said with 100 lashes. You could hear the disbelief in the host's voice, who is usually a dufus when it comes to apologizing for Islam. The host then said something very important, and that was that he usually tries to cut Islam a break, BUT THERE ARE TOO MANY STORIES COMING OUT FOR THERE NOT TO BE SOMETHING TO ALL THIS.
The next caller, the second Muslim, was obviously a black American who was probably born and raised in the states and converted. He said that he would like to see Sharia instituted in the U.S. because it is such a moral system, but just for Muslims to live under. (Uh-huh.) The question about the woman in Saudi Arabia who was sentenced to 200 lashes came up and this guy defended the practice because he said it is Allah's law and it is immutable. (I'm listening to this thinking, do you realize you are blowing your cover? Do you realize you are admitting to what we've been saying?) This guy said that he doesn't let his daughters go out of the house unless they are chaperoned by a male relative. He said that if his daughter was caught like the girl from Saudi, the lashes would be appropriate, that it wouldn't be about her being his daughter but that it is Allah's law and it must be followed. This was not in Eqypt or the Sudan, but in a popular American suburb.
Again, I could hear the wheels turning in the host's head and he talked about how unbelievable this mentality was. But the point is, he is starting to get it and the Muslims in our midst are starting to blow their cover. I think the best thing about this exchange was that right before the first Muslim guy got on, there was a dumb-de-dumb angry, liberal dhimmi who jumped on the host because he felt it was unfair to paint Muslims as violent because of this harsh sentence for the British teacher. The host kept reiterating that he was simply stating what the sentence was. Angry dhimmi kept going on and on about how most Muslims aren't like that, how most Muslims don't believe in that sort of thing, and then these two Muslim guys get on and blow angry dhimmi's argument to smithereens. It was beautiful!

a: the politicians who by and large supported NATO's 99 Kosovo bombing campaign were the trendy lefty socialilists. Most, but by no means all, of the support for the INFIDELS -Serbs- came from the right wing. The NATO war on Serbia was largely a socialist venture, though not at all entirely.
b:The Eastern European Nationalist parties - Right wing- have been way more wary of signing on to the Afghan and Iraqi misadventures than the -former Communist/Socialist parties. The former Communist parties in the East have been very enthusiastic about giving their troops so that Islamist Constitutions can flourish in Iraq and Afghanistan.
